Lokanta Feriye

"Dinner in the gardens of the fully renovated Feriye Palace is different every time you come. Dine here at the edge of the Bosphorus, with the ever-evolving backdrop of the relentless coming and going of the ships. The view of the illuminated Ortaköy Mosque and Bosphorus Bridge is magical, especially with a good cocktail in hand. This restaurant strikes a fine balance between chic and relaxed, and the service is attentive. The wonderful dishes speak for themselves; not overly elaborate, it is rather classical fare incorporating subtle, fresh and spicy nuances." - Michelin Inspector

Great food, great service and perfect atmosphere. the only thing that annoyed me is that I booked well in advance and asked for a table by the window but we didnt get what we requested. we still had a lovely view though. Cocktails were very nice as well. Staff were very attentive.

I’ll be trying more dishes soon, but so far — the food is definitely tasty. We mostly ordered starters, and I’d rate them 8–9 out of 10. Really solid. As for the mains and the service: the service was very good. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They even offered to move us to a better table with a Bosphorus view as soon as one became available — that was a very nice touch. Overall, everything was great — but not quite a wow experience. That’s the only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5. Not because something was missing, but simply because everything was good, just not exceptional. The hot dishes were a bit weaker compared to the starters — we ordered two mains. Still, the overall experience was pleasant and I enjoyed it.

Difficult Reach Location: The restaurant is situated in a beautiful area, but unfortunately, it’s quite difficult to access. Reaching the venue can be challenging, especially for first-time visitors. Car Parking: No dedicated parking is available, which adds to the inconvenience of visiting, particularly if you’re arriving by car. Entrance: The main entrance is hard to find and unwelcoming, with a closed gate that can confuse guests and detract from the overall first impression. Customer Service: The staff were polite, but not very attentive to customers’ needs. Requests took time to be fulfilled, and there was little initiative in offering assistance or recommendations. Staff: Courteous but not very proactive or engaging, especially considering the high-end expectations of the venue. Dining Tables: The tables are comfortable, but most do not offer the expected scenic Bosphorus view, which is one of the main attractions advertised by the restaurant. Food Menu: The food is the highlight of the experience. The Albanian liver and Rack of Lamb were both perfectly cooked and full of flavor—definitely worth trying. Hygiene: Cleanliness is well maintained throughout the dining area and facilities. Drinks: Unfortunately, the drinks did not meet expectations in terms of taste or variety. Prices: The restaurant is very expensive, and given the service and experience, it doesn’t fully justify the price tag. Overall: Feriye Restaurant offers great food in a classy setting, but logistical difficulties, lack of parking, and service gaps make it fall short of a premium dining experience. Suitable for a special culinary try, but not for those seeking ease and full value.

1. The seafood main dish (platter) was average, not even close to what you can get in some usual restaurants in Europe. 2. Service was ok, but salad was brought later than other dishes and the waiter told us that they were busy. 3. Three stars just for the view.

One of my favorite spots in Istanbul. I have been there a few times and hopefully I’ll get to visit it again this year. Wonderful view overlooking the weather, ortakoy mosque and the bridge. The service is great and staff has always been kind and helpful.

Beautiful restaurant. I thoroughly enjoyed the food. I preferred the beef ribs over the shrimp, but definitely didn’t regret any dish.

Yelp
the worst service ever!!! and the attitude of the female receptionist at the door entrance was horrendous and she was very demeaning and disrespectful with a condescending tone and racist outlook!!! she needs to be removed - I can't believe they have such type of people welcoming guests at their doorstep. we took off immediately after I gave her the EXCUSE ME look and spoke it out in turkish- that's when she realized she's doing herself a big mistake!!! shame on her and unfortunate for the resturant to be employing such ignorant people! AVOID BY ALL MEANS- she was so nasty! we refused to be seated and left!

