Google
Cool local brewery with a pub and a pizza sections, plus a surprisingly diverse merchandising area (from caps to t-shirts to frisbees). They have around 5-6 different local beer types, so don’t expect crazy variations, but they are unique and tasty enough, plus prices are quite OK. The pizza is also tasty and large. The staff was friendly and fast in serving

Google
First stop in Vermont was one of the best ones we got to all week. IPAs in the boot (with matching boot shaped coasters) were on special, 20oz for $5. Located within the same building as Folino Pizza, the pizza was arguably as notable as the beer (with absolutely no offense Fiddlehead). Got a growler filled with the DIPA before heading to the cabin to get settled in. Don't miss this one.

Google
Great atmosphere and yummy pizza. They have $5 dollar 20 oz beers on certain days of the week. They had a big merchandise area. You can also order pizza to enjoy with your beer!

Google
We found this jewel on the way to the Teddy bear factory. They offer a wide verbiage of outstanding pizzas. We also liked the IPA a lot. You can refill the bottles so very environmentally friendly! The gift shop area is cute. We will definitely be back

Google
Amazing, affordable, and great atmosphere. We drove from ADK to Fiddlehead on a brewery tour and absolutely loved it. Staff was super friendly (thanks Jay) and the beers were very reasonably priced. One of the best overall experiences we've had. The pizza restaurant attached was the perfect pairing for the brewery. Highly recommended!

Google
Fiddlehead will always probably be one of my favorite ipas. So fresh at the brewery. The place was cool and the pizza was excellent as well! Can't beat the $5 boots on Thursday. Definitely will be a stop next time.

Google
Tried out Fiddlehead Brewing while waiting for our table at a nearby restaurant. It's super cool how the brewery is attached to what seemed like a very popular pizza spot. The beers we tried were above average, although a larger variety would have been appreciated. The logo is also super cool, love the sticker we got.

Google
This brewery is a staple for a reason! Known for its consistently excellent beers, it’s a go-to spot for locals and visitors alike. Their flagship brews, especially the IPAs, are always a hit, but seasonal offerings keep things exciting. The lively atmosphere, great food, and friendly staff make it a must-visit!

Yelp
I think my favorite brewery we had while in town. Folks recommended a bunch but Fiddlehead stood out. Hear a cold cloudy snowy day, with a return flight home later that day. The Homad porter was my beverage choice.......I have been an IPA guy getting into stouts with occasional porters but dang this porter hit the mark. And let me comment how reasonable it was....10 oz for $3??? Yes sir, give me another. Truly liked the vibe and the beer, so had to buy a t shirt (it's like the only souvenir I care to have these days). Ton from Asheville, hah. Also had lunch from the pizza next door which was amazing, separate review for that.

Yelp
Stopped here on my way home from Burlington and I'm so glad I did! The tasting room is comfortable, and the staff is so welcoming and friendly. I got a pint of Shacksbury - a local cider - which was awesome, and my boyfriend ordered a flight of four beers. The bartender was so helpful and answered all of our questions before making recommendations. They also share the building with a pizza place, which is awesome. You can order at the pizza place and they'll give you a number and bring the food to you in the tasting room. Fiddlehead has lots of their well known beers as well as some specialties. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I opted not to break my keto diet with a pizza but I might have dented it a bit with a delicious beer. I got to Fiddlehead in the early afternoon and it wasn't too busy. No one seemed to mind me setting up a laptop at a table as long as I was drinking so I drank. The Aetherium White Ale was tasty, the family vibe they have going on was cool, and the pizzas certainly looked great. [Review 18495 overall - 94 in Vermont - 2017 of 2022.]

Yelp
I was in town visiting a couple of friends and this was our first stop. They had decent space for parking. Inside they had a nice setup. When you walk in you'll see all of the merchandise that they sell, then you'll see their eating areas and a bar where they had a handful of beer selections. I really liked their white ale. $3 for an 8oz and $5 for a 16oz. The service was great. They were very attentive. They also have a nice outside area with tables and corn holes. They also served pizzas and we ordered a large meatball Parmesan pizza. It was able to feed the 3 of us. We thought it might be too heavy, but it wasn't at all. Perfectly baked and seasoned.

Adam T.

Yelp
Amazing, convenient location and delicious beers! Great service as well. They have a wide variety of beers and pizzas. The atmosphere is casual and friendly.

MarkKim F.

Yelp
Great spot for a beer and something to eat. Travelling from overseas. Found this place. Beer is great and the pizza next door that is delivered to you at your table tops of the experience. How breweries should be. Good beer and food to match.

John O.

