Everywhere Worth Eating Between San Francisco and Lake Tahoe

"Before the modern highway system, there was Fenton’s. At both the original Oakland location, established in 1894, and their Vacaville outpost, opened in 2007, the ice cream business scoops butter brickle, banana nut black walnut, pistachio raspberry swirl, and far more flavors that stretch back into perpetuity. Cakes and pies are on the menu, too (no guarantee they will hold up well in the car, though.)" - Paolo Bicchieri

Here’s Where to Eat While You’re Holiday Shopping in the Bay Area

"The original Fentons opened in Oakland in 1894 but you’ll still get a sweet sense of nostalgia at the Vacaville outpost. It’s a perfect stop for a mid-power shopping pick-me-up: choose from a bevy of ice cream flavors made with California’s own Guittard Chocolate and C&H Sugar. Plus there’s a long list of savory options including the popular crab sandwich, salads, hot dogs, burgers, and more. The Vacaville location is inside the Nut Tree Plaza just across I-80 from the sprawling outlet mall." - Lauren Saria, Becky Duffett

Yelp
4/3/24 It was 105F in the shade so we ducked in for some chill. Seating by the hostess was fast and Angel the server was very friendly. We had the $18.49 Junior Banana split and it was huge. We put a good dent in it though. We have been here several times and we have never regretted the 30 minute drive. Always consistently enjoyable.

Yelp
Today was a very warm day. My friend and I were down for some ice cream. We were next in line until a random woman comes up to the hostess and inquired about the wait times. The hostess told her the wait times and asked to take her phone number to be put on the waitlist. She went on to tell the woman her wait time would be 10 minutes for her and her plus one. When she got to us, we told her we were there first and were in line. She apologized and told us our wait time would be 15-20 minutes for party of two. That upset us because we we're waiting at least 15 minutes in that lobby and that lady she sat waltz right in to ask her she gave priority to. She told us we more than likely will be seated at the same time. We saw the other lady who cut to ask her a question get seated and we had to wait another 20 minutes. Lies! When she finally called our name she tried to tell my friend she liked his shirt but my friend proceeded to press her on why she did what she did. To which she replied that next time we need to grab her attention first. Remember when your in line at Fentons you better raise your voice at the hostess because you can't simply just be next in line you have to grab her attention! When our server came we asked to speak to the manager. She took our order and I had asked if they had pies. She told me that they had peach or apple pie. I asked if it was heated and she said yes! It was not heated. When we spoke to the manager and told her everything including the pie not being heated she offered to take care of our bill but my friend refused. So we paid.

Yelp
There was a really long & slow moving line to get some ice cream tonight.. we were on our way back from the Sierras towards the Bay Area and I was craving a little ice cream on this very hot mid june evening. I guess everyone else was, too! It appeared that part of the slow-down was because several flavors were in another room (perhaps because a cooler was broken?), but part of the slow-down appeared to be low staffing: just two folks were trying to scoop & blend & taste while keeping a good attitude. I tasted the pineapple coconut (very creamy!); he got a blackberry shake (a seasonal special flavor); I ordered a medium to split the scoop between cookie dough (classic, tasty), and blueberry cheesecake (fantastic, very sweet ribbon of blackberry). You know what was not part of the slow-down? This blond ice cream girl was practically working up a sweat because she was trying so hard to effectively and professionally take & create everyone's orders. She was taking our ice cream wants and needs very seriously! I think everyone there was trying, but she was clearly trying hard; really demonstrating a spirit of customer service & attitude of hard worker. Kudos! We will be back.

Yelp
Good to the last scoop! We came here for the first time for my son's 2nd birthday last week and haven't turned back! The portions for the ice cream sundae's are CRAZY! I had the "Cookie Connection" and it is heavenly! We came back yesterday and I had the same thing. They serve food too, but we came for the ice cream. From what I see though... those are big too. Especially the Onion Rings! We need to come back and eat sometime.

Yelp
The ice cream in this place as everybody knows is top of the line stuff no place is better period . We had the one scoop toasted almonds that the only flavor you need to know when coming here it's simply the best. No other ice cream can hold a candle to this flavor and brand of ice cream . You get a lot but you also pay a lot . The crab sandwich was good as usual. We got a table very fast for a busy Saturday. The hostess was on the ball really knew what she was doing . The waitress was awesome she was so attentive for how many tables she was managing. Definitely try this place but bring your wallet it's pricey I would give this place 5 stars but it expensive

Yelp
The meal was yummy and swiftly served. I don't know if it was the crazy heat wave, but the staff in general was a little grumpy. It's ok we all have our days. This will not stop me from coming back.

