Where To Eat Near Seattle University

"Soi is a Thai spot that works for virtually any situation, whether you want to hang out alone at the bar with a pork belly stir fry, get snacks and cocktails with friends, or split some noodles on a casual date. You can’t go wrong with anything on the Isan Thai menu, but the khao soi or chicken panang curry stuffed with lemongrass-infused ground chicken is the very best thing here. Chase it with a beer slushie." - aimee rizzo

I’d heard about Fern Thai from a few people and was happy to give it a try. Most Thai restaurants I’ve been to have been pretty lackluster but this place was different. The food had incredibly robust flavoring, and the menu included dishes beyond the usual Pad Thai and Cashew chicken options. That said, even their Pad Thai and Cashew Chicken was elevated. Lovely atmosphere, live music, great food. Can’t wait to go back. Cocktails were homemade; not shaken from a mixture.

It’s not every day I hand out 5 stars, but Fern Thai on Capitol Hill absolutely earned it. From the moment we walked in, the experience was seamless—great food, well-balanced spice, attentive service, and a warm ambiance that made for a thoroughly enjoyable meal. This is a must-visit spot for Thai food lovers in Seattle. Ambiance: 4.5/5 The vibe is cozy yet modern, with soft lighting and thoughtful decor that sets a relaxing tone without trying too hard. It’s casual enough for a weekday dinner, but intimate enough for date nights or small group gatherings. Authenticity: 5/5 The flavors here are deeply rooted in traditional Thai cuisine. Every dish we ordered had the kind of balance and intensity you’d expect from a Thai kitchen that respects its culinary roots. The curry in particular showcased the kind of complexity and heat that tells me they’re using authentic spice blends and cooking methods. Flavor: 5/5 The curry was a standout—rich, aromatic, and finished with just the right level of kick. The heat was tailored perfectly to our preference thanks to the server’s recommendation, which shows attention to detail and care in execution. Every bite felt intentional and layered, not just spicy for the sake of it. Service: 5/5 Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and made excellent recommendations. They guided us through spice levels and made sure our dishes arrived promptly and in sync. That kind of thoughtful service enhances the entire dining experience. Cost: 4.5/5 For Capitol Hill, Fern Thai is well-priced. Portions are generous, and the quality more than justifies the bill. This is high-level Thai food that doesn’t require a special occasion to justify the cost. In short, Fern Thai impressed me on all fronts. I’ll absolutely be returning soon to explore the rest of the menu. If you’re looking for Thai food done right in Seattle, this place should be at the top of your list.

I recently visited Fern Thai Eatery & Bar, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. I ordered the duck curry and moo hong with a side of rice, and both dishes exceeded my expectations. The duck curry was rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced, with tender slices of duck that melted in my mouth. The flavors were well-balanced, and the portion was generous. The moo hong, a slow-braised pork belly dish, was incredibly flavorful — savory, slightly sweet, and cooked to perfection. The rice complemented both dishes nicely and helped soak up all the delicious sauces. The ambience of the restaurant is modern yet cozy, with warm lighting and tasteful decor that creates a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. It’s a great spot to unwind, whether you’re out for a casual dinner or catching up with friends. The service was excellent — staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, making the dining experience even better. I also appreciated how clean and well-organized everything was, from the cutlery to the overall setup. Overall, Fern Thai Eatery & Bar is a hidden gem that combines authentic Thai flavors with a fun and comfortable setting. It’s definitely a place I’d recommend for anyone looking to enjoy delicious Thai food in a stylish, welcoming environment. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I came here on a Wednesday night, there were tables available immediately for my party of 2 but it was decently crowded. Atmosphere is dark vibes with plants hanging around, you must talk loudly over the music. I got the chicken pad thai 3 stars and it wasn’t too spicy to my standards, more of a 1 star. It was okay, mostly a smokey flavor from the grill. Service was great, prompt and attentive without being bothersome

Great place for a late night eat. We had crab Rangoon and Beef phad see ew. The flavor was nice. I usually like my rice noodles a little charred, that’s just my preference, and this place did that.

Google
The thick, creamy sauce of the duck curry wonderfully covered the juicy duck, making each bite satisfying. The intense blend of sour, spicy, and aromatic feels in the Tom Yum soup kept things fascinating. The mix of the zesty and soothing foods was superb.

