Nestled in Richmond, Ferso’s Mexican Cuisine delivers an authentic Mexican dining experience with a welcoming ambiance and delicious food. On our recent visit, we enjoyed their veggie and chicken enchiladas, while our little one had nuggets and fries. To top it off, we tried their mocktails, which turned out to be a surprising highlight of the meal. The veggie enchiladas were packed with fresh, well-seasoned vegetables, wrapped in soft tortillas, and smothered in a rich, flavorful sauce. The chicken enchiladas were just as satisfying, featuring tender, juicy chicken with a perfect balance of spices. Both dishes came with rice and beans, making for a hearty and comforting meal. For the kid’s meal, the chicken nuggets and fries were crispy, golden, and well-cooked—a great option for little ones who prefer familiar flavors. A delightful surprise was Ferso’s mocktails, which were refreshing and expertly crafted. Whether fruity and tropical or citrusy and zesty, they complemented the meal beautifully, offering a great non-alcoholic option for those looking to enjoy a flavorful drink. The service was warm and attentive, and the restaurant’s atmosphere made it a great spot for a relaxed family meal. Ferso’s Mexican Cuisine is definitely a place we’ll be returning to for both the food and the fantastic drinks!

So, I just found this gem — it’s a Katy Mills transplant that made it to Fulshear/Richmond/Katy in August 2024. So glad they got out of the mall because this cuisine is several tiers above any food you could ever find at a mall. Staff is super friendly, helpful and attentive. They are also very knowledgeable about the menu. Surprisingly, finding authentic Mexican cuisine in the Houston area can be a bit of a chore, but Ferso’s delivers while firing on all cylinders. Their birria tacos are hands down the best I’ve had and their consommé that is served with them is phenomenal. Queso fundido is delicious and the flautas were great as well. Best black beans I’ve had in a while. If you’re looking for a south of the border fix in this part of town this place is a no-brainer. Come check it out. Delicious.

Okay, I saw this place I think at first in the Katy Mills mall, but I’m so glad they made there way out here. The flavor of the dishes at this place is on point!!! I’m not kidding, these spices are exactly what my taste buds didn’t know they needed! Many hats off to Sophia the owner. Gaby and Victoria were the awesome friendly staff who took care of our dining needs. We ordered Horchatas as our beverage, and started with the blanco queso to complement the red salsa. Thick and creamy is how I’d describe it, and I like the thickness of the chips served here. I ordered the Verde Chicken enchiladas, the chicken was seasoned quite flavorful and plenty of sauce. Rice and black refried beans accompanied the enchiladas. My husband got the alambres which were served in a pile on the plate, despite the plating the meat was very soft and tender to the bite. We finished off our meal with a sweet treat, the flan. Very creamy and a bit thicker in consistency than I’ve had before but not certain what to expect as this is a Veracruz style dishes. Nonetheless, it was so delicious and I’m for certain coming back to try the flautas. We ordered off the lunch and we both left stuffed, couldn’t imagine the dinner portions. I legit wanted to lick the plate once I was done, I highly recommended!

They are just opening and I think working out some kinks. We had lunch here on a Sunday at 2pmish. There was one older couple here. The staff is really nice, they want you know it's a traditional Mexican restaurant, not texmex. The place is clean the music choice is odd for a Mexican restaurant. It was 80s elevator music. Heart, Billy Jole, stuff like that. The food is where I think they need work. The tacos were flavorless Al Pastor and beef. The signature salad sparse on the chicken. The prices were pretty high for the quanity and quality of food. Three good tacos for $16, okay. What I got, nope. I hope they figure it out soon or they will not last in this crowded market.

AUTHENTIC Veracruz / Central Mexican food. NOT Tex-Mex. If you crave the type of Mexican food you get in Arizona, New Mexico, western Colorado, and parts of California… you can get it right here. We just got back from AZ and this food is even better than some of the restaurants there. The owner and his wife share their family recipes at a great location that is easy to get to. Please tell all your friends!! This place is going to get popular fast!