Yelp
Fenton's is an amazing place. It's an Oakland institution and they opened number 2 in Vacaville at the Nut Tree. It's a fit! The place is a little bare, but also, considering it is a new building trying to be an old fashioned ice cream parlour, it's ok. It gets the vibe. While we waited for our food, we had a lot of fun watching the soda jerks make sundaes and all the other ice cream concoctions that are ENORMOUS. Then, we watched them get delivered to the table and took bets on if they would be finished--LOL. Our sandwiches were delicious and freshly made. All were enjoyable. We got single scoops of ice cream and chose to do that at their smaller scoop shop. We realized that any ice cream that we ordered at the restaurant was going to be too big for us on this trip. Would definitely recommend a stop at Fenton's.

Yelp
Fentons (not Fenton's) is one of my all-time favorites. Founded more than a century ago, they are California's longest continually operating creamery. If you are a fan of Pixar movies, you may have seen them featured in the animated movie "Up". Apparently, they are a favorite of many Pixar employees. They only have two locations - Oakland and Vacaville. The Vacaville one is located in the historic Nut Tree Plaza. My family and I have been coming here for years. Whenever we go up north along Hwy 80, we make sure we stop by for a scoop. We have never had a bad experience here. Their ice cream offerings are creamy and decadent. It's a bit more expensive than other creameries, but well worth it in my opinion. Employees are always friendly and helpful. Stop by if you have a chance!

Yelp
Food and ambiance is the best for a family outing I have to say I love the ice cream!

Yelp
My first time here and it was the best!!!! My friend always talks about Fenton's but every time we try to go it is almost closing or closed. But finally, we had time to stop here. The food was amazing but then again we were super hungry since we waited until it opened to eat brunch there Was it worth it??? Most definitely so!!!! My friend said it is known for their ice cream so you best believe it I am going to have some of their ice cream. I wanted to eat some apple pie though w/ some of their ice cream. But I wanted a milkshake though. Decisions. Decisions. I was surprised to see that there was an apple pie flavor ice cream!!! The best of both worlds!!! I got it and it tastes like an apple pie. The ice cream is so creamy and delicious. You would want more!!! The service is amazing!!! But then again I went when it opened. The ambiance is amazing. It feels like an old-fashioned diner. Which is perfect!!! This spot is the best and must-go to!!! You will not regret it.

Yelp
We went to Fenton's for a quick bite and scoop. They're curly fries are really good and we had ordered the Cranberry Turkey sandwich. Server was nice and attentive. We had split the sandwich and it was perfect to share. We had also ordered a side of potato salad with the sandwich. The dessert we had ordered was a scoop of roasted almond ice cream and Wifey had the Raspberry Sorbert. Very good ending to the meal and definitely worth the stop if you're at the Outlets and want something sweet.

Yelp
Always amazing. Love our family tradition. see my previous reviews for feedback, but the Sundays are amazing.

Yelp
Haven't been here in about 17 years it's still delicious! Hasn't changed no wonder it's been in business since 1894! I always came here as a kids but at the Oakland location. So I haven't had a crab sandwich in over 30 something years. Oh my it was just like I remembered it. The ice cream too! I was surprised it was crowded at 11 but slower at 12. It was noisy in there but it was pretty full for Father's Day.

Yelp
I still think that the price they charge ($12.55 including tax for a petite sundae with one small scoop of ice cream) is unconscionable. But I keep coming back and it is delicious. This time I got a scoop of vanilla bean with chocolate fudge sauce, nuts, whipped cream & cherry. The bigger sundaes are a better value, but I have nobody to share with and I don't want to eat that much ice cream by myself. They offer three types of chocolate sundae toppings -- chocolate fudge, chocolate syrup and jersey (malted milk chocolate). They offer other flavor toppings too, but I prefer chocolate.

