Budapest Restaurant Serves Socially Distant Dinner on Ferris Wheel | Eater

"A large ferris wheel in Budapest was repurposed as a pop-up dining venue for a one-night, four-course service by a Michelin-starred restaurant; its private cabins made socially distanced seating feasible, but the cabins lacked heating so diners relied on blankets, and organizers intend to run the event again in warmer conditions." - Jaya Saxena

Definitely worth it! I think it was a very nice experience! | recommend visiting in the daytime because by night you see just lights. If you visit by nighttime don't go after 23:00 because all the city lights are turned off

We liked it. It did give a good view over the erea. Not even so expensive. We got 3 rounds for the price. In general the area around the wheel is beautiful. A place to meet.

Budapest Eye is a great attraction located in the heart of the city, offering beautiful views from above. The Ferris wheel gives you the chance to see many of Budapest’s main sights from a unique angle, including St. Stephen’s Basilica and the surrounding rooftops. The ride itself lasts around six minutes, which includes several full rotations, giving you enough time to enjoy the scenery and take photos. It’s especially nice around sunset or in the evening when the city starts to light up. The cabins are enclosed and feel safe, making it suitable for all ages. While the experience is definitely enjoyable, the ticket price feels a bit high for the short duration. Still, if you're visiting Budapest for the first time, it's a fun and memorable thing to try at least once. Budapest Eye is easy to find and usually well-managed, with decent queue times even during busier hours. Overall, it’s a lovely way to get a quick view of the city from above. Four stars mainly due to the price, but the experience is worth it if you’re looking for something light, scenic, and centrally located.

This Ferris wheel, visible from many parts of Budapest, was something we decided to ride because my 9-year-old niece wanted to. Unfortunately, for the price they charge, the experience is a complete rip-off. Watching the view could have been nice, but the wheel turns way too fast and gives you very little time to look around. Before you even realize what’s going on, you find yourself back on the ground. I do not recommend it.

We were on a long stopover (6 hours) in Budapest, we took a bus 100E from just outside the arrivals, and within 36 mins we were at the city centre where we saw the Ferris Wheel of Budapest and decided to go to it. It was nice as we were abke to see the beautiful skyline of Budapest. Highly recommend to those here in Budapest in Hungary.

We visited on a Friday afternoon. There was no queue, and the Ferris Wheel was well less than a quarter full. You get 3 rotations for 4,900Ft per person. In our opinion, the wheel does goes too fast. No sooner are you on the wheel it is time to get off. You do get some nice views at the top of the wheel, and I am glad we took the ride. However, I do not think it is a good value for the price they charge. On a positive note, the staff were very polite and friendly.

Very expensive for what is offered. Only 3 rounds and you get off, in about 6 to 8 minutes. If the price of admission was half of what it is or the time was about double that, it would be OK. As it stands though - the price to value ratio is quite low. The view from the top was beautiful though. It would be nice to be able to actually enjoy it for a longer time. P.S. Don't bother buying tickets online - you still have to queue with everyone else who is buying tickets on site to get your paper ticket there. And also don't bother buying priority "skip the line" tickets either. You -still- have to queue in the same place as everyone else. You only skip the line after the cashier. Pointless.

The Budapest Eye isn’t the best vantage point in the city—but it offers a unique, romantic view that’s worth considering on a trip to this historic capital. Located at Erzsébet Square, this iconic Ferris wheel rises 65 meters tall, making it one of Europe’s largest mobile wheels . Although it doesn’t match the sweeping panoramas from higher hills or towers, its 360° cabins provide a charming, intimate ascent—especially lovely for couples seeking a memorable experience in daytime or illuminated at dusk. A fun fact: the wheel was originally installed in March 2017 to commemorate the 120th anniversary of Budapest’s unification in 1873 . Each ride lasts around 8–10 minutes, completing three gentle rotations and pausing briefly at the top—perfect for capturing that Instagram shot . If you’re planning a romantic outing in historical Budapest, this is a lovely complement to classic sightseeing—just be aware that for panoramic grandeur, other viewpoints may surpass it. Nevertheless, the Budapest Eye offers a cozy, memorable spin with a sprinkling of local history and hushed views over the Danube and city rooftops.
