Fenwick Crab House

The food was VERY good. I got the lunch special shrimp tacos (2), even though it was a little after 2:30; they still allowed me to get the lunch special, which came with a coke and a bag if chips all for $12.95. There were two shrimps on each taco, and they were decent sized. I think a third shrimp on each would have made it perfect, but as is it was still very good! The crab bread bowl appetizer was delicious, as was the double cheeseburger meal, and the softshell crab club. My mother is from out of state and had never had one before, and she was not ready for the entire crab on her sandwich! She loved it, though! Debbie was a quick and efficient server. The bathrooms were nice, and the ladies room had salt scrub for hands, which was amazing and also purchasable. I bought the Key Lime Salt Scrub for our condo bathroom. They also had coconut and cucumber as scents as well. Overall a great experience. Highly recommend.

Be ready to be patient if you go this summer. They're short-handed as so many places are. We waited quite a while to be served. Our waitress was friendly and helpful even so. Shrimp tacos were very good. Sweet potato fries seemed like they would have been really good but they were lukewarm unfortunately. Many people got the crabs so lots of hammering. Friendly place in general but if you want your food quickly, get take out.

We ate there about two weeks ago and I ordered the Captain's Crab Haul. This was an awesome meal comprised of crab legs, blue crab, shrimp, corn on the cob & fried chicken. A real treat that was more than enough for a seafood lover such as myself. Parking was a little bit of a pain even though we got there before the dinner rush (4:30ish) however when we left the line was long to get a table. Smaller than expected and we sat in the "overflow" room past the bar to the right. Only gripe I have there is wish they would put a TV or something to watch while waiting for our meal which was a little long, I thought. But our waitress was great & came to check on us several times for drink refills while we waited and chatted a little. She was great and that offset the longer time. Great serving, normal price for area & really great tasting seafood food. Fenwick Crab House gets 5 stars from me! P.S. - there is for blue crabs underneath all that food in the picture. Update 8/12/23 Returned for the Fenwick Feast and had another marvelous dinner. Alaskan crab was sweet, blue crabs were medium & heavy, shrimp were spicy with Old Bay, & the fried chicken was great. I really enjoy that combo meal. Love ordered Snow Crab with sides and said they were great also. Staff were friendly & courteous as usual. Oh also try their soup selection as an app, you won't regret it. The first picture was deleted, I am posting the latest picture from our last visit.

Fired chicken and crab legs were perfect. Honestly, best meal I’ve had down here. Waiter was wonderful. All around, great.

Loved this place! Our waiter (I think his name was Conner) was excellent! My husband had lobster tail, salmon and fried soft crab and he said it was delicious. I had the crab imperial and it was the best I ever had, no joke. No green peppers which I hate in crab imperial. All lump crab meat in a perfect sauce and broiled to perfection. The drinks were also very good. Fresh fruit in their crushes made them soooo refreshing! We went on a Saturday 7/31 about 5:30 and were seated right away. It started to get busier while we were there though so be prepared. We will definitely be back again!

Absolutely DELICIOUS!!! My wife and I ordered the Chef's special, 12 Crabs, 2 Fried Chickens, Hush puppies and Corn cob. We were definitely blown away! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars! Crabs were fresh and seasoned well. Fried chicken were very tasty and crunchy. Hush puppies were moist with subtle sweetness. Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was very nice. They also offer a exfoliating soap scrub which removes the fishy smell quick and would soften your hands! I highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

I'm not familiar with the area but this is the only place we could find that served steamed crabs in-house on weekends. It was great! The all you can eat feast included crabs (of course), corn, hush puppies... And Fried Chicken!! Delicious.

Man, great food! We had a large party of people and the service was handled well for such a large group. I had the shrimp app and the lobster tails. Fantastic. Everyone was well pleased

Went for dinner there r last week always come here every time I'm in Fenwick very friendly staff the owner she spoke to me and thanked me for coming in she said she liked my original Fenwick Crab House T-shirt from years ago the food is really good. I got the crab legs hush puppies, and corn on the cob the other family members that was with me, got the crab imperial with french fries definitely recommend this place to anybody who staying in the Fenwick area of the best seafood I've ever had at the beach I never leave here hungry is there other seafood restaurants in Fenwick i've tried them all but I don't go to the others anymore. They're not as good as this place. The food is better here then at the others seafood restaurants in Fenwick.