Absolutely perfect. Bartender was nice. Food came out quick. I had a dish in mind that I described, brought it to me exactly how I remembered. Delicious. Awesome atmosphere and decorations will be back for sure.

Google
My wife and I stopped for dinner. Inside has a nice feel, and service was prompt. We started with the spring rolls, which were very good. For dinner, I tried the Pad Kee Mao with seafood at a #2 out of 5 spicy levels. It was very good as well. My wife had the Pineapple Fried Rice with chicken, which was HUGE, but she enjoyed some of it, lol. Overall, it was a good experience I'd recommend if you're nearby.

Yelp
Fern is such a gem in Capitol Hill! The location is perfect--right in the middle of everything, making it a great spot to grab a meal before exploring the area. That said, be prepared for a wait--it's popular for a reason! The atmosphere is upscale but still inviting, with a beautifully designed interior that feels both stylish and cozy. Service was excellent--attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Food-wise, everything we had was fantastic. I got the Chicken Cashew, which was packed with flavor. The appetizers looked delicious and big portions. Overall, Fern is definitely worth the visit. Great food, great service, and a perfect spot to enjoy the energy of Capitol Hill!

Yelp
Food here is pretty great flavor wise! Food pick up was quick and easy. They didn't notify me when the order was complete, so I showed up around the time that the initial message said to wait (30min) and the food was ready. Pad Thai: flavorful! I liked this version of pad Thai and the portion size was great! Chicken was dry unfortunately. Crispy Garlic chicken: level 2 spicy had a good bit of heat and good flavor. Also had good texture. Love when they keep the box on top and vented in the to go bag! Pad see ewe: beef was surprisingly tender and tasty! Get the beef! Pretty standard noodle dish Pineapple fried rice: the pieces of pineapple were sweet and juicy and cashews had a good crunch. Again, the chicken was so dry. Sad, because the other textures of the dish were good. Not much curry flavor though. Overall, this is the Thai spot I'd go to in this neighborhood! Tasty and good portions. Just don't order chicken as your protein other than the crispy garlic chicken!

Yelp
Solid spot for Thai food! Fern Thai is tucked away on a relatively quiet street in Cap Hill. We came here on a Sunday evening and got seated immediately. We ordered a tofu pad see ew and duck curry. Both came in big portions. The tofu pad see ew was good but a little too sweet for my liking. There could have been a little more tofu as well. The duck curry was delicious. The duck meat was tender and there was a good amount of curry to go with the rice. Overall, Fern Thai is great and is a slightly cheaper alternative to other Thai restaurants in Cap Hill (i.e. Sugar Hill, Bai Tong). Personally, the lighting is a little too dark but the interior is very nice and cute. We'd come back to try their weekend brunch menu.

Yelp
Not your usual neighborhood Thai spot, but maybe something different worth a try! Ordered the fresh spring rolls with shrimp - definitely a little unusual in my opinion. Lots of lettuce and no rice noodles. The dipping sauce with it was quite good! They definitely take their own interpretation on what I consider Thai food. Absolutely adorable inside decor, and fantastic service! Definitely worth a stop if you are in town!

Yelp
I usually come to Fern for dinner before a night out with friends in cap hill. But I recently found out that they now do brunch on Saturdays and Sundays! So I decided to try it out on their first day yesterday. I ordered their Kai Ka Ta which was very flavorful and savory. Their wagyu was a bit bland, especially the beef gravy. The server confirmed medium but it came out pretty much well done. Ube toast was not as sweet as I am used to from other places, and the consistency was a bit thick. Overall presentation was very cute, and will try their other brunch menus such as the crab omelette and bacon benedict next time.

Yelp
I went to the Fern Thai location in Belluve and enjoyed the food there, so I wanted to check out this location. The food was good here, though the Belluve location is slightly better. The nice thing is that this place is not as booked, so you don't have to wait long for a table. You can customize the spice level, but it varies from dish to dish. Some items we got was not spicy at all at 0 spiciness while others was mildly spicy at 0. * Duck Curry 4.5/5 - The duck was tasty, though not very meaty. Half of the meat had bones that I had to eat around. The curry was yummy with lots of flavors. The different add-ons such as lychee, apples, pineapple, and bell pepper made the dish more interesting. It was supposed to have cherry tomatoes, but I didn't get any in mine. I got spice level 0, there was still a little spicy kick to it which I didn't mind. * Strawberry Lychee Lemonade 4.5/5 - Refreshing sweet and citrusy lemonade. * Pineapple Fried Rice 4/5 - Good but a bit plain. * Pad See Ew 5/5 - This came with yummy and chewy noodles. The dish was very flavorful. The egg was soft and the meat was delicious.

