The service was excellent and ambiance is fun but I thought the food was ok. I had the chicken tortilla soup. It was tasty but I wish it was heartier and had a little cheese. My friends on the other hand loved their dishes. They had nachos and street tacos. I will say that their margaritas were very good and strong!

It is really good place for friends or colleagues to have lunch. We are bunch of friends/colleagues went here for lunch and we loved every dish. Desert at the end Apple pie desert was not so great but decent enough.

Google
Service and atmosphere is excellent but the food is just OK. They put 3 large potato medallions within my fajita dish. I've never seen that before and my suspicion is so the lack of fajita meat isn't noticed? If you are more concerned about atmosphere and service this would be a good spot but otherwise there are definitely better Mexican food places out there.

My husband and I decided to dine here during Cinco de Mayo activities across the street and what a wonderful and blessed experience it was! When you walk in, you are greeted with a warm smile and customer service was exceptional! We were going to purchase an appetizer but low and behold, the waiter brought us complimentary tortillas, with an assortment of dips including salsa, quacamole and a spicy one. Because Queso is my favorite, my hubby asked for it and they brought us a nice helping in a bowl free of charge! I ordered beef fajitas with all the sides (Mexican rice, beans, pico de gallo etc.) and my husband ordered a seasoned shrimp and rice meal with a special sauce. We also had Peach and Strawberry frozen Margaritas which were very good. The food was absolutely delicious! We were stuffed from the tortillas and a few bites of our entree so we took our food to go. The manager and entire staff was so friendly and personable. He came over to our table and spoke to us for an extended period of time and was so nice to box all of our take home food. I'm not really a drinker but they even bought us shots of Tequila on the house. I sipped a little but gave mine to my hubby. Overall, if you are looking for a an Authentic Mexican restaurant with a peaceful and vibrant environment with tasty meals, please look no further and come to Fernando's at Cityline, you will not be disappointed!

We went there for dinner and ordered filete pedegral and filete San Angel. Both the steak were stale and tasted old. It tasted like previously cooked microwaved steak. The food was not worth the money. The steak sauce had too much wine and it definitely didn’t taste good. I will not recommend this dish or the place. The service was good and the atmosphere was okay. But the food was absolutely a big No.

Google
I visited on Valentine’s Day so the place was packed yet we were seated pretty quickly. This was our first time here and the staff was very patient and willing to answer all of our questions. I enjoyed the variety of salsas. We ordered the combo fajita and Serrano fajita chicken and both meats were very dry. Thant being said, they were not necessarily bad. If I visited again, I would order something different.

Lunch with co-workers after working 1/ 2 a day from a long week, is how it started. This was much needed & well deserved based on our overall experience. Staff was super friendly & attentive to our table. The food was superb & don't let me get started on the Frozen Margaritas plus Martinis-which were excellent!! We will definitely be back whether with our crew again, date nights, girls' night out, or just to enjoy the atmosphere! Overall, thank you for your hospitality & kindness ❤️

Google
This is the best Mexican I’ve ever had. I got the brisket taco. The flavors were so defined and authentic. Nothing tastes cheap the bartender was the most efficient and polite bartender I’ve had in a long time. Tbh I just wasn’t expecting the food, service l, and atmosphere to be so good and chill. It was a whole vibe. Definitely will comeback during my lunch breaks.

Goodness I.

Yelp
Placed a curbside order on a Sunday evening and when I arrived at the pick up spot and called the restaurant, I was told that the worker was too busy to bring it out and that I needed to come in. When I came inside and waited a bit, I finally was able to pick up the order, but the drinks weren't ready. Waited some more for that, and then was able to get the food and go home. Once actually eating the food, we were all please with what we got. Food was still warm when we picked it up and it was delicious. Despite the waiting that was involved, I'd still go back:)

