Helmed by award-winning pizzaiolo Scott Volpe, Fiamme leans into classic Neapolitan technique—imported flour and tomatoes, fast bakes, airy cornicione. Locals and visiting critics alike note its steadfast quality and patio warmth in the Foothills.

Best Neapolitan-Style Pizza in Tucson! I’ve been to Naples, Italy, and Fiamme’s Margherita pizza is the closest I’ve found in Tucson. The sauce is smooth and flavorful, the fresh basil is aromatic, and the crust is perfectly cooked in their wood-fired oven. We had the lunch special with a generous pizza and a fresh arugula salad with house-made dressing—everything was delicious. Great service and staff. A true gem for pizza lovers!

Since moving to Tucson from Florida, I’ve been slowly building up a list of restaurants to get my favorite foods from back home. Recently I’ve been trying to find a white pizza that doesn’t cost $30- $40 and today I had a serious craving so I doubled down on my search and it led me to Fiamme, which I’m so grateful for. The 13” medium sizes pie only cost $21 and it’s everything I love in a white pizza-lots of cheese, some garlic and little dollops of ricotta 🥰 the crust is so fluffy and a sensory delight to eat, as well. I did take out, but the restaurant itself was a tiny hole in the wall so I personally would only come to dine in if it was off-hours to avoid feeling too crowded.

Google
Best pizza I’ve ever had in Tucson. Fast wood fired pizza. Sauce is fantastic (tangy not sweet). Very minor point and more of a personal preference is that I wish the cornice had more lift. I could have easily eaten a 2nd one as it was little and so good.

Google
A variety of pizza flavors on the menu. The service was great. I had a Carne and it was a good margarita pizza but it wasn’t baked enough. Very doughy and floppy. Next time I’ll order it crispy.

Google
Pizza is straight fire- Wood fired that is! Neapolitan style, blistered crust with a great chew. Fresh simple ingredients really lets the cheese, sauce and crust shine! 10/10!

Google
SUCH a great first experience here! Service is outstanding without being overwhelming. That’s a hard balance to find. The pizza is delightful! The SLICE is HUGE! Bigger than most medium pizzas you find anywhere else. 100% coming back for more.

Google
This is an awesome pizza, my definite go-to pie! You can taste the quality ingredients they use here. They definitely get busy, so go early or wait a little after rush hour. It is absolutely worth the wait!

Google
Good pizza. Always a good sign when a place is busy in a Monday with people dining in and take out. Will definitely be back for more.

Yelp
Another great find you would never think in the shopping plaza by Safeway. Great brick oven pizza! Don't be fouled by their small size they crank out those delicious pies. Yes I said pies because that's what we call them. Small space for dinning in but great service and great food whether you stay or or order out. Worth the stop!

Yelp
I really want to like this place but I cannot. Have tried it several times. The sauce and toppings are wonderful. Big problem is that by the time I get it home (12 minutes). The crust has turned into a slimy mess! Whole thing falls apart. I even heated the pizza stone in my oven before I left home and then reheated the for 15 minutes. Eating in is not a great experience.

Yelp
We arrived here on a Sunday night. There are about 8 tables 6 two tops, a 4 top and a 6 top. When you arrive you will literally walk through the kitchen to be seated. That was a bit odd. Colas are served in cans at $4 each. Teas are $3 each. You do get a glass of ice. We started with single slices, I had the standard slice of pepperoni my son a margarita slice. Pepperoni was spicy, lots of cheese, however, the bottoms were both very black, an indication that the wood fire over needs to be "swept". For our main pie, we went with the carne, a meat lovers delight. The dough was light and airy, good sausage, light sauce but not too light, quite spicy. The only downfall, incredibly greasy in the underside, but then again it is all meat. It is a really weird vibe. We were sat so close to the kitchen that the staff was folding pizza boxes right next to our table. All in all a decent pie. A solid B-. I Likely would have graded higher if there were additional menu items such as a few pasta dishes and an option for refills on drinks. But the place just works.

Yelp
Great pizza! Love the dough. Extremely disappointed with the dine in experience, felt like I was crammed in a hallway while trying to balance everything on our tiny table. Metal cold chairs. Soda in a can and no liquor. Would never dine in again but would get takeout!

