The Buddha bowl was out of this world delicious. Tastiest tofu I’ve ever had. The tomatoes were so flavorful! Super filling meal with delicious, healthy ingredients. Everything seemed fresh. Very cute place; I recommend making reservations since the seating space is small.

Fern, Flavors of the Garden was an absolute delight! From the time we seat down the waitress was attentive. She constantly ask if our food was okay. She apologized for the time it took to prepare the food. The drinks arrived to the table quickly. The quality of this food definitely was amazing. Every bite had flavor and you would have never guessed any of these meals were vegetarian and/or vegan. Pricing was fair considering inflation at this current time. This place is on the smaller size seating wise; so do yourself a favor and make reservations. Other than that, this establishment is worth every penny spent and your time. Even if you're a meat eater.

Yum! We met some friends here for dinner and enjoyed everything! The Buffalo cauliflower was delicious. I had the eggplant parm. It was amazing and bonus points that it was gluten-free. They have lots to choose from, and you wouldn't even know it was all vegan.

Update: I'm so sad to hear they are closing!!! It's been quite a pleasure to dine here! I loved that it was packed with people today! Maybe you can come back one day. I've been here a ton of times. Usually, there are one or two staff people who seem really friendly and a couple who seem to always be having a bad day. I like the atmosphere. Inside and out, quite the experience. The food is good enough for me to keep coming back. I recommend the chickn & waffles and the butterfly lemonade. The mocktails are delicious! Parking is very tight and usually hard to get back onto the street because of such busy traffic.

I found my favorite restaurant in Charlotte today. I've been living in the city for a year and Fern is the best restaurant I've eaten in so far. The ingredients are fresh and attractively prepared. the service is very helpful and personal. Many thanks for the delicious evening.

We went for brunch today and the new GM Ann is gone. So sad. Not sure how it is going to effect the place. They were short staffed. Not batting 1000 today. Met the owner, seemed nice. They were trying hard. We shall see…

I was satisfied with this place before I even arrived. I hyped myself up so much from the instagram photos. It was WORTH IT! Best vegan restaurant in CLT hands down. My husband and I came here and were not disappointed. Usually appetizers are all portions. Not here. Portion size is good. We ordered the daily special sushi and buffalo cauliflower wings. For entreé we had Korean sandwich and Zo Boy. We had mocktails. Lemonade and Nomosa. Flavor hittin'!!!!! Alex (executive chef) know what he doing!!! I know where I'll be going broke this summer!

Really good breakfast/brunch today at Fern. I've been wanting to come here for a few years and finally made it today for a brunch. I got the plant based chorizo wrap and potatoes and it was very good! Large portion; had to take half home. Good coffee too and warm environment. Smaller than I thought it would be inside, so I could see how it gets busy fast. Recommend for a special treat or anytime for creative vegan food!

Super kind and knowledgeable staff! Quiet and peaceful ambiance- great for any occasion AMAZING food - people I've gone with that absolutely love eating meat also enjoyed this place very much. Would highly recommend giving this place a shot

Vegan food with great gluten free options are not always easy to find but Fern delivered. The ambiance is quaint. I love the lime green chairs and that they use real silverware and cloth napkins. The cauliflower wings were amazing. I had the "chicken" mushrooms and waffles, both very good. The waffles were crispy. Hubby had the chorizo burrito which is a burrito full of veggies which tasted good and was filling but lacked in flavor to him. He added hot sauce for a kick. It came with garlic home fries which was good. He also had coffee which was good and that's saying something as he likes it strong. I had a pomegranate juice which was very good. Over all we were very pleased. It's not an everyday place as it can get pricey but for special occasions it was perfect. Our severs were great. The portions were big. We took home half of everything.

Fern has THE BEST CAULIFLOWER WINGS, probably ever. They are perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside! The hummus, like everything else, is made fresh and is delicious....I could have eaten 100 of those deliciously toasted slices of bread. The southern plate was a little more tangy than I expected, but great textures and flavors, especially mixed together. The restaurant is small but beautiful, and the service is always super friendly!