Yelp
We've visited Fernando's a few times now and have found our experience has been good and consistent as we've tried different drinks and dishes. The servers have always been friendly and attentive as well. They will start you off with chips and three different types of salsas. It gives a nice variety of flavors depending on your preference for heat and taste. Their Chile Relleno (aka: called Hector) is delicious. It was the right balance of breading and the ranchera sauce added to the flavor of the dish. What was a bit of a surprise was the side of vegetables the dish came with - it was a great medley of zucchini, squash, cauliflower, etc. It was a nice addition to the typical refried beans and rice. I had enough to eat for dinner and left half of everything to enjoy the next day for lunch. My husband has tried their Pollo Con Mole Poblano. The mole sauce had great flavor and the chicken was really tender. At our last visit last week, I went with the Mario choosing chicken filling with the sour cream sauce. It was so flavorful I was having a hard time holding back and not eating it all so I'd have lunch for the next day (the portion again was generous). My husband ordered the Valentino which had the same chicken enchilada with sour cream sauce as in mine and also really enjoyed the flavor. His dish also included a cheese enchilada, and a beef taco. He found all three of the items to be delicious and had no problem finishing it all!

Yelp
We have recently been to Fernando's three times - the food and atmosphere is amazing! It is an easy walk from office and high-rise apartment buildings nearby which makes it lovely for an afternoon stroll to get there. The service was friendly and the meals were PHENOMENAL! This is our new favorite Mexican restaurant!

Yelp
....... CRITIC'S REVIEW ...... A hidden gem!!! GO-GO-GO!!! Awesome on everything!! Wow, am I impressed and can't wait to come back!! Atmosphere: Very impressive initial impression. Up scale with black tables and chairs. Soft elegant music (not Mexican) gives an overall very nice and relaxing appeal!! Staff is super professional and accommodating - special requests are welcome. MY KIND OF PLACE!! Frozen Strawberry Margarita: Wow!! One of the best I've ever had. Not too sweet, balanced, generous pour and exceptionally tasty!! GET ONE (or 3)!! 3 Salsas: Tomato (red): Really nice, mild tomato flavor, soft heat and great flavors. Puréed and delicious. Score 8 out of 10. Avocado (light green): Not what I expected. Soupy purée and hard to distinguish any avocado flavor. Very, very bland with no detectable flavor profile or spices. Score 0 out of 10. (Spit pea soup has more going on!) Cilantro (dark green): Hummm - actually a good surprise!! Never had anything like it - and it's good! Mild heat and very flavorful. A definite winner! Score 9 out of 10. Fajitas: Moist - not dry!! Generous grilled onions but not many peppers. 75% onion. Tortillas are great! Obviously made in-house. Chicken fajitas - traditionally seasoned, good flavor profile and disguising flavor profile. Not over stated, chicken flavor still comes through. Beef fajitas - Excellent!! Great seasoning but subtle. The beef quality comes through. Moist and perfectly cooked. One of my new favorites!!! (Really good!) I'll be back! Juacamole: Beautiful but a bit hot (7 out of 10). Lingering in the back of your mouth - spicy! But delicious otherwise. A bit to hot for me, but do nice I added it to my fajitas. Enchiladas : Sour Cream Chicken - excellent and perfect sauce. A bit on the small size - actually skimpy. Like a taquito size. Chicken is moist and beautifully seasoned. A definite come back for item. Flavor Score 10 out of 10... portion is a 4 out of 10. (They should double the meat and charge $2 more - definitely worth it!!) Beef - Very good. Meat is moist and not greasy. One of the few places with a chili con carne brown sauce. Very delicious and a unique spin on the flavor profile - in a great way! Gourmet level goodness. I'll be back. Score is 10 out of 10. Chicken Nachos: I didn't have them but they looked awesome. Got photo from friends at next table. Overall: A definite go place! Better than anything in the Richardson-Plano area... or Dallas for that matter. How did D Magazine miss this place!!!! (...Their food critics are asleep!!) Pass the word!! Eat here!! Score 10 out of 10!!

