"We’ll bet you didn’t know about the hidden row of outdoor picnic tables in the backyard at Fiddler’s Inn. You might not have even known about Fiddler’s Inn to begin with. Some umbrellas and hanging vines keep the sun from slapping you in the face, and we like that dogs can hang out here, too. Keep them preoccupied with the artichoke dip you dropped on the concrete while you get into some nachos and perfectly fine pub pizza." - Aimee Rizzo

Had a wonderful stay in the Sailor’s Hornpipe Suite. Booked last minute and our room was available same day. The decor is so fun and the room was cozy. Walking distance to a lot of dining options. Voucher for breakfast at the cafe next door was a great treat as well. Super comfortable, great amenities, and clean. Sad we only got to spend one night here!

Google
My favorite spot to stay in Carlsbad, NM. Always the most hospitable cozy place to stay while in Carlsbad for work. There are breakfast vouchers to the coffee house just a short walk down the street. It even has a cute little courtyard and hot tub.

Google
Absolutely amazing! The rooms are stunning and roomy for the price, the check in was super easy, and there’s a bunch of sweet cats on the property. 100% recommend

I had the pleasure of staying at the charming Fiddlers Inn very recently. My stay was unplanned and unexpected, so I was grateful to find a place. The room was so clean and uniquely decorated. Nothing over the top, just simple and neat. The host was so thoughtful with all the little touches and amenities. She was kind and responded quickly to any questions/concerns I had. I highly recommend her Inn to anyone passing through. The room I stayed in was not part of the main building, but was a separate suite with its own driveway, in case that is something that better fits your needs! Happy and safe travels! *Will post pics of some of the thoughtful extras! 🌻

We stayed in Foggy Mountain. We loved the room. One king bed, futon, and a folded bed that we didn't use. Loved the cookies and all the little touches in the room. Great place to stay and definitely recommend. Tried to make friends with the cats too.

Google
Exceptional! Exceeded my expectations thankfully since it was my first time choosing a B&B! The Westphalia room was exactly like it looks on the website… beautifully decorated and very romantic and cozy.Great Location!

Google
Lovely room, nice and responsive management. I found the bed to be too soft, but my wife loved it. Lots of nice touches like cookies. Breakfast was great.

Google
Room was good. Customer service is awful. They overcharged me for my stay. My bank initially declined the charge from them. When this happens all I have to do is authorize the charge (which I did) and then they have to RUN THE CARD AGAIN. But because they’d take hours to respond to my messages the authorizations expired. This process happened multiple times to the point where I called to explain. Over the phone I was told to call back the following day. That SAME day I was met with a threatening message about charging me a late fee and filing a police report. Confusing as I followed their directions! I called about getting the fee refunded after I paid with a different card and they said they’d talk to their business center….which given how small this place is I doubt even exists. Obviously never got that late fee refunded. Felt scammy to me so I would advise you to avoid this place.

Yelp
The pictures do not justice for this room! We were on our 3,000 mile motorcycle journey and I wanted to break away from the typical hotel/ motel chains we had along our journey. I was debating to either pick from the Sailor's Hornpipe room (downstairs unit) or Westphalia. And so glad we went with Westphalia. The four post bed is so comfortable with plush pillows and adding blankets provided in a linen basket. There's additional cushioned chairs as well. Flat screen TV and if you open the armoire, good sized mini fridge, toaster, coffee pot, & microwave. The are resident cats that stroll the property and I would always greet them to give them lovins. The hot tub is a few steps away from the door and there are 2 cotton robes to utilize. Plenty of towels and makeup wash cloths in the bathroom. Stand up shower with excellent water pressure. There are welcome cookies provided in the desert case. Make sure to take advantage of your breakfast coupons to Blue House Bakery! Our stay was intended for a 2 night stay. However, I was in a motorcycle accident on our way back to the room on our last night. After being discharged from the hospital, I text Jennifer by 6am the same day of checkout and notified her of our situation. We did have 2 rooms with our booking. I inquired if the was availability for us to stay and additional night til we figured out how I was going to get back to San Diego and tow my motorcycle back home. Jennifer replied with ample time, and we were able to stay in Westphalia- while our friend transferred from the Whiskey Before Breakfast to Sailor's Hornpipe. You can't beat the location of this property. Half a block away from Albertson's Grocery store (Municipal bust stop located here also). And a block away from Blue House Bakery. I also like that Fiddler's Inn is a block away from the main road. *Do NOT park in the orthodontist parking lot next door! You will be towed!