Yelp
Stopped in for a drink while in the area. I love Fiddlehead, and was excited to stop by the brewery. The staff were pleasant, the vibe was nice. We didn't end up getting any food at the restaurant attached to the brewery. I did pick up a shirt though!

Christy C.

Yelp
I had a great experience at Fiddlehead Brewing. The beer was amazing and the service was exceptional.

Jenny C.

Yelp
We stopped here after a long warm walk with the dogs up the road in Hinesburg. What a sweet spot. Yummy lime lager and second fiddle ipa. Perfect afternoon stop on a warm day in May.

Lee G.

Yelp
My girl loves their ipa but the pizza they are serving in this place is out of this world good. Great place to stop off in Vermont

Caroline R.

Yelp
The brewery had really great beer. You can order pizza from the place next-door and have it served to you right at your table at the brewery. We went here twice on our trip to Vermont.

Ann E.

Yelp
Quick stop to check out the brewery and have a beer, of course! Their IPA is one that I will always drink as a go-to beer, so I figured I would try something else. The Aetherium White Ale was a the perfect choice for a lighter (5.3 % ABV) for day drinking. Jane had Dave's Benefit Carwash-a nice pale ale. Bartender was friendly. Lots of merch for purchase. Glad we stopped.

Cara M.

Yelp
The staff was amazing at both the brewery and pizza place. The staff was knowledgeable, offered samples, welcomed us, and thanked us for coming when we left. This place has a really positive vibe and I can't wait to go back! The pizza and beer were both delicious!

Jared S.

Yelp
Had the best beer and the best pizza here. Fantastic place for lunch if you are seeing the sights in Shelburne. Highly recommend!

Edward G.

Yelp
Great brewery with great selection of beer, merchandise and friendly staff. Atmosphere is comfortable and unassuming. Folino's pizza is attached snd has great pizza which can be brought into the brewery. Will definitely return on out next visit to Burlington VT.

Jim S.

Yelp
Great Fiddlehead White Ale. Had 2 pints at once, that went down cold & fast. Wish they sold it closer to Waterbury, CT.

Mark F.

Yelp
Tap room is open for half (8oz.) and full (12 or 16oz.) pours or growler fills. You can get a pizza next door and bring it into the tap room waitstaff was very friendly and prompt even with a full tap room. The beer was IPA heavy.

Katy C.

Yelp
After a long drive from Michigan to Vermont, my boyfriend and I stopped at Fiddlehead Brewing to stretch our legs and try some samples before getting in to Burlington. I guess I had forgotten since reading reviews on Yelp, but they don't have a taproom, and they only do samples and growler fills (no pints available). It looked like they were doing some renovations so maybe they'll have a taproom open in the future. When we stopped in, we weren't greeted or asked what we wanted to try. The two guys at the bar were chatting with other guests but I felt a bit ignored. The selection was a little lacking - they only had three beers on and all were IPAs. They were okay but I'm no IPA expert. They seemed balanced but just a little boring. They had some cans for sale and tons of merchandise, including some unique items like frisbees, dog toys, and a neoprene can holder thing with a strap. However, the beers just didn't wow us and the place didn't seem to have that friendly feeling I usually find at breweries. If you're passing through the area and love IPAs and growler fills, maybe check it out. I wouldn't make a special trip, though.

Brian E.

Yelp
Cool brewery with really good beers. Had the IPA, Pilsner, and White. All were really good, but my favorite was the White. Definitely a must stop if you are in the area.

Heidi K.

Yelp
5 beer on tap!! We came from Chicago. We would not recommend other visitors to go out of their way to visit!!! Good beer but really...5 beers and 3 are ipas?

Chris E.

Yelp
Great beer. Their ipas are amazing. Bartenders were great and fast. The retail store was perfect. Being able to get pizza from Folinos is a perfect lunch.

Rob G.

Yelp
Just a review of the tasting "area"- the full tasting room is probably a month or two from completion. We had a few free samples of the Hef- You ( I think the H and E are silent!) , the Fiddlehead IPA and the DIPA "Test" IPA. All very good- the staff was pleasant and knowledgeable- they had Phish music playing- come on now- that rates 5 stars in my book! Will have to come back and check out the completed tasting room!

Casey C.

Yelp
I'm from Texas and came to visit Fiddlehead... it was awesome! I loved everything about it. The beers were delicious and fresh. Definitely the best beer I have ever tried in my life. The customer service gets an A+ ! Any possible question you could have about the brewery and beer in general was answered politely and with enthusiasm. The employees were happy and really seem to love what they are doing! I love that you can really experience the process beer goes through just by stepping through the door. They have a good amount of merchandise available priced very well and the quality is great! After tasting the delicious beers they have to offer, you'll definitely want to get a growler and go eat some pizza from next door! I am a pizza lover and their pizza was delicious! If you're trying to decide on a brewery.... look nowhere else but Fiddlehead!