Yelp
My favorite Thai place in capital hill-I wish I had better pictures! Drinks and ambience is great. It can definitely get busy but it is worth the wait. Servers are nice and food comes out timely!

Yelp
Honestly I was kind of disappointed. Maybe it's cause I wasn't that hungry but the flavors were just alright to me. I want to try it again to hopefully update and improve my rating but until then it's gonna have to stay a 3

Yelp
Food came out in hearty portions, I couldn't finish my plate! I enjoyed everything I tried. It's a great place for an intimate, dimly lit ambiance.

Yelp
Was so good. I got the normal crispy Pork belly dish but added basil to it with a side of rice. Was so good. Friend said to try it so we went. Service was very friendly and the atmosphere was friendly. We sat at the cutest small booth loved it. They even offered us to sit at a bigger table if we wanted but we were good. I'm glad I tried this place out. I'll have to see if their pad seew is good on my next visit.

Yelp
This review is for take out! Pad See Ewe - Spicy 4 wasn't as spicy as expected, but still very good! Flavorful. Kow Soi - Not my favorite. It had way more noodles than soup, but every place does it differently. The chicken was good. Larb (ground pork) - Good flavor. Well made larb. Super easy to get the pick up. Walked in, pulled the door really hard (there's a sign) - and you definitely need to pull/push, and picked up the food instantly! Parking is not easy in this area.

Yelp
Phenomenal Thai food accompanied by a gorgeous interior. Stumbled across this place randomly and decided to try it out, so glad we did! The pad see ew was so flavorful and had a delicious char to it. The kow soi was on the sweeter side but when mixed well with the chili oil it balanced out nicely. The salmon in herbs was also sweet, but the freshness of the herbs complimented it well, and if you like a sour citrus addition i recommend adding lime to it. The staff were ready to answer our questions and provided us with our refreshments and dishes promptly.

Yelp
This was such a yummy and fantastic experience! We came with a reservation and got seated immediately. The inside is very well decorated with dim lighting and plenty of seating. We started with the neau dad dew which was dried pork, kind of like jerky. It was nicely seasoned and not too tough. We also got the gai tod hat yai which was fried chicken with panang curry sauce and roti. This was absolutely delicious! The chicken was juicy, curry was so flavorful, and the roti reminded me of a Taiwanese scallion pancake. We also got the neau yang e-sarn which was a flat iron steak served with the most delicious savory dipping sauce and sticky rice. My only complaint was that the sticky rice was a bit firm, but the steak was so juicy and that sauce goes well with anything. Prices are quite reasonable for what you get as well. I'd highly recommend this spot for great thai food and great vibes!

Yelp
This is my second time here, first time review. The restaurant is clean, bright, well decorated, and welcoming ! Excellent service from Avery and Taylie tonight; both were attentive, efficient and friendly! Staff is great, food is even better; I'll be back!!

Yelp
Perfect place for a date night Had the pad kee mao and tom kha for our main meal! Everything was delicious and portions are large! Have to order a side of rice with the tom kha but honestly one bowl of rice is good enough to share between 2 people! side note: we got 3 stars spice and it wasn't spicy at all Definitely save room for dessert their Thai tea crepe layered cake was so good, drizzled on top with chocolate syrup, served with berries and whipped cream on the side. I had the cha-bha (hibiscus mai tai) very fruity and if you're a light weight you will feel it. The alcoholic taste was not strong at all however. Presentation of all food and drinks was beautiful Staff is friendly and ambience of seating is nice, would recommend the booth area if possible!