Yelp
I've been to this location of Fentons before and even though I like the Oakland location better because of the history, I'm perfectly fine with this location because they are on the road between Washington State and Hercules, where we used to live and often end up visiting to see relatives for family events. Everything is pricey here. You will be paying an average of $20 for an entree or for a sundae, so just expect that. Although that sounds crazy for a sundae, they make up for it in portions. My go to is the Fudgeanna, which is a sundae in a tall standing glass with two scoops of ice cream, a whole banana, cold fudge, and nuts if you wish. The waiter came out with my Fudgeanna and it was humongous. My mom laughed out loud at the absurdity of the size of the dessert, so I explained that they have to make it large to justify what they're charging, but I'd ordered it before so I knew what I was signing up for and I was happy. Then my niece ordered another sundae, and it was just as big, making my mom laugh again at the insanity of how much ice cream she received. Plus it's a quality vanilla that they use with probably 16% butterfat, which is about as high the butterfat content can be before the ice cream turns into butter, so it's rich and flavorful. I will always come here to the ice cream and the food is basic diner fare.

Yelp
Fenton's has always been our family's favorite place to enjoy a meal and ice cream. So as we drove back to the Bay Area from Sacramento and passed the Nut Tree Plaza, my husband said, let's go to Fenton's! SLIDER SPECIAL We ordered the Slider Special which came with three fresh ground Durham Ranch Beef Sliders and seasoned curly fries. We added another slider for an additional fee. I think it was $3.95. We added an order of onions rings. The sliders were fabulous! They were not dry, but delicious . My husband and I agreed we should order their sliders again! The amount of seasoned fries and the side order of onion rings were a minimal amount which surprised us. If you like onion rings, you might want to double the order. SERVICE The waiter waited till he saw we finished eating and let us know he'd put in the order for the ice cream. BLACK and TAN This has always been my favorite Fenton's ice cream sundae since I was a teenager. The Black and Tan is Toasted Almond and Vanilla ice cream layered with handmade Caramel and Chocolate Fudge, topped with toasted almonds, whipped cream and cherry. It is absolutely the BEST! BANANA SPLIT JR HUGE SCOOPS of Vanilla, Chocolate & Strawberry ice cream with pineapple, strawberry and Fentons homemade chocolate fudge, almonds, whipped cream and cherry "cradled " by a slice of banana. Fenton's is located is located in the Nut Tree Plaza and is close to The Vacaville Premium Outlets. Next to Fenton's is a small Jelly Belly store. If you want a special treat, head over to Fenton's Vacaville.

Yelp
Okay... had to come back and do a birthday sundae with daughter #2. We got the black and white nuts on the side. Marshmallow and fudge topping is amazing. I really can't get over how much everyone loved this sundae. It's also so big! We couldn't even finish it (a party of 4). The ice cream tastes fresh, wonderful, not overly sweet, not icy. Perfect balance of cream and flavor. Are we coming back? Yes. Of course. Bonus: The room is lit up with the wonderful community all pitching in to sing the kiddos happy birthday. Can't ask for anything else better. My kids loved singing and celebrating everyone in the restaurants bday and keep asking when they can come back next.

Yelp
No star!!! Worst customer service EVER! We waited over 40 minutes when we were told 15 minutes, so i asked nicely and the hostess said well you can go somewhere else and scratched our name off their list!!!!

Yelp
When we walked in, there was no host. We waited about ten minutes (being ignored by several staff members) and then decided to grab some menus and find a place to sit. When we were approaching the ice cream counter, we were yelled at by a women to go back and read the sign. After explaining that no one came to help us after we and the other parties were waiting at the sign that said to wait for the host, she said in a very hostile way "You can find your seats then". We then had to wait about fifteen minutes for a server. The server was not very hospitable. He mumbled and we couldn't hear him. Food came fast and was ok but VERY overpriced (even taking into consideration inflation). We then ordered ice cream, and it took a whopping 25 minutes for our ice cream to be made. Seems very understaffed.

Yelp
Redemption. Went back as planned and well prepared for the sticker shock this time. Am happy to report that my sundae was superb and the onion rings and curly fries were perfect (Fentons does consistently have the best onion rings). Restored my faith in Fentons. The only downside was observing the servers - none of them looked like they wanted to be there and were sullen at best even behind their masks. We had two different servers and the first one I hope left their shift early because they were just not having it that day. I get it - I've worked food service and have had off days but faked it through my shift to ensure I was tipped well. You kinda want a happy vibe when you're at an ice cream parlor. At least I do. But no one was overtly rude or didn't do their job wrong so it didn't negatively impact the visit. It's just how things are anymore. To wrap - I will go to Fentons again in the future. Just not as often as I'd like.

Yelp
Ice cream- always delicious! Can't ever go wrong with Hot Toppers! It's got vanilla ice cream, bananas and hot fudge! Service- It was quite busy when we were there, so it required some patience asking for drink refills. The servers were all very nice and doing their best! It was just a very busy day. Restaurant- Overall, it is quite loud. You can hold a conversation if you speak loudly. The place is clean, the tables are wiped. It was a good experience!