If you're looking for fresh food, fresh ingredients, and delicious vegan meals, Fern is the place to be. I AM NOT VEGAN, but I have friends who are, and I would highly recommend this place i please the vegan and nonvegans taste buds. Hummus - by far the best I've ever had and the buttey toast wow! Thai wings vs. Buffalo wings. Thai for the win, they were a little more crispy, BUT the creaminess of the blue cheese on the Buffalo wings was extremely flavorful. Collard greens - definitely not your mommas' greens from the south, yet a delicious dish, seasoned well with a mixture of flavors. Brussels Sprouts- crispy and delicious just how I like to l them. The service was somewhat subpar (just a little slow), but the food came out fast. Decent seating outside,

My friend and I tried coming here during the pandemic and due to not jabbing enough staff they had closed that day. I am SO glad they made it through. This place is phenomenal!!!!! I'm already planning my next trip. The service was great. We were consistently being checked on. The food is amazing. I had the Zoboy with a side salad. I love oyster mushrooms but the oyster mushrooms fried in this zoboy were so tastey. My friend had the Mediterranean salad which loved. Portion sizes are great. We both had sangrias and they were soooo good. Outside there is planted mint, rosemary, thyme and I think I saw lavender. We came about 2 and they closed by the time we left. Busy but not so much we had problems getting a seat. Love this place!

I wholeheartedly love this restaurant!! From the ever so delectable food to the over the top staff. Keep in mind that this is a popular restaurant so bring your patience with you; I've never seen this place not packed. Cody and Margaret are great. Once you become a regular, which it's hard not to as amazing as the food tastes, it truly adds to the experience. There is stellar inside and patio dining in this quaint spot. Very well cleaned. For this place to be as small as it is, you would not think there would be as many people in and out. The one time I wasn't in love with my food the waiter comped it off of our bill. The prices might seem pricey but are definitely well worth it. I bring people of all dietary backgrounds and so far no complaints. This was the first restaurant I went to after becoming fully plant based. They will always hold a special place in my heart. Not pictured is the burger, which also hits the spot for that beef burger craving.

I've been for dinner one time before and really enjoyed the food, but I loved my lunch trip in even more! I was one of just a few tables in and I was served very quickly! It has a really relaxing ambiance - the chairs are comfy, the music is chill, and the smells from the kitchen are amazing! I hope to slowly make my way through this menu. Excellent and creamy vegan mac. The glassware makes the kombucha feel even more fun and they have beautiful silverware! Clearly all in the details here. Can't wait to go back.

We wanted to go somewhere with good outdoor seating since the weather was so gorgeous and Fern has been on my list to try for years. We packed up our well behaved dogs and headed over. It was 7:30 on a Thursday and there were a few tables open on the patio. We were greeted promptly and a server stopped over to take our drink order in no time at all. I chose the raspberry lime margarita because I'm a tequila girl. This drink is now my favorite cocktail in all of Charlotte. Seriously, I this drink so much that I would come just for that drink! We ordered the nachos, the Thai cauliflower and the papas bravas. My favorite was the cauliflower, my husband's favorite was the nachos. I felt like the potatoes were maybe needed a higher temp on the fry but had a good taste. We had great service by 2 ladies and really enjoyed our meal. Mmmm I cannot wait to come back and get that margarita though!! So in love

My lady and I have brunch there a few times a month, but this past Saturday, we finally made reservations for dinner, and the experience was golden. The food was delicious with a nice size portion. I'm definitely giving The Fern a 10/10.

Great vegan spot. I went on a girls night and we enjoyed cocktails, appetizers, main dishes, wine, and dessert. Buffalo cauliflower was a delicious appetizer. The blue "cheese" could have fooled me! We each got different entrees, from Jack fruit sandwiches to Indian inspired dishes to my ramen bowl. Everyone was happy with the quality and presentation of what they got. The artisanal cocktails we tried were definitely on the sweeter side, but that's very common in the south. The jalapeño margarita was well balanced. They have a great beer and wine list too. The carrot cake is fabulous. The restaurant is small so reservations are highly recommended.

Fern never disappoints. The food is always packed with flavor and the staff is always ready to serve you with a smile. The outdoor patio is my favorite space to enjoy their amazing food. The Crabcake Sandwich was AMAZING!!! and the house potatoes that were accompanied by some sort of smokey dipping sauce had me going back for more. If you're in the Charlotte area this is has to be on your list, regardless if you're vegan or not.

My wife and I come to Fern regularly, and we leave with a big, guilt-free smile. MENU The menu never disappoints thanks to a variety of vegan options and great cocktails. We ordered drinks to get things started: Autumn sangria and a pom mule. They both were really, really good! Then, we ordered the buffalo cauliflower "wings," the duddha bowl and the rice and bellpepper soup. Oh, my! Oh, my! I wish I had two stomachs. And we had the carrot cake for dessert. It tasted like a home made dessert. Yum! LOCATION Located in a centrally located area in Charlotte. The GPS will get you there easily if you are from out of town. OTHER Staff was friendly and the place was clean and well decorated. I can't wait to come back.