Yelp
fern thai has been on my bucket list of Thai places to try since I moved to the city. I had really high hopes going to get food here as I've heard good things directly from peers and also seen reviews online about it. The parking situation being in cap hill is not so convenient. It's street parking only that you have to pay for, so expect to walk down or go after 9 when it's free. The interior of the restaurant is very aesthetic with neon lights and an abundance of plant decor. There's also a variety of liquor in the bar, many seating & music blasting over the conversations nearby. It was full of people when we went so it was loud, but still a casual spot I would say. One thing to note was the timing; there was no host, so we waited almost 10 minutes before being greeted and taken to a table. When we sat down in the booth, it took another 15-20 minutes for our order to actually be taken... Therefore, if you're looking for fast and efficient service, this is not the place. My table settings were also dirty w/ food residue left on it and I had to ask for a new one. We decided to stay despite all this w/ high hopes for the food and neither of us had eaten that day so we were starvinggg. Still even then the food didn't hit. crab rangoons: honestly fine, not too oily and had good flavoring but could've had more filling tofu fresh rolls: tofu was essentially nonexistent as well as other filling... was 95% lettuce and the rice paper was either not soaked properly or pre-made and refrigerated so it was hard asf. not enjoyable to chew and the tamarind over powers the peanut in the sauce; it was more of a liquid consistency and quite tart pineapple fried rice: I asked in the beginning if this was Thai spicy and the server said yes, but also depends on the chef as some have heavier hand then others. Clearly I did not get a heavy hand chef because my 4 stars barely tasted like a 2 stars. There was also only a few pieces of tofu and SO MANY RAISINS. Every bite seemed to be one w/ multiple raisins and I was picking them out mid meal as it got too much. The rice was also a bit over cooked in my opinion, but the curry seasoning was there and fragrant chicken phad see ew: plain and needed more veggies to balance out the dish spicy lychee rita: pretty good, tajín rim added to flavor profile & easy to drink la-moon: really sweet and thick drink initially due to all the juice, but better after ice melts all in all, it's a pretty spot for sure but nothing else kept up to expectation. the price points are high, but they're in line w/ other "seattle prices." I just wouldn't return nor recommend when factoring that in w/ the inattentive service or mid food

Yelp
food: really good and great portions. loved the garlic crunchy chicken. pad kee mao was really good but not the best i ever had. red curry was good but steak was a little overdone imo, they also didnt ask how we wanted it cooked. overall great place for the price per portion and was really yummy. service was pretty good too would go again especially if u want a cute thai sit down spot. i would say i like it more than bai tong!

Yelp
This place was conveniently down the block from the concert my friends and I were about to attend. We made reservations for 6:30PM on a Tuesday expecting it to be busy, but it was quite the opposite (except for two other couples across the restaurant from us). Ambience is beautiful w/ high ceilings and plants streaming down the chandeliers. We ordered: Pad Thai - Unfortunately I wasn't a huge fan of their pad thai. The dish leans heavy on the savory side w/ a more fried texture and choppier noodles. My friend enjoyed her plate, but I think for me I like the dish saucier + slightly tangy. The presentation was beautiful as it incorporated a banana flower-- peel the white florets and leave the purple outer petals off to the side (accidentally ate a sliver of the purple petal and felt like i was eating a banana peel). Pad Kee Mao + 2 star spice - My friend ordered two star spice for her entree, but couldn't handle the heat... and I think our waiter knew very well as she came over to refill our waters frequently LOL She still enjoyed the meal, but would've enjoyed it more if she wasn't ambitious w/ the spice. Yum Hed Tod - I honestly wish I had ordered this entree instead of the pad thai. The fried enoki mushrooms looked so good w/ the sauce. The atmosphere is great and food is very instagramable. Our first waitress was attentive to our needs, but our second waitress who had come for the bill was visibly annoyed when we asked to split it itemized (four ways, a dish each). If it's a policy not to split or if it was busy we would've understood, but we don't believe we deserved the response she gave us just from asking. Overall, we enjoyed our time up until those final moments.