Yelp
Small place with a real pizza oven delivering real neapolitan style pizza...heck they even have a few 'certified' neapolitan style pizzas made the old world authentic way. We didn't have those. I wanted to 'real' pizzas, you know the type with red sauce, but they had what seemed like more pizzas with no red sauce so we tried one red and one not. The red sauce pizza was far superior. The other was good, just felt flat and blandish, I think a red sauce on this same pizza would have a punch from acidic nature of a red sauce. As for service, we were the only customers sitting down so it was fast. Will go again because finding a proper neapolitan style pizza is rare.

Yelp
Made the trip from Vail, running errands to check the chew on this highly rated pie. Tucked in at the end of a Safeway corner mall off Swan, you'll find plenty of parking around. Narrow entryway leads to a hallway of tables for two and a couple of larger tables with a pie station in the front window and a galley kitchen in the back. It's frosty inside which is great for the cooks so grab a layer or 2, even the hubs was ashiver haha Our server was super, so polite, checked on us numerous times, and even offered us drinks to go for the trip home. The $15 Lunch Combo Special runs to 5PM daily, yes even weekends, and it can't be beat with ANY 9" pie + either Caesar, Caprese or Arugula salad + any of their soft drinks including San Pellegrino,Mexican Coke, Soda Cans & espresso/cappuccino but broken that day; we were trying to tame that in-house chill haha. Note that you get real metal cutlery and glass with ice to drink the soda cans, a much appreciated lovely upgrade to your dining experience over many a quick pie slice shop with plastic and paper cups. It definitely makes you relax, sit a while and enjoy the whole experience. Pizza crust is slightly charred black and bubbled, a great sign; it had a slight crisp but middle a bit under and kinda soggy. Prefer more sauce and for the sauce to be a bit more tomato forward and less cheese so sauce comes through. Ingredients were super fresh and the side salad was huge and lightly dressed with lemon vinaigrette, cherry t's, pine nuts & shaved parm ($$ ingredients). As Portland part-timers, we have an abundance of excellent pies to compare to, and so far Falora and Empire are our faves. We'll hit the Detroit deep slices soon. Fiamme is a tad far to check out again quickly but if running around the Foothills it will be on my radar to give it a go again and ask for more sauce, less cheese and to char it up, blistering it all over. Great folks, excellent service, cook/owner? thanked us for coming in, relaxed dining experience for a strip mall stop, with a chill dining room for sure to hide from the heat lol. Thank You Fiamme; we love supporting local!

Yelp
Great pizza at a great price!!! Second time coming here and the pizza has been great both times. Nice light semi chewy dough cooked to perfection! We will be back next time we come to town!

Yelp
This is the first time I have been able to eat this much pizza without getting bloated or uncomfortable after. The toppings were fresh, the dough sublime. The service was prompt and the server anticipated our needs well. Apparently they use imported flour to get a more authentic quality to the dough. The whole restaurant was like a long hallway with little tables, very fun.

Yelp
The recent abysmal failure of an order was a cheese pizza and the bruschetta. The pizza looked like someone cut it up and dragged their knuckles along the cheese to push it up to the crusts the pizza was ice cold too. The bread was stale for the bruschetta. Decisions were made and the order was sent out this way. Clearly, nobody cares in the kitchen. I'm not sure what's happening there but Fiamme went from amazing, to inconsistently good, to just consistently awful- and they raised their prices too. This last order was so bad that I'm done with this place.

Andrew M.

Yelp
Called to place an order at 4pm to be ready at 4:40pm. I got there on time and was told it would only be 5 more minutes, 20 minutes later I asked if it was even in the oven yet and it was not. Poor service and awareness. Never going back! 3 employees just standing upfront twirling their hair and talking about nose rings. Cmon

Yelp
Really happy I decided to randomly try Fiamme today. Boyfriend and I went for lunch and we both ordered the 2 slice special with a drink. It did take bit for the pizza slices to come out but we realized they were making that pizza fresh right there for us. I didn't think that would be the case for just a couple slices of pizza but I will always happily wait for a fresh slice of pizza. The pizza itself was so yummy, love a good wood- fired pizza. Crust was perfect. Pepperonis were delish. The 2 slices of pizza were equivalent to half of a whole pizza and I'm thankful for that because now I have a snack for later. The restaurant itself was nothing fancy but I will pick this over an overpriced pizza place any day. Service was straightforward and we were greeted quickly. Eating out these days is always so expensive and I seem to always be disappointed with the quality of food especially for the price. Well not here! Prices are very fair and reasonable. I will absolutely be back to work my way through the menu.

