Absolutely fantastic!!! The staff was SO helpful and asked all the right questions to help us find our perfect bottle. They also specialize in wines without crazy additives and sulfates. I'm new to wine but learning what styles and flavors I prefer. Fermented has several tastings to help you compare and identify what you prefer. Being in DT Alpharetta, I expected prices to be quite high, but I was really pleasantly surprised! Tastings were a very fair 20( +/-) and were so helpful to identify what we like and what we don't. After our two tastings they asked us questions about our favorites to help select what bottle of wine we may enjoy for next time. Never pushy and incredibly helpful!! They brought us a bottle that I was sure was going to be 50+...it was 30. Again incredibly reasonable!! They sort their retail side by price and indicate tannin level right on the tag which is so helpful! They have a wall of wines under 30 with numerous under 20. They then have other sections up the price range to special events. They had excellent suggestions and we will be back many times! This experience was incredibly helpful in our wine journey!

Wonderful wine shop!! The owner is very knowledgeable about wine and the vineyards he sources from. I love asking questions and getting the scoop on each wine when I come to pick out a bottle. I don’t get my wine from anywhere else now!

Fermented is such a unique and cherished find. It’s one of the good spots. I’ve never had a bad wine here…even wines I don’t typically go for. If you are curious to try a new wine, here’s the place to do it. They know wine. Their tasting room is so quaint and community driven. The staff is always so lovely and welcoming. I love it here. I trust every wine I purchase here…it is so intentionally selected. So so lucky it’s my “local”.

This is my favorite wine shop! They have a great variety of natural wines and very knowledgeable staff to help you find something great. I also really love all the different flights they offer. Great place to have a glass of wine and find a new favorite!

We stumbled upon Fermented (Canton location) and it was the highlight of our Saturday. It is located inside the Mill at Etowah, where there are multiple shops and restaurants. The staff was so friendly and helpful. My husband and I shared a flight (the hayride reds) and a glass while we jammed to some Taylor swift (wine + taytay = best combo!) We will definitely be checking out the Alpharetta location and return to this one!

This is a great shop with an extensive natural wine selection. The wine tasting events are well done and a fun way to try out some new wines. I try to stop in every time I'm in town to stock up on natural wine for my visit. The service is excellent as well!

The staff is hugely helpful, friendly, and attentive. Great wine tasting and nice overall experience. great bottle prices as well. They offer meat and cheese boards from the spot around the corner as well, so if you're hungry, give it a shot. $25 for a wine tasting was a sold offer IMO.

Spent a great evening at a cheese pairing event. Great staff, great guest "speaker", and as always the selection of wines both during and after the event is wide-ranging and spectacular. This is a must "check-out" wine store and more.

I learned about Fermented through an event last year and was super pumped to stop in to actually check the place out. Located in downtown Alpharetta, Fermented is a small specialty wine shop that focuses on locally sourced wines of all varieties and price points. To help you with making the best selection they have the selections grouped by the occasion you need it for from Date Night to Special Occasion to the Party wall, which features the cheapest bottles that will still supply you with the fun, but won't break the bank. However, if you are looking for a super fancy bottle, they have the Collectors nook in the back that feature bottles well above the $100 price point. Service was phenomenal as well. I was greeted immediately when I entered and as we chatted, she was patient and very helpful, especially since if it doesn't come from the bottom shelf at Kroger or features a twist top...I don't know about it! She took time to educate me, walk me around to show me what wines fall in what categories and to tell me about the offerings of classes and tastings that they have on site! If you decided to pop your bottle while there, they do offer that and then you can step right outside to enjoy at one of the tables lining the walkway. Overall, Fermented is a cool shop that I will certainly visit again!

We went for the Orange wine tasting - it's not what you think! Mckenzie (spelling?) was super knowledgeable and an awesome host. I was skeptical at first about what orange wine even is. Fun fact, it is not wine made from oranges. It is also not wine infused with oranges. I'll let you Google what it actually is! There were 5 wines that we tasted, each very different and tasty. It was an awesome experience! I will definitely be back again.

On a lazy sunny Tuesday afternoon, it was a a great find to walk into Fermented! This is a very cool spot to relax and explore new wines. The staff is great and very accommodating. Located in the heart of Alpharetta, it is the perfect place to include in your visit.

Love, love, love this place!!! I go in and I'm always immediately helped by someone! No preservatives in their wine so no headaches! I've also been to the wine tastings, and they are very informative & so much fun! Charcuterie board is delicious too.