Yelp
This place was like a dream come true. We found it on hotels.com and couldn't of been more happy and pleased! They thought of everything from candies by your bedside to even a set of ear plugs if you have someone who snores! The decor was awesome. Frilly for my manly man but I absolutely adored it. We enjoyed our stay 100%!

Connor S.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Fiddler's Inn! The Sailor's Hornpipe room was very comfortable, clean and I loved the theme! My communication with Jenn was quick and very helpful, there were cookies waiting for me when I arrived and I haven't slept in as comfortable a bed in a long time. I had read about the stairs leading down to the sleeping area but found them no issue at all! The upper landing area was plenty large to hold my bags so the walk down stayed feeling fun and kinda magical! Breakfast at the nearby Cafe was delicious and it was so nice to have that included. I would love to stay again!

Yelp
Fiddler's Inn - what a great find! We've made three trips to Carlsbad, NM, our favorite destination with literally one thing to offer, the spectacular Carlsbad Cavern National Park. I have a Yelp Collection named "Carlsbad Cuisine" which has the intentionally ironic subtitle "A very short list". It's a sad town actually, not emblematic of what New Mexico has to offer at all. Jewels like Fiddler's Inn are thus amplified. One of the first selling points was the proximity of this charming B&B to the excellent Blue House Bakery & Coffee Shop. I was drawn in by the classic B&B look of the rooms, paired with a hotel sensibility and vouchers provided fro breakfast at the Blue House. Win, win & win! We stayed in the Orange blossom Suite, a Jack & Jill pair of rooms which was partially closed off for us so they could charge us the lower price for s single room. Amenities were reminiscent of a hotel, coffee maker, microwave, TV, etc. The extra touches included some delicious chocolate cookies and mints on each side of the bed. The room and bathroom were both clean. Water pressure was quite low. And the mattress was a little soft for my taste. But nothing major. The grounds include a courtyard with a small stage, benches and tables and string lighting. A hot tub is available, which seemed enticing on the website. But, it was 108 degrees the day were there. And the water did not look fresh. Why would it be with 108 degree weather? Check in and check out were easy. The owner was very responsive to questions. We appreciated the Albertson's Market within walking distance. There are motels at the south end of town that will save you 10-15 minutes drive to the caverns. But for me the extra time is worth it. We will definitely repeat on future visits to the caverns, our favorite day-trip getaway.

Yelp
Perfect bed & breakfast! Stayed here Thanksgiving week as a birthday trip to Carlsbad Caverns for my husband. Surprised when we walked into the Cotton Eyed Jack room and it was decorated down to the coasters as an Outlander themed room! Comfy robes to go to the hot tub in, wine glasses (Albertson's is just across the street to get your locally made wine & beer), cookies and mints. Bathroom was nice with amnenties. Lots of room with a futon and "Outlander period furnishings." Perfect for a getaway. Best accomodations in Carlsbad. Just make sure that they have your correct cell number on file. They will text you the info day of on how to get into your room (code lock).

Yelp
We stayed in 2 rooms for 2 nights there about a month ago. Interesting place...a theme/concept approach for each room. It was generally ok, but the biggest issue we had was that there was no one on the property to assist. They have a big sign on the front door saying that they would be back, but we never saw anyone available. That personal contact is important to us as we were tourists coming through and would have liked to chat about the area, etc. They good at marketing, not good at customer service in my opinion. Can't give them 5 stars for that reason.