Delicious brunch at Fern today! First time having their meals and I am not a vegan/vegetarian so it was a exploration of new food. I tried the chicken and waffles and it was very well seasoned , I also had the black bean tostada which had definite spice and bold flavors. My boyfriend had the avocado toast and for him the strawberries were weird but he did like the feta and wanted more of that. I had a ginger mocktail that was refreshing and my friend loved her cocktail with a edible flower in it. We all shared a cinnamon roll and Brussels sprouts and both sides were delicious. Great brunch with about a ten minute stroll down to Freedom Park and the greenway.

Everything was delicious. Service was great and our server was excellent. No complaints at all. Will definitely return my next visit to Charlotte

Served me cold and burnt food. The potatoes had a super strong burnt taste. Didn't eat food asked to speak to manager for it to be fixed and that I would drive back. Was told that she is sorry and hung up. Do not recommend. When you spend money and the food isn't edible you wouldn't want to visit again. Only heard good things hate that I had this experience.

The food was outstanding. I'm not vegan but my wife is, i wasn't very optimistic on trying this place but wow did they exceed my expectations by a long shot. The thai chilling wings made with cauliflower were top tier! The customer service was amazing and my waiter was outstanding as well. The outside venue is a very relaxing scene with beautiful lighting. WILL BE BACK FOR SURE!

I met a good friend here for brunch. It was a pleasant experience. There's outdoor seating along East Blvd and cute cozy chairs inside. There's also a small bar with great cocktails to enjoy. The restaurant is small in size but large in hospitality and flavorful food. You can see the cooks as they prepare the meals and the vibe is great! Low volume of r&b hits playing inside which makes me feel right at home. We had the perfect window seat. I could have sat there all day. We had the cinnamon rolls as an appetizer. Omg they were delicious. Warm, sweet and soft with pockets of frosting and cinnamon swirled inside. They came delivered in a cast iron skillet and tasted delicious with my lemon and ginger tea. I actually had 2 cups. I ordered the chick n' waffles (fried mushrooms) and they were cooked perfectly. They came with hot sauce and syrup. Perfectly prepared and ohhhhh so flavorful. I was surprised. I enjoyed the experience and will definitely come back again and again.

Great service and delicious options. You can get a variety of cuisines with a focus on fresh. The cauliflower bites are a staple. The Thai ones are bold, bright, and the basil microgreens are the perfect complement. The chai flavor of the martini was spot on. The udon was surprisingly not as bold as I expected in terms of truffle flavor but the overall execution from thickness of the sauce, perfectly cooked udon, and the abundance of mushrooms was very pleasant. I didn't eat the potatoes or the jackfruit bbq but it looked really good and Partner said it was satisfying. Small place and incredibly busy on a Friday. Nab a reservation and try some kickass food!

Great vegan spot! My husband was very impressed by how good everything g was. The food is amazing and tastes very similar to the real thing especially the nachos! The staff was friendly and attentive. Also had some great recommendations off the menu. It's small and cozy inside. They do have outside seating for those beautiful sunny days.

Came here while visiting some good friends and can understand why it's a favorite among the plant-based crew! There are plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, and also a lot of fun drinks to keep your spirits up. I had the curry, which wasn't my fav, but the cauli wings we all split were super good. And my friend's falafel salad was delicious. If it's a cold day I'd ask to sit away from the door, and parking can be found down the street if you can't get in the lot.

Not vegan but my friend is and wanted to give this place a try. We all loved it! The service was top notch and so was the food. Recommend for sure!

Fern was a pleasant surprise that I never knew was there until a friend suggested we go there for brunch. This vegan restaurant was good but a note I am not a vegan but open to trying new things. It's small but has great ambiance but it is reservation only. The staff was attentive and pleasant. I love the green chairs. We had cinnamon rolls to start. I had Pom Mule non alcoholic drink and their version of chicken and waffles. I loved the mushrooms tasted just like chicken. I was note a fan of the waffle. The cinnamon rolls were delicious. The drink was fantastic. A combination of ginger beer and pomegranate juice. The bill was about $31 not bad for the quality of food and service. I will go back want to try their version of a burger.

Guilt-free eating and drinking experience. Highly recommend the mac and cheese, cauliflower wings (they're Buffalo and have a kick!), and the non-alcoholic pomegranate mule. So good!

Recent visit to Fern was delicious. You would have no idea that it's a complete vegan menu! The Nacho "cheese" was perfect. The "chicken" (fried mushrooms) and waffles we loved too. I had the spicy hibiscus margarita, and would definitely order that again. This spot is just beautiful too, with the prettiest green chairs

Exceeding my expectations!!!!! We've been with Fern for 3 different chefs. They've outdone themselves. The food was seasoned and well balanced. The Zoboy is my absolute favorite. Can't wait to go back when I'm hungry to eat every last drop of these delectable dishes. The decor, food, and service is top of the line. The ramen noodles aren't too thin or too thick. The tofu charred and seasoned well. The just egg was seasoned as well save we weren't expecting that. We must definitely will be visiting more often.