Overall the Food was subpar.... MD Crab soup was good Service was mediocre at best Was hoping for more...had soft crab sandwich, burger, watermelon salad and 3 Jumbo Steamed crabs...one of which was mealy...at $10 each. The place was dirty...and I swear the owner was sitting with friends right behind us...should have been managing the quality and presentation of the food and making sure the place was clean. Boo...was so looking forward to a great MD (or DE as it was) meal (all the way back to the Beach from Utah)

Great atmosphere, very clean and open concept. Server was nice and attentive. Food was really good. Large and Medium Crabs were full and seasoned well. Fried chicken and shrimp had great taste! 4:30pm to 5pm best time to go. Will make a return visit.

they have the best crab cakes I've ever had In my whole life and the service was excellent. They were so nice to us and they served us so well. the place was beautiful. It is very clean like I don't know how to word it like they kept the whole place beautiful and yeah.

1. Food - not bad at all. 2. Service - wow... I don't think you could call it service. I never went to a business where they act like your mere presence offends them. 3. The place was completely empty. Probably because of #2. Never again.

Nice atmosphere staff was very nice and friendly. Fried chicken special was very good and good price. Crab cake was ok kinda fishy tasting.

We live up the highway a bit and are always looking to support the smaller locally-owned restaurants in the area, especially the ones we could walk to in a pinch. This was a miss. When the most appealing aspect of your meal was the homemade coleslaw, that's not good. I ordered the twin 4oz crabcake platter with two sides ($33). The salad arrived in a bowl the size of a coffee cup with lettuce that was brown on the edges and appeared to have been poured out of a bag. The crabcakes are advertised as "lump" crab, I can assure you after having eaten hundred of crabcakes, there wasn't a piece of lump crab to be found in them. Way more filler than crab and the filler was over-salted. As stated, the coleslaw was killer, it came in a plastic ramekin half the size of a scoop of ice cream. My wife ordered the jumbo crabcake sandwich. Everything on her plate was, not lukewarm but cool to the touch. She had to ask our server for another order of fries which came out quickly and were the way they should have been when the plate was initially presented. The quality of the crabcake on her sandwich was no better than mine. I asked JJ for some specifics about the advertised Happy Hour. "Oh, the bartender isn't here, he usually deals with that", and walked away. It is advertised on the window as available every day, but yesterday, not so much. I'm sad as I'm in search of a place with a decent crabcake now that Woodies is engaged in the "every time I go there" the crabcake looks smaller game. This place won't be getting any more of my money.

During a visit to Fenwick Island, we stopped for a family dinner at the Fenwick Crab House. And of course, we had the All-You-Can-Eat crabs. Dozens and dozens of medium-sized crabs, well-seasoned and warm, and it came with AYCE corn on the cob, hush puppies, and fried chicken. And you could make the argument that Fenwick Crab House could sell AYCE fried chicken and they'd be successful! Deeelicious! If you have a hungry, crab-loving crowd, get on over to Fenwick Crab House and fill your belly with goodness!

Positive: can accommodate large groups and service was good Negative: Food is very mediocre. The picture is what they called strawberry shortcake and charged $8.95 for? If you want "okay" food and good service with a large group, this is your place. Parking is also good. But you will be underwhelmed by the food

Back again this year for God's fried chicken to go and couldn't be more pleased. Food is great and the bar service was amazing!

Pretty good overall. Service was a bit slow considering they were not busy. Cream of crab soup was just not good at all and no crab in it. Jumbo crabs were huge though and $125 a dozen (seemingly good for the area)

Went for dinner Friday night with friends. After waiting forever for our appetizers, the entrees came out simultaneously, but the salad never came. When my wife asked the owner/bartender, Dani, for a status. Dani answered "I will get to you after I take care of the table that ordered $160 of crabs." My wife left. After settling our bill, I handed it to Dani and told her we'd never come back to her restaurant again due to her rudeness. She responded with the most vile obscenity you can imagine, within earshot of multiple tables with families. I have never witnessed a business owner, anywhere, react with such offensive language. It must be sad for someone to walk around with such vitriol in her heart that she can conjure up that language in response to an unsatisfied customer. It is painfully apparent that Dani should not be in the hospitality industry.