Yelp
Enjoyed Lunch at one of my Beloved Restaurants, it's differently been a minute since I've been But The food & Service Never Disappoints. We had patio setting and weather and atmosphere was very pleasant. Enjoyed by great food , nice staff , and great conversation.. i had the Bean & cheese nachos ( as you know always vegetarian option for me ) but hands down serve one of the best nachos in the Dallas area .. differently have vegetarian friendly options. And the Cheif is willing to accommodate you .. I will be returning soon .. Thanks for another wonderful visit

Yelp
Let me start by saying the service was great!!!. The staff was very nice and helpful. I read some of the other reviews and it is definitely NOT the Best place in Richardson or Plano. There is a reason D magazine has not been to this restaurant. The tortillas are NOT home made. I asked the waiter and he said they have never had homemade tortillas. Taco Cabana has better tortillas than this place. I am ranting here but the other reviews are very misleading. For appetizer we had the queso with brisket. The queso tasted and looked like velveeta cheese. My mother in law makes better queso in her crockpot. I had the Valentino. It was ok. My wife had the Pachuga de Pollo. She liked the vegetables the best. I was anticipating this place being a lot better. It's in a great location. The place looks nice. I think they are trying to be too upscale. Go back to the basics. My white father in law said it best. It's so sad when you go to a white Mexican restaurant.

Yelp
Service was great food and the salsa was magnificent . They greet you at the door seated us quickly and received beverage service and chips/salsa very quickly the wait was very short

Yelp
I went with a small group for lunch and we sat on the patio. All but one of us ordered from the lunch menu and the majority of us were disappointed with our food. This place os too expensive to be providing such poor quality food. My brisket tacos were pretty good, but everyone else was very sad about their food- especially my friend that ordered the lunch burritos. It was just chicken wrapped in a tortilla. Service was slow but friendly, my main concern was with the quality of food. I will not be back. Good union or literally anywhere else in cityline is a better option.

Yelp
Whoever in the world rated this below a 5.0 did not have the Huachinango last Lomas. Best dish bar none. You need to come here food is great!

Denitrea V.

Yelp
Food was good. I had a salad. At first I was disappointed cause I thought it was going to come in a taco shell like my friends' and I also thought goat cheese was going to be throughout the salad; but it was not. They only had goat cheese spread on top a tiny piece of toast. However, the salad was still good and healthy; I just know better next time. Service was excellent and the ambience was nice.
google avatar

Ron D.

Yelp
Really nice location that was well staffed and prepared for our large group. In addition to the Spanish coffee that was lit on fire and the traditional sizzling plate of fajitas - we were really impressed by this hot apple pie dessert.
google avatar

Lauren H.

Yelp
Service was very good for starters. The food itself is decent and the drinks were strong. I am yet again blown away at how in the world a place with $20-$30 plates can have some of the worst queso in Richardson. This is not real cheese... there is no way it is. Flavorless and gel like consistency. How hard is it to just make real cheese queso? If you can't tell by now, queso is a make it break for a restaurant for me. Other than the queso it was decent food but I feel the prices are a little too high here.

Yelp
Treated a friend for a birthday brunch at Fernando's. Plenty of seating space so we managed to snag a table early (they are definitely busy during evening hours). Our server was friendly and accommodating throughout our dining visit and then he recommended this delicious dessert. What a great way to finish off our meal!

Sean B.

Yelp
Food was excellent, great vibe and our family had a wonderful time. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I was a fan and semi regular at this location until lately, especially today I am done with Fernando's. Sat at the bar between 5-6 on a Tuesday, no hi, no welcome, no what would you like to drink, no be right with you. Silence from the bar staff. Finally a waiter brought me chips and water. I asked if I can order a drink with him, I did. One of the bartenders asked if I'd be eating at the bar, I said yes. After that....SILENT! didn't come up and ask if I want a refill, more chips, am I ready to order, questions about the menu. NOTHING. They washed glasses and made drinks literally right in front of me but just couldn't bring themselves to make contact with a customer. By then I was definitely not interested in dinner at Fernando's. I had to flag down a bartender to pay for my drink and leave to have dinner at Gloria's. I know I'm only one and my business is a drop in the bucket. But although I didn't have dinner with you today, I left with a bad taste in my mouth. Sorry to bother you!! If you're a regular, they'll roll out the red carpet for you and actually have a conversation.

