"How did it strike you on arrival?Hipster hostel with a sporty streak, modeled on old Chicago Park District fieldhouses that emphasizes community through communal public space, as well as shared bunk-bedded rooms. Lots of wow-factor installations, like the wooden tennis racquets bound together and floating over the lobby, and a second-floor sports gallery wall with vintage equipment. What’s the crowd like?Budget travelers with a design streak and families with a sense of daring. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. There's a nice selection of private rooms and shared quarters pitched to solo travelers as well as groups, including families. The basic private room has everything you need and just enough space to fit it. Wood floors and flat-screen TVs keep things streamlined and tidy. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?Platform bed is comfortable. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that worth mentioning?Nice vintage touches with a sports theme, like retro football team pennants, wall-mounted dart boards, and the kinds of cage-enclosed clocks you see in old gyms. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down.Spacious and bright bathroom, with a black-and-white color scheme, and a generous glassed-in, walk-in shower. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Free Wifi and strong. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.Mostly, you'll want to hang in the lobby filled with vintage décor—trophy racks, salvaged brass lamps, old-fashioned scoreboards—in keeping with the fieldhouse theme. Dropshot Coffee & Snack Bar provides fuel in the way of Toby's Estate coffee, and seasonal dishes with a healthy streak. The basement speakeasy and a slew of games, including air hockey and a slot-car track, make for a fun evening. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay? The retro sports vibe make this a fun place to be. Bottom line: worth it, and why?Great value in a convenient locale with cheeky style."
"Owned by Bedderman Lodging, formerly Urban Holiday Management. Inside FieldHouse’s coffeeshop, customers can find a burger reminiscent of those served by Sarah Jordan in Logan Square and Revival Food Hall." - Ashok Selvam
