FDR has a warm ambiance, in part because of the people inside, but the physical design is also great with a great deal of flexibility for different kinds of events. The bar itself is warm and welcoming, with staff always friendly and ready to pour. It's a welcoming space to meet up with friends and neighbors for a drink, to play some games, and to learn about brewing beer. FDR went through two years of hell getting the place open, and have come out the other side with a space the neighborhood is proud of and is more than happy to support.
Their beers are delightful, but as good as they are, the owners and staff are even more awesome! Now they're doing live music on Thursdays and have hosted a variety of holiday events like New Year's Eve, St. Patrick's Day, and more.
The owners and staff have quickly become part of the community and have become involved in local groups like the Portola Neighborhood Association and their efforts to improve the business corridor.
FDR is a great addition to the neighborhood and the business diversity on the street, and we are really glad they're here!