Yelp
Was at Starbucks all morning with a friend and decided to walk in to grab some pizza to go. However, they had seating available immediately so we decided to stay. They sold both pizza's in whole as well as by the slice and were fairly priced for the portion. The only reason I docked the star is because they didn't ask if we wanted the Parmesan cheese before adding it. Personally, I thought it was delightful but the other one with us was not as pleased. I got the margarita pizza and it was fresh and hot, delicious really and they got cheese. I did try theirs and the cheese wasn't as good as the other but I still liked it. Though I'm not a picky pizza eater. That said, the quality of this Italian style really was amazing, and if you like this style I think you'll be pleased too! As a side note we had great attentive service.

Yelp
Tasty pizza and bread! Love the authentic neopolitan style crust. Ambiance and service when not doing takeout could be improved. Love the Monday special.

Yelp
Absolutely fabulous pizza. We chose to dine in although most of their orders are definitely carry out. The dine in seating is minimal and would not work well if there were a lot of large parties, but our party of four was immediately seated since everyone else was ordering take oOur pizza came out fast and everyone enjoyed it. Toppings were high quality, sauce was tasty. We also got the Nutella dessert pizza and it was an instant favorite.

Charles M.

Yelp
Very good Neapolitan pizza. Highly recommended. A large group of us were out there for work and repeatedly went back there. Wood fire, etc.

Yelp
For years, Fiamme's was our favorite. Yesterday, for Sunday lunch, we picked up three pizzas: Margherita, Grandma, and New York White. A HUGE disappointment. Way TOO SALTY and all three were BURNED on the bottom. Not a little bit, but the entire bottom was burned black. They should have been inspected coming out of the oven and never have been put in the box. We tried to scrape off the burnt bottom crust and salvage our lunch, but they went into the trash. Fool me once, shame on you.... Not going back.

Rob A.

Yelp
Don't waste your money. Soggy right out of the oven. I don't know who gave them certification, but this pizza sucks without joking Peter Piper pizza is better.

Eddie N.

Yelp
Salad was ok not hard to mess that up but the pizza is completely burnt and full of black powder from other burnt pies maybebrick oven needs to be clean

Yelp
The customer service was horrendous , made an online order for a small Bianca pizza, when I got there the pizza hadn't even been started yet,the person in charge asked the pizza maker Brian to start, about 15 minutes later he asked him again and he said he was working on it,but I saw him making other pizzas,he then asked him a third time, after couple of more pies,he finally started my order,it was about 30 minutes total time on the premises waiting for a small pizza, that I ordered online 30 minutes prior,it seemed like the pie maker had some kind of problem with the other workers, which turned out to be poor service for me,obviously this place is poor at customer service.

Yelp
Enjoyed a Monday Margherita Monday ( or marinara personal pizza half off 7.50. It's been a spell very enjoyable crust et al . South end of Safeway /cvs shopping near super cuts , bagel place & Chinese restaurant. Hit the spot reminding me of my summer in suburban Naples ! The people , pizza , wine ,& fireworks memorable like Fiamme Pizza w/o the fireworks! That's been a spell" too!

Heather S.

Yelp
I usually will come in on Fridays, and I always get my pizzas made by a guy in a mask. He wasn't there this time and my pizza came out really burnt. Very disappointing.

Leasa C.

Yelp
The pizza had one blob of mozzarella in the middle and hardly any sauce. Dry and boring. That was the red sauce pizza. The white sauce pizza was also skimpy on the ingredients.

Jordan B.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick lunch and was very happy with the fast service and tasty slices served for a very fair price.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
They have vegan cheese! Surprisingly good pizza. Loved the crust, thin & crunchy, which is a must.