Yelp
My friend took me to this place years ago I've never tried there food but I keep coming back for they enormous ice cream selection they have a wide range of flavors I've put so many people on this place I can't even count how many thanks to my friend years ago who took me here changed my life .

Yelp
Tips: if you're an active service member or senior, you get 15% off (make sure to bring ID). Also, bring cash to avoid the 3.5% surcharge. They allow samples and also a scoop is huge here. The coffee cookie dream is great here - a deep coffee flavor with so much oreos in it. We also got the green tea (unfortunately not much flavor in it) and toasted almond (which my sister liked - a strong almond flavor). We tried the butter brickle which was described as a toffee flavor but it was just alright. The waffle cone wasn't bad but got soggy by the time we got down to it (triple scoop).

Yelp
Hubby & I were returning back to the Bay Area after a road trip to southern Oregon. I felt like ice cream to top off our getaway. . Indoor and outdoor dining is available. We sat outside under an umbrella. We were seated immediately around 1:30pm. Our server came over immediately and introduced herself. Hubby ordered a strawberry milkshake, and I got a small scoop of chocolate marble ice cream. Hubby slurped his shake in no time. My ice cream was very smooth and creamy. We paid greater Bay Area metro prices. Small scoop ice cream $9.49. Milkshake $11.50. After tax & tip $26.00.

Yelp
I came here on a Friday evening and it wasn't too busy! Parking wasn't to bad, since there's large lot to accommodate for the many restaurants and playground near by. I waited about 10 minutes for a table of 6. At the front of the restaurant, there is an area where you can just order ice cream in cones or cups. You can't see the ice cream through the glass as it's covered, but they list all of the available flavors on a menu above! The food menu is just as big as the ice cream menu, which is amazing! So many choices from salads, sandwiches and hotdogs. I ordered the crab salad sandwich and substituted my chips for fries. It was extremely good and was a big portion. I would even say it can be shared between 2 people. For dessert, I got a scoop of the banana nut ice cream. It was so yummy, but had a little too many nuts in my small serving. There was also 2 small chocolate chip cookies on the side that were so yummy that I wanted more! I would definitely come back again even just for the ice cream!

Yelp
Stopped by Fenton's on the way back home. Could not resist the urge to get their Crab Salad Sandwich: Tender and Flavorful! Still made the old-fashioned way with REAL Alaskan Snow Crab blended with lemon juice, mayo, and celery. That's the description on the menu. It quickly arrived to our table and after taking a couple of pics, we dug into it! Slightly grilled, we added cheese (extra $1.00). Nice balance of all the ingredients.

Yelp
The restaurant looks awesome! I came here just for ice cream and I have never seen anything like it! It's very expensive for ice cream, but you get A LOT! I have never seen this much ice cream at any place I have been to and the presentation is amazing! The guy helping me was a younger tall guy and he was super helpful and funny! Only giving it 4 because it's over priced, but everything here is perfect!

Yelp
Time to get an ice cream in the middle of shopping? Fenton's Creamery is a perfect place to go. I like both the outdoor and indoor seating of Fenton's Creamery. You can sit inside the ice cream shop to enjoy your ice cream, or you can get a couple of scoops at their relaxing outdoor seating area if you don't want to wait for your table. The service is fast, and the employees are always thrilled and nice. Fenton's Creamery is a perfect spot for you in between shopping.

Yelp
We scheduled a mid afternoon meeting to discuss some business planning matters over ice cream. The place was not busy, had plenty of empty tables, and was quiet, making the environment great for conversations. A couple folks in our party tried pie, a la mode, of course. The rest of us had ice cream.... It was all good, albeit it is pretty expensive for what you get. I will say that the portion sizes are fairly generous. The service was lacking. Once food was served we were not checked on, until the bill was delivered. The staff weren't even that friendly. This place has the potential to be such a fun spot for the whole family, but that would require happy, friendly staff! Maybe it was just an off day. I'll probably give them another try sometime, but I will make sure to bring the kids.
google avatar

Faith S.

Yelp
This is the spot for a shake or scoop or two of ice cream! Fenton's is a local hot spot serving up the richest, creamiest, and tastiest frozen treats! We cannot come to Nut Tree without picking up a sweet from Fenton's!
google avatar

Alisa C.