Amazing quality here! Don’t pass on this place! Margaritas, fish tacos, Sopes, and queso fundido were just wonderful! You won’t be disappointed in the quality of food or service. We loved it. ❤️❤️

I absolutely love this restaurant! The food is wonderful! The drinks are wonderful! The service is exceptional! The location is a little bit hidden behind a few other restaurants, but it’s definitely worth stopping in and trying all of their wonderful food!

Wow!! We are so pleased we finally got to try this place! We have been reading all the reviews for so long and now that they have a place near our house we may be going here a lot! Tonight the weather was already getting bad right before Winter storm Enzo hit so, we had the restaurant to ourselves. The owner, Fernando, met us the door with a smile and welcomed us! He was super nice and went over all the different menu items with us. We started off with the queso fundido with peppers and mushrooms! It was so delicious and served with really fresh warm tortillas! We then moved on to the main course. I had the enchiladas verdes which were absolutely fantastic! The tomatillo sauce was outstanding and the grilled chicken filling was super flavorful! My wife had the birria enchiladas which were also super delicious! All of the food is traditional Mexican food, not Tex-mex, and flavors and we love it all! We topped it all off with the flan for dessert and it was superb! We love the atmosphere and Gabby who served us was really nice! We will be back! Highly recommend!

The food and presentation was perfect! Teh service was wonderful as well. A definite little gem in our Fulshear area. Thank you for giving us some awesome and authentic food in our area!

Ambiance: bright, welcoming and clean. Spacious eating area with lots of seating options - small to larger tables and booths. Also has a large bar area as well. Service: super friendly and nice. Water refilled often and came to check on our table to bring things we needed. We came late in the evening and there were about three other families there with us. Parking was harder because of Texas Border's people, but overfill could go towards the Goldfish swim side. Food: We loved the flavors of the salsa and thickness and crisp of the chips. Would definitely recommend for this alone. They refill the chip bowl and salsa as often as you need it to be filled. I ordered the birria taco plate and my husband got thr enchiladas Verde. We also ordered the queso appetizer that came with three corn tortillas. The cheese was good, but was melted cheese on a hot plate that got super toasted on the bottom and coagulated fast. It may have been better if you added chorizo, but wasn't to our tastes. I have heard that a lot of people liked it, but we only ate it with the chips and I stuck some in my birria. The tacos were stuffed to the brim and were very flavorful. I liked it best with the consumme and felt that it would not be as good without that. The enchiladas weren't as hot as it could have been (but we like them burning hot to be all melty) and looked like it should have been more flavorful than it was. The beans were really good. I did not try to rice so I am not sure how they were. Overall, I do like the food, but would probably try something different next time. For the three items, our meal came to be around $60 before tip. They have pretty high reviews on the Katy Fort Bend food groups so we will give it another try and try some of the other foods.

Excellent local food. Give it a try if you are in the area. The flavors for all our dishes was spot on. Lots of intricate spices and portions. Definitely worth a try and away from the chain stores.

The chips are hard like a rock. The queso is just melted cheese with no flavor. The salsa, nothing special. How does this place have 5 stars? The birria plate was average. Their food definitely lacks flavor and salt. Don't be fooled by the 5 stars. Please. Go to Papacitos or Alicia's or even Lozano's and experience better. This is a review from someone who has dined in so many restaurants that I can tell you the truth. The others that have rated this place 5 stars probably don't dine out much.