Yelp
Ok this is going to be a little harsh but their food is really underwhelming. We came here as a group for a week night dinner. The servers were pretty nice. Got our drinks and food ordered but my disappointment started from there. Their queso was so water down and it tasted like drinking a cream soup. Guacamole was so so. Then my grilled salmon was just lacked in taste, the green spinach was brown colored. Anyway, hard to see me to come back and probably won't book our company dinner here again.

Nancy G.

Yelp
Food: 5 / Service: 5 / Ambiance: 5 I've eaten at Fernando's a number of times and they never disappoint. They do have a lunch menu and if you order select entrees from the lunch menu, your drink (soda, tea) is included. This visit I had brisket tacos, which were really filled, were wonderful, their brisket is some of the best. The rice and beans are also great. My daughter had tamale and cheese enchilada, a staple of Tex-Mex, and theirs never lets you down. I've had flautas and beef and chicken fajita tacos that just amazing. Fernando's is a clear front runner for me and I go whenever I have a chance. They are moderately priced, so not cheap, unless you stop by for lunch, which is a bargain in my opinion. Also, their Coke may be better than McDonalds!

Yelp
First time to this restaurant--lasting impression to visit again. Food was great, service from Jose was good, and the ambiance was lovely. I had the chicken tortilla soup with extra avocado--I have never had it served the way it was served. The bowl for a cup size came out with tortilla strips, and avocado, then Jose, my water got a covered steel cup and pour the soup and the rest of the ingredients into the bowl. I love dit; it kept the soup nice and hot--right temperature to enjoy. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We will definitely be back again. Thank you Fernando's for making our first time visit wonderful.

Yelp
Visited this restaurant after a very long time. This is close to where I work but not a regular joint. The reason for visiting this time was for a holiday lunch with co-workers. We were a group of 6 and the service was quite good but I thought the food lacked flavor. I ordered 2 Chicken Tacos and the chicken while the quantity was quite good lacked any flavor. It was cooked shredded chicken with minimal seasoning between tortillas. The tacos were served with shredded lettuce, chopped tomato, and cheese. No Pico-d-Gallo, or any salsa. A tad disappointing.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is so good! I'm in trouble it's so close to work lol ! Nice ambiance and great staff.
google avatar

Jeannette F.

Yelp
The service at the bar is completely non existent at this establishment. I cheched my bank statement and saw that they tipped themselves $45. on a $29 bill. I placed a dispute with my bank. PLEASE CHECK YOUR BANK STATEMENTS AGAINST YOUR RECEIPTS!! THIS IS THEFT!
google avatar

Talesha C.

Yelp
The margarita's were good but not as good as other margarita's I've had. The refried beans weren't good and their coloring was off. It was strange. The rice and fajita chicken inside of the chimichanga were good. The fried tortilla wasn't that great but it may have been the sauce that was on it. I should've had them hold it to the size. The menu was way overpriced. I would've preferred to eat at one of those small hole in the wall Mexican joints over this one.
google avatar

Pamela A.

Yelp
The food was cold. The servers were very nice. TV on just about every wall. Drinks are pricey. I would recommend this place if you want to eat chips and guacamole and drink beer, mixed drinks and watch the sports games.

John T.

Yelp
I have only been here for the lunch special, but it has always been good. The service you receive for a cheap lunch is top notch. They easily handle any changes to the menu item I need. You can't go wrong on the enchiladas. Nice open environment that they keep very clean.
google avatar

Yelp
We came for the Merry Market and stopped in for lunch. Food, wait staff salsa, all amazing and great. Great atmosphere.
google avatar

Summer K.

Yelp
Hubby and I stopped here for lunch and we thought it was pretty good. I had the chicken fajitas and he had the chicken tacos. Honestly, I think the salsas were the best part of it. Ambiance was pretty chic and the service was good.

Lance M.

Yelp
The three salsas had amazing fresh flavor. Crazy quick how the food came out and it was perfect. While the cocktails are pricey they are incredible.
google avatar

Natalie G.

Yelp
Lemme just start off by saying: the service here is amazing. We were so welcomed here and treated with such kindness. THAT ALONE would lead me to return. The margaritas here are to die for! They are not stingy with the tequila and don't use margarita mix in their classic marg. It was delicious! 10/10. We ordered the fajita nachos and flautitas. The fajita nachos are maxing with beef! The meat was so tender! The flautitas were crunchy and yummy. We had so much fun at Fernando's, and will return soon!

sharte t.

