Delicious every time, generous portions, well priced, and fresh! Fast casual spot with seating for a dozen indoors plus 8 outdoors. Black owned, family owned. I’ve had chicken, fish, herbed rice and jollof rice, greens and mixed veggies, yucca chips, and my boyfriend and I both love the pineapple ginger drink! I’ve eaten rice bowls on MealPal at lunch and ordered outside of MealPal too. When I’m with my boyfriend we’ll order a bowl and an extra side of protein and it’s the perfect size for us to share.

My only problem with this place, is the food is way too good for the concept. Every time I’ve had it, I’ve wanted to sit and luxuriate over the depth of flavors in a proper restaurant. I see the value in bringing such rich flavors to the quick serve environment, but also wonder if the creator is doing himself a disservice by operating in such a format. For those looking what to order: I suggest the shrimp bowl. The curry is to die for!

Took the little one on a Mommy and me date. Glad I did. The food is hearty but doesn't leave you feeling guilty. I had the fried chicken bowl and even with the bbq sauce I enjoyed my meal. Also had the crab bites but wasn't a fan of the sauce that came with it on the side. I have also tried the salmon bowl, pretty good as well. Looking forward to trying the other items on their menu.

It is hard to find a good balance where healthy food could also be tasty! FieldTrip has done it! My salmon bowl was packed with tons of goodness that was so delicious, even as a next-day meal. Just know this is a fast-casual dining place where customer service isn't the focal point.

This place has obvious priorities: food first. Among the best fast casuals that are around, with a more international palate than say, dig inn. But could really, really be better run if they had two people front of house - having one person dealing with walk ins and to go orders while assembling every bowl is not realistic. It also makes the restaurant seem unfriendly. I was the only person waiting to order, and it took a while before i was even noticed. Idk it’s just awkward. Maybe bring a cook to front of house for lunch rush?

Delicious food every time! Great proportion of greens to protein and rice! The spices are spot on and everyone in my family loves it. I usually pick up a few options and everyone gets to try something new as a combo.

I've been wanting to come here for awhile a d it didn't disappoint! Had the shrimp bowl and it was excellent, don't change a thing, flavors and portion were perfect and on point. Got to sample the fried chicken and braised chicken bowls that friends ordered and all bowls were nicely packed portions and flavorful meals. I really wanted the Jerk meatball bowl but they're not serving it at the moment but it looked delishoous. Visited the Mornigside campus by Columbia University, if your in the neighborhood stop by and check them out, you won't be disappointed 👍🏼.

came to FieldTrip via a promotion. it’s a casual food option located near Columbia University serving up a Caribbean-Asian-American influenced menu made of a variety of rice bowl options, salads, and more. superclean modern brightly-lit interior with a some seating. ordered a roasted chicken rice bowl—seasoned roasted chicken chunks, wok-sautéed vegetables, avocado cilantro sauce, and pickled red onions on top of a heap of jollof rice. really enjoyed how the different flavors of the chicken, vegetables, and rice came together for a enjoyable savory meal. and the pickled onions is a nice touch to add some acidity to cut through the rich flavors for a palate refresh. the friendly service was smooth in terms of taking my order and packing it up neatly to go. definitely would eat here again for a filling healthy-feeling meal.

I've been looking for a good to-go food spot around Columbia's campus for a while. I think I've found it. I tried the braised chicken bowl and the passionfruit lemonade and they were both very very good. The braised chicken bowl's highlight was the guac and the jollof inspired rice. I enjoyed how everything mixed together. The portion isn't massive for $13 but I prefer the quality over quantity. I will be going back. The lemonade was very good, not too sour and not too sweet. You aren't going here for an excellent dining experience. I think the restaurant seems like a grab and go vibe. The staff were helpful and made my order very quickly. I will definitely be coming back.

Food is great, just as at Harlem location. Service is quick. Space is smaller than Harlem location yet tables & bar area are available for sitting to dine. Space is clean also. No bathroom available though. There is self order tablets also available. Food is fresh, healthy and delicious!

I genuinely enjoyed this bowl! it was very packed with so much protein, which I find most bowl places can skimp on. chicken itself wasn't that flavorful, but very moist and chewy. wasn't a big fan of the veggies that come with it, but the avocado cilantro sauce paired very well with the bowl. would recommend this place for a change from the typical chipotle or cava rotation. store itself is pretty small but they have a lot of outdoor seating. *invited through yelp elite

I absolutely LOVED my experience at FieldTrip. From the moment I walked in, the staff was extremely kind, accommodating, and welcoming. They're very helpful with food allergies and my food was ready in a matter of minutes. I immediately noticed how clean the restaurant was and there was some seating available when I arrived. My grilled chicken bowl was INCREDIBLE. It was so flavorful and all of the ingredients complimented each other so well. Everything was seasoned to perfection and it was the most tender rice I've ever had in my entire life. It's very clear that Fieldtrip cares about the quality of their food and sourcing of their ingredients. I got my bowl to go, but can't wait to go back and buy the chefs book. I've never been so excited about Rice and will absolutely return as often as possible! Thanks to Katey for putting together such an awesome event!

I got the roasted chicken bowl and the chicken and dressing were both delicious! The rest of the bowl was disappointing- there was too much rice and the portions of pickled onion and greens didn't seem adequate at all and did not match the advertised pictures. Service was ok, and their timings online do match their actual hours- I was told most days they close at 8pm when the advertised times are 9/10pm. *Invited through Yelp elite

Loved my experience here for a quick lunch! I got the salmon bowl with piri piri sauce and it tasted delicious. I was surprised it came out so fast and the salmon was a big piece. If I'm in the neighborhood, I will definitely be making another stop here!