Yelp
This place is on point for their ice cream (which I forgot to grab a picture of because it was so good) but I did an ice cream sundae with whip cream and a cherry. So good! We also got lunch here - food was good. I did a salad and my husband did a tuna melt. Service was quick. We didn't have to wait long for a table despite it being a busy Saturday.
google avatar

Michael J.

Yelp
Obviously you come here for the ice cream, and it's awesome! However, they do a good job with their food too. We dined here yesterday, Sunday, for lunch. The dining room was almost full upon our arrival about one, but we managed to get a table. My wife enjoyed the fish sandwich, her mother some type of toasted turkey sandwich, and I the potato skins, and we shared a basket of onion rings. Everything was delicious. My wife and her mother particularly praised the turkey sandwich. I was saving room for the jumbo coffee milkshake I ordered with my meal. Oh boy! It was so good! Service was adequate. Setting is a bit old school fountain shop.

Yelp
A classic and iconic place to try if you're in Vacaville (or even in Oakland, they have one too!). To keep it simple, we stopped by for their desserts, and obviously one of them is the signature Banana Split. I haven't tried their bigger version of the split but knowing it can serve 4-6 people (not unless if you're craving for a sweet tooth like me and try to eat it by yourself). However in this visit we order the Jr., and honestly it's the perfect split for me and my parents to share. I suggest to switch one (or more) of the three original flavors to something off on the flavor menu. Makes the experience different and enjoyable! We chose strawberry, chocolate, and toasted almond instead of vanilla. With extra peanuts. With pineapple topping. Tastes like heaven. *chefs kiss* Worth the delectable bite in every scoop!

Yelp
Fentons is an East Bay tradition and we often show the place some love when returning to the Bay Area. However, the owners need to show the place love too as it hasn't been updated in ages and is showing it's age. The shattered glass in the front Ice Cream display case hasn't been replaced in almost a year so few flavors are immediately available, bathrooms are run down and need new fixtures (one stall was shutdown for some time), and decor is too rundown to be current yet not old enough to be classic. But Fentons IS a classic and deserves better - it's past time for this Bay Area tradition to get it's deserved makeover. (Or at least repair the broken stuff)
google avatar

Austin W.

Yelp
Fentons Creamery excels in serving delicious ice cream, making it a hit for sweet-tooth enthusiasts. However, the layout of the restaurant seems to be less than ideal, especially when wanting to sample different flavors located across the store, leading to inconvenience both for customers and staff. Despite this, the quality of the ice cream, particularly the Oreo flavor, and the impressively large and tempting sundaes, more than compensate. The store's cleanliness and friendly staff add to the positive aspects, along with ample seating. The addition of a fun playground outside is a thoughtful touch, especially for families with children, rounding off the experience at Fentons Creamery as enjoyable, despite the layout challenges.

Yelp
Always stop here for best ice cream but also enjoy the grilled chicken club. Grilled chicken breast and bacon and buttery toast and avocado and lettuce and tomato. Always full of flavor and warm grilled yumminess. Save half for later for room for ice cream.

Yelp
Came here on Wednesday around 6pm with my husband and kids. Surprisingly, it wasn't loud and full of people. We were greeted and seated quickly. Our waiter, Cory, was excellent! He was attentive and friendly. I think he noticed my little one threw the crayons and gave him sprinkles in a bowl with a cover to shake. I thought that was a great idea because it kept him busy until the food came. The food was eh, but I think people really come here for the ice cream. My family and I shared the kid's banana split and it was still a lot for us. When we received our bill, my husband scanned the QR code and paid. Fast and easy.

Yelp
This classic joint is a must go when in the area. Their ice cream is just nostalgic - creamy and decadent. I usually get the crab sandwich with a chocolate soda. It's simply the best combo in my opinion and so satisfying. The bread is just toasted right, the crab is rich and the soda is well made. Kiddo got a mac and cheese with a kid's scoop - chocolate. Entree was nothing special - basic mac and cheese. The scoop was big for a small kid, her dad finished it for her! Service is just great, it has a homey feel. My family and I always gets taken care of. You can do reservations or if you do a walk in, they'll sign you in and can text you once your table is ready. I was able to pay for my bill using their QR code when I got my check. So easy!

Yelp
This is the best ice cream we've had in years. Creamy, full-flavored ice cream, with huge scoops. Friendly staff. Too bad it's 200 miles from our house!

Marina M.