Monica S.

Yelp
We enjoyed staying at this quaint little Bed and Breakfast. It was a clean and cozy room with great outdoor space. They supplied everything we needed in the kitchenette for us to enjoy our coffee in the morning to our wine in the evening. The location was easy to find and accessible to everything we needed. The host was quick and responsive to anything we needed. The breakfast from the little coffee shop next door was delicious. It was just lovely!!

Chris A.

Yelp
The Fiddler's Inn is a jewel. The room was quirky, comfortable, and clean. The hot tub was great, too. In a world of faceless corporate hotels, this quaint B&B really is a respite from the humdrum.

Brian B.

Yelp
Cotton Eye Joe - Awesome! So much better than a chain hotel. Amenities were comfortable, nicely decorated, full featured B & B. Coupons for breakfast just down the street. Good size TV, different sources like Netflix, Disney, Roku Xumo, Vudu, etc. Quaint room, made up daily with little treats like mints& cookies. Internet was good, but a private driveway parking off the street was the bonus. My Host Jennifer wax the bestest! Needed to extend my stay for added nights. Could not ask for a better helper. She made everything great! I will be back here when in the area! Thanx!

Mabel S.

Yelp
Giving five stars because it's the best place to stay in town (everything else we saw was a chain motel on a very busy highway). The room was clean and comfy with a good full kitchen. The TV had ESPN so we could watch our team in March Madness, yay! Didn't try the hot tub but it looked ok. However, there's a lot of traffic noise and outside lights, at least in the Foggy Mountain suite. Jenn (host) was very helpful and let us leave a day early without penalty when we had to return home. A good place to stay for visiting Carlsbad caverns but there's not much else to do in town.

Colette Q.

Yelp
Lovely find! Unique room with all of the amenities. Clean, comfortable and unique. Host Jenn had all of the details covered and was friendly and responsive. Walking distance to grocery store, bakery and restaurants. Felt safe. We stayed in Sailor's Hornpipe room which was a beautiful room, restroom and coffee area. FYI: there are stairs. Breakfast at the Blue House was delicious and enjoyable outside seating. Outside sitting area at the inn as well. So much better than a chain! Would stay here again and recommend to friends.

Yelp
We stayed here during a quick trip from San Antonio to Carlsbad Caverns. We were so excited to find this unique family owned Inn. When you are excited about something you tend to critique it in greater detail. This place was all we were hoping it would be. The couple that runs it is super sweet and they make you feel like you're a close friend visiting for a few nights. The way they have it set up you can have as much or as little interaction as you like. The doors have code locks on them and it's so nice not to have to keep up with a key. The voucher they give you for breakfast is for a cute little cafe down the street and it was so nice to have breakfast without being rushed to grab something from a continental breakfast bar. The room! We stayed in the "Sailor's Hornpipe". Oh my gosh it was so cute and cozy. The decorations were so charming. The bed was super comfy with plenty of pillows. They even had a few throws folded up around the room that were super soft. I know that may not be a big deal for some, but it just added to the cozy feel of the room. As did the little faux wood burning stove in the corner. There was also a small coffee pot, small refrigerator and a microwave in the room. Perfect! The bathroom was amazing as well! I loved that it was separated from the room. It's on the ground level and the room is below ground via a small flight of stairs. The shower, amenities, towels and even the toilet were all above expectations. Everything was super clean and you can tell they have an attention to detail. Because the room was below ground you are completely cut off from outside noises. The Inn is close to a street and we didn't hear a sound the entire night. That made for such a restful sleep. The outside of the Inn is disguised as a regular home perfectly set in a quiet neighborhood, but don't be fooled. The rooms are far from regular, yet immediately make you feel at home. Magic! Lastly, the Inn is owned by a Fiddler and each room is named after a favorite fiddle tune. I'm not necessarily a fiddle tune fan but I love the fact that they made it so personal to them and it's a great story to tell. Thanks for everything Fiddler's Inn! You turned a quick road trip into a surprisingly wonderful and relaxing time.