Yelp
This place was so fun! We came here to meet friends during the week and it was crowded. Street parking is very difficult to find especially if you do not live around the area. However once we made it we were seated right away. We ordered some fun mocktails, Tom yum soup, pad see ew, khao soi, and i got the chicken plate. All the dishes were incredible. The chicken was so crispy and juicy. Very large portions so we had to take some back home.
google avatar

Yelp
Insanely good food and expansive menu!! Had my favorite Kua Kling which I rarely find in Thai restaurants these days. Service was great as well, especially as we came relatively close to closing. Lots of options for dietary restrictions as well

Yelp
I am so happy with what replaced soi on cap hill. We needed a new high end Thai spot. Seattle is definitely not hurting for good Thai food and everyone has their favorite that hits just right. Sometimes you want to splash out and for that Fern is a vibe, with colorful cocktails that have interesting flavors. The Thai inspired old fashioned and tamarind whiskey knocked it out of the park. The food was stellar with bold flavors and wonderful presentation. The kitchen was super attentive to my gluten allergy (celiac) which is always nice. The spice levels are solid with a 5 having decent heat. The service here was fantastic as well. Food comes out quick and the staff was friendly and wonderful. If you're looking for an upscale Thai spot this should be on your list.

Yelp
This is THE BEST place to order a Pad See Ew... I could eat this everyday! The perfect texture of noodles, flavorful sauce, and they don't skimp on their quality ingredients. 10/10 would recommend!!! We also tried the Pad Thai Baron, which is a more traditional take on the dish. Not as sweet and saucy; they also add banana blossom to this! Very tasty! Again, their texture of the noodles are perfect. This is a really trendy spot that my friends and I wanted to come to. We were bar hopping in Capitol Hill and needed some food. This place was perfect since it was open until midnight and the interior was sooooo pretty! They also have REALLY good cocktails to keep the night going. I enjoyed the Tang-Mo!

Yelp
A cute spot for Thai in the heart of Cap Hill -- the ambiance is nice and they're also really easy to order takeout from. Their Pad See Ew is one of my favorites!
google avatar

Michele R.

Yelp
A bit overpriced but decent portion sizes. Drinks looked overpriced too, but also looked good. Really the only issue I had here was that my noodles were prepared way too spicy... And I usually like spicy food. I ordered a 2/5 and the food was spicier than the 5/5 I order at my usual thai spot. I'll still give them a second chance, but the first one was mid at best.
google avatar

Aurora F.

Yelp
Customer service is good, very attentive. I noticed that it's definitely a place to bring bigger groups or date nights. Overall the food was decent, I think I been to other Thai places with a bit more flavor on the food.

Yelp
Love their Saturday, Sunday brunch menu! They serve congee and other interesting Thai breakfasts. Their regular menu is also good, long and lots of variety. Price is very reasonable.

Yelp
The atmosphere was what stood out to me right away. You can tell they leaned fully into their fern theme and it really works. The lush ferns flowing down everywhere really give it a nice vibe. It took me going up to them and feeling the ferns to realize they were fake witch just goes to show how well they disuse it. I never say this, but the fake plants actually look really good. They even have brown parts to make it look like some of it is dying. As for the food itself, it seemed really genuine. Our pad Thai came with a banana flower which we had never had before. I don't think it added much to the flavor but it was a nice touch. The pad Thai itself was really rustic and was very savory. Personally I like my pad Thai a bit more on the tangy side and a bit stretchier with the noodles but this seemed like a pretty solid one even if it wasn't for me. The tofu starter tasted like chicken with the breading it had. To me it was a little bland but my wife liked it (and in the end that's what matters). The staff was friendly, answered all our questions and even incorporated the banana flower when we didn't know what to do with it. There is no wifi which was a little surprising in Seattle but not a big deal. As for the price, it was pricier than I am use to but that could be on par for the area. For one person (appetizer and dish plus tip) it was a bit above 40. Overall a great place for the atmosphere, staff, and pretty decent food.

Yelp
This restaurant serves the best Tom Yum I've ever tasted, and their Pad Thai is also exceptional. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. It's a great place to relax and enjoy a drink at the bar. I highly recommend checking it out!

Yelp
The food was so good! Not too oily but so flavorful. The service was prompt and went on a Monday night. Super cool place to get drinks and take friends! Highly recommend the chicken!

Yelp
Was a great experience having dinner here, staff were so friendly and the overall vibe was nice. There's karaoke which made the experience even better! Def would recommend

Yelp
Came here for dinner with my coworkers (6 ppl) on a Thursday evening. It was pretty empty when we arrived (6ish) but that didn't underwhelm the atmosphere at Fern Thai - it felt warm and inviting. Our server was super friendly and attentive, always check in with a big smile. We were a group with diverse dietary preferences including vegetarian, pineapple-allergy, seafood-hater... each of us was able to find a range of food options to order from and everyone loved their meals and drinks. My duck curry rice was very tasty! I'll definitely come back for more.