Yelp
I came here for an office lunch. Coming here, you'll be struck with a magnificent view of the bosphorus. It may be one of the best located restaurants in Istanbul. If you are looking to enjoy the day with a nice lunch during summer, you should consider coming here. Alternatively you could consider coming here for date night. We started with cocktails. If you are into sour cocktails go ahead and try the kuzu kulagi or if you prefer sweet cocktails they also do 2 berry based cocktails. The food was good, we tried almost all appetizers and they were all pretty good. My favorites was the icli kofte. I then had Ribs, which were ok but I recommend the tandir (tandoori). It looked much better. Finally I had the pistachio gozleme for dessert and that would be something I would order again if I go back. That being said, no entrée or main was exceptional. They were all good but I think what distinguishes Feriye from other upscale restaurants is, first and foremost, the location. About the service. The service was slow and our waiter had a bit of an attitude. I had thought that this was our misfortune but looking at the comments here I realize that it is a problem many have encountered here. We paid about 200 Liras per person. Long story short: this restaurant has a beautiful location and you won't regret coming here for lunch or dinner. Expect decent (good) food however do not expect one of a kind dishes and maybe expect a slow service.

Yelp
My friend held her wedding rehearsal dinner here, and it was a beautiful venue with outdoor seating and gorgeous views of the Bosphorus. I don't think you can get much better in terms of views in Istanbul. Service was great and the food was outstanding, which I was surprised at since they were catering for such a large group. I highly recommend the sea bass, which was absolutely perfectly cooked.

Yelp
For the life of me, I don't understand why but the service here is unexpectedly horrible. It took them 10 minutes to give us the menus while I was looking around trying to make eye contact with someone, another 10 to bring the drinks menu and another 20 to bring a glass of wine which came with the entrees and not right after I ordered. It makes me think that since somehow they are running their business and will continue to do so, they don't care about their service and their reputation. Also they put another table's desserts on our check which they kindly solved after we mentioned it but come on - at a place like this how can you mix up the tables? :/

Yelp
This location is hands down the best waterfront dining in all of Istanbul (at least that I've been to). Obviously catering to a more affluent diner, its not uncommon to sight more business-related parties and romantic couples celebrating something special. With 180 degrees of views though, don't hesitate to come simply for a beautiful glass of wine and small nibble. There's no need to drop hundreds of dollars per person to enjoy a bit of luxury in the heart of the bosphorus. Our dinner was lovely, although possibly a bit overpriced for the level of quality I had expected from an establishment of this caliber. Clearly you're paying more for the level of service (impeccable) and ambiance of the restaurant rather than the cuisine, which was quite good, but didn't blow me out of the water. I will definitely be back for sure, as I know that in addition to business partners, and romantic couples, it may very well the perfect restaurant to take your out of town parents.

Yelp
Great food. Great setting. Worst service in Europe. Do NOT come here! Waiters ignored us for more than 30 min after being seated. Then at end of meal when ordering desert and coffee, it took more than 30 min to deliver the coffee and another 15 min to deliver cream/milk for the coffee. All the while the waiters were standing aside and chatting. It was a weeknight and not overly crowded so there really was no excuse. They ended up taking the coffee and desert off our bill but that didn't make up for the bad service. Food was very delicious and view of the Bosphorus and the bridge lit up at night was magical. Perhaps because we were 2 gay couples our waiters paid us less attention than all the business men and straight couples?

Yelp
Who visits Istanbul must enjoy her/his meal at least once near Bosporus and Feriye is an ideal choice for this experience. Delicious foods, great panorama and good service.

Yelp
The setting is magical, right on the Bosphorus, truly memorable. The food was high quality and delicious- the service on the other hand was very poor. Once our orders were taken, the staff disappeared and it took two and a half hours until our last item arrived. We opted not to have dessert or coffee for fear another hour would pass. Such a shame. Also, the restaurant is a little ways down from the main road. The restaurant would not call a taxi for us, although we had our elderly parents with us, and they were not able to walk up the hill to the main thorough way. Never again.
