I spent a long time in this museum. I haven't been that engaged for a long time. Extremely interesting with lots of things to see. I found it very moving in parts. The suitcase section with the audio guide was excellent as was the photographic section. Amazing building and views. Highly recommend that you visit.

We visited the **FENIX Museum** on October 4, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. My husband and I both loved it. The museum has a fascinating history and striking modern architecture. The spiral staircase leading up to the observation deck is truly impressive. Even though it was a very windy and rainy day when we went, and I had to explore the viewing platform in the rain, it was still an amazing experience. It’s a perfect spot for panoramic photos of Rotterdam. The museum’s content is also remarkable. It’s not a traditional ethnographic museum — it’s an art museum. What I especially loved was how it explores the topic of migration through different stories and perspectives: cultural enrichment, assimilation, and deeply personal human experiences of migration. It really makes you think. We expected to go through the entire museum in about two hours, but we ended up spending all that time in just one hall — simply because there’s so much to see, read, and reflect on. The exhibits are genuinely captivating. There are also fascinating historical artifacts, like a **Nansen passport**, which was incredible to see. So I highly, *highly* recommend visiting this museum — especially if you love art and the theme of migration speaks to you.

The museum staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. It’s impossible not to be touched here. Listening to the stories hidden behind each suitcase takes you on an unforgettable journey. As you gaze at the photographs, fragments of your own memories awaken, stirring feelings you thought were long gone. Life, in all its strangeness, never ceases to astonish.

We had a super time at this museum. A must see when you are in Rotterdam! We loved the architecture, the exhibits (some very powerful), the rooftop terrace with stunning city views. Only negatives: long queue to get a coffee at the little bar.

Beautiful place and great architecture. Migration is an inspiring theme that could be carved put some more. I missed a historic perspective through time (starting with all of us living in Africa, moving around), some future perspective of climate change impacts on migration in the near future, examples of succesfull and unsuccessfull different adaptation strategies to fit into new cultures etc etc. Now it is mostly around flighting for war or hunger. Enough to optimize in the future! But for sure a must see now in Rotterdam!

The building itself is a total work of art. I love how the stairs are designed with multiple routes to wander. The exhibition spaces are bright and super spacious, and the immigration-themed show fits Dutch diversity. There's a cute little viewing platform on the top floor with city views.

Don’t expect to learn much about the geopolitics or economics of migration. Here you will feel what it’s like to be a migrant. You’ll be immersed in the stories and lives of those who have been forced to migrate or simply went on an adventure. Absolutely fascinating and beautifully done.

Came here to see the exhibition on migration and it was very inspiring. The art pieces and stories being told here were insightful and moving. The space itself is also very impressive with nice views over the city. Overall a very pleasant experience and would definitely recommend coming here to see the exhibition.