Was very disappointed in our experience. I'm not even sure we had a waiter. Seated immediately but no drinks offered. One girl came to the table after 15 minutes and said "do you want to order?" No smile. No welcome. Nothing. Owner (?) stopped by table and shrugged, said, sorry, everyone came in at once. Place was not even half full. Had to ask for chips and salsa. Drinks (water and tea) had no ice. Food took over 30 minutes to come out. Enchiladas were very tasty but not very warm. Rice was slightly undercooked (grains were hard) and both rice and beans had a slight melted plastic taste, enough that I stopped eating them. No one ever came to ask us if we needed anything, refill our empty glasses, or bring our check. Finally waved same girl down and asked to pay. She walked over with the card machine and held it out, took payment and walked away without a word.

IF Y'ALL AREN'T RUNNING TO GET HERE Y'ALL ARE MISSING OUT!!! I have had Mexican food in several cities, states, AND countries...since I am Mexican. lol The owner is a GENIUS in the kitchen!!! The quality and flavor palette are EXQUISITE!!! The owner himself said he wanted to stay true and authentic to the foods & flavors of Mexico and not conform to doing Tex-Mex just to draw the crowds. He wants to stay small so that he can continue focusing on perfecting the quality and flavors. That says ALOT!

My whole family loves this authentic gem. The owner is very nice and we love the dishes we've ordered so far. Best tortas, excellent fries, flavorful steak, and honestly we haven't gone wrong with anything on the menu so far. Very happy that they opened a new restaurant so close to us.

The ambiance was stunning, with spacious seating and perfect lighting. The food was absolutely delicious, and the presentation was impeccable. Every dish we tried was portioned perfectly, and the attention to detail was spot on. The owner personally came over several times, offering friendly advice on menu recommendations and making us feel truly welcome. It was such a wonderful experience that I'll definitely be returning. Next time, I'm excited to try the shrimp tacos--they looked incredible!

If a customer orders two entrees and two kid's meals, we should get more than 1 set of sauces. -The prices are kind of high for tacos (~$5 each). -The food was salty. What we ordered: 2 kids tacos $14.00 1 taco al pastor $14.00 1 mixed tacos $15.00 Total: $46.56 post-tax

Thuis place has excellent Mexican food that is truly Mexican. The Puntas De Filete Rancheroa was very good, and the beef tips were tender as ever. The location might be in the back away from the 1093, but I would recommend taking the time to find the location. It will be well worth the effort. The service was great, and the staff made sure we had all we needed.

First time here. The service is good and the food was great with lots of options to choose from. Good portions and flavorful. This meal was around $16+tip with complimentary chips and a water.

I have lived here all my life and I can tell you this is awesome Mexican food. This is authentic, not Tex Mex. Restaurant is extremely clean and service was great. It's behind Texas Borders grill and hard to see from 1093.

Mannnn this was good. Finally authentic Mexican food with real flavors! So far I've been to 7 different Mexican food restaurant in the last two months in and around Houston. This unassuming lil restaurant in the Katy Mall is by far the best. I hope they manage to stay open with this location. I feel like outside the mall they would be much busier and could offer better hours. That aside, loved this place. We ordered carne asada tacos, cochinita pibil tacos, and birria tacos with consume. Everything was perfect and bursting with flavor. Literally no complains. They have 4 or 5 different salsas you can order too that were all very good. They do have beer and the service was great as well. Make sure to check them out. Don't let the mall location fool you. This place is legit!

I wish I would have taken a pic before I dove in to my meal. Presentation was beautiful and the food was delicious. We ordered enchiladas de birria and a taco plate. Everything was very good. Friendly staff and great music from my childhood playing in the background. I don't think people have found them at the new location yet. We were here at an off time (3pm) but we were the only ones in here. Y'all come show this place some love.

Absolutely delicious food. I felt like I was back in Yucatán. Servers were friendly and really seemed to care about your experience there. And although the restaurant is inside the mall, it doesn't feel like it. It's a full normal restaurant inside. Comfy chairs.