Immediately loved the earthy chic & cozy atmosphere. Came in on a rainy day. The server was awesome giving us some great recommendations to some of the popular dishes, including the Buffalo cauliflower wings and the chicken & waffles (gluten free too!) Everything was fantastic! I tried the soup of the day which was a creamy potato & leek soup. Looking forward to coming back on a nice day & sitting on the patio with a cocktail/mocktail

We had a delicious mothers day brunch - food was some of the best that I've had in Charlotte (relocated from NYC). The gyoza and Thai cauliflower wings were top notch. Unfortunately, the manager was quite rude to customers, as well as her staff, which makes us hesitant to return. Food was awesome, staff was attentive and kind, management needs adjustments.

We were impressed with the House Falafel (bites). It came with pickled peaches (yum) and sat in a tahini sauce. I got the special that day - Lobster Mushroom Ravioli which came came with allll of the mushrooms . It had really good flavor I just don't know where the "lobster" came in... The Summer Paella which is typically a very meaty dish was swapped out for artichokes, Lion Mane Mushrooms, tomatoes, olives and peas. This was the first time I dined in the restaurant and let me tell you, the ambiance was . I need one of those green velvet chairs in my home. Didn't order this time, but also recommend their cashew mac & cheese and buffalo cauliflower.

Our meal was scrumptious The presentation for my Buddha bowl was different then I have ever seen and the cocktail I ordered which was a gin gimlet was refreshing, not too sweet and perfect with my meal. We had ti make a quick trip to charlotte due to our son needing surgery. I was hoping to salvage the trip by enjoying a 5 Star meal. Fern's did not disappoint We started with the Falafel as an appetizer and the gin gimlet. My husband was impressed with the moist creamy texture of the falafel which when not prepared correctly it can be dry. These were perfect The dipping sauce was drizzled on top. light and creamy with fresh dill which really enhanced the dish My Buddha bowel had fried oyster mushroom which I normally don't have but they were excellent. The texture was perfect the flavors were balanced. I'm not sure if air fried but they were not greasy in anyway. . I look forward to my next 100% vegan meal at Ferns. Please stop in and enjoy there service you will be glad you did

I think we dig it! LOL we have been here twice now snd we really enjoy it! They have a nice patio area with umbrellas for outdoor dining which suits us well since that's our rule ONLY outdoor dining right now! The service is friendly and fast! And we have liked most of what we have tried. Our faves the cauliflower wings THEY ARE PHENOMENAL and this last time we tried the brussel n artichoke dip and man was it good - kinda unbelievable that is really has no dairy! Their pita chips ate good too! I've tried the burrito and 1) it huge and 2) pretty good - it could use a tad more flavor as it got close but not quite to the bland side of things! They give you a good pour of wine and usually have a good beer choice as well. We will be keeping this in rotation!

Stopped in for a quick bite, on my way out of town! Excellent food! I've been vegan for a long time, 13 years, and travel extensively for work, always trying vegan restaurants as I go along. This was one of the best! The bbq jackfruit was smoky and spicy, just what I needed as I was recently sick! Loved the salad dressing too, something you could eat a bottle of alone haha. I also recommend the Faux 75 mocktail, I surely didn't miss the booze one bit. The restaurant is absolutely beautifully decorated with purple and green. This place is a gem.

From my first visit, this easily became my new favorite place! Everything is house-made and fresh! The cauliflower is super good, and includes a unique tomato basil ranch, even my non-vegan friends agree it is yummy The OM Burger got me hooked, but the phillycheese easily became my favorite once I started exploring the menu! You can't go wrong with the country potatoes or papa bravas (special sauce) Brunch is a MUST on the weekends; the chickn waffles, breakfast burrito, and chilaquiles are ALL 10/10. If you're looking for a new drink to try, test out the kombuchas; they are alcoholic and pair great with all the food. The staff is friendly & welcoming and know my order by heart because I come so often the atmosphere is quaint, but not too fancy and always has great music playing to set the mood. The outdoor patio includes some unique landscaping and plenty of seating Fern feels like home! Promise you won't be disappointed!

