We were excited to try this place after my friend learned about this spot on social media and lives fairly close by. Unfortunately, we found the overall experience to be disappointing. The service was lacking, not friendly and just not what I want out of a server. We all shared a coffee rubbed yam appetizer which was good, but not AMAZING. My friend and I split the half chicken and the mushroom stroganoff. The chicken was nothing special, no unique honey flavor or anything to write home about. The mushroom stroganoff had some good garlicky flavor but had very tough tofu that wasn’t enjoyable - and I order tofu quite regularly. A Thai place will do worlds better. Lastly, we ended with the carrot cake and chocolate torte to share among four of us. I’ve almost never met a dessert that I didn’t like, but had only one bite of the carrot cake. It was too apple forward and mushy. The chocolate torte was rich and good. No notes there. I will say overall we all enjoyed our cocktails so the bar is doing something right, but this place could use a lot of improvement.

Such a local gem! We decided to try this restaurant because it is on the InKind app. I am glad that we checked it out! Four of us shared 4 small dishes, 2 larger dishes, and 2 desserts. Each one of them surprised us in different ways: they are not only delicious but also innovative combination of different culinary styles. I would go back and try every single dishes on the menu. My personal favorites: halloumi cheese, chocolate cake.

10 stars! Absolutely phenomenal food and an all around awesome experience. We came on Thursday which is fried chicken night and it did not disappoint. The chicken was juicy with a light batter. Just delicious. I think we are half the menu and loved everything but our favorites were the chicken, pork ribs, and whatever the mushroom dish is called. Seriously everything we ate was amazing. The chocolate bomb dessert was rich and dense in all the best ways. Place is so good we've already booked a 2nd dinner there! Highly recommend for a date night or even if you just want some delicious, well made food. Bartender (Joe?) was super fun to chat with and recommended some amazing wines. Oh yeah, all the wines are natural here. Seriously an awesome place and I cannot recommend it enough.

We love everything about this restaurant. It’s farm to table excellence. The food is exceptional (best burger I’ve ever had) the appetizers are all amazing, my husband raves about the steak, all the salads are creative and delicious, the drinks and mocktails divine. The lovely owner is always on the floor helping and greeting, all the staff wonderful, Allie fabulous, this is 5 stars all the way. Best restaurant in the area. I almost don’t want to alert people bc it will be booked every night but they deserve it, soooo good.

Few and Far is definitely one of the best restaurants I have been to recently. It has a friendly and cozy atmosphere with a unique menu that is full of delicious choices. Both my wife and I had the flat steak entree with bearnaise sauce and it was amazing. The extensive wine list is also a treat. You will not be disappointed if you give Few and Far try

What a great, lively spot! My daughter and I stopped in for dinner tonight. The place had a good crowd, but the service was like we were the only ones in the place. Food was amazing! Highly recommend the jalapeño mozzarella fritters and the chicken sandwich! The braised pork pasta was like a warm hug!

The food and service are absolutely incredible! Everything tastes unbelievably fresh, from the tomatoes and lettuce to the chicken, steak, and ribs, you can truly taste the quality in every bite. The owner and staff were so welcoming, and the atmosphere is both cozy and romantic. I can’t say enough great things about this place! Highly recommend!

Expensive, but worth it. Really nice people running it! Had good vegan options as well!! You should try it out. best part, oysters, Smoked Bluefish Pate, Squash appetizer. Nice night out.

Few & Far, located on High Street in Dedham Square, offers tasty and innovative cocktails, craft beers, low-production wine, and farm-to-table dishes in an energetic, modern rustic ambiance. The somewhat limited menu puts an emphasis on simple and casual dishes made from locally-sourced ingredients. Given the focus on quality over quantity, there's aren't a lot of options on the menu, so it's worth checking in advance to ensure everyone in your party will find appetizers and entrees that they'll enjoy. My dining companion and I recently stopped in to Few & Far on a recent Friday night with plans to enjoy a craft cocktail and share an appetizer before heading elsewhere for dinner. We were quickly seated at the bar and ordered a pair of cocktails from the very knowledgeable and very friendly mixologist behind the bar. I started with the Castaway ($16), a tasty tropical combination of Tom Cat Gin, Dry Curacao, Pineapple, Smoked Cherry, Lime, Grenadine that reminded me of a rum punch, and my dining companion had a traditional Negroni ($16), which she thought was one of the best she's ever had. We also shared the very tasty Mezze Platter ($22), served with cold edamame salad, bean dip, cherry tomatoes, and marinated blistered Shishito peppers. Our server and the chef went above and beyond to accommodate my dietary restrictions by subbing out the cheese dip and making a fresh batch of the cold edamame salad without cheese for us. Yum! Really tasty! Given how much we enjoyed the cocktails and appetizer, we opted in for dinner. I had the Fried Chicken Sandwich ($20), a freshly battered and fried chicken thigh served with spicy maple glaze, miso mayo, and fresh cole slaw, with a side of freshly made potato chips. YUM! The chicken thigh was very flavorful and melded well with the glaze and mayo. My dining companion had the Braised Pork Pasta ($28), a hearty dish comprised of braised pork chunks served with artisan pasta and sauteed greens and topped with a robust tomato and parmesan sauce, which she really enjoyed. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area! PRO TIP #1: Few & Far doesn't have its own parking lot, but there's plenty free parking in the Gonzalez Field municipal parking lot at the corner of High and East Streets.