Happen to be at Katy Mills and my stomach was grumbling for some food. Not electing to get the usual mall food court food, I pulled up the Yelp app to see a Mexican restaurant within the mall with rave reviews across the board! Located near the AMC and Ross, Ferso's is definitely family ran and you can tell the food is cooked fresh! Customer service was excellent. The chips and salsa were excellent, the chips have a great crunch! For my meal I had the birria plate- great tasting and the dripping sauce was great! I wish it came with a small side of rice or beans - definitely would've put my meal over the top and my stomach fuller. Great tasting Mexican food for inside a mall, fresh, family owned, great customer service. Come check out if you're in the mall!

The food here is so good. It's not TexMex it's true heart and soul Mexican food. The service was prompt and courteous. It's inside Katy Mills Mall. Don't let that deter you. Then atmosphere is friendly and clean. I had a Pina Colada (not pictured) I drank it before I realized I should have taken a picture. . I'll be back to try another menu options. I had traditional flautos, my nephew is still raving about it.

I've been pretty disappointed by the Mexican cuisine in Katy but this place hits the spot! Don't let it being inside the mall deter you from trying it out. The service is great, and they provide a menu with pictures of the food for those less familiar with the cuisine. The menu gives you the option of a mixed taco plate, where you can choose three types (excluding fish and shrimp) and I think it's a great choice if you want to try a variety! The Cochinita Pibil was my favorite! The depth of flavor and juiciness of the pork still has my mouth watering just thinking about it.

I visited Ferso's about a month and a half ago--first visit. I had the pescado a la veracruzana. It was terrific! My wife had the enchilada verde which was good, but not exceptional. Service was great and decor was nice. It was certainly a much nicer restaurant than you expect to see in a mall.

Ferso's is amazing! The food is always fresh and made from scratch, the portions are generous, and they are not afraid to use spice and FLAVOR (which is a big problem with a lot of Mexican restaurants in Katy). The owner Fernando is always there to greet us with a smile and the dining room is always clean.

My husband and I finally ate at Ferso's instead of just take-out, and I am so happy we did. Wow-the good here is even more amazing fresh! I ordered a taco plate that comprised of cochinita pibil, carnitas, and birria. My husband ordered the chicken enchilada verde. They were all delicious! The complimentary chips and guacamole salsa were also fantastic. Not only was the food here delicious but service as well! The waitress was very kind and made sure we were doing well! I highly recommend coming here! I cannot believe there is a high-caliber Mexican restaurant in Katy Mills.

Almost didn't go because it's in the mall, but Everything was SO GOOD. I got 3 tacos and I couldn't tell you my favorite. I got a Marg too and it did not disappoint. I will definitely be back!

Authentic mexican restaurant plopped right inside Katy Mills Mall. The food was great with large portions - my only downfall was that the service is pretty dang slow and the servers only came by to refill our waters once our entire time there.

STILL GREAT FOOD, PRICEY DRINKS THOUGH I will never cease to recommend Ferso's for their authentic and great Mexican food, but after the pandemic, as several other restaurants, they became 'drink price scalpers'. Order a large horchata or other drink, including a Mexican soda, and it will seem like you are ordering a Grande Frapuccino with extra cherry at Starbucks. Folks: your food is great, and it is already on the 'high' side for being a restaurant in a shopping mall. If you think you need to get more money out of your clients, entice them to a dessert, or raise your prices by one dollar, but charging $4.50 and the like for drinks is ridiculous and just leaves your clients with a bad taste, literally.

The food is amazing! My goodness. Very enjoyable experience. Very unassuming in the mall but 1000% worth the trip. The service was quick and responsive. And the environment is clean and welcoming.

I tried this restaurant based upon the reviews as I was staying at a local hotel and I wanted something good. This has to be in top 3 for Mexican food in all of the USA. Please trust me and everyone else when we tell you this place is amazing!!! You'll thank us all later.

Yummers! Starting with the chips, salsa and fresh Pacifico on tap. We have been on a hunt for good Mexican food and Ferso's fit the bill. Deliciouso!