Teresa M.

Yelp
Whoever, sold this pizza to needs to be fired. I will never buy anything from here again. That's not acceptable at all. I really can't believe that but your eyes don't lie here's the picture

Yelp
I suppose all good things come to an end. From 2022-2023, I came here almost weekly. It was pretty busy, lines out the door, tons of pick up orders, and great staff. There was an overhaul in staff in 2023 and the quality dropped significantly. The new staff was less engaged, less friendly, and worst of all... the pizza became inconsistent. I started to taper off going there weekly as a hope that the pizza would return to its legendary status. Eventually I stopped going regularly and went once every two months or so. 2024, sigh... went in at 7pm and Fiamme was empty. All tables open, not a patron sitting. A couple of take out orders were waiting. We ordered our pizza. Initial server was somewhat in a mood. The one staff member from pre-2023 was there and she was great as always. Anyways, back to the pizza, the important part. Its not the same. My pizza was stiff like crackers, very thin, and barely any sauce. The other two pizzas were very inconsistent. One of the margheritas looked normal but had too much sauce, and the other margherita came out oval and the colors were way off. One person came in after us. He ordered a cola and a pizza. He ate half a slice and got the bill. To be fair, not sure if he didn't enjoy the pizza or was just full (he was an older man), but he declined the offer to take a box to have the pizza to go. Im not a business person but I cant see how they will survive if this night was any indicator of the overall performance. I hope they find their bearings and get their consistency back because they were once the best pizza you'd find in a very large radius. Good luck, hope the future people that dine here have a better experience than I did! Cheers, and wish you better futures Fiamme.

Yelp
This is authentic Neapolitan style pizza, don't expect gobs of cheese which is just way too I like it. It's pretty much only place I go for pizza now. So delicious!!!
google avatar

S. Jack C.

Yelp
Prob the best pizza in Tucson. The dough is extra chewy and yummy. Prices are high but the food is amazing. There's 4-5 small tables inside but it's mostly a take out spot. Order ahead, takes about 20-30 min for an order.
google avatar

Yelp
The hubby and I were hungry for pizza and because Fiamme Pizza is close by and after reading the great reviews we decided on takeout. Ordered the half verde & half meat with a Caesar salad I had hoped to share. The verde was excellent however the meat was a little salty and obviously greasy from the meat yet still good after damping the fat left behind.. it's pizza and grease is expected. The Caesar salad.. my husband said as he walked in, I guess you won't be sharing.. .. take out Caesar salad was a small serving nicely spread out in the to go plate beautifully adorned with shredded Parmesan and beautiful croutons. IMO, it was an expensive but delicious salad for the takeout serving. I'm glad I asked for dressing on side as it would have been too much for the small serving. Regardless, it was excellent! Ordering by phone was easy and the person assisting was delightful as we had many questions... The pizza was done in the allotted time & we picked up a piping hot pizza.

Yelp
What a wonderful spot! Had dough balls for my toddlers to play with. Sweet casual ambiance. Very good pizza! This is a winner
google avatar

Lila T.

Yelp
so good! wanted to try a new place because it is so close to home! service was kind and fast small restaurant that does a lot of takeout I assume. We split an arugula salad. It tasted very fresh and yummy. You can tell it's quality ingredients too at a good price. Then we got the 9 inch margarita pizza and the 9 inch pizza verde, with pesto and chicken. We split both pizzas and couldn't decide between the two, they tie. The 9 inch personal size is perfect! light and delicious crust. For sure coming back/ordering pick up in the future The host/server was nice too! You should try!
google avatar

Anne J.

Yelp
I wanted to see what the fuss was about and was craving a crisp crust, so got a slice for lunch. As it should, that slice of pepperoni went into the oven. The middle was still soft but the slice was hot and delicious. This crew clearly prioritizes ingredients- the pepperoni was fabulous, and they had heaps of fresh basil piled in waiting. I'll be back for a full size pizza next time.
google avatar

Kurt P.