Nice little spot in Dedham town center that has a refreshing menu which is not overwhelming but is unique. The interior is simple and clean and the folks are welcoming . Service is pretty quick when it is not crowded . We started with the fried pickled green tomato and jalapeño mozzarella croquettes. Super fresh and delicious! I loved the jalapeno croquettes - they have the right balance of spiciness and cheese and went wonderfully with my peach bourbon cocktail. Next we tried the creste di gallo pasta -my husband and I shared it . It was fresh and delicious. We are not huge portion eaters and for us this was the right portion size to share after having appetizers. Overall we enjoyed it and will definitely visit again.

A very good local restaurant with nice interior decorations. The inside is pretty spacious. It's best for small groups. If you are here with a large group, best make a reservation. They have outdoor seating as of August 2024. The food is indeed very fresh, and I think they are made to order. All their beer selection is from a can, not on tap. Free street parking after 6 PM right outside. There is also a parking lot across the street.

Service was amazing and the food was delicious. The prices were sort of high for cocktails but the small plates were generous.

First time to this place for dinner after the changeover and we were very pleased. 6 of us with 2 kids. Good view and ambience and pretty good service. We had the double dip and bread snack plates. Both were very good. I had the Jalapeño croquettes and the beets small plates as my meal. Both were awesome and the croquettes were very tasty and not too spicy. My wife had the steak which she enjoyed. My mom had the half chicken and it was great with flavor. My dad had the blue fish and as he expected for a bluefish, it was on the oily side (they seared it and served with corn and salsa). My boys had the Mac and cheese (which they liked and usually picky) and the chicken fingers (where I honestly was either starving or they were awesome as I had a bunch). The drink menu was also good. I had the Silly Goose which came in a tiki glass. My youngest son couldn't get over it. Would go back! Great for small group or date spot.

had their burger last night and it was not worth $25 - cheese was not even melted burger was not a patty it was pieces and the bun was not size appropriate for the size the burger was

Few and far offered quite intimate space to enjoy crafted brunch options. The space was dark, dim lighting. service was punctual and knowledgeable regarding menu choices. High quality ingredients.

Great experience with a family of four. I'm always nervous to take my toddlers out in a Saturday night and disturb dinner for others. The entire restaurant was so accommodating for my family. They had crayons and coloring paper. The waiter asked if we wanted to order the kids food early and i love that they have a menu with items that kids actually eat. I ordered the macaroni and cheese for my son. It was real cheese sauce, not Kraft Mac and cheese or the poor quality food typically given to kids at a restaurant. My picky eater ate every bite. Our waiter was very attentive. I ordered the hihi highball. It was great. Had to order two! We lucked out that Family canceled. Looks like a place where reservations is a safe bet. We just happened to be in the area shopping and wanted a quick bite. My husband had the chicken sandwich. Standard sandwich. I had the pasta with braised pork. Interesting dish. Overall, a great experience. My kids never had a chance to get antsy because of the speed and quality of food. As we were leaving a woman helped my son with his coat. Turned out it was a bartender. Just speaks to how nice everyone at the restaurant is. Forgive the grammar and spelling. I wanted to leave a note while it was fresh

I've had dinner a few times here sitting at the bar. The cocktails are very good, the staff is nice and attentive and I like that they constantly rotate the menu. For appetizers I have tried the Jalapeno & Cheddar Fritters, mezze plate, tomato salad, and 3 dips. Of the four the fritters are my favorite and I didn't feel the others were special/ good enough for the price points. For meals, I've had the sea bass and one of their pastas (I can't remember what it was called but it was big, green and divine). The fish was good and the pasta was great. My friends have ordered various other dishes and drinks and have liked them all. I like this place and it's great to have a small independently run restaurant in Dedham. There are too many chains and this cozy farm to table is such a wonderful option!

