"Though this family-run restaurant in Pleasanton is named after Shanghai, the menu also heavily features the signature spicy dishes of southwest China’s Sichuan Province. In one meal, you can get a taste of the contrasting flavors of these two regions: try mapo tofu for the mouth-numbing spices of Sichuan, and braised pork belly in brown sauce for a lighter, mildly sweet taste of the greater Shanghai region. This place also makes a great squirrel fish using tilapia, and topping it with shrimp for a little something extra." - Megan Zhang

Fierry Shanghai is a gem for authentic Shanghai food! The Braided Minced Eel is a must-try, full of rich flavors that really hit the spot. 🐟👌 The Ma Lan Tou is so fresh and earthy, adding a nice balance to your meal. 🌱 And those fried stuffed dumplings? Crispy on the outside, packed with savory goodness on the inside—absolutely delicious. 🥟😋

Google
The best Shanghai food in Bay Area for my personal taste. All of my orders were great. The indoor decorations are cozy. The environment is clean. A really good place to have food before/after you go to the outlets.

Ordered takeout and was very disappointed. The spicy fiery chicken pieces, pictured below, were on average smaller than sugar cubes. About 3/4th of the time, there was no chicken and only breading.

Very good food. service, and ambiance overall. Good COVID safety precautions with well-spaced out tables and some outdoor dining. The Shanghai dumplings and dumplings in chili oil were huge and delicious. The noodle dishes were plentiful with fresh perfectly cooked noodles. Perfect place to stop after outlet shopping or fruit picking in Brentwood. Will definitely return to try more dishes.

So good highly recommend (from someone coming from Southern China)!! Was scared in the beginning when I see the restaurant offer both Shanghainese food and Sichuan food (2 very different cuisines), but the Shanghainese choices are good and authentic! My favorites are: Pork with honey sauce: sweet in the Shanghai style! Eat with buns Crab ricecake: it was a special for the day, a little pricey but definitely cooked with live crab. Service was good, seems like they also do events like birthday parties. Great place to eat after a shopping day at the outlets.

We got to the restaurant around 1:30pm. We got seated after 5 minutes. It was ok on a busy day. But it took almost 20 mints before we can order anything. Half way through the meal, no water or tea was served. The tastes of the dishes were not good at all. Either too salty or too sweet. At the end of the meal, there was a 22% MANDATORY SERVICE CHARGE for a party of 5! Please go somewhere else with better service and more smiles!

Google
Stars ONLY for the food amount and quality! From the times saving to visit this place on the occasion we’ve chosen mid autumn festival and unfortunately got disappointed that almost walked out of the table without getting the order. Came for celebration dinner around 7:00PM and got in line for the table. Got seated around 7:40 PM and made an order. The place was almost full with people coming and going. Drinks arrived with the lipstick on the glass. Eric, host, I apologize for the delay stating that there are lots of online orders and them having only one chef on the floor. At around 8:15 PM we have started asking for the food status when the place was more then half empty. At 8:30 PM, when we were about to walk out of the place with being a bit frustrated, chef and we assume manager started bringing the food out. Meanwhile about 3-4 servers were peacefully chatting behind the bar in front of us. Food wise, the place really worth every single bite of it. Light and flavored boiled fish can feed 2-3 guests. Boiled beef would definitely need some side, cause the soup is sooo rich that you would not want to waste it. And in case you want to go late, just go with Shepherd‘s purse. Either one of these dishes can serve at least 2 guests. Inside seating is kind of odd due to the pandemic, however relatively authentic. Really did enjoy the outside fire pit. With that being said will definitely be back and hopefully will increase the rating to the deserved stars once service improves

Yelp
Everything was so good. We had the XLB, fried noodles, and green beans. Contrary to the restaurant name, these items were not spicy. The restaurant was decorated elegantly. There's a private corner for a large party.

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place for a long time. Wifey and I met up a friend who started working in Pleasanton for a Tuesday night dinner. Got distracted and forgot to take photos of the food haha. noOb mistake. We ended up ordering the boiled fish with bean sprouts in hot chili oil, Shanghai-style deep-fried noodles, and cumin beef. The boiled fish was really good but lacked the numbing spiciness I was expecting. The Shanghai-style deep-fried noodles were okay. Think deep-fried chow mein noodles but with the texture of funnel cake topped with corn starchy toppings that made the noodles soggy. Meh. Lastly was the cumin beef. I liked this dish the most. Strongly seasoned beef with onions and peppers. Despite being a slow Tuesday with only two other tables, service was another miss. I had to ask for rice several times. But what really upset me was that I had to ask for ice water at least 5 times. I mean, when you name a restaurant Fiery Shanghai, the customers would liked to have some water to cool down the "fire". Speaking of fires, maybe the workers were trained by the City of Los Angeles because they acted like there was no water. I literally had to walk to the register and ask for ice water. At the end of the day the food was okay. Fiery Shanghai. Not as "hot" as I thought. * What's with the strange ass interior decoration that makes each table look like a bed frame? When I was paying, I had this hilarious interaction. Worker: Where you from? Me: Livermore Worker: Where you born? Me: Glendale. Oh... I'm Korean lol. Bye.