Yelp
Order from the Toast app for my lunch and the tortilla soup I received had no barely any vegetables or chicken in the bowl. I was finished within 3 small bites. My lunch is only 45 mins and I have to walk from the Cityline State Farm building 4 across the street and did not have time to return. I will never return here. I also order a dinner salad and they put everything on the salad I request not too.
google avatar

Talitia W.

Yelp
Ordered takeout and the food was tasty. I ordered the Fernando Enchilada plate with side of rice and beans. I'll definitely order again.

Dapper D.

Yelp
I've been here twice at a friend's invitation. Let me just say I would not come here by my own choice. It is a modern, inviting, upscale -ish restaurant in Cityline . Our server's English was a little sketchy and he seemed hesitant at our orders but he got it right. My friend had a mango margarita that looked so good I asked if I could have one without tequila. He didn't think so but did say he would check and came back minutes later with a lovely version in a different shape of glass so we could tell the difference. The food here is mediocre and overpriced- we ordered nachos and a quesadilla- 18,95 for a grilled tortilla with a little cheese and some spinach seems scandalous. The spinach was watery and the construction was uneven - some portions were all spinach , others were virtually all cheese. Overall really not satisfactory. The nachos were sad looking discs of a lump of bean covered with cheese that looked microwaved and oily. Come for the drinks but leave for dinner elsewhere.
google avatar

Taylor K.

Yelp
The food here was so incredibly bad. The service was great and the ambiance was upscale - the decor looks like a steakhouse. The food was just so so bad. It was cold, weird tangy flavors, and felt artificial. Will not be back.
google avatar

Randy D.

Yelp
I have had several business lunches here. Nothing memorable , it's a fine place. But today I ordered the Milanesa , it was so blah ans plain. Skip this item. Oh and btw they left off the only redeeming part the avocado.
google avatar

Anna C.

Yelp
A really lively place! The location is perfect - it's next to other eateries and the Cityline courtyard that hosts weekend concert at night. It is always busy here and the atmosphere is great! It seems like it's a great place for group get together, family gathering, and I intimate date night. The food is great! We had the fajita special and that came with tons of sides and fixings. The shrimp cocktail is so addictive. We were lucky to get a booth seat and enjoy the indoor. They also have lots of outdoor seating that's great for enjoying the weather and the music on those special nights. I think service was just fine - the waitress was available when we need her and came to check in at the right time midway. Some of the servers are so talented carrying those heavy tray over their head without losing balance - that's skills!! I love the ambiance and would come back to try the other dishes like their regional specials.

Nadine W.

Yelp
First time dining at Fernando's and boy was I blown away by the hospitality. The manager and server all did an amazing job. They were very attentive, always made sure our chips were filled up and we even got to sample their own hot sauce. We had the nachos with beef and I have to say the amount of beef on each nacho was more than generous. We drove all the way from South Dallas and it did not disappoint! Immediately when we walked through the door we were greeted by the friendly staff and managers and when asked for a booth the manager replied: Definitely without hesitation! Love the ambiance and did i mention the chips? The chips were perfect not oily at all like most Mexican restaurants. It had the perfect crisp and warm when it got to our table. Definitely a new favorite place! Next time I would love to try more dishes which I am sure will be just as amazing!

Yelp
I was craving brisket tacos but very disappointed it was so dry!!! Overpriced for sure. My boyfriends food looks delicious tho! Waiters were great and accommodating. Chill vibe at the Togo counter near the bar.

Yelp
Best TexAmex restaurant with romantic atmosphere excellent staff top grade spinach enchiladas and Salsa sauce! We have finally found a great tasting TexMex restaurant in the walking distance! We will be back for our anniversary dinner.

Julia H.

Yelp
Tony is awesome very experienced. Apple pie w cinnamon ice cream was amazing. Honestly everything was great drinks, food, service! Very relaxed dining room.

Joshua C.