Yelp
Fern Thai Capitol Hill is a lovely Thai restaurant located right in the heart of the trendy and popular Capitol Hill Neighborhood of Seattle. The inside is very chic and modern (as are a lot of the newer restaurants in the area). The space is quite large with a very nice sized bar in the back of it. The kitchen is like semi-open so you can see into it a bit although most of the tables don't face that direction. We came in with no reservation with a party size of 9 and were expecting them to turn us away or tell us to wait a long time, but they very kindly assembled some tables together and had us seated in minutes which was awesome. The menu is fantastic with prices consistent with the rest of Cap Hill - a lot pricier than I am used to in the Midwest, but seemed normal with the other restaurants I visited while on this trip. I ate the Roasted Duck Curry which was fantastic - a little bit of heat, very tender duck, and a whole lot of flavor. I particularly loved the lychee's they included right in the curry. I have never had that before, but it was a very welcome addition. One warning I do have is that someone in our party asked if they could have one of the lovely sounding N/A drinks, but alcoholic and the server said yeah absolutely no problem and it ended up being 20 something dollars because it was charged as two separate drinks basically so would not recommend repeating this mistake! Overall, though delicious food and a great atmosphere.

Yelp
Love this spot. The food (we ordered veggie spring rolls, garlic prawns, kao soi, and Jasmin rice) was spot on. I am usually worried about food being too sweet, but thankfully it was not without losing flavor. The ambiance is lovely, lush with all the green plants. I took a star off because the cocktails were not as good. But it's a solid spot, and I definitely recommend it!

Yelp
Fern Thai is a fantastic spot for pre-drinks dinner eats. The interior is well designed, extra AF, and beautifully lit. The sausage appetizers come with a healthy portion of two different sausages. The papaya salad also strikes a great balance of salty, sweet, and savory. The dishes all come well presented and in heavy, rustic bowls/plates. Especially the pad thai. The prawn pad thai has some of the tastiest prawns I've ever had. Going to miss this place when I move out of the area!
google avatar

Yelp
The food here is INCREDIBLE. The service was great and our server was very kind and attentive. The cocktails were delicious and the green beans and crispy garlic chicken were the absolute best I've ever had. My boyfriend said the Pad See Ew was "simply divine." The decor is very chic and perfect for dinner with friends or date night! Will definitely be returning here.

Yelp
This place is super cute on the inside and located in the heart of Capitol Hill. If you need a Thai fix, come here. However, I would say there's better options out there. I felt like the food was pretty mid, but that might be because I have to eat vegan at Thai restaurants and that limits my options quite a bit. Unfortunately Fern does readymade preparations so their sauces often have fish sauce within, so I'm unable to order curries. I opted for a basil fried rice which I thought was still good, but really lacking in flavor. I felt like I was just eating plain rice with no basil. The tofu smacked tho. The service was kind, our waiter was nice. :) My friends do enjoy the meat dishes a lot - come for those!

Yelp
Fern Thai is a fabulous spot to grab some delicious Thai food! If you're visiting Seattle, Capitol Hill has lots of food spots/cafes and shops, so if you're looking to dine somewhere and walk around after, this is a good option. If you live in Seattle, this is a great date night spot. The decor is modern and trendy with hi-top tables for two. The food itself was quite good! The Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) had good flavor, and some unconventional veggies you don't usually see in Drunken Noodles, like bamboo shoots and baby corn. The pricing and portion sizes were pretty standard-- around $17 for a noodle entree.

Yelp
Very cute thai spot in cap hill! The food was great. I got the sweet and sour with tofu (vegan) and it was pretty typical standard for the dish. My friend got the Pad Kee Mao and said it was delicious. The drinks were also very good. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
The ambience inside is lovely! Well decorated interior and looks like a fancy place with decent prices. Strawberry lychee lemonade: a cocktail that was quite sweet and interesting. The flavors went well together but not sure I'd get it again Fried tofu: this wasn't anything special either, not much flavor in the tofu itself unless you dip it in the sauce. However, there was the perfect crunch to it and the tofu inside was still soft. Pad kee Mao: a shareable portion that was packed with flavor!! Got a spice level 3 but I would definitely go up a bit more on that give the chance. Loved that it had veggies and was super saucey.