A must try when in Alpharetta. We come here for the tastings. We try and find new tastes and take a few bottles home. The knowledge of the staff is over the top. The owner Adam is always searching for the winery that brings the best flavors. Just a great place to hang out with one or a large group!

Came here for an after work event with colleagues. This place has a great selection of wines...great ambiance... friendly and helpful staff.

I stopped in to pick up my wine tasting kits for a Yelp event. Located in downtown Alpharetta on Canton Street, Fermented is a cute little shop that has a very unassuming front. (There's plenty of street parking FYI). Upon walking in, I was immediately greeted warmly. I mentioned I was there for the wine kits and they were ready to go. I browsed the store selection for a bit just to see what they offered. There were many familiar labels but also many new ones I have not seen previously. They offer a varied selection that can fit any budget so do not be afraid to stop and take a peek at their wines. Before leaving, I asked if they could recommend something similar to a wonderful sparkling wine I had tried once. Upon showing the guy the picture, he was able to say "oh we carry that, it's a store favorite". This is one I have been searching for for a while now (and I did not want to drive to Buckhead to get it). To know that they had it and that it's usually in stock made my day. I'll be back to browse some more and of course to pick up some more bottles of my favorite sparkling wine!!

Amazing local spot in downtown Alpharetta. Their selection is one of the biggest I've seen in the area plus their knowledge of pairings makes them stand out. Ordered a couple of bottles for curbside pick-up. Highly recommend if in the area

Fermented is a local wine shop right in the heart of Downtown Alpharetta. You probably won't find your Yellowtails or Barefoot wines here. They specialize in small, mom and pop vineyards. It's a small shop, but they curated a ton of good wines. Each section of the wall is categorized. When you enter, to your left you find your budget wines. To your right, you find your "Special occasion" wines. At the back, you find your collector's wines, where the wines go $100++. And in the front, near the windows, you have your dessert wines and half bottles. The people here are quite knowledgeable and friendly. If you need to find a wine for an occasion or meal, they can help you out. They also do $10-$25 wine tastings on Tues, Thurs, and on the weekends. They feature 4+ wines with some small bites. They even have spit buckets so you don't get trashed (or you can spit them out if you didn't like the wine. They won't get offended). But it's a wine tasting, why not get drunk with the sweet nectar? Whether you're a complete noob or an experienced wino, you can come here for some good wines.

The best kept secret in downtown Alpharetta is to go to a wine tasting at Fermented before going out to dinner for the night. We met friends on a Saturday Night and got to taste 6 different wines from around the world (reserve the wine tasting in advance) and it included a massive charcuterie plate to share, which was incredible as well. All for $25 per person. We left with a little buzz and learned a lot along the way. The wine experts at Fermented are very knowledgeable and fun. Even though I'm more of a craft beer guy myself, I still enjoyed it a lot, and so did our wives. I highly recommend.

Excellent wine tasting experience! The staff have great personalities. They're very knowledgeable about their wines. Very chill and upscale environment! Fermented sells by the bottle and offers tastings. The area in Alpharetta allows open container so you can purchase a bottle and drink it outside.

I'm definitely not a wine connoisseur, but don't worry, the staff won't hold it against you. We came here for a Saturday night tasting and had the chance to sample six different wines, as well as learn a little bit about how wine is made and what to look for in a good wine. It appears this place focuses on the craft wines (not sure if that is a real term), opposed to the mass produced variety that you probably see at your local grocery store. While I admit that in a blind taste test I probably couldn't tell you the difference between a $20 bottle and a $120 bottle, I still had a good time here. All of the staff that we interacted with were very friendly and it was a good time for $25. I might even impress a few folks saying I know about the acidity and sulfites in certain wines now...

Wow! What a gorgeous addition to the growing downtown Alpharetta scene! This sweet little boutique wine shop, nestled in downtown Alpharetta is definitely going to be my wine stop from now on. Supporting local businesses and supporting our local economy is what our great nation was founded on, right? These people are great! A partnership of some awesome local residents run this place and it's obvious that it has been a labor of love. SUPER Knowledgeable staff (that don't make you feel stupid about not knowing everything there is to know about wine) is balanced with sensible and simple decor that brings attention to each bottle of wine they are presenting. Each bottle of wine is carefully selected and are all so unique! If you're a true wino... you'll be in love! If you're just starting to learn about wine, you'll have so much fun here! Or... if you're like me and just know what kind of wine you like and just look for that one wine you can drink with everything... you'll find it here too! I'm so excited this place is here! They have a cool wine club too! Check it out!

