It was a perfect place to have a dinner before the game. Food is on par with my expectation (decent bar food), atmosphere was fantastic, and crews are friendly. I got a hoagie without buns and drumsticks. Only thing I didn’t like was pickles. They need to service better pickles.

Visited on July 13, 2024 Clean fun atmosphere. Right down the street from Fenway ballpark. Good food options. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend. thank you for the good time.

Google
Recommended. Was pretty impressed by this place. Quick service, good food, fair price. In at around 6:00 before a 7:10 Red Sox game. Was worried about the timing but this place, even though it was very busy, served all six of us and got us back out the door in time for the game. We had six different things and everyone thought theirs was very good, including cheesesteak sandwich, sausage dog, grilled chicken sandwich, burger, and Johnnie's meatballs. The meatball plate could have been bigger or maybe had a side, but the others were big portions. Would go back.

My first time experience at Fenway Johnnies was amazing! The food and drinks were delicious. I highly recommend the spinach artichoke dip! Extremely creamy! The service was great, the staff checked in to make sure we were all set through the reservation. Highly recommend coming here before catching a Red Sox game

Google
Great place for a drink or two and a quick bite before a ball game. Service was great, much better than this style of place usually has. The food is good and the menu will keep you interested.

Google
Excellent service and delicious food! It was out stop in for a drink on the way to the Red Sox game once again and then stopped in for dinner this time since the game was rained out. So glad we did! The Mac & Cheese was so creamy and yummy!!

Google
Great spot for food and a pre-game prior to first pitch. The owner here, Johnny, is a GREAT dude. Extremely nice and hospitable.

Google
Great place to grab food before the game. Excellent service!

Yelp
Stopped here for a drink while in Fenway. Upstairs part is always busy, but you can typically get a seat at the bar downstairs. It has a fun atmosphere and the service is always quick and friendly. I have never got food her but the drinks are great. The espresso martini was amazing!

Jennifer K.

Yelp
We came in before a Wednesday night Red Sox game. The staff is fun and all smiles. I ordered an Arnold Palmer and my boyfriend ordered and Long Island. They were both good. Great atmosphere

Pam D.

Yelp
We had a reservation before a concert at Fenway. I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it would be a dive bar. The food is decent pub food, the restaurant is clean, drinks were good and our server, Brie, was outstanding. I'd go back.

Yelp
This place saved our night. We had been given recommendations for places around Fenway, but we couldn't get close to them. Happened to notice Johnnie's and they were able to seat us immediately. We each had burgers and they were great. Really good service from Francisco.

Whitney D.

Yelp
I have been in Boston plenty of times and like to go out and explore different places. This is one bar I have never been to until this past weekend. I came here for my college reunion. We had a fun time and wonderful bartender who was friendly. We had apps that for bar food was pretty tasty. Our event was held downstairs in a pretty big private room area. Drinks were good/ strong. Just a fun vibe all around!

Yelp
Rachel and Kevin gave the best service the drinks were delicious and everything was perfect they were so sweet and they were so quick with everything! 10/10

Yelp
Stopped into Fenway Jonnie's before a Red Sox game on a Tuesday night. The hostesses were very pleasant and greeted us as soon as we walked in. The bar was packed two deep, but they seated us immediately at a high top. Inside was nice. The bar was packed but the restaurant itself had plenty of free space to move around and everything looked very clean. Our waitress introduced herself within a minute or two and brought water. We ordered two drinks and looked over the menu. The Red Bull & Vodka tasted a little off, like it was off-brand or just mixed weird, but it was fine. The Barcadi and Ginger was good (the bar doesn't server Captain Morgans products, we're told). For dinner we ordered the Fenway Burger and Fenway Sausage. The burger was ordered medium, so I expected a slightly pink center, but it wasn't pink at all. It still tasted good, just needed to be cooked a minute or two less. The cheese, onions, pepper, guacamole topping were great. The sausage was amazing. I'd come back for this alone. Absolutely perfect cook and spice level. We tried both the regular friends and the truffle fries. Great crunch on both and very tasty. I'd probably skip the truffle fries next time, the truffle and parmesan were faint enough to almost not be there, so I'd stick with the regular and be happy. All in all, with the close proximity to Fenway Park, the great waitstaff, and the good food, we'll certainly be back.

Yelp
Terrible service - came in before a concert, though not too many people in here, and the waiter brought the wrong beer after asking several times to make sure he got the name right. Food was decent. Waiter never came over again after he took our order.