Our first place we dined for dinner during our stay in Ocean City. We were seated right away. Place looks fun, has a bar to order drinks. Our waiter was Shawn, he was cool and very welcoming, asking where we were from. He went over the menu which was kinda small, once I told him we were interested in crabs he suggest the plate for two which was 4 crabs, 2 snow crab clusters, 1/2 pound of shrimp, 4 pieces of fried chicken, 2 Cole slaws, 2 corn on the cob, 2 starter small salads. All of the low price of $59.00. This was of great value. They didn't have our corn so they replaced it with a few more shrimp. Now now critique of the food. The blue crabs were flavorless very bland the meat. Two of the four crabs were a little mushy and tasted washed out. The snow crab was fine, the shrimp were delicious had good flavor, wish the crabs were made like these. The fried chicken was good, the Cole slaw could have been fresher, the side salads were delicious really liked the white balsamic dressing almost taste like mines that I make at home. Only reason I didn't give a 5 star review is the flavor of the crabs, and was given no bibs or wipes to clean our hands when we left. I would go back.

Great crab cakes and chowder. Nice selection of draft beer. Very affordable prices. Check times before you go, they opened later than posted on line. Staff was very helpful and friendly

Did takeout. Large crabs were good. Hubs enjoyed his crab cake sandwich. Cream of crab soup had decent flavor but could have used more crab meat IMO and less of the thickening agent. When I went to pick up food, the woman bartender with glasses and blonde bob haircut took care of me. She was miserable AF and had an attitude when I asked if I could get condiments with my order. I think she needed a Snickers. Or maybe a whole new job.

We are visiting from New York and the food was delicious. We had crab balls and wings as an appetizer. They were so good. Our dinner was Crab sandwich and fried shrimp. Everything was fresh and mouthwatering. The service from Shaun was phenomenal. He made us feel welcome and at home. He was the best.

we only gave it a try bc there was no wait and all of our fist choices were full bc of the Holliday. The Lunch Menu Was Limited from the start, they were out of half of the crab items, including the items we tried to order. The crab Meat on the pretzel (the one item we ordered they actually had) was very grey and old looking... The pretzel was decent/the crab dip was horrible. The waiter was wonderful-- the owner/manger was obnoxiously rude and unprofessional. If you end up here, I hope you have a better experience than i did‍

The service was great! The food was decent! I had a 4oz Crab Cake and a half rack of ribs The Crab Cake was lightly seasoned not the best ever down at the shore actually had better in Central PA the 1/2 Rack of Ribs were fall off the bone slow roasted and tender I wanted them with a dry rub but they came out completely dry with put a rub on them.but they were still delicious I had BBQ sauce on the side! Sides were Red Potatoes and Green Beans both were delicious. The better half had the Fried Shrimp which were large and plentiful not overly breaded she had Cole Slaw and Hush Puppies with it! Our server Shawn did a great job and overall the place was really clean and tables were separated to provide social distancing.

Happy Hour 3-6 pm. Shrimp tacos are real deal. Not your fried seafood. Onions, avocado,shaved broccoli ? & shrimp marinated in citrus. Everyone was very helpful & nice. Lots of seating & bar area was comfy. Looking forward to return visit.

Been coming here for 10+ years multiple times a week when we stay in Fenwick... continues to be a favorite! Ev thing is excellent!