Ronda F.

Yelp
Really sweet spot. Jenn the innkeeper is responsive and check in streamlined. Clean and comfortable room.

Glenn A.

Yelp
Lovely room and lovely house. Handy location. Very comfortable and well appointed. Great large bathroom and generous hospitality spread. Excellent communication couldn't have been easier. Wish my stay could have been longer!

Marc W.

Yelp
This is a very beautiful place and I don't do me a favor to write this as I am planning on going back. When you look at all the hotels in the area that are just buildings and than you come here, this is a green little Oasis in the desert of buildings. The rooms are beautiful and the bathroom is huge. This was the first shower that was higher than I am tall, this was so awesome. They also have a beautiful backyard and while I don't have pictures there are several 360s on Google maps. And best of all they have a hot tub. I mean who would have thought about that at a B&B. Now they don't offer breakfast on site but you get a free one two houses down at a coffee shop. I will post a review of that place later on but we got everything we needed. Oh and before I forget, the manager is very nice and no matter what time you need assistance they are just five minutes away.

Linda F.

Yelp
Hated Carlsbad, loved staying at the Fiddler's Inn. Seriously one of the best B&Bs I've stayed at; the room was well appointed with every single amenity I could need, and more. Also, the bed was sooooo comfy. If for some reason you cannot avoid staying overnight in Carlsbad, stay at the Fiddler's Inn (oh, and check out Carlsbad Caverns, of course).

Alyssa C.

Yelp
This spot was fantastic. So cute. Everything thought of you might need. Spacious, clean, and comfortable. Check in was so easy, get a text message with instructions on where to park and how to get to your room. We got in late and had to leave early. The breakfast cafe was perfect for coffee and pastries. We wish we had stayed here two nights it was so lovely. Or wish we got in earlier to eat dinner at one of the recommended restaurants and had more time to enjoy the evening because the room was quite lovely. The hosts were so nice over the phone and set things up perfectly.

Brittany N.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful stay at this great little BnB. Wonderfully curated rooms with lots of amenities, very cozy, and service is great. It really made our stay delightful.

Martha E.

Yelp
We picked the Fiddler's Inn because of the reviews of king beds, cozy rooms and the picture of the HOT TUB which I needed because of medical reasons. The room (Cotton Eyed Joe) had a VERY comfortable king bed and was done in the tradition of Outlander Series! The room was clean, had a shower no tub, microwave, refrigerator, freezer. The room is isolated from the others, private, has it's own driveway for parking! The hot tub is directly next to the room. However is was very quiet. Unfortunately when I got back from a long day walking at Carlsbad Caverns I found the Hot Tub to be 94 degrees. I called the host who said "I checked the hot tub that morning". However she came to the B&B within minutes and checked it and found it turned OFF stating "I can't help it when people turn it off". She offered me a discount and turned it on. I spent a LONG night AWAKE in pain but was able to get in the hot tub the next morning at 9am when it was 104 degrees before we checked out. Very disappointing event in our trip when you suffer from chronic pain.....a discount does not make up for the disruption is your carefully planned trip. I have had hot tub(s) for the last 30 yrs in my own home. I would suggest to maintain the hot tub (FOR GUESTS) at least a twice a day temp check 8am and 6pm and maintenance of the cover regularly with sun protectant to make a claim that you have HOT TUB availability am/pm!

Zachary B.

Yelp
Stayed in the Foggy Mountain suite. The room was spacious and lively. It had a nice soft bed and huge flatscreen tv. The area was quite and charming with accent lighting in the common area (yard/garden). There was a grill and outside seating and possibly one of the coolest hot tubs ever with cool leds and massaging jets. We did not meet the owners since they were on vacation but we met the innkeeper, Julie, who was friendly. One thing that sets the Fiddler's Inn apart from conventional hotels is that the room is cleaned daily. The cleaning woman made our beds daily and changed the sheets. The included breakfast at the blue house cafe should definitely not be missed as noted in its review. Thank you for such a pleasant stay!