Absolutely fantastic service. Kind knowledgeable staff. Our "go to" When I was on crutches, in a brace, incredibly accomodating.

We sat at the bar which was beautiful. The bartender recommended the charred runner beans, and they were the best dish of the night. Also had the pasta with pork and mustard greens. My wife and I had planned to share the entree. It was so good that we ordered a second bowl. Excellent wine choices, lots of parking, and pretty much off the charts in every possible way. You wouldn't expect this kind of gem in Dedham, but it easily outshines pretty much every lace in JP, Brookline, and Newton. Ok, Newton has Sycamore but Far & Few is running neck and neck with them. We will DEFINITELY be back!

Has promise, but execution needs work. The menu is varied and interesting, and we tried selection of small plates plus two big plates. Portions are quite small- you won't have leftovers here, and the food itself varied widely in quality. The highlight was the kale and potato croquettes: hot, crispy, full of flavor, came with a lovely tomato dipping sauce, and were a delight to eat (wish there were more than just 3 in an order!). But other items were completely devoid of any flavor or seasoning: like the chickpea side that came with the perfectly cooked swordfish. That side also didn't make sense itself (just a watery blend of chickpeas, onions, and coins of carrots?) or with the dish as a whole (didn't make sense with the swordfish, nor with its other accompaniments of fries and salad). The pistou meant to go on the asparagus was literally watery and flavorless, and I think the pink slivers of something in the dish were meant to be pickled but that's hard to believe because they tasted of nothing. The 4-5 tiny duck fat potatoes had 0 hint of duck fat or salt, and weren't even cooked well. The pork on a stick came with 4 irregularly sized pieces of bland pork, one of which was too fatty to even eat, and a really strange tahini-ish tipping sauce. The ideas are all there: the menu sounds awesome and promising, and I bet these items are great when executed well. But it's hard to get excited about cold, soggy, unseasoned flops. Another downside was the execution of takeout/delivery. I question the decision to include these things in the same box: a piece of swordfish, a handful of skin-on fries, a mess of dressed baby gem lettuce, and a separate container of soggy chickpea salad. The whole box got mixed up and churned around, and also very soggy from both hot food steam and the dressing. Why was the chickpea salad in its own subcontainer, but the wet lettuce was not? Also, why did the temperatures and sogginess of our items vary so widely, were they prepared at totally different times? There's definitely an amount of "quality loss" to expect when you're doing takeout/delivery from anywhere (hand-cut skin-on fries are rarely going to ever be as crispy and hot as they would be if you're getting them straight from the frier)- but so many other places think mindfully about packaging and preparation to minimize that loss and do it well (looking at you, Midnight Morning). I'd be curious to see just how much dining in makes a difference- I'd guess a fair amount. This is a place I do want to support, and will return- but I think they have some kinks to work out in the meantime.

I had dinner a few nights ago, the service and drinks from the bar were excellent, but the food and wine choices need improvement. - Cocktails from the bar were very good. I had the Consuela, it was great! - Craft beer selection could use some additions - Wine by the glass selection is limited, considering the owner also owns the bottle shop next door. I was disappointed there was not a larger by the glass selection. - Cheddar and Jalapeno croquettes were ok, they were missing something. - Steamed Mussels were sandy, the broth had a weird taste and felt watered down - Double Dips were good, but they don't make them... - Rolls were fine, crusty on the outside (they don't make them...) - Chicken was fine, some bites overwhelming with ginger - Gigli pasta was very good, but way too small. We order 2 of them to share between 4 people who also all had their own entree dish, we are "regular" sized people and finished all the food. I've lived in a bunch of major cities, while I think the food here was fine, the taste was too far off from the price point for me. - Very expensive for the portion size. You may leave hungry. I hope both the depth of flavor in the food and portion size improve to hit the bullseye for the price point. I would try it again in 6 months to see if things improved, maybe these are just some growing pains. ...no burger on the menu seems like a huge missed opportunity :(

Amazing food and epic cocktail program at this fantastic New American bistro in downtown Dedham. Cool ambiance and attentive service, especially at the bar make this a fantastic suburban date night spot for foodies. We look forward to being back and seeing the new food and drink!