I don't usually write a review after just one visit but I'm making an exception for this terrific family owned place because they deserve as much word of mouth recommendation as possible. Dad is chef/owner and son works front of house. We went for lunch and were the only customers there the entire hour. We want to see them crammed with patrons and hugely successful! First, we were thrilled to find out that their dinner menu was available in addition to the more limited lunch options. It would probably help business if they advertised this as I've heard that the evening service is better attended. We started with 2 appetizers: the Fenwick wings which were delicious and the Steamed (Spiced) Shrimp which were served with onions-very nice! I was in the mood for a small hamburger and was thrilled to see that the menu allows for custom sizes. I got the single at only $8 and still could not eat it all. It was served beautifully charred on a toasted brioche roll-excellent! Hubby got the fried Haddock and started making little moaning noises with the first bite (that's how I know he is in a very happy place-haha) He said it was one of the best ever and so, of course, I had to try. It was superb! The fries were boardwalk style beauties-one of the best around. It is amazing in this town with a reputation for great fries how many places serve limp, disappointing ones. They are important to me and I have been known to avoid places with inferior ones. These were the bomb! Cole slaw was decent but not a draw in itself. I have been known to seek out places strictly for their fantastic cole slaw (Barbely's, Harborside, PGN) The bottom line is that this place is terrific! Service was excellent! The ambiance is nice and every table set up for steamed crabs (which we will try soon) They have house made Eastern Shore Fried Chicken (one of my obsessions) so that is on my list for next time. It is wonderful to find another culinary gem amidst the tourist places...and we hope everyone will go try them out!

My wife and I ventured out to this restaurant for the first time and we will return for sure! The restaurant was clean, the food was AMAZING, and the service was impeccable. Our Waiter Sean made us feel at home and was super attentive and friendly.

Went there to get take out ,whoever took my order was very rude and when I went to pick up the order the woman behind the bar acted like we ruined her day because she had to get our order,the food was good but there are too many places around that actually want our business.we have been going there for over thirty years and that was true worst service ever and it was pick up.,not too difficult to get a bag and run a credit card .we will never go back if you don't like your job then find something that you don't have to deal with customers.

So we walk in this restaurant at 8pm driving from New York hungry and tired we was greeted by Sean who was a fabulous host his spirit and personality was great we ask him what's good on menu he suggested the crab cakes, shrimp meal and the honey old bay wings each item was great 5 thumbs up to the cook, we must come again thank you Fenwick crab house for great food

I've never been treated so rudely before. The person (who I later found out was the owner), tending bar took her time coming over to us and another couple- the bar was not busy. she loudly proclaimed, "I'm taking my time, and if anyone has a problem with it- oh well, I'm the owner. Once she finally came over to us, there was no greeting- she literally stood in front of us glaring. Then accused my almost 80 year old father of having an attitude by the way he was standing. I ordered 2 beers, before she even served us, barked out the total, and waited for her money- I stupidly tipped her. The couple next to us were wide eyed at the exchange. Had my two daughters not been starving- I would have walked out. The only thing that potentially saved this night was the adorable server, full of bright personality. The food was sub-par at best; a FAR cry from the "perfect crab cake" that is touted on their website. Save your money and go elsewhere...ANYwhere else!

Update: for insight into why this restaurant struggles, see how the owner reacts to reviews. For mine, he replied: "Don't need your uppity NoVA opinion cheap ass." I kind of feel sorry for him, but more so for his employees. My original post: There's a reason this place isn't packed when others are. Food by Northern VIrginia standards was pretty bad. The water served as we sat was also really bad, as if something in the water lines leached (note the discolored bathroom sink and toilets). To make matters worse, some ordinary entrees were over $20.

We had the best crabs I think we had all summer from the Fenwick crab house. Heavy and perfectly seasoned. The owner was so accommodating for us, as we had a very large carryout order, including mussels, littleneck clams, steamed shrimp and more. Carter was also a great waiter for us when we have dined in for crab cakes - don't miss this place. Everything was excellent! We will be back for more :)

Have been going to Fenwick Crab House for years. Always enjoy it. Many great memories of good times with family and friends. It is an unpretentious crab house with good food and adequate pleasant service.

The Sam Elliot-looking bartender, wearing an Old Bay ball cap, provided a pleasant contrast to the churlish blonde typically behind the bar. I will return more often now.

MD crab soup plus 4 hard shell steamed crabs plus homemade peach cobbler plus great service for $30! Can't beat it.

Terrible food, ordered 6 oz crab cake sandwich and sweet potato fries, if what I got was 6oz I hate to see the 4oz option. Noisy, dirty place stay away many many other options. Our Harvest or Just Hooked now they have fresh produce and seafood. This place low quality, don't waste your $ or time. Everything tasted bland, crab cake lacked crabmeat mostly filler.