If you're in Alpharetta check this place out. It's a bunch of smaller wineries that you'd possibly never heard of. Adam is super friendly and will take care of you. You'll be impressed with his knowledge and best of all he's a low pressure kind of dude.

Went for a winetasting with my daughter that she bought me for Valentine's Day. A rather small place but a good selection of wines and the staff is very friendly. The prices were so so but I would go back again given the chance.

Fermented is easily one of the best wine shops in the Atlanta area. Not only do they have a diverse selection of unique wines to peruse, the friendly staff is super knowledgeable and eager to help you choose the perfect vino (even for those who know little about wine)! Guy working was super kind and knowledgable. Bought 4 of their cheapest bottles (the good stuff would have been wasted on what I needed it for)...and every bottle was actually super quality! The quality of their cheapest wine says a lot about a place. I was impressed!

Really unfortunate. Came to fermented for a night of tasting with friends. Had a great time last time I was here for a charity event. Tonight, things were a little different. First, 12 people showed for the tasting at the time slot we paid for. Online ticket sales were limited to 6 per time slot. Second, the last pour was a port, which I don't really care for. So I politely asked the hostess to pour me another one of the Nebbiolo, which we had second to last. She informed me she can't do that because of regulations. Let me just say that's bull. Do you want to do business or not? Ended up buying the bottle of Nebbiolo anyway to take to dinner because the owners know what they are doing. Not likely to come back for tastings, however.

My wife and I stopped by Fermented on Friday night. What a lovely addition to downtown Alpharetta! The store is beautiful with the bottles of wine stored on the walls in clear view. The staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the products. The wines were picked with a preference for smaller and family owned wineries that actually have a story. We enjoy wine but the prospect of having a knowledgeable source for helping us pick what we like and learning at the same time is so appealing. Fermented is stocked with everyday wines, weekend wines and special occasion wines which is a big plus. We look forward to stopping by on a date night to sample what ever they have open and enjoy the experience. BTW...we bought a case of wines, curated for our tastes and budget.

How Adam has less than 5 stars is a tragedy. The man is super nice and accommodating, has a great selection, and a knowledge of his stock that is seldom seen in the big box liquor and wine stores. I have no personal relation to him, but if you talk to him a couple of times you will feel like you do.

Adam and team are so great and knowledgeable! We love coming here and discovering new wines! Also, they have hunted down some hard to find favorites of ours and kept them stocked. What a wonderful addition to Alpharetta!!!

Amazing wine boutique! You immediately feel at home the moment you enter. Adam and his phenomenal staff know what they're doing. Anyone I see and talk to I highly recommend Fermented! It is an experience like no other. I am big on seeing small businesses succeed, and there is no doubt in my mind Fermented will! I know where my wine will come from. #salute

Went in one Saturday night after having pizza across the street (Minnie Olivia's-yum!!'). Aleah was so friendly and knowledgeable about whatever we asked about. It is not the least bit snobby or overly high end. Quite a range of bottles and prices. Hope to get back for a tasting soon!

We just finished dinner and thought we would go out for a glass of wine. We saw this place with a big "TASTE WINE" banner outside so we walked over to it to order a glass. When we got inside, we were greeted by a very friendly man who told us a bit about this place. He told us they do not sell wine to drink on premises. He said we were welcome to buy a bottle and drink it at the table outside. Ok, so it's a bottle shop, not a bar. So I didn't get the "TASTE WINE" banner. Anyway, since we were there, and I have a 600 bottle wine room in my basement, we decided to browse the wines. The shopping experience is very odd. Bottles are arranged by price point, not varietal, country of origin etc. I don't shop wine just by price so that merchandising method is probably not for me. It may work for others though. The other frustrating thing was the wines are all from small growers/boutique type wines so if you are not familiar with any of them, there is no way to shop them. There are no descriptions of their characteristics (Body, Texture, Sweetness, Acidity) so buying a bottle is a bit like playing roulette unless you want to sit there and google the wine you are looking at. They did have some sort of sliding scale under the displays (F-T or something like that). When I asked what that was the gentleman told me it was how the wine was made -- Traditional (as in stomping the grapes manually, oak barrels etc) or Machine (stainless steel fermenting etc). That's about as informative as it gets. Nice place inside, has potential, but not for me. Millennials will probably enjoy it though. Question is, will they buy enough $10 bottles to keep the lights on?

We had the best time at Fermented last night! We planned a group get together for my husband's birthday and it was the perfect environment to taste, chat, catch up, laugh and have fun! We highly recommend it. The staff is knowledgeable, the environment is very cool and the wines were delicious! We'll be back very soon!