Yelp
We went on Christmas evening; it was busy, but we got seated quickly. The waiters were very friendly, and even when the service was slow since the restaurant was packed, they apologized for it. The food was on point; whatever we ordered tasted great, and the portions were sufficient for two. The ambiance was good, unlike other Chinese restaurants we have seen in Pleasanton. This is our second favorite after Andy & Yu. The management is very friendly--special mention of that. We will surely visit again to try other dishes when it's less crowded.

Yelp
Each dish complemented the others beautifully. The Kung Pao chicken was the star of the meal, while the Special Shanghai fried noodles were warm and comforting--perfect for the cold weather. The Shanghai wonton soup was delightful, and the red bean pancake dessert had the ideal balance of crispiness and sweetness. The pan-fried soup dumplings were a standout, featuring perfectly juicy filling and crispy bottoms. Overall, the service was pleasant, and the restaurant's well-designed booths added to the experience!

Yelp
3.5, rounded up. Getting right into food! Scallion Noodles: 2/5, lacked any flavor unfortunately, texture was good but just oily and salty. Added vinegar to finish. XLB: 4/5, big, lots of soup, good skin texture! Pretty solid with their vinegar. Scallion Pancake: 3.5/5, skeptical at first because it looked small but this was quite flavorful without any sauce. Thicker than expected. Peking Duck two ways: 3/5, the duck is cut right in front of you which was nice. Portions were generous, but the duck itself was okay with the green onion/cucumber/pancake wrap (instead of buns!). The soup had great flavor, but was wayyy too salty. The duck itself is okay. Sweet and sour spare ribs: 4/5, standard, good flavor and tender! Green beans: 4/5, loved the garlic and the spices but some of the beans were pretty limp. Lacked the crunch factor :( Fish with brown sauce: 3.5/5, not a cooked fish girl myself, but was decent according to my table! Tasted homemade and soft, however was not the freshest fish. Service was alright. They gave us the pancakes for the peking duck way ahead of time so they got cold, and we had to request a new plate of them which they accommodated for. We also had to wait at the front for a bit even though there were tables open. Kind of pricey, but food was decent. Would come back to try their lunch specials.

Yelp
Really unique interior with a garden-like feel highlighted by mint greens, metal pergolas over many tables, natural light from the large windows. A waitress actually came outside to hawk the restaurant while we were looking at the outside pedestaled menu. She did a really good job in convincing us to come in! Sat down around 2:40pm Midweek after the normal lunch period, lunch special menu over; however the accommodating restaurant allowed us to order off the lunch menu, additionally we were able to order warm soy milk which came in large bowls. We had: - Shanghai Dumplings, 6 to a steamer, did not bust, lots of soup in the dumplings, tasty and steaming hot - Pan Fried Pork Dumplings, hot, crispy bottom, sufficient meat and juicy - Lunch Special of Eggplant with Rice, Veggies, and Tomato based Soup - Warm Soy Milk Decent lunch at reasonable prices. They have a whole Peking Duck prepared two ways for $88 if you're interested.

Yelp
We came right at 11am when they opened with my doggie. We went to the patio and they were so kind to her, gave her water, made her feel welcome, made us feel welcome. We ordered all veg, scallion pancake was crunchy and really delicious, thicker than the typical, more flaky then the typical. Not typical! In fact, special. And the rice cakes (chow neen goh) were super delicious as well, everything you hope it to be (soft, flavorful, chewy). This place is solid.

Yelp
My husband and I met my son and daughter in-law for a late lunch at this place. They brought their dog. Since this place had outside seating it's perfect for a dog. I told the hostess that we need a table outside because we have a dog and she said it's ok we can dine inside, no problem. Once my son's dog barked the staff said we will need to dine outside, so we moved but the outside was not prepared for guests, it was dirty so the staff cleaned a little bit where it is decent to be outside. They were not happy I can tell. Since we already ordered some food we stayed. Otherwise we would have left. We enjoyed the food. My low rating goes to the staff and the cleanliness of the place. Also it took awhile before we got our food and one of the dish never came so I cancelled it. And because we were seated outside, no one came to check on how we were doing or if we need more tea or water. A waitress was rude and not friendly and gave us a snotty look. The look was very unprofessional and did not belong where you greet customers. Also it took awhile before we got our "to go" boxes. Unfortunately, this is my first and last visit at this place!