Yelp
Solid. When you go here, you know what you're getting. Quality food, cool spot and service is awesome.
google avatar

Taryn I.

Yelp
This place is AWESOME!!! I went for Brunch and boy was I surprised!!!! My server didn't seem to speak much English, so for my "Double" Bloody Mary, I got a shot of vodka ON THE SIDE! ‍ The food was absolutely AMAZING!!! I will definitely come back!!!!!
google avatar

Ryan N.

Yelp
This place is located in the suburbs of Richardson, right off of George Bush. It is in one of those areas where it is a mix of apartment complexes with stores/restaurants on the bottom levels. In regards to parking, if you're lucky, you might be able to get street parking. But if not, there is a free visitor garage where you can park, but some walking will be required. I love that this restaurant has a decent sized patio area, and that was where I enjoyed brunch. I started off with the ceviche. To my surprise, it was a fairly big serving! I know it's meant to be shared but it can be a meal by itself. And plenty of seafood can be found inside. I also ordered the omelette with chorizo. The meal was a bit greasy, but good nonetheless. This place doesn't really shine above the rest of the available Tex-Mex restaurants in the area, but it's definitely worth checking out!
google avatar

Jamie P.

Yelp
Food was good, service was quick and friendly, casual dining with pretty surroundings.

Kelly D.

Yelp
0 zero star. I went there with my husband on Wednesday afternoon, the restaurant was empty. We order beef and chicken fajitas. The meat was reheated-it tasted like rubber, it was the worst fajitas I ever ate. We're not going back! Very very disappointed!

Frank G.

Yelp
There is nothing great about this place. Not the food, service or ambience. I would not return, honestly
google avatar

Dana S.

Yelp
It's so hard to find a good Mexican restaurant. But this was the one!! From the chips to the appetizers, everything was sooo good. Me and my friend weren't looking to eat much so we both shared the appetizer. I thought the nachos would be too cheesy, but they actually ended up being really good and to my surprise had beans inside of them. Our drinks were good. We had 3 of them and weren't to drunk, but we were at the perfect level. The chips tasted like they were home made and so fresh. All the flavors of the salsa were good, but of course the red one was my favorite. I would have given this place 5 stars, but our waitress was not feeling us. I don't know if she was having bad day, but the looks she was giving and the energy she had was off. It wasn't until later that she came around, but by then the guy who I'm not sure is the manager or owner was taking care of us. He was sooo amazing! So thankful we went here, such a nice place to go for lunch and have a drink or 2.

Michael G.

Yelp
We enjoy Fernando's food and drink. On our recent visit I tried the Filete Perdregal. It was surprisingly good for a Mexican restaurant. I will definitely branch out for the usual Tex Mex from now on.
google avatar

Yelp
Best price. Most flavorful enchiladas, try the sour cream and chicken. Chips and salsa is delicious. The service is great, fast and they come back often to refill drinks and serve you.
google avatar

Mercedes A.

Yelp
Fernando's is a great place to grab a quick bite and drinks. My friend had the chilaquiles, which were not your traditional chilaquiles. She didn't particularly like them, but didn't hate them either. I had the fried taquitos. Came with rice, beans, guac. It was good. The sangrias are a must!!

Colby S.

Yelp
The food was great! I ordered the enchiladas, soft, and hard ground beef tacos! I would've gave a 5 star review but the guy taking the orders wasn't very friendly and acted like we were annoying him by being there. Besides that everything was great. I would definitely recommend.

Yelp
If you are a WASP that doesn't like spicy food but you want Mexican food that will be just like you cooked it in your home kitchen, this is the restaurant for you. I firmly believe you could buy every ingredient that we ate at your local Kroger almost exactly as it was served to us hot and fresh. There was nothing "wrong" with the food here. From the store bought chips and salsa to the store bought tortillas everything tasted exactly as your local Kroger would intend. Being someone who has enjoyed delicious Mexican cuisine in Houston and San Antonio the food here didn't live up to my expectations of seasonings and flavors. Our server Jeziel was kind to our talkative son and very attentive to bring us drink refills immediately. My parents would think this place is fantastic.