Yelp
The good news is Fiamme still has arguably the best pizza in Tucson, even after the pandemic. The bad news is their chairs are perhaps the most uncomfortable in town. We stopped in recently and gorged ourselves on fresh pizza (see photos below). They do a land office business in carry-out which I just don't understand: the crusts have a half-life of maybe 10 minutes, and I would think by the time you got it home it would be a soggy mess, but hey, whatever turns your crank. If you have not dined in here and had a pizza fresh out of their oven you have not lived.
google avatar

Daniel A.

Yelp
Shocked to find this award winning Italian pizza joint hiding in Tucson. Henceforth I will now only refer people to here for pizza. Thin yet chewy crust, fresh ingredients, great flavors not overdone. Perfect for takeout, dine in has very limited seating.
google avatar

daniel f.

Yelp
8.3 pretty good pizza if not the best in Tucson. Worth the try for sure. I only order the margarita tho

Irina L.

Yelp
The pizzas are tasty. The service could be better. A couple months ago I ordered pizzas for take-out that I wanted to be left uncut. The order was acknowledged, but the pizzas were cut when I picked them up. The same thing happened another time, but my expectations were lowered and I did not mention anything. Yesterday I ordered two pizzas online. When I got there, it became clear that half of my order was missed and only one pizza was ready. I pointed out that the first pizza was getting cold while I was waiting for second one to made and baked. Instead of acknowledging my concern, the employee told me to "have a nice day". Ugh.
google avatar

Isabella J.

Yelp
Ive been a customer since the days they were solely a food cart. Since they moved into the brick and mortar store I have found that the over all experience has slowly slipped. A few factors play into my updated rating. The pizza is not consistent. On a recent order the pizza was doughy and undercooked, followed by another visit in which the pizza tasted like it was covered in soot and not in the good charred crust type of way. Lastly, their customer service over the phone is often is unfriendly, and abrupt. For example, the guy we placed our order with hung up on us mid sentence as we were asking if we could be over the phone. The experience feels sloppy and disinterested all at the same time, which is disappointing. Fiamme is generally the better option in the foothills area, but k take pause whenever takeout night leads us there. We usually just make the drive to anello to pick up but on lazy nights where a short drive is more convenient we do fiamme, despite the inconsistency and lackluster service. When they're on point, the margherita is a good choice.
google avatar

Aileen B.

Yelp
Small shop but great pizza and friendly folks. Also you could just get a slice which is great for trying different flavors or if you are not that hungry

Yelp
Best Neapolitan style pizza in Tucson! Had the pizza picante and it absolutely was a hit.

Yelp
We have finally found good pizza in Tucson! After 2 years of trying almost every pizza place out here and all of them being terrible. Fiamme is hands down the best pizza out here. Being from the NJ/NY area we have missed the amazing pizza from back home so much and it's nice to finally find a decent place out here. We ordered on Uber and got the 18 inch plain cheese pizza. When judging a pizza place for the first time you have to go with plain cheese pizza to see if they are a good place or not. We were hesitant to pay the absurdly high price of 28.60 for a plain cheese pizza but we have been on a hunt for decent pizza and decided to give them a chance anyway. So glad we did, because now I know why they get away with charging the ridiculously high price, it is the best pizza we have had in Tucson and even close to as good as back home. The crust was baked perfectly and had good chew and was just right, the sauce was perfect, and the cheese was amazing. Hopefully we didn't just get lucky and caught them on a good night, hopefully they are consistent and will update my review on my second order if it's not. My only complaint is that the pizza arrived cold, but that's not Fiamme's fault the Uber people should be required to have thermal bags for all deliveries, especially pizza but I guess some drivers do not use them. Anyhow best pizza in Tucson so far, but we got a few other spots on our list yet to try as well like Renee's and Falora but compared to the other 20 places we have tried so far over these last two years this place is by far the best. 9.2 out of 10 for Tucson 7.5 out of 10 for back home NJ/NY The top 3 plain cheese pizza spots in Tucson so far: 1. Fiamme 2. Dominick's real Italian 3. Carusos
google avatar

Paul L.

Yelp
I've begun a slow hunt to find great pizza in Tucson. Fiamme has a great oven that can reach the temperatures necessary to meld rich flavors. The cheese is okay but lacks the creaminess that makes a margarita pie great. Fiamme is still worth a visit and I'll be back.