Adam C.

Yelp
Fiddlehead Brewing is a great spot in Shelburne. The tasting room is spacious and has plenty of bench-style seating. Folino's Pizza is in the same building next door which makes for a great place to eat as well! You can order and eat your pizza within Fiddlehead which is really nice! We had the Hodad, Personal Legend and the Dubuffet. The Hodad was great and the coconut really stood out! The Personal Legend was smooth and refreshing, and the Dubuffet was a nice clean brut. We also got two custom pizzas from Folino's which were amazing! The crust is great either way...charred or blonde! Overall we enjoyed our time here at Fiddlehead and we look forward to our next visit!

Hong L.

Yelp
It has been more than 4 years since we have been able to come and try out the beers at Fiddlehead. They have done some nice updates to the space and expanded so much since we came here years ago. Much bigger merchandise section and huge case fridges for packs of beer you can grab. We put in our order of Mastermind (double ipa), Hodad (chocolate vanilla toasted coconut porter), and an imperial hodad. While we got some other beers from other breweries in VT, I was impressed how good these beers are. The Mastermind goes down so smooth and very refreshing and had none of that bitterness from other types of double ipas I had. Hodad was slightly sweet and a great treat for the end of the night. The Imperial Hodad was, of course, my favorite and came in this cute pint size cans. At first, I was like "I can drink more than this size" but oh boy was I wrong. One can of that and i was good for the rest of the night. Great night cap and treat for our stay in Vermont. Fiddlehead has always had solid beers and so glad we were able to try more of their beers this time around!

Matt C.

Yelp
Downgrade in rating by 01-star due to poor customer service. I emailed the general email address with an inquiry. Twice. No response. Case in point, I emailed Hill Farmstead (a while back) with a beer specific question about one of his special releases. (the email I sent was to the Hill general email address) Shaun Hill himself replied to my email. Back to my original story, I can't even get a reply from Fiddlehead. To be blunt; you're not that important to blow off emails from customers. Official downgrade in yelp rating.

Jackie O.

Yelp
A small brewery for sure but they certainly pack a punch. Not an overwhelming amount of beer to choose from but each beer is highly different. The staff was very friendly and they were willing to answer a bunch of questions and share information about the beer being offered. It appeared that cans of beer were selling quickly so my husband and I snagged a four pack of the Second Fiddle beer which was our favorite from their day's samplings. Crisp and refreshing for sure. Worth a stop--especially if you plan on grabbing some pizza next door anyway!

Doug D.

Yelp
Fiddlehead was recommended by a friend who comes to the Burlington area frequently. Otherwise I might not have gone to it. It's located in the same building as the pizza place. Upon entering I was a little confused. They had somebody directing traffic. Then the pizza place was technically separate from the brewery. Then when I walked into the brewery, there were a lot of people crowding around a small counter. I didn't know what to do because there was nowhere to sit. It turns out that there were no flight available, but they give free samples. So, that bumps up their review by a star because that's very generous. I saw a lot of people would just enjoy their free samples and then decide to buy a case of canned beer. Both of the ones I tried were very fresh and vibrant tasting. I left happy that I came, but I just think that the tasting room could be a little more transparent and enjoyable.

April R.

Yelp
On our visit to Burlington, we had a rainy day, so what better activity to fill our time than a brewery visit?! We were pleasantly surprised to see that we could get free samples! There was only one other group of 3 in the taproom when we arrived, so we didn't have a hard time getting served. We got to sample the 4 beers or so that they had on tap that day, which were all really solid. We had a few others at a local bar as well, and we liked each one. The best part was being able to get a 6 pack to go, RIGHT next door to the awesome BYOB pizza place Folino's right next door! One thing that makes good beer taste even better is PIZZA!

Andy S.

Yelp
Love this place, grab some tasters and a couple growlers then head next door to Folinos!

George C.

Yelp
Terrible service here! Had the worst bartender ever! Our group was staring at the male bartender for a good 3-4 minutes, right in front of him, waiting for help. He felt it wss wsy more important to carry on a personal conversation with his friends across the bar, rather than serve customers. We had our annual VT brewery trip and Fiddlehead/Folinos was always one of the highlights. I was excited because Fiddlehead redid the space to provide seating and has a bigger beer selection. Not only was the service terrible but they had about 8 IPAs on tap and didn't have my Coconut Porter that I look forward to every year. Have a little variety in what you make. This place was a giant let down compared to years past. Folinos pizza is still great but Fiddlehead is off our "must visit" list. You lost your magic.