Kathy L.

Yelp
Best place to be before & after a game or during a Fenway rain out! Strong pours, friendly bar tenders, & Fenway Johnnie is out & about making sure everyone is having a great time! What I didn't know was how amazing the food is! Had the best crab cake outside of Baltimore. Definitely going back for more!

Jeanne S.

Yelp
Great food & excellent service! So close to the stadium makes it a bonus. Walking distance to some great hotels as well.

Jen S.

Yelp
Came here with my cousin earlier in the summer. We got a few apps and drinks. We got in right before the game crowd. By the time we were done, it was packed. Good food, good drinks, good prices. But yes, it gets crowded quickly! They still take care of you though!

Trey W.

Yelp
a BUSSER cleaning tables sucker punched me in the face thinking I was someone else causing him trouble. Luckily he mostly missed and I only had a bloody lip. Regardless, it made no sense, and I was furious. I quickly came to the realization that this busser was clearly VERY intoxicated and out of control with all the bouncers then backing him up-- knowing he messed up bad. Terrible place to go.

Debbie C.

Yelp
The food was soooooo good!!! Highly recommend the Mac & Cheese and the hubby loved the fish and chips. The kids meal burger is a slider with fries so it was perfect for the 3 year old granddaughter.

Fred M.

Yelp
Great place for drinks and apps before the game. Atmosphere is chill and it packs up.

Joy G.

Yelp
This is definitely a Red Sox fan bar. Crazy packed before game time. If you go for nothing else, go for the lobster corn chowder. One of the best "chowduhs" I've ever had. The crab cakes were spectacular. 3 stars because, we're Giants fans and we were in town to see them play. This place is pretty hostile toward "visitors". Weird vibe. This was honestly the only place in Boston that treated us that way.

Dan B.

Yelp
I was simply joking around and nobody took me seriously. But the manager and the GM both confronted me for joking. Again, nobody took anything seriously. But the manager and the GM were interfering with my attempts to get to my friends gf in the bathroom. It was like they were blaming me for her having a good amount of drinks. This place sucks!

Maiya S.

Yelp
There are more staff than people, sad excuse for a bar and they have a 10 dollar cover fee, don't go if u what a good time

Alanna M.

Yelp
Overall it was a great experience! There are a few things they can work on. The drinks were great. Tried a slushy, espresso martini (wasn't as strong as I'm used to, and wasn't the same flavor I'm used to), an Irish coffee and mimosa. The Irish coffee was poorly presented. It was Whiskey in cheap coffee, not a great coffee flavor, and came out black. I'm used to Irish coffee coming with half/half but that was missing, so had to ask for the creamer and some sugar. Also had to ask for a spoon. The food: tried the Benedict Florentine, pancake, chicken and waffles and the house salad. The chicken and waffles were strange bc they were wings, so hard to get the actual chicken plus waffle in one bite, but the wings were delicious. The house salad (half) was $7 and I would say could go down in price a little for the offering provided. The Benedict was good, nice home style potatoes. One large pancake for the side. The ambiance was 11/10, Sunday LIVE reggae was amazing and brought a nice vibe on a sunny morning. The place was bumpin with happy people. The service was great, mostly attentive, and brought a lot of water when we were running low.

Yelp
I have to say I'm very sad that I have to give 2 stars for my recent experience here. Myself and one other person visited before the zac brown band concert, an incredibly busy time at any restaurant in the area. We chose johnnies since I knew they had decent food as well as drinks, based on my experience at the west end location. We miraculously were able to snag two seats at the bar without waiting for long. The bar seemed pretty clean and efficient, ignoring the group of maybe 15 fruit flies that were incessantly flying around the sink that was near us. We got the chipotle fries which were delicious and a nice sharing size. The bartender who was tending to our area of the bar was great, really on top of her game. Until she wasn't. When we arrived, the other person in my party immediately ordered 2 shots and opened a tab for herself, when we ordered the food about 10 minutes later, I then opened up my own tab as well. The bartender had both of our cards and both of our tabs were open. It's important to note that I never ordered anything for the second person that was with me, and vice versa. We each ordered our own drinks, on our own tabs. As the concert was starting soon we ask her to close us out. We get the receipts back with our cards and she had charged EVERYTHING but ONE shot to my tab instead of to the correct tabs. This is mind boggling as well because my friend ordered 2 shots together to start her tab to begin with, so how in the world one of the shots even got on my tab- my tab which didn't even exist yet when the shots were ordered, as I did not give the bartender my card for my tab until after! Never mind the fact that she had overcharged me $75, when I tried to get her attention (we're still sitting in the barstools directly in front of her) she ignores us. The other bartender essentially forces her to acknowledge us, and I inform her the bills are not correct. Her response: well I already ran the cards so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I work in the service industry as well, and in any traditional pos system you can 100% fix this issue. Even if for some wild reason their system doesn't do that, she really shrugged off that she had overcharged me $75. I don't care if it's incredibly busy, there's never a justified reason to overcharge someone and not try to rectify the situation whatsoever, let alone say sorry.