Our whole party loved this restaurant. Service was knowledgeable and attentive. The food and drinks were delicious. Some of the reviews mention price and it's on the pricier side but worth it in our opinion for our experience. Happy to have this addition to Dedham square.

Horrible, one of my worst ever experiences with a restaurant. I ordered salmon and it came to the table barely lukewarm. It was tasteless. The accompanying rice was frigid and congealed. Tiny portions, yours for $30. I asked for the check and discovered a 3% "kitchen fee," which had not previously been disclosed. I questioned this and was told it was so the kitchen staff can share in tips and that it was a "covid recovery fee." I also was told, falsely, that "all" other restaurants do this (they don't). First of all, covid ended as a restaurant issue at least 2 years ago. And besides, I've never before heard of a "covid recovery fee." Who is being compensated and for what? About the "kitchen fee," I tip for table service. If management doesn't pay the kitchen help appropriately that's their business not mine. That fact that the fee wasn't disclosed up front only makes it that more egregious. So to compensate I left a zero tip and needless to say I won't go to this restaurant ever again.

Stopped by for brunch on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Amazing service followed by amazing food! French toast was the best I have ever had and my husband's steak and eggs was absolutely delicious. Stop by for brunch. You will not be disappointed!

Service was attentive and great but the prices aren't worth what you get. I have to be honest and say we had drinks and three starters so I can't fully rate on dinner entrees. I eat out in Boston often and dont bat an eye at the prices in San Francisco or Miami but $22 for mushroom toast and $12 for a beer in Dedham seems a bit intense. Scallop crudo wasn't anything to write home about, mussels were ok, and the beet starter was the best of what we had. I was rooting for a new restaurant in the square but I don't think anything I had was better than what I had at Farmhouse in Needham last week and their prices are more reasonable. But waiter was nice. And their sister Satellite Wine shop is amazing and we go often for great recommendations and orange wine!

Excellent food with a lot of depth to the flavor profile. I loved the subtle tastes going on in each of the small plates we tried. Great brunch cocktail menu including actually interesting non alcoholic cocktail choices. excellent service. don't miss this gem!

It has been two months and I am still thinking about the mushroom toast!!! Tried Few and Far on a visit to Dedham to see family and had high expectations because Forage is my favorite restaurant. F&F exceeded all expectations. The staff was friendly and attentive to our experience without hovering and the atmosphere was chill without being pretentious. As a table we shared several small plates and a few entrees as we wanted to try everything. Don't skip dessert and "The Maine Breakfast."

I was excited to try this place as we have followed the team from several other restaurants including, Forage in Cambridge. Made an early reservation for a Friday evening before seeing a movie next door. I had the Consuela to start, which is a bit of a take on a margarita. I like sweeter drinks, so they sweetened it a bit for me which was perfect. We started with the Double dip, although the dips had good flavor, the crackers were a bit pungent/salty. For a main I really enjoyed the Create Di Gallo pasta, lots of flavor, and lots of veggies! My husband had the grilled striped bass which he enjoyed the flavor, although the dandelion greens were a bit bitter. We had enough room for the deconstructed strawberry shortcake, which was delicious! The team worked really well with one another, as the restaurant started filling up by the time we were leaving. Two things to note, loved that the bar staff checked to make sure I liked my drink. Also nice touch that the original server remembered that we were going to the movies. It is clear they take pride in this place. So glad they are now closer to my neighborhood as we will be back!

Delicious. Nice experience, good service , knowledgeable server/ re menu and wine recommendation. Jalapeño cheddar croquettes , herb roasted half chicken was perfectly roasted, pork Sugo pasta dish could have come out a bit warmer but was delicious. Happy to support a new restaurant , will definitely return !

Food was absolutely fantastic, and they were great with allergies and super accommodating. Everyone was great, and we will definitely be back to enjoy the bar as well as to eat

Delicious creative food, impeccable service, diverse and amazing wine list. Best addition to the burbs in a decade. Thanks Stan and Eric for bringing Forage freshness, deliciousness and quality to Dedham. Few & Far is comfortable, classic and feels like home.

Yum yum yum. A gem in Dedham square. We've been twice and had a great experience both times. It's not a lengthy menu, but it's pieced together perfectly. Last night we paired the wine of the week, which was incredible, with the swordfish and pork chops. Other favorites- the olives and 1/2 chicken. I appreciate that they offer kid options that were as high quality as our food but that kids also loved.