Joshua D.

Yelp
We stayed here one night on our way through town. It it a quiet home on the edge of town. The Whiskey Before Breakfast Room was comfortable and well setup. The shower is great. Breakfast is just a half a block away and good.

Chen C.

Yelp
We stayed at Whiskey Before Breakfast during our honeymoon. The room was so beautiful and immaculately clean, and Julie was such a nice innkeeper. My husband was feeling sick the morning before we checked out, Julie brought us orange juice and even let us check out late in the afternoon so that he could get some rest. It really saved our trip! Thank you so much Julie!

Julie L.

Yelp
This is the dreamiest B&B experience I've had. It's expensive ($190 for the Westphalia room) but not unreasonable for what it is. We entered and were amazed at how large the space was. There was a king-sized bed, robes, and a little lounging area with a 1920s(?) couch. They had breakfast vouchers for Blue House Bakery down the street, a welcome letter, and a guide for the TV channels. What's more is that we got there at 10pm and had asked if we could use the hot tub. It was on when we got there so we slipped into robes. They have towels in a cabinet outdoors as well as bathrooms. The backyard has string lights, mature trees, BBQ, picnic tables, and even a stage. In the morning, squirrels roamed all around. I would definitely stay here again - they pay attention to details.

Mollie G.

Yelp
We loved our stay at Fiddler's Inn B&B. The Foggy Mountain suite was very spacious, clean and charming. The kitchenette was perfect. The chocolate chip cookies waiting for us were a delicious touch. The king bed was incredibly comfortable and had the cutest quilt and pillow shams (I want to know where I can buy a set!). Julie, Tonk and Destinie were wonderful hosts and great with communication--check in and check out was super easy. Breakfast the next day at the Blue House Bakery and Cafe was delicious and charming as well.

Wanda C.

Yelp
My husband and I love B & B's and this one was everything we expected. Thanks for the breakfast 2 doors down.. also one of the best breakfasts we have had while staying at a B&B.

Kathy B.

Yelp
One of the WORST experiences I've ever had. Guest should be notified that there is NO BREAKFAST on Sunday! Stale bagels, instant oatmeal (you do the microwaving), and fruit DO NOT count as a hot breakfast you get at a chain hotel. Highly overpriced! I wish I'd stayed at one of the chain hotels.

Brian M.

Yelp
The best place I've ever stayed at. I came to Carlsbad to see the caverns and decided to stay a couple nights in town. The hotels in town are fairly expensive so I started looking at other options. I came across this place and decided to take a chance on something different. I'm so happy I did! It's like a home away from home. They even have a hot tub! There's an Albertsons a block away as well as an amazing coffee shop that has amazing bacon. :) If you stay here you will leave happy. If you stay at a hotel you will leave feeling like you missed out on something amazing.

Sassy M.

Yelp
Beautiful, clean, comfortable beds. They even have robes for you to use and a little backyard and hot tub. I'm so happy I found this spot for our cross country trip and I got two rooms for the price of one hotel room. Bonus when traveling with kids!

Ali C.

Yelp
Best place to stay in Carlsbad, New Mexico! Julie and Tonk were very nice and accommodating. The place was Perfectly clean, quiet, great place for couples with kids. There is a fenced in lawn area that was great for our kids to have some outside time and get to run around. We will definitely be staying here again!!!

Krysha S.

Yelp
Amazing hosts so professional and accommodating. My parents travel with a small dog they stayed at the foggy mountain we stayed at the cotton eyed joe. It was great for the kids to toss a football as adults sat on one of the many outdoor seating areas enjoying the many doves. Breakfast was great. We will stay no where else if ever back in Carlsbad. Rooms are tastefully decorated and clean.

Patricia W.