Yelp
We were greeted and brought to a table and I'm assuming a bartender gave us water (which tasted like blueberries? Not sure why). We had a waitress come over and take our drinks. After we got them, it was about 15 min until someone came over to see if we wanted food- we put guacamole in. Someone else brought it out and then we waited at least 30 min for yet a different waitress to come take our orders. We ate and were sitting there for at least 45 min and nobody checked on us. We had waited for someone to come over but they were all sitting at the bar talking or on their phones. We had to ask and needed to pay the bill because we had somewhere we needed to be. Tables around us were getting served and we weren't and it wasnt even busy. We finally had to ask to get the check... after a lot of time. If we walked out nobody would have even noticed. I probably wont come here again.

Yelp
You have to try this place it's a must for before and after Sox's games.. probably even a good place to watch the game if you don't have tickets. Beers cocktails and food all really good with awesome bartenders and wait staff

Davetta K.

Yelp
Came here for a silent party, party was great drinks were legit shit! just don't even bother unless you pregame HARD before or your paying $10 for a chaser ‍ However, the staff were nice and friendly and they interacted well.

Ana H.

Yelp
Ong so bad I went after a game and it was so horrible. The line was long and then there was a 20 dollar cover and then we waited 20 minutes for drinks and the bartender just ignored us so we left. Don't go here unless you want to be treated horribly LOL. Also an underage bar where everyone's puking in the bathroom. Rip

Yelp
I hosted a large group event at Fenway Johnnies and the service here was fantastic! We had a dedicated section of the restaurant for us and between the manager and bar staff they took very good care of us. We liked the vibe at the restaurant, high energy but not too rowdy around the early evening. Check it out and bring a group of your friends along too!

Dakota F.

Yelp
This is my first time at Fenway Johnnies, and I loved it. John the owner came up to us and was jusy the nicest guy and was really engaged in us. I got the Johnnie Burger with a side of truffle fries. I also got a side of the molasses honey spicy sauce that they put on their wings and it was out of this world. Service was great l, our server was so nice. It is just very loud in there with the music and the crowd before a Red Sox game. Overall, make your way over, because it's one of the best burgers I've had in a while! Yelp
Came here before catching a Sox game last week. Unfortunately I don't have anything nice to say. The food literally tasted like it had come from the freezer and been thrown in the microwave before serving - the calamari I ordered smelt so fishy, was rubbery and bland. The beers were bordering on room temperature and the lime I was given for my corona was old and non-squeezable. The only positive I took away from this place was the restroom which was clean and cubicles are spacious.

Madeline R.

Yelp
Not much to say. Pretty bad service and basically zero crowd, if you're looking for a fun time. Also, point blank rejected my 25 year old friend's out of state ID because it was "fake". Without any point of verification to check. Needless to say we won't be returning.

Allison M.

Yelp
This place sticks in my mind for all the wrong reasons. One word: confusing. We walked in because I saw $1 oysters. The red Sox game was cancelled and apparently they only honor it during that time. So kudos to the establishment for false advertisement. We brushed it off and decided to check it out. The place looks really cool, they have couches, pool tables, high top tables and a huge bar. However there was country music playing with a gaming show on. The bartender was pretty terrible. I ordered one of their custom drinks and I will steer clear of that. The drink was called madeket beach. I ordered the French onion soup and it tasted like the cook dumped an entire salt shaker into the pot. I couldn't even finish it. There were a total of 4 people in the place. 2 girls at high tops and us. He spent almost the entire time outside of the bar flirting with the 2 ladies. My impression was so bad that I won't be back when visiting Boston. It's a shame too, because the location was great. However there are other far better places to attend.