Yelp
Our baseball team came in after a game and we were a large group - we were sat quickly; our server Anthony was terrific - attentive, thorough and fast; the food tasted great and the ice cream was amazing!

Yelp
We made the mistake of ordering 3 Caesar salads for ourselves, three of us. Without exaggeration, it is the worst salad we have ever had! The salad was drowned in the dressing and none of us could eat more than a few spoons as the dressing was so overpowering. The curly fries were good and the ice cream was divine. Never order a salad!

Yelp
The Ambiance was very nice and friendly, the food was great fresh and hot. The service was excellent.

Yelp
Great customer service by Marian. We ordered the steak sandwich, Philly cheese, melt, and chicken club. Everything was great. Of course we ordered dessert and ordered a junior black and tan Sunday with caramel. It was great!

Yelp
Thought this was strictly an ice cream shop, but was incredibly surprised to find a full fledged diner in addition to what seemed like an ice cream factory. There were tons of options, flavors, and sizes- truly an ice cream lover's paradise. We were seated at a table when we entered and the staff was very polite. We had just stopped for ice cream and though we were tempted by the monster scoops we saw being taken to nearby tables- we ordered the smallest dish available. However, these "petite" dishes were bigger than the largest sizes in most ice cream shops! The caramel almond was creamy and delicious, and the butter pecan was surprisingly a little under sweetened. Overall, a stunning classic diner and ice cream heaven. I can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Keri L.

Yelp
I asked our waitress between Egg Sandwich or Monte Cristo? She recommended the latter. The Monte Cristo was delicious and very filling with the fruit too. Sadly didn't have room for ice cream
google avatar

Roxell C.

Yelp
Food was good and came out fast(I didn't get pictures of everything ordered). The service was good and our waitress was very nice. I really love the roasted almond ice cream, and the petite size was definitely good enough for me.

Yelp
Last night our baseball team came in to celebrate a win. I had called ahead to let them know about 20 people would be coming... but I miscounted... we were more like 30+. The manager and his team were beyond accommodating, even adding an extra table in the middle of the store! Beyond how quickly they sat us, our server, Anthony, was phenomenal! He took care of separate checks (for at least 9 families) and there wasn't 1 mistake in any of our orders! The ice cream and food were incredible and our boys had the best time celebrating their hard work. Thank you Fentons!!

Yelp
105 years!!! Fenton's creamery has been around the Bay Area for 1-0-5 years!!! They gotta be doing something right! The Vacaville location is my family's favorite even thought it's an hour away from home. It's right next to the jelly bean store and nut tree railroad plaza. We got the sundae of this month - Cupid delight. That is Strawberry Bark Ice Cream, Dark Chocolate Raspberry Twist Ice ocean, heart shaped sugar cookie with chocolate fudge and . Mmmm Food are delicious. Staffs are funny and friendly. Huge parking lot outside. They make the ice cream right at the store. You can see the high walk in freezer at the back of the dining area.

Yelp
I had to head out early this morning so I did not get a chance to eat breakfast. By the time I made it to Fentons I was hungry!!! Every now and then I like to eat in a reverse order. Today was one of those days. I order my dessert first...a scoop of banana nut ice cream and then my lunch...a classic hamburger with fries. The service from Marian and the vibe was nice. I received my ice cream in less than 5 mins. The server scared me pretty good as I was not expecting service that quick! I try not to eat sugary elites often so when I do I can enjoy them. I really enjoyed my ice cream. They served it with cookies!! That was a nice surprise! They also served my burger just as fast. Unfortunately, I hadn't finished my ice cream. One of the servers saw the confusion on my face and offered to have them remake my order once I was done with my ice cream. My original server seamed a little put off when I explained what happened. I was very appreciative but I felt bad that the order would be thrown away. Food insecurity in the USA is so high. At any rate, I apologized and continued with my ice cream. When my order was brought to me a second time I took the top of the burger to add the lettuce, tomatoes, etc and it looked as if someone bit my burger and placed it back on the bun. Now I really had a confused look on my face. I showed my server and she looked at me as if I had done it. Hoping the 3rd time was a charm I lifted the bun off the burger again, after receiving yet another order and voila...a perfect burger. Some of my fries disappeared off my plate but there was no way I was going to mention that. Marian, my server, did discount my order and the manager stopped by to see if everything was OK. If you visit the Vacaville location be sure to sit in Marian's section. She's very kind, knows the menu and is very fast!! Overall, the service, food and environment was great. I'm glad I stopped in and will do so again when I'm in the area!