This is a sit down restaurant in the mall located next to the Tilt arcade. We came here to try Birria tacos. They were grilled corn tortilla tacos stuffed with meat and tiny bit of cheese. It come with broth to drip the tacos in. They were very good and met my high expectations. The chips for the table were good and we really liked the salsa. It wasn't spicy, so my son was able to eat it. The downsides were that the rest of the food was only mediocre and the place was pricey for being a small taco restaurant in a mall. My birria tacos came with 3 standard sized tacos and a small bowl of broth for $13.90. Like I said, the tacos were very good, but I was nowhere near being full. For that price, I shouldn't still be hungry, ya know?

One of the best Mexican Restaurants in Katy. The food is authentic Mexican and cooked with love. We followed the Yelp reviews and tracked Ferso's down at Katy Mills. Yes, it is in a mall BUT totally worth it. We got carne asada, quesadilla tacos and much more. It was exceptional. Making it even better is the owner. He is as good as the food. Made sure we were looked after and gave us a taste of things we should order the next time we there. One of our top restaurants in Houston. Go try it out and thank us later.

The food is absolutely incredible! More authentic Mexican than most places and really captures the flavors of Mexican cuisine. The service is incredible too, the owner always greets you and really pays attention to the service and every detail. Prices are really affordable too with quality ingredients. I would definitely pay more for that kind of food but it's nice that he wants to keep it accessible for all kinds of people to try the food. If you haven't been you're missing out!

I had the birria plate. Of course it was good. I like it with lime. The consume is good by itself. It was my first time having birria and it was really good. They don't have a bathroom but they allowed me to wash my hands at the sink they have behind the desk.

Took a lunch hour last week to have my wife's watch battery changed. After dropping it off at a jewelry store at Katy Mills Mall, I decided to walk a couple laps and find some lunch. First lap, I walked by Ferso's and there were no customers to be seen. So I walked through the food court; nothing. I decided to check Yelp and found Ferso's has average 5 stars with 98 reviews! So I hi-tailed it back there; after all, 98 yelpers can't be wrong. I chose the carne asada tacos. Served with black beans and rice pilaf, they were outstanding, some of the best I've had. And the service was top notch. Congrats, Ferso's on your 99th 5-star review! I'll be back!

The Beat Authentic Mexican in Katy! We got too excited and ate half way through. Everything was cooked just right, owner was really nice and attentive, will definitely will return.

My wife and I decided to try Ferso's for the first time. We've heard great things and meant to try in the past, and finally stopped for some tacos. Let me say, fantastic food, great service, excellent atmosphere. The menu is great with a variety of tacos and main platters. We ordered margaritas which were pleasant. We were in the mood for tacos and were pleasantly surprised by a good variety of tacos. My wife ordered the taco platter (your choice of any three tacos), and I went for the birria platter (9one of the few places in Katy I know that serves birria). All do it was fantastic. The owner was very nice. I look forward to returning with a bigger appetite to try a main platter

Definitely fresh food. We tried the birria plate and taco plate and found the food to be quite tasty and filling. The horchata was pretty good too. Not too overpowering with cinnamon. Definitely worth a try if you're in the Katy Mills Mall area.

Hands down on the Tacos Birria , at first I thought it would be to Tex Mex then we sat and ate and mind blowing when the food came out and the taste was very very good , I would definitely come back and recommend this place .

This place lives up to the 5-star reviews. Let me preface this review with: we recently relocated here from San Diego so I feel qualified to speak on Mexican cuisine - Mexico Mexican (Baja, Sonoran) not Texas Mexican. This place is legit delicious AND AUTHENTIC. We were beginning to wonder if we'd find Mexican like we love and miss from our visits to Mexico and the local family ran establishments we frequented while living in San Diego...and Ferso's is where it's at. We were immediately transported with the service, the flavors, the hospitality to another place and time altogether. Our new go-to spot! PS don't let the shopping mall fool you...it's inside and it's delightful.