Yelp
We've been here twice now, both on days when the Sox were playing. The first visit was a couple of weeks ago. My husband had the fried chicken sandwich and I had the swordfish BLT. Both were delicious and we were well satisfied. Last Friday night could not have been worse. Hubby ordered the burger with no special sauce, I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. Hubby's burger showed up covered in sauce. Luckily his fries were hand cut and delicious. My sandwich came drowned in yucky coleslaw (I love coleslaw), the bun was so soggy and drenched it was inedible and the homemade chips I was so looking forward to were soggy and bendable. We're going to give it another shot to see if our second visit was an off night. We're cheering for you Fenway Johnnie!

David L.

Yelp
I was going to give this 3 stars, but more realistically it's about at a 2.5. The atmosphere is actually really nice - thoughtful decor and fitting for the area (Fenway, of course). We visited on a Friday evening for halftime apps and it was surprisingly slow (maybe was a sign?). The service was very good, but there were only about 6 of us at the bar, and maybe 15 in the restaurant total - so I would hope they'd be on top of things. The real downfall was the food - the fish specifically. Was inedible. The chips and guacamole was average at best and the ribs were very fatty. Just didn't seem like a ton of care was put into anything. Great spot if you're in Fenway and want to grab a quick beer, but wouldn't recommend a dinner date.

Kaitlin J.

Yelp
Great food and service. I have difficult allergies and our server, Linda, was super helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend this restaurant to family and friends based on service and food.

Erica W.

Yelp
BEST Bar/Lounge closest to Fenway! Reasonably priced, amazing food and stellar service! Strongly recommended if on a budget while waiting for a game or for a good dinner by the park! Little to no wait time!!

Karyn R.

Yelp
Service was super quick and attentive. WAY better than the slanted skirts that were here before. Out bartender was ready w a cocktail as we were taking our last sip! Nice job! Great way to pregame!

Lexi J.

Yelp
I was with a friend and she was asked for an ID. He looked at it and asked for a back up. When she gave it, he still said her federal ID was fake (even though it had the same name on it). He could have simply scanned the ID to prove it was real but instead they kicked her out. This was absurd. When I tried to suggest he could scan it or tried to say anything at all, he was extremely rude and cut me off. I don't suggest going here if you at all look young, plus at least one member of staff is extremely rude.

Lizzie P.

Yelp
I've never in my life been treated so poorly by a bartender. I asked if they had any snacks and was told by the bartender "I'm not going to f***ing target to get you snacks". So I said, well...can I at least have a menu? Then I was told no but you can have the check. Guess you shouldn't ask for a menu at the bar... needless to say, I will not be returning here because I have never been so disrespected before. I asked to speak to the manager who did absolutely nothing about his rude entitled employee. This place has terrible service!!!

Charlie M.

Yelp
One of the best bars in the Fenway area. Huge dance floor, awesome bartenders, great DJ. You really can't ask for anything better during a night out.

Abigail K.

Yelp
Had an awesome experience! Evan was extremely personable and was a great bartender. Would highly recommend for an after work cocktail and weekend hangout.

Jonathan B.

Yelp
I honestly had a great time until these kicked me out for no reason. Me and a friend were hitting up the dance floor and then on my way back from the bathroom they told me that my friend and I had to leave. Will never come back.

Jacob B.

Yelp
I was having a great time, drinking and dancing with the other patrons, when I was told to leave. I can only assume it was because I was dancing in my culturally appropriate way. I would never come here again and would definitely tell others like me to never come to this bar unless they are ready for racial prejudice.

Nicole L.

Yelp
Fantastic location, great menu, and a new exciting spot for nightlife in the Fenway area. Looking forward to trying Sunday brunch. Love West End Johnnies, and this is another hit!

C M.

Yelp
If I could give this place a negative rating I would! I was trying to get a bite to eat before a concert when the door man told us it was an hour wait and "not to bother."We decided to go in for a beer and check with the hostess how long the wait was. She told us 2 hrs so we didn't put our name in for a table. At any given moment There were at least 6 open tables with reserved cards but no one ever sat down. I mentioned that to the hostess and she said she waits 30 MIN before giving up a reserved table. THIRTY! Even the finest restaurants only give a 15 min window. I TT one of the waitstaff and they said the hostess ALWAYS does that and mngt does nothing about it. When we were about to leave, after 45 min, a nice couple sat down at one of the reserved tables. Out of curiosity I asked how long she waited and if she had a reservation and she said 10 min no reservation!!! The amount of $ U lost last night was probably in the thousands! This place won't last w 20 y/o twits at the front of the house. (Wait staff was Very nice)