Gomez 3.

Yelp
It was not the worth the price. The food didn't seemed cooked all the way. It was limpy and wet. We picked our order up and the place didn't seemed the cleanest. I've definitely had better.
google avatar

Sunny L.

Yelp
We ordered 4 varieties of 18" pizzas for takeout but we were not very impressed. We put them in the warm oven to serve but it just tasted awful. It tasted mediocre; there were not enough sauce , the green things were not in the right place & the cold pizza ( by the time it arrived) was inedible. What are all these glorious reviews about this mediocre-to-tasteless pizza, I wonder?
google avatar

Doug M.

Yelp
Tried Fiamme for the first time last night and we're REALLY glad we did! The place is small but the flavors are huge! We ordered a Neo-Brooklyn pizza with sausage and ricotta and a Pizza Bianca. They were both outstanding and we will absolutely go back. When we arrived to pick up our pizzas, only one of them was ready - they didn't have the Bianca on our order... BUT, they immediately made it and it was in the oven within 2 minutes of realizing the error. Sometimes shit happens, and this was a 5-star response! One Note - In the future I will ask them to put the fresh basil in the pizza box when I'm ready to leave. They'd put it in the first pizza box when that was ready and then it sat on top of the pizza oven (to keep the pizza warm) which turned some of the basil brown. This doesn't take away from all the raving I'm doing about the restaurant, just a "pro-tip" of sorts if your pizza comes with fresh basil and you aren't there to pick it up immediately when it's ready. We got home and the pizza was delicious. The sausage, in particular, was out of this world with lots of fennel and a little spice. Absolute perfection. My 5-star review reflects the fact that Fiamme Pizza is crushing it. Delicious pizza, fair pricing and incredible customer service. Don't change a thing (except the fresh basil sitting in the pizza box on top of the oven thing)!

Yelp
Really good pizza. Fiamme is only a mile or so from our house and we love this place. Mostly, we will call in an order and pick up the pizza to enjoy at home, as the place is kinda small and always bustling with other customers--as we are not the only people in the foothills of Tucson to know where to get some really-really good pizza. The combination of the small/tight dining area, with the heat of the oven, the numerous hungry customers that seem to always be there, and the fact that the place is west-facing (sun sets in the west) made a recent visit there (during Tucson's cruel summer) kinda hot and uncomfortably warm for me. *But we did eat there during the winter months a while back, and it was quite cozy. The wait staff that has served us when we dined there have always been very cordial and caring and professional. Back to the pizza...The dough is a perfect balance of chewiness and firmness (I would describe it as, "a pizza version of al dente"). The sauce is slightly sweet and has a perfect hint of acidity. It pairs perfectly with the hand tossed dough. The toppings are top of the line and generously and lovingly placed upon these masterfully crafted slices of heaven. The pizzas here are not cheap, but they are memorable and a treat i don't mind splurging a bit for to enjoy.

Yelp
OK we ordered two items: a calzone and a grandma style pizza. Take a look at the below. We opened the box and said "Where's the calzone and the grandma style?" They said the calzone was an 'open faced calzone.' LOL that is just a pizza you idiots! Them the grandma style is just a football shaped pizza. I'm speechless. The incompetency is astounding.

Yelp
Not sure what to make of my experience on a 630 Saturday night call in order. First, the two pizzas that were $22 on the website, turned out to be $26. That's lame. Second, they quoted a 40 minute wait time. I showed up at 35 minutes. The pizzas were ready, and i discovered were cold. They were probably done in 20. Take away pizza is always a gamble.

Yelp
I love them at the Riallito farm market!! Their breakfast pizza is my very favorite. Their bread is amazing. Best crust in town. I've never eaten at the restaurant but hit them up almost every Sunday at their portable brick pizza oven.

Yelp
Firstly, I called in for a very quick to go order as I was in a rush and the guy said they were slammed and it would be 25 minutes. I told him to cancel the order because I was close and I couldn't wait. He then said we'll make it happen in 10. I showed up then, I was hot straight from the oven and delicious. I got 2 pizzas and a salad all great and I really appreciate his ability to make this happen! Great good and customer service.