Thank you FieldTrip and Yelp for an AMAZING meal. I have been to the first location in Harlem, and love the concept of rice bowls. Each bowl is packed with rice, meat and vegetables. It's a simple yet, FieldTrip delivers a unique take in a variety of dishes. When I was invited for a delicious meal, I was so happy to try their second location. I ordered the braised beef rice bowls and it was full of flavors. What stood out the most was the fresh ingredients, from the greens to slow cooked Angus beef. The portions of meat was not scant and was plenty for my meal. The restaurant is for casual dining, such as lunch break during work. The rice bowls are a go to for top notch ingredients that are decently priced and the service quick.

FieldTrip was a pretty nice spot to stop by and try. Internally, it's quite minimalistic, where you just order, pick up the food and go on your way. For some places, I do like this layout, this one included. They have a good variety of rice bowls, healthy options with further variety in their toppings and accoutrements. The flavor packed in the bowls is pretty good, but could perhaps use a bit of work as their main dishes. My order-the Braised Beef bowl-was fairly good flavor-wise; others that we ordered to try out, however, felt somewhat lacking. The sides are relatively hit or miss: the plantains and crab pockets were pretty good, whereas Nana's bread was also somewhat lacking in flavor, even taking the included carrot ginger dip into account. It's a fairly good place with some dishes standing out more than others-for those, I'd definitely recommend it.

Salmon was flavorful, flaky and moist. Huge fan of the pairing with pineapple and black rice, brussel and broccolini. They didn't open til 11 and only had shrimp and salmon ready, so you may experience a wait if you're here around their supposed 10:30am start time.

Fast and delicious falafel salad! Highly recommend. Not much seating indoors. Pricing is very fair as well! Fast service for sure and nice drinks

Fieldtrip is a top 3 fast casual spot in NYC and I would be here all the time if they opened a location downtown and not in the Rock Center basement. Get the amazing Brisket or Fried Chicken Bowl especially, or the great new Falafel Bowl. At this location, get the new Mango Passionfruit Rice Cream to finish for the perfect lunch.

One of the better fast food options near Columbia. Food portion is decent, and the bowls are flavorful, with tons of texture. Particularly love the amount of cooked vegetable in the bowl. $2 student discount is only available if ordered in person. Service is fast and courteous.

I was offered a Yelp deal to get a bowl and a beverage. I drove all the way from the Bronx 30 minutes and found the place was closed during business hours. The employee had an attitude when I kept knocking on the doorand didn't reach out to the owner to do anything to make it right. If you say you're going to be available at a certain time you should be there unless there's an emergency and then do something to make it right. Big disappointment

Fieldtrip is in a very ideal location for those attending Columbia or just visiting! They have unique combinations with their rice and meats and offer healthy beverages as well. The sweet plantains were a great way to end the meal, although I wish the portion was a little bigger for the price. The service was pretty fast and there was plenty of seating in the store

Roasted chicken bowl is pretty good. Rice is seasoned really well and the bowl has a perfect mix of meat rice and veggies. Will definitely come back to try a different bowl when I'm in the area.

Iam a fan of the owner so I had to check this place I had the salmon bowl veggies and salmon was good, black rice is new to me but not my choice otherwise the food was good :)

Perfect rice bowl takeout spot to pop up near Columbia University! The price is right ($12-15), location is great (right on an ever-growing food strip on Broadway), and service is fast. Recommend for the student in a hurry.

Super inconsistent. Even when there's a couple orders the food takes pretty long considering everything is there. Ordered the chicken bowl with extra beef and I got everything but the chicken... $21 for that too. Food is good but everything else is variable.

Definitely a step above other fast-casual/made-to-order bowl places despite being similar in price. Very quick too! Glad to have a great new option in the neighborhood.

I was so excited when Fieldtrip Morningside finally opened up, I heard great things about it. I've tried both the fried chicken rice bowl and the roast chicken rice bowl here, they both were delicious. I love the concept of different types of rice, a simple staple used in so many cultures. Everything was well seasoned and fresh. The staff members were very friendly and happily answered any questions I had about customizing a bowl. I grabbed it to go, but there was available seating inside, which was nice. One of my fave new lunch spots at work, you won't be disappointed.

Ordered the Jerk Meatballs and got so sick, do not recommend this place at all. Probably was served old food, but either way would never eat here again.

It was delicious. I had the tofu bowl and my son had the sandwich. Both were delicious. Close to Columbia and the subway line. A little pricey, which is why the 4 stars.

Place was clean and servers timely and prepared bowls well. But the food itself was terrible. I got the fried chicken bowl and spouse got the crispy fish bowl. Hers was ok. Mine - I ordered extra protein and got 8 pieces of overcooked dry I think chicken. Also the BBQ sauce on mine was way too much. It was just a bad choice. The wok veggies were a bunch of sautéed greens and a few peas. Not what I would call wok type veggies. It was pretty bad. I would not go back. Not sure what the hype is on these places. I'm not seeing it.

Best meal I've eaten in months, maybe years. I got the crispy fish and subbed in jollof rice. It was incredible. Perfect balance of flavors, great ratios of macros, super-fresh ingredients. I'm legitimately in love.

Went to Fieldtrip yesterday for lunch and was beyond impressed. Their rice bowls are very enticing, and mostly they're plain DELICIOUS. The quality of ingredients is very high, and the fast was unreal. I had the braised beef bowl and it was so good! Also had a glass of strawberry lemonade which was very tasty. Ordering is so easy: walk up to the self-serve kiosk, place your order, and food is ready in minutes. Everyone was friendly and kind, and there's space to eat inside as well as an outdoor eating area. Will definitely be back!!!