Went to Fenwick Crab House tonight. We had the misfortune of being treated very poorly by a horribly mean/angry bartender. We never even had a chance to have a drink. We walked in at 5 pm to a totally empty bar ... we found out shortly why. We wanted to have a little happy hour and dinner for my husbands birthday. He works at a cool restaurant in Berlin and served today so he was definitely up for a leisurely happy hour and meal. We picked fenwick crab house since we hadn't been there yet. Although we were the only customers at the bar, we were quite the inconvenience. The "bartender" ... we were later told she is the owner's wife ... she asked us if we had the happy hour menu and we did. We asked what the gin was in the martini and this set her off. She became obviously agitated and said "rail gin". I asked what the rail brand was, since some rail liquor I like and some I don't. She literally walked away shaking her head, verbally complaining about us and gesturing with her hands. She then held up a bottle from about 30 feet away. Which I couldn't see. At this point we were so shocked we just stared, jaw dropped, in disbelief. Then she slammed the bottle back into the rail. My hub and I looked at each other and we're like " what in the world". We decided to leave because she was behaving horribly. It escalated and we asked to see the owner because the aggression continued as she said "go drink your $5 martinis somewhere else". Holy cow! It was crazy town! We asked the hostess to see the owner and was told "He" was in the kitchen. She then told the staff in the bar area to ignore us and told us she was the owner. She then told them to scatter when I asked again for the owner. As locals we have a lot of choices where to dine and find some great spots we enjoy all year around. This will not be one of them. As a family in the business we know how to treat people and this isn't it. This was bad, really really bad. So disappointed. We ended up down the street at Fins and it was great!!! Uggg so very strange!

Lots of seafood and other things in the menu. We got a dozen jumbo blue crabs which were heavy and delicious. They broiled soft shell crabs for my mother. We were happy. Recommended

Everything was delicious! We started with the crab pretzel... delicious! Moved on to stuffed shrimp and crab cakes... delicious! Maybe the best crab cakes I've ever had! Not one bit of breading, and next time, I'll order the 6 oz crabcakes do I can take a whole one home. The waiter, Shawn, was delightful...he apparently really likes working there. Really glad we finally went into this placed I'd passed so many times!

I realize we're in the time of COVID but the owner ("nasty blonde woman behind the bar" as you can read in SEVERAL bad reviews below) was so rude to me last night! I've never seen anything like it. I innocently asked if I was standing in the right spot to be seated and she went on to attack me like it's my fault I don't know where to stand or her difficulties seating people. I would never give them my business again. And I've been coming here with my family since I was a child in the 80s. The crab cakes, decor and quality had already been trending down since 2-3 years ago but the absolute nastiness of the owner guarantees I'll never ever go back. I wonder how many other former loyal customers have thought the same. What a shame. To the owner: please switch to a different profession, you're clearly not suited for work with the general public. UPDATE: Please see owner's childish response below. That should confirm my post. Wow.

I have been going to Fenwick Island on family vacations my whole life. As such, we have frequently gone to Fenwick Island crab house for crab feasts. We have never been disappointed. They are always excellent, fresh, and friendly. Definitely the best spot to go for a real, traditional old school crab house. What really compelled me to write a review is something beyond their delicious food. Yesterday I went crabbing and came home with a bushel and to a house full of hungry family. However, disaster struck when my steamer was discovered to be out of commission. I called Fenwick Island Crab House in desperation. Ted was incredibly sympathetic and told meet him at the back door. He and his staff jumped into action steaming my crabs, and even offered to season them. When I picked them up, I tried to slip them a $20, but they REFUSED to take it. This is the type of restaurant that is truly a neighborhood treasure and what makes the community so great. Easy five stars, and they've earned my business forever.

