Felt Cafe - Review - Stroud - Cotswolds - The Infatuation

"The best thing about Felt Cafe is its riverside setting. The cheery spot is right by the water and the collection of mismatched benches, fringed parasols, and prams parked beside leafy trees make it feel more like a big, extended family picnic than a cafe. Do like the stick-fighting children and brunching couples here, and get a seat outside, as close to the water as possible. It’s a charming place to stop for a coffee on a sunny day. The food—breakfast classics like avocado on toast and a decent bacon bap—is OK, but you’ll find better in nearby Stroud." - Sinéad Cranna

Nice quiet little place, bit on the pricey side but we only had drinks and a snack. Toilet is outside and round the corner which was strange but nice, clean and well stocked. Sausage roll was lovely as was the Scone with cream and jam (jam was seeded though which im not a fan of) Service was ok, nothing special.

Food was okay but portions small for the price. And lacked the bit of seasoning. Nice place to sit by the canal and the staff were friendly.

Nice cafe on the outskirts of Stroud just off the A419 Stroud to Cirencester road. No noticeable traffic noise just the occasional train on the viaduct above. The river Frome runs by the outside lawned area where there's also outdoor seating with a mixture of benches and tables with chairs. Very clean and relaxed. Good service at this local and very popular small cafe, right next door to Noah's Ark, the cycle shop. Weve visited twice, in the space of two weeks, drinks and a savoury snack then first time and just drinks on the second. Four drinks including decaf cappuccino, two bottled flavoured lemonades and a hot chocolate came to just over £15. Relaxed atmosphere, with additional seating inside and to the front. Limited parking for five to six cars close to the front with additional seating the other side of the cycle shop, not ideal for elderly or clients with reduced mobility. The toilets are adjacent to the main road in a separate building near xt to the overflow car park. And yes, it's dog friendly. Dog treats on hand. Level 10 Google reviewer with over 1,200 reviews with 2 million views plus 14,000 photos with more than 60 million views and still going strong 💪. Check out my other reviews 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟.

Brusque welcome 10 for lunch . Outside pagoda is a nice place to eat, the river Frome babbling by on a sunny day is idyllic. Sunday albeit obviously a busy day showed up the shortage of staff and their training . Food was acceptable but not memorable. Price v quality answer is high v average. Will revisit on a week day to give it another try . Location is superb standard of service and food need to match standard of the location. Thanks for 100k views more soon .

Felt is a little local treasure. Super cozy and nicely decked out. It can be so popular at times though that it gets incredibly busy, so sensible to book ahead if you want a table at a weekend. Food portion sizes are on the smaller side, especially for hungry people 😅 so not somewhere to visit if you’re really hungry… unless you’re also really rich!

Stopped here with a friend for refreshment as we were walking the canal footpath from Stroud. What a gem of a place and what a lucky find! A picturesque setting, with beautiful views across the water. Staff were warm and friendly. And the coffee and cake were both excellent. I can recommend the apple cake - lovely and moist. The single WC is a short walk from the main cafe, but was clean and well stocked.

Went for lunch with a friend for the first time for years on a lovely sunny day and sat under a canopy in the garden. The food was delicious - my friend had a nourishing bowl (couscous, beetroot, butter beans) and I had a warm salad with goat's cheese, bacon bits and walnuts - but, like my previous visit, we had to wait ages for our orders to arrive so not a place to go to for a speedy lunch. You have to go inside to order and, altho' I didn't use the facilities, I remember the loo being a little walk away along the river path!

It has taken me far too long to write this, as I have been going to Felt for years and cannot recommend it highly enough! The setting is idyllic, with its beautiful outdoor space besides a little stream, where we like to dip in the winter (freezing but exhilarating!) and the food is utterly delicious. Claire and Michael work so hard, always with a smile on their faces, and they have added many personal touches to the place, so it feels cozy and homely - I could easily lose hours here. Child and dog-friendly, with plenty of treats for both, plus games and other fun activities. A must-visit!
