The restaurant is lovely, with a great ambience and delicious food. We shared everything, and the portions were just right. The service was fantastic too, and I’d love to visit again.

What a gem of a place! A bit hard to find, but the treasure hunt is worth it: a cosy (20 or so seats) and low-lit (perfect for dates) open kitchen space awaits, welcoming you with some banging tunes (shoutout to that playlist curation) and the loveliest staff. Quite empty on a Wednesday night, which I can only hope will change as time passes, it’d be a shame for people not to have it on their radar! Delicious food end to end, so I’ll only highlight my favourites: that divine straciatella with (I think) caramelised walnuts; the mushrooms with egg yolk, the perfect autumn dish; the fallow deer with carrots which made me wipe the plate clean; and the unexpected star of the evening, namely the Marrowmel (white chocolate ganache and caramelised bone marrow, or something of the sort, complete wizardry). Lots of wine options to choose from, too. All in all, a wonderful meal and evening. Thank you! P.S. Paid £113 for 2 people with a 50% soft launch offer, but we did get 2 drinks each and plenty of snacks. P.P.S. Stay at the counter if you can — it was great having a sneak peek!

Went to dinner on opening night - so taking into account that their menu may change and grow as they develop, it was just overall disappointing. We had high hopes given the chef and restaurant’s ambition, but were let down. The food portions were comedically small and overpriced, and while the cauliflower puree was delicious, the salsify (fair enough, difficult vegetable), was super bland, the focaccia disappointing, and overall just left a lot to the imagination. The scallop (at £20) was a singular scallop barely fit to be an appetizer, the onglet steak was good but a bit too rich. Giving it 3 stars as the food wasn’t bad, just not impressive and it’s opening night so hopefully they’ll only get better from here. Otherwise the ambiance and service was great, excellent wine selection as well.

Ivan and the team hit all the right “notes” yet again! We’ve followed Ivan for many years and been to almost all of his restaurants and he never fails to deliver. Field Notes is yet another example of his passion for farm to table dining, bold unique flavours which make every mouthful delicious all wrapped up in a cozy and intimate atmosphere. You don’t have to come and have the whole menu, even if all you did was pop in, had a couple of dishes and left - it would be well worth the visit. Congrats again Ivan and the team, opening week. Looking forward to coming back and seeing it go from strength to strength.

So good! Would give 6/5 stars if possible. Insane food for very fair price, and I like the interior. The artichokes are a must try if available that day.

Last night we had a really lovely meal here. The food quality was amazing. Lovely flavours and a nice variety to choose from. The floor staff are lovely and the chef came over when we had a question about the smoked carrot puree. Oh and very nice Barolo wine on Special. Somewhere to hang coats as it’s coming into winter please 🙏🤣 but seriously a big fat 10/10 👊👍💪👏👏