And then the owners replies and tells us to go elsewhere. Fine.... And we will gladly spread this and your ignorant business practice to the 8000 people on our Jeep clubs News letter as we plan on going to OC in 3 weeks for Jeep Week. "I'm sorry, please come in for a free lunch and let us make it up to you" would have been a much better response. And the correct word is "their", not "there"

I have been coming to the area all my life, and up until a month ago, never stopped in. It's easy to miss if you're not on the hunt, but has now become one of our go-to's. We settled on our home a month ago, and have gotten to know Dani, the owner (along with her husband), and MAN, does she make everyone feel welcome and appreciated. Have sat a the bar, sat in the restaurant, had entrees, and have also done crabs. EVERYTHING has been topnotch, and Dani makes us want to come back, time after time. This is definitely becoming one of "our spots"...My husband, Matt, and I will soon consider ourselves regulars :-)

Great quality crabs. Even the mediums were supper full and buttery. The hush puppies were really good as well and had powdered sugar on top. They don't require masks here for staff or customers which makes me feel iffy, but overall a great experience. Dina and her husband were lovely and treat everyone like family. Made sure to stop at our table and chat with us. Felt like a real homey environment!

This is not a crab house. I say that because they have a very nice mostly seafood menu and almost everything else we ate was fair to good. It was in the crabs that Fenwick Crab House failed miserably. We did not have to wait and the environment was pleasant. Service was prompt. Prices were reasonable, and they had an excellent selection of beers. Several of us had appetizers, although our server was not really able to tell us what was and was not gluten free, for my daughter who has celiac disease. For appetizers we had a blue cheese wedge, excellent and generous; some honey old baby Buffalo wings, very tasty and large but a little overdone. I ordered an appetizer called "middlenecks" which advertised a dozen middle neck clams with a sauce of butter, shallots, and white wine. What I actually got was a dish of about 24 little neck clams with the same sauce, accompanied by a little loaf of tasty french bread. It was actually quite tasty, but they should have told me about the substitution. And now we come to the main course. There were four of us and we ordered a dozen large crabs for $90, actually a reasonable price these days, and something called the Captains Crab Haul, a dinner for two for $54.95 it was really a very good deal and came with two salads, four pieces of fried chicken (very good and cooked to tender and juicy inside but somewhat burned on the outside, like the oil was too hot. It also included two ears of corn, sweet and delicious, 1/2 pound of steamed shrimp, excellent, two clusters of snow crab legs, also excellent, two containers of coleslaw, good flavor but too much mayonnaise and four medium crabs, in addition to the dozen larges. The crabs were served in a big wide bowl and left that way on the table rather than dumping out on the paper and I could see right away that the seasoning was too light and irregular. They were also pushing the very bottom of what anyone would consider large. A few crabs looked typically seasoned and many had no seasoning on them at all. The first crab my wife had was no good, mushy with a fishy unfresh smell. I said, don't get excited. It can happen to anyone. I opened my first and it was badly under seasoned but also lacking that sweetness of a fresh hot crab. I put it to my nose and got a milder version of the same ammoniacal past it's prime seafood smell. Just then a waiter came by and asked how everything was. We indicated we had two bad crabs and he promised to replace them. We tried to keep going but it just went from bad to worse. A couple of crabs were edible but I never finished one. I actually had to spit out a mouthful on the third one I tried. We said, well maybe there's a problem with the larges and we tried the four mediums that came with the Captain's Haul and one was edible. We were just explaining to our waitress that the whole batch was no good when the other guy showed up with two brand new actually quite large looking crabs and decided to try them. One was merely unfresh. the other was foul, like wipe your tongue on a paper towel gross. At this point we had lost all confidence. Our waitress told us the manager was going to make us a fresh batch and we said we'd rather just take them off the bill and be done. Do you know that through that whole thing the unseen manager, whom we asked to see in person, never had the nerve to show his face! In the end they took off the dozen large crabs, took off nothing for the four mediums in our Captains Haul that we didn't eat, and didn't comp us so much as a drink or dessert. People this is what you get if you steam crabs that are already dead. But the same person who did that also didn't apply the seasoning correctly and served them in a bowl. That's why I say that Fenwick Crab House might have the makings of a good seafood restaurant, but it is a CHINO, a Crabhouse In Name Only.