Yelp
We ordered Crab Rangoon, which my wife described as "the best crab Rangoon I've ever had". The Hat Yai Mini Wings were absolute marinated crispy perfection. As for the main courses, we tried the Crispy Garlic Chicken, Pad Thai Boran, and Pad See Ewe. All of which stood out noticeably from what you would normally get from your standard Seattle Thai restaurant or food truck. The price point is a notch up as well, but the quality and distinction is there to show for it. The staff was kind and friendly, and the decor of the establishment was quite nice. I feel like this stretch of businesses on E Union get missed by a lot of the casual Pike/Pine foot traffic, but you would be seriously missing out to ignore this place. Can't wait to return.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of dining at this beautiful and charming Thai restaurant, where I tried their delightful Tom Kha soup. The soup was a true culinary gem! It featured a creamy coconut milk base with just the right touch of sweetness and a hint of spiciness, perfectly complemented by tender chicken. Fragrant lemongrass and lime leaves added a refreshing and aromatic dimension, while mushrooms and tomatoes provided a delightful textural contrast. This exquisite dining experience in such a lovely setting made the Tom Kha soup all the more memorable. It's an absolute must-try for Thai cuisine aficionados!

Yelp
I really want to give this place a higher star than 3 but I was so disappointed during the most recent outing where I ordered the Panama Neau Yang with the side of roti for lunch. At prices of $19.95 for main entree and $4 for roti, I would have expected to been full or at the very least full-ish. The steak was teeny tiny in size - while flavorful did not justify the price tag. My sheer disappointment for the roti was shared by my dining companions. All of our jaws dropped at how small it was - it wasn't nearly flakey and most definitely not worth $4. The lunch along with Thai iced tea came to a whopping near 40 dollars for one! And I was still left very much hungry and mostly filled with disappointment. The reason why it gets 3 stars is that the flavors are nice - but be warned you will be hungry after eating here unless you want to break the bank.

Yelp
My favorite Thai restaurant by far!! I love the inside, it has an amazing vibe to it, and the food was amazing. Definitely better than normal Thai food you would get at another regular restaurant. I would definitely be coming here again and bringing friends.

Yelp
Hope you're strong because for some reason you need to open the door with all your might! Asked what was their "fan favorite " and was told the wings were one of them. Worst wings I've ever had. Wings looked anemic and had a horrible taste. Rest of the food was meh. Garlic chicken way too salty, Oh and you have to pay for rice??? Definitely NOT worth the $.

Yelp
Went here with my cousins recently and this is a super cool, cute and trendy Thai restaurant in the Capitol Hill area... and they stay open pretty late ! I LOVE their decor, this place is a whole vibe and it smells nice in the restaurant which is another bonus... some restaurants I walk in I think "I'm pretty sure this is how the nazis decorated their bunkers" or "This place smells like the jolly green giants jock strap" but neither of those apply to Fern Thai! They also play great music while you dine. The service is great as well, food and drinks here are pretty good overall but not the best from any Thai establishment I've ever been to. I adore lemongrass and I've had a lemongrass martini at a Thai restaurant in Kent and that one was to die for, Fern Thai's lemongrass martini was okay but definitely does not compare with the one I've had at the Kent restaurant. Not sure if it's just the different brands of vodka or what, but this one was no where near as good. The Panang chicken curry was a delicious red curry with chicken and a nice citrusy lime flavor.. it was delicious for sure but I felt it could have used some more vegetables. I got some sliced peppers in it but I was expecting maybe some chopped zucchini or carrot in there which I have gotten in my curry at other Thai restaurants but no such luck. I didn't get rice with my curry as i try to avoid eating it when possible to reduce my carb intake but I probably should have just got it for my curry since there was a lack of veggies. Although, maybe I made the right choice still as one of my cousins said the rice wasn't good. She said it wasn't like an authentic sticky rice and it was hard and dried out. Regardless of the minor flaws encountered, I still enjoyed my curry and the nice ambience of the place and might possibly return in the future if I find myself in this area again.
