I've tried dozens of fine-dining restaurants in Asturias and I'd say that Ferpel Gastronómico is a contender for the best restaurant in the entire region. When assessed based on the experience, service, food and price point, it's very hard to beat Ferpel. We went with their basic dinner menu, for €96 and the experience was absolutely incredible. This price is substantially below other Michelin star restaurants in the region and comes with a complimentary glass of white wine, a bottle of cider and a specialty coffee at the end of the meal. The experience guides you initially from the pantry with a theatrical display of oysters, to the kitchen where you can chat with Chef Elio, and then to the dining room where a majority of the dishes are served. All three locations have such a wonderful and immersive atmosphere, I especially enjoyed the kitchen area!
Ortiguera is absolutely a stunning area for this restaurant and we were very lucky to have a table looking out towards the lighthouse, where we could witness the sun set and the darkness engulf the windows. The service is friendly and professional, and not at all intrusive. We arrived at 9:30 PM and left at almost 2 AM, it's a true experience! The only drawback for us was that we came via a taxi from Navia, and by the time the dinner service ends (as it is a set menu), there are no taxis available, so it is recommended that you drive here. All in all however, I would confidently say that Ferpel is the best restaurant in Asturias if you're looking for a true interactive experience at an incredible price point. Ferpel offers far more dishes than other restaurants of a similar standard in Asturias, for cheaper & a really interesting experience which introduces you to local ingredients. We will definitely be back to try the extended menu!