Yelp
If you are looking for a comfortable, homey, quiet and unique place to stay in Carlsbad, this is the place! The stay includes a lovely breakfast at a nearby cafe just down the street, as well as a discount coupon to local restaurants. We chose Yellow Brix, a trendy, delicious and romantic restaurant on the list. Julie and Tom are very responsive to your needs. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Keith J.

Yelp
Can they call themselves a bed and breakfast if the breakfast is two doors down and not available on Sunday? Asking for my Sunday morning stomach. The room is amazing and clean.

Ann M.

Yelp
This is a wonderful place! Neat, clean, and in a nice neighborhood. The owners and staff are friendly and very helpful. It's walking distance to a grocery store and a cafe. With a combination lock, we didn't even need to worry about keys. This is "THE" place to say in Carlsbad New Mexico.

Mary H.

Yelp
We had just completed at 22 day road trip and thought it would be fun to grade each hotel and B&B that we'd stayed in. Fiddler's Inn received the only "A" for overall style and comfort, attention to detail, an extremely well appointed room, easy access to running/biking trails, and an "order off the menu" breakfast at a lovely little cafe just a few doors down. Check-in could not have been easier. My husband loved our room (Whiskey Before Breakfast) and he is not easy to please. I was thrilled to have access to an in-room toaster--what a special extra for a quick snack. We had a wonderful stay.

Cristen B.

Yelp
This place doesn't know how to treat the customers. The company that I work for booked this place every week for 5 months up until February. It was a double room with a bathroom in between. Well if you use the towels at all in the bathroom to dry off with or the wash clothes to wash your face with or use to much tissue or but trash in the trash can. You will get called multiple times stating we had ruined the towels and wash clothes by just using them. In the room is a microwave and a small fridge, well during the phone calls we were also told not to eat and or if we do take out the trash. I can go on and on. We put up with it for a little while and when it happen for the 3rd time we stopped our booking for the 5 months. And they are very costly and the rooms were never clean

Karen M.

Yelp
Came across the Fiddler's Inn while planning a weekend trip and their prices are comparable to the major hotel chains here in Carlsbad, with a much more comfortable and relaxing atmosphere than a normal hotel room. The property has 3 rooms; we stayed in Westphalia which has a nice comfortable king sized bed (one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in while traveling) and charming decor. They also have a mini fridge if you have dinner leftovers or want to chill some wine for a romantic evening, and a nice backyard and hot tub. They provide you with a breakfast voucher for the Blue House Cafe & Bakery just up the block which has lots of tasty items. Really enjoyed our stay here and Tonk and Julie are very friendly and helpful- even booked us a dinner reservation at a local spot where there was live music going on. Would definitely stay here again if we return to Carlsbad again!

David C.

Yelp
Very nice place. I highly recommend it. The room is very clean and comfortable. The shower is a bit small, as is the toilet, but they fit the decor and the era of the house.

Dennis K.

Yelp
We stayed at this lovely bed and breakfast in the heart of downtown Carlsbad and loved it! Our two room suite was perfect for us and two young children and was clean, clean and well appointed. The owners are extremely friendly and accommodating. The B&B is close to just about everything including good restaurants, park, etc. The breakfast provided by Blue House restaurant was very yummy! And all this was cheaper than two rooms at the hotels in town.

Cory L.

Yelp
Our family stayed two nights in the Orange Blossom Suite and had a fantastic time! The suite is lovely and ideally suited for a family. You enter into the larger room with sitting area and king-sized bed. After passing through the bathroom, you come to the second bedroom with a queen-sized bed. This works great for parents/kids. Everything was clean and stylish. Tonk and Julie were also very friendly and accommodating. Each night's stay comes with vouchers at the highly-rated coffee house/bakery that is just doors away, and the food there was great as well. A final FYI, Fiddler's Inn is just a few blocks from a great park on the river. It has a "beach" with swimming, playground, bridge to cross the river, etc. It was great for running. All in all, we had a delightful stay and would definitely visit again!