My family has been going to this restaurant for years as we used to own a condo at the beach a few blocks away. The restaurant is old and on my last two visits there has been a stench in the air of oldness and disinfectant. Also, on my last two visits I went mainly because I telephoned first and was told they had Jumbo crabs and, on both occasions, I was served large crabs and was told they were jumbo. I didn't complain because they were heavy and prepared well but when the table next to me ordered the "feast" and it came with a dozen crabs the same size as what they called Jumbo, I felt cheated. While the shells were still on the table, I asked my server what size crabs were being served at the next table and he replied, "extra-large." Well extra-large was not even an option either on the menu or the "feast". People are not stupid, and they don't go to a crab house and order steamed crabs when they have never had them and are not experienced. I was raised in Maryland and have been eating blue crabs almost my entire life, so do not give me a large crab and tell me it's jumbo because I have had jumbo before. On the other hand, many of the other crab restaurants have all you can eat and are serving medium and small crabs and in some cases are not cooking them live. At least at Fenwick Crab House they have no minimum and at least their crabs are bigger than most, but I don't like the game they play with the jumbos. Cocktails are well made, and their honey old bay chicken wings are excellent. Cream of Crab Soup was mediocre at best and served cold. Broiled Flounder was bland and somewhat mushy. It is doubtful that I would ever return given the deception.

Review #800 The Fenwick Crabhouse was one of my favorite food stops on our vacation to Dewey Beach. Thanks to our May visit, the restaurant was practically empty so we had no trouble with a wait. I ordered the Softshell Crab BLT Club, which came with crab, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. It was really unique and delicious. The price was good for the quality too. Now normally this comes with a side of fries, but the waitress let me substitute hush puppies!!! They were amazing and delicious and so much better than any potato will ever be. Everyone else was extremely happy with their meals as well. The service was very good, and our waitress went above and beyond. The kitchen is slow so don't come in a rush. We just came for dinner and to hang out so it was perfect.

I really wanted to like this place because generally speaking I've been quite disappointed with the food in the Fenwick Island area, but unfortunately the same trend with this place. The wait was long, even with many open tables inside. Our guess is its due to lack of staff. But, whatever ... if it the food is good, things like that can be overlooked somewhat. Too bad the food was unappetizing and portions small. My wife ordered the softshell crab sandwich, and it had a very off taste ... like they did not clean it right or it was a bad crab. To not be rude with guests, we just dealt with it, but for a crab house, this is highly unacceptable. For myself, I got the chicken and crab cake platter. The fried chicken was actually not bad, and the crab cake was decent too, though small. However, the fries were greasy and limp, as if they were made in a huge batch and hour before ordering or something. Very disappointing. My friend ordered the market fish platter, and got a super small fillet ... even the waiter admitted it was a bit small. Wtf. One of my sons ordered the cheeseburger kids meal, and did not finish it due to dryness and greasy fries. The only upside was the waiter greeted us and tried his best. We think he was a newer employee and saw him putting up a good effort and smiling. It rare for me, but I can't recommend this place at all. Slow service. Small portions. Sub-par food ... look elsewhere for a meal.

If you're going down to Ocean City, I highly recommend Fenwick Crab House if you're looking for some super delicious crabs (and other food). Of course Maryland is known for their crabs, but it's really how they're prepared that counts. Phillips, Crab Bag, and all the others have nothing on this joint. Everything I've tried here has always been delicious, from the crabs to the fried chicken, and it's all decently priced. I really enjoy the fact that it's a smaller dining area, mainly because you can see what everyone else is eating before you decide on what you want for yourself...but it also provides for speedy service. They also have a pretty nice selection of craft beers to choose from to compliment your meal. Also, the sweet potato fries here are PHENOMENAL. The only downside to this place is parking. If you can't find a place out front, you have to park in the rear and walk the whole way around the building to the entrance. Other than that, it's awesome.

Over all great restaurant for ocean city. Fresh sea food clean restaurant and good service. Food was a little too fried but honestly very good and fresh tasting. Would defiantly recommend for big family dinner.

Stopped in for an early dinner. The food was decent. My sister and I shared the broiled crabcakes and a seafood platter without the softshell crab. The fried fish, clams, and shrimp were delicious. They serve great asparagus and other sides. However, I was not impressed with the crabcakes. For $38 for 2 six ounce crabcakes, I left feeling like I made a bad choice. Part of the reason we went to the Fenwick Crab House is because I wanted crabcakes. They were jumbo lump cakes, but the seasoning they used tasted like it belonged on fried chicken instead. I barely ate any of it since the flavor was over powering. Overall, I think they have good food, that one dish just threw the whole experience off for me. 3 Stars!