CJ M.

Yelp
Finally checked Fiddlehead Brewing off our bucket list! Drove up for the night from Boston. Was well worth the 4 hour drive. While our favorite beer is the IPA, we had fun trying "short pours" of some of their other Dipa's (they don't do flights). Staff was very friendly and helpful. The set up they have with the pizza place next door is key. So easy to order on the iPad, they deliver right to your seat, and the pizza was great. Our only wish is that they were closer to us and that they canned their IPA! :)

Ben H L.

Yelp
It was kind of interesting stopping into Fiddlehead on a weekday. We were eating at Folino's next door like most folks and were dying to get a beer. Now this is August 2018 and it was hot and inside the taproom, their AC was out or they never had it. The fans that were around didn't really help but oh well. The building must be old. Our group got a pitcher of the Fiddlehead IPA for our first round and then we got a four pack of the Mastermind double IPA in the green Godzilla type can. The Mastermind was no doubt one of my favorite beers of my trip. It was fruity, bitter, and drinkable all in one fell swoop. It's a shame that they didn't have it on draft. Other than that, they have a small narrow retail space and not much clothing in terms of selection. They also offered other products like bacon and meat in their cold area. Typical draft selection is two and typical cans is one or two depending on varying supply. Mastermind IPA was one of my favorite beers of the trip which makes this an easy no-brainer visit to see if I can get me another pack of four.

Marsha N.

Yelp
It's a little small and not enough customer service systems in place. The immediate vestibule is the only cramped waiting area for a line to form for tasting and growler fills. There's a pizza restaurant immediately to the right once you squeeze past the people in line. We didnt eat there because I think we heard that you have to buy your beer in the growler line. Mastermind was sold out. They only had Fiddlehead IPA and Brett ' s last Straw. They take other growler for fills as long as they are clean and have a government warning.

Joe T.

Yelp
Place is small with only really 2 beers on tap. The day I stopped in they had Fiddlehead IPA and Overstable Double IPA on tap. Both are good beers. I got a taster of each and checked out the souvenirs they have available. Place is their production line so most people stopping in were getting their growlers filled. There is the bar but not much else. I tried both beers and was pretty much done within 20 minutes. No tables or stools. Staff is super friendly. If your the area (visiting Shelburne museum, it is like right across the street), it is worth a quick stop.

Kate H.

Yelp
When we first arrived the tasting room was packed. Line practically to the door. So we decided to go next door, get a slice (or 5) of pizza and head back. When we got back it was much quieter and we got a seat at the bar. Good variety of beers, from sours to IPAs and stouts. Highly recommend stopping here before heading up to Burlington.

Kris W.

Yelp
My friend gushes about his love for Fiddlehead's so we had to stop on our beercation recently. Unfortunately on our trip they only had 2 beers on tap. Their IPA is great & they had another new one too. We were hoping for Mastermind cans but missed them by a day. The guy working the tap room was very friendly & helpful. I ended up getting some dog treats & we split a growler next door but it was a little underwhelming but the quality of the beer makes it worth the trip.

Paul R.

Yelp
Good happy beer pub and adjacent pizza parlor. Beer is ok; way too citrusy for my taste but it's good. The darkest beer, Texas brown ale, isn't especially dark although tasty and fruity. Nice bar to sit at. Nice big easy to read signage listing all 8 beers on tap. I took a mini growler and a pizza back to my hotel.

Joe M.

Yelp
I really enjoy the taproom at Fiddlehead Brewing. They poor each tap offering individually, describe it, and provide a free sample. There are growler fills available for the 3 or 4 beers they are offering. Even better, and an upgrade since my first visit in August, is that they have canned beer now. My timing couldn't have been better, as I had the Second Fiddle Double IPA around Stowe and that was what they had in cans. I grabbed a case to bring back to the neighborhood, and added a second Fiddlehead glass to the collection as well. Friendly, insightful, and not a circus atmosphere like some of the other breweries. Next time I'm there, I hope the timing is right to try to the pizza joint next door!

Spencer L.

Yelp
This brewery gets two stars because they would not allow us to use a high chair at the tables. They are not accomodating if you have young children. They are connected to a pizza place next door that provides high chairs and their employees told us we could tale a high chair into the brewery. However, after we put our child in the high chair, a fiddlehead emoyee came over and told us that they do not allow high chairs. This has actually happened twice now. This doesnt make any sense to me because they allow children in the establishment. Maybe there is a high chair shortage in their attached pizza restaurant and they cant spare them? Maybe they dont like children? Next time maybe ill bring my own travel high chair and see if that is also against the rules. Its too bad because the beer and pizza here is great, but we have had multiple bad experiences here. Also they dont do tasters or flights, whats up with that? Sincerely, Sad dad

Rebecca S.

