Felt Cafe - Review - Stroud - Cotswolds - The Infatuation

"The best thing about Felt Cafe is its riverside setting. The cheery spot is right by the water and the collection of mismatched benches, fringed parasols, and prams parked beside leafy trees make it feel more like a big, extended family picnic than a cafe. Do like the stick-fighting children and brunching couples here, and get a seat outside, as close to the water as possible. It’s a charming place to stop for a coffee on a sunny day. The food—breakfast classics like avocado on toast and a decent bacon bap—is OK, but you’ll find better in nearby Stroud." - Sinéad Cranna

Nice cafe on the outskirts of Stroud just off the A419 Stroud to Cirencester road. No noticeable traffic noise just the occasional train on the viaduct above. The river Frome runs by the outside lawned area where there's also outdoor seating with a mixture of benches and tables with chairs. Very clean and relaxed. Good service at this local and very popular small cafe, right next door to Noah's Ark, the cycle shop. Weve visited twice, in the space of two weeks, drinks and a savoury snack then first time and just drinks on the second. Four drinks including decaf cappuccino, two bottled flavoured lemonades and a hot chocolate came to just over £15. Relaxed atmosphere, with additional seating inside and to the front. Limited parking for five to six cars close to the front with additional seating the other side of the cycle shop, not ideal for elderly or clients with reduced mobility. The toilets are adjacent to the main road in a separate building near xt to the overflow car park. And yes, it's dog friendly. Dog treats on hand. Brusque welcome 10 for lunch . Outside pagoda is a nice place to eat, the river Frome babbling by on a sunny day is idyllic. Sunday albeit obviously a busy day showed up the shortage of staff and their training . Food was acceptable but not memorable. Price v quality answer is high v average. Will revisit on a week day to give it another try . Location is superb standard of service and food need to match standard of the location. Thanks for 100k views more soon .

Giving 2 stars because the people who work here are lovely and the coffee is good. BUT, I just paid £4.70 for a mocha to go and it took 15 minutes to get it. Was tempted to get behind the counter and just make it myself. If this was one time, I’d forgive, but it happens every time I come so sadly I won’t be returning. A shame as it’s my nearest coffee shop :(

Next to a lovely stream and walk -- in a small, old mill. Excellent lunch (salad, soup, toastie). Even better breakfast (eggs, avocado, bacon, toast). Delicious mushrooms. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend. Plenty of outdoor seating.

Our second visit to this great little cafe, and this time we knew to book ahead! They really do get busy, and for good reason... They had a father's day special menu on and the fry up I had is the best I've had in a looong time... They obviously take care to pick excellent ingredients with real flavour. Highly recommend. There's also a guitar shop just around the corner, in case that's your thing. :)

A lovely little waterside spot to grab a drink and some food in the sunshine. This is clearly a local favourite and picks up a lot of footfall as well due to the footpath that runs past too. If possible, book in advance! We were lucky to get a seat just before the mid-morning rush, the coffee we ordered was good and the food arrived shortly afterwards. The filled croissant was as good as it looked and very fairly priced, everything is here. The poached eggs on toast were good too, but I do prefer my toast a little more well done, but nothing to quibble too much over. Overall this is a lovely space to visit.

Popped here for coffee and brunch on a Sunday afternoon. Lovely little place with nice atmosphere and right by the river. We had coffee (Flat whites), sourdough toast with Avo and eggs and it was very good. The coffee was really tasty too, served in cool mugs. We also got some cake to take away and this was nice and fresh too. Recommend coming here for coffee or brunch.

It was a little corner of paradise! It was peaceful and very family ( and dog) orientated! They were selling ice cream for dogs! The lunch was very tasty but to be honest if you enjoy your food, you could easily eat two of these slices! We've had mushrooms with double cheese and truffle mayo and a tuna melt slice. Both were delicious! The café also have a wide range of vegan products. I highly recommend it !