Vegans Alert Entering flavors of the garden . Since I have been on juicing journey I decided why not stop in to an oldie but a goodie vegan restaurant today . I'm not a vegan in no way shape or form but I do post vegan restaurants and options from time to time . When I want to visit an actual vegan restaurant with vibes I swing right on over . When I stop in here I usually order the Buffalo cauliflower but decided to switch it up and try something different . I ordered the Brussel Dip which consisted of ancho cooked brussels & artichoke hearts served with pita. It was surprisingly pretty tasty and filling . So if you're like me what they call a fake vegan lol that decides off and on when they want to eat vegan or you're truly a die hard vegan Fern is a great choice.

First time in a vegan restaurant, I was really impressed. The eggplant Parmesan was not the best tbh but the Thai cauliflower wings were awesome and the Brussel sprouts were really good as well. Fun dining experience for sure

Of Charlotte's several vegetarian restaurants, this one may be the closest to the city center, and the most conventional-feeling restaurant for the average consumer. They were offering indoor seating and outdoor bubbles when I visited. It was around 4:30, and they were still offering the lunch menu (apparently dinner doesn't kick in until it's really 5:00). I was perfectly fine with trying their Om burger. I like white beans, and this thing was about as delicious as you could imagine a white bean burger being. The pattie itself with a robust white bean flavor and a delicious crisp on the outside, and a fantastic garlicky sauce and fresh-tasting garnishes exploded in every bite. I got it with a side salad, which had some pretty nice Caesar-ish dressing. They were training new staff when I visited, much to my bemusement. The breadth of the menu I was offered wasn't that impressive, but they executed well and I could certainly return at another time.

I love that the dishes on the menu at Fern all have a unique twist to them. Every dish is an explosion of flavor! But my favorite thing here, would be all of the vegetarian and vegan options! Service is always excellent. I love the patio area the most, but don't mind eating inside either. I'm a big fan of the green and gold chairs in their dining room. :)

I am going to start by saying that I am not vegan, but this is by far one of the best places I have ever eaten. My friends and I were on a "graduation celebration" trip to Charlotte. Both of them are vegan, and I have been to a decent amount of vegan restaurants with them- none of which I have the pleasure of saying I would choose to go back to (unless my vegan friends were there). I was looking for vegan places near downtown Charlotte that were vegan for them, and I came across Fern. My friend chose to go there. When we got there, we were instantly in awe of how cute the restaurant itself is. The staff were all so nice and helpful. They helped us choose what entrees to get since everything on the menu looked so good and it was hard to settle on something. We ended up getting the nachos, gyoza, mac and cheese, buffalo cauliflower wings, and the truffle udon (my dinner). The truffle udon was the best udon dish I have ever had. It was creamy, fresh, and tasty. I would go back to Charlotte just to eat there. The gyoza were my second favorite, they were tangy, crispy, and so flavorful. Everything else was equally as tasty, there were no disappointments. We finished up dinner with the cheesecake, which was also very delicious. Thank you, again, Fern! The meal was perfect! We all hope to come back again soon!

I have been to Fern a few times but this is my first review. We arrived at a busy time of day for brunch, we were seated right away. The staff was warm and welcoming. Our waiter, Cody, was extremely kind and prompt. He was just right with the table visits and always available when we needed him. The food was outstanding, as usual. I ordered the "chicken" and waffles, my Mom ordered the scramble. The food was prepared well and the presentation was perfect. Any restaurant that serves $5 mimosas is a keeper for me. Lol! All in all, I would say there was no room for improvement. I throughly enjoyed my dining experience at Fern.

I am not a vegetarian. I am also not a vegan. I tried this place because I'm currently doing a nutrition cleanse and thought it would be nice having healthy options. I was a little wary at first. However, I was pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious. We ordered the "Ahi Tuna" fries which were very good. I also ordered the Buddha bowl and it was really good. The dashi is served on the side and it is sooo flavorful. My husband ordered the "Burger" which I tried and while it didn't taste like a hamburger it was pretty close. Our friend ordered the truffle risotto and I have to say that was the best one out of the 3 dishes. All in all, I would come back here again! I was impressed!

We just went to Fern for the first time in a few years for a celebration dinner. We got the Shiitake Calamari, the eggplant parmigiana, and the black trumpet risotto. We also had the torte and cheesecake for dessert. This definitely ranked among the best meals I've ever had. It was amazing. Our server, Alia, was wonderful as well- she was very helpful and super attentive. Everything was so beautiful as well.... I wish I had taken pictures!!

Service was excellent, we decided to sit outside since it was a lovely day, the moment I thought to myself that the sun was obstructing my view, the hostess was already putting up the um tell to provide shade. The food did not take long, it was hot and fresh. And my mimosa was filled to the top which is something I really appreciate. Will be back here again, my brother is vegan and he kept saying wow, NC has really improved. I'm glad I was able to impress him with this establishment and experience.