Yelp
All i can say is yummm - amazing beer and delicious pizza from next doors that they deliver to you as you are lost in the magic of beer drinking. Their apparel is super soft as well. Wouldn't dream of skipping this place next time im in the area.

Benjamin H.

Yelp
Bright, clean, and accessible; just like the beer they brew here. Fiddlehead is a small brewery that is always doing something unique and delicious. The space boasts tasting, merchandise, and a view into the brewing process. The staff is always super friendly and engaging, and the samples of some of the best beer in Vermont are always free. Prices for the growler and half growler fills are super affordable and the deposit for the glass containers is one of the lowest of any brewery I've been too. The tasting room always has their flagship IPA available, and 1-2 other special small batch brews. Check out their social media presence on Facebook and Twitter for updates on the newest keg to be tapped. While Fiddlehead doesn't have any food offerings themselves, Folino's Wood Fired Pizza is located in the same building and offers some great food, plus they are BYOB, so grab a Fiddlehead and enjoy!

Mariko M.

Yelp
One of my favorite Vermont breweries --They offer a stellar flagship IPA and a delightful rotation of special brews. Fiddlehead usually has 3 beers on tap and also just began selling canned versions of their double IPA. The brewery itself is fantastic, offering free samples of what is on tap, a growler fill station, and merchandise. The staff are always extremely friendly, knowledgable and make excellent recommendations and the brewery environment is cozy and inviting. Being a local Vermont business, being green and sustainable is certainly always a priority, Fiddlehead has partnered with a local farm (Otter Creek Heritage Farm just 20 miles off from the brewery) where they take the 'spent' grain (a byproduct of the brewing process) and repurpose it as feed for the pigs. Now, tucked in the corner of the brewery itself, is an Otter Creek Heritage Farm frozen pork section where you can purchase meats raised in this sustainable system. Additionally, Folino's flatbread pizza is just through a door and welcomes folks to bring their growlers from Fiddlehead in for their dining experience (and also offer chilled glasses for just that!) Definitely worth checking the brewery out - and a definite stop if you're doing the Vermont Brewery Tour Passport!

Gabrielle D.

Yelp
The beer is good but the space is small. It's great if you are just dropping by, but not a hangout space. No place to sit and a small standing area. The good part is... The pizza place next door is byob. Taste a Fiddlehead brew, fill a growler, go next door and drink it.

Ashley M.

Yelp
Perfect spot in the community. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. The atmosphere is cozy and parking is a breeze. Great stop on your trip! And pizza right next door? Couldn't ask for anything more :) definitely pay them a visit on your next Vermont excursion.

Ken C.

Yelp
Fiddlehead is the greatest! Nicole, Tucker and Mike are the best. The beer is fantastic and the service is extremely friendly. We always have a great time getting beer before heading to Folino's for pizza. The Fiddlehead Tasting Room is a "must visit" stop in Shelburne. Keep up the great work! Of course, you must get the flagship Fiddlehead IPA. But the Hodad and Brett On The Dance Floor can't be missed, either.

Molly F.

Yelp
I like Fiddlehead and I'm glad they primarily sell cans out of the store. I hate having to try to track down beer at stores that play games with when they release the beer. Mastermind is good but for that price it should come in pints, although since they donate a portion of the profits it seems small to complain. Since I'm recognizing it is small to complain about the price of mastermind I'm hoping it is not small to complain about the price of mastermind. Since they do primarily sell cans out of the store, I'd like to see this process be a lot more efficient. It seems every time I'm in there some small group of people monopolize the service counter/bar with tasting and chatting and eventually ordering. It seems every time this happens, the one bartender/clerk ignores everyone else. There should be a station or section of the bar/counter one can approach when one is ready to order. There is no reason the help can't shoot the shit with customers while they quickly sell cans or shirts or those stupid rubber pill boxes to people who would like to get in and out relatively quickly. I don't want to have to wait for four people to figure out what they want then take painfully long to get rung out one at a time before I'm even acknowledged. In other words, learn to multitask just a little.

Kevin O.

Yelp
Fiddlehead is an awesome local brewery! The beers are excellent and the staff are super friendly as well. The growlers are extremely well priced and go great with some fresh pizza from Folino's next door. The Second Fiddle Double is definitely their best beer on tap - take home a growler when it's available.