Yelp
Came by here after outlet shopping! We got the $88 for two duck dishes. We had the crispy roasted duck and made the second dish to salt and pepper! We got to watch the chef live performance in front of us to cut the duck into small pieces and we roll them up with the Chinese tortillas giving to us! They were both yummy! The boiling fish was extremely yummy too! We love spicy so we got the 3x spice level! The pork stomach and chicken soup were very flavorful! We will go back again to try other dishes!

Yelp
The only reason we visit this place is Peking duck. I wouldn't say it's the best, but it's not bad given there are not many options in the Tri-Valley. Service is getting worse and worse. It took 25 mins before the duck was served even though we pre-ordered it and gave them our ETA. Ordered extra pancake, it was not served until we asked for it. And it got charged twice on the receipt. I didn't realize that until after we paid. Because I was chatting with my husband if the price went up since we pretty much order the same thing every time, then we realized we were over charged. Flagged this to the server, got the after-tax price back without the tips we paid on top on it. It's not about the money, but attitude. Also, be careful, their tips are calculated after tax...

Yelp
we cane here prior shopping @ SF outlet which is approximately 3 mins drive, ambiance is really cool, decor is decent in Tiffany blue color,we got seated right away ,friendly and attentive staff, food is delicious and generous in amount which is good for sharing.

Yelp
They carve Peking duck table side and serve it two different ways. Only wished they serve it with boa instead of wrap. We had eight dishes and every single dish was scrumptious from the thousand chili fish, Mongolian beef, chili wanton, to curry chicken. Even the simple Napa cabbage had a surprising deep flavor to it. Service was good considering it was Chinese New Year weekend. The place is pretty inside.

Yelp
Great environment and service!! We had an awesome waitress Freya, her service was excellent and professional! Very enthusiastic about her job and gave great food recommendations!

Yelp
Solid spot for Shanghainese food. Which seems to be reflected in its popularity - even at 2pm on a Saturday the restaurant was fully packed. The menu here is crazy extensive and has a lot of less commonly found Jiangsu dishes. We got: Kao fu (braised gluten with brown sauce) was really good, true sauce flavor was really imbued in everything and the gluten was soft. Jiao bai Jiao bai (shredded pork fried with wild rice shoot) was not bad considering it used frozen wild rice shoot (they warned us about it in case we wanted to switch dishes), but fresh jiao bai is just so much better. Would probably opt for a different veggie next time. Braised minced eel had good flavor although was a tad too oily for me (though most renditions of this dish have this problem). Yangzhou pork meatball was okay but I found it a bit bland. Shepherd's purse tofu soup and fried rice cake with shepherds purse + shredded pork were both pretty standard but solid renditions. Even with all this it feels like we barely scratched the surface of what this restaurant has to offer - I want to come back and try all the other dishes we didn't have room for!

Yelp
Six of us came here for a group lunch. The restaurant was decorated with Halloween theme skeletons, Chuky poster, red pal print on the restroom door all made the ambiance fun! I rarely see a Chinese restaurant would decorate seasonally. The dishes were authentic and flavorful. It is Shanghainese and southern style cuisine. It has been a friend's go-to place kitchen during Covid, and they managed to survive. So that indicates to me their food must be good to survive a tough time during shelter in place. Their service was attentive and courteous. I give 4 stars due to the value. It was about $60 per person, a bit higher than anticipated. We ordered much more than we could eat. Dan Dan noodle was a larger bowl which the server could suggest fewer quantities when we ordered 3. We ended up packing 2 orders to go.

Rong B.

Yelp
The service is pretty good.Food is decent. Will come back for sure. We really like the roasted duck

Yelp
Came to write a review and totally didn't realize that I had been here before two years ago lol. Updating it now that I've had the full dine-in experience! We visited Fiery Shanghai with a large group of about 50 people for a banquet-style meal. The staff here were all quick on their feet and on my side, I left happily content and full :-) Not only that, but they also served a complimentary tapioca dessert at the end of our meal! Some highlights: + Beef and broccoli: Meat was super tender! I loved the marinade on the meats and how the broccoli was cooked through well. + Orange chicken: Thought it was a tad bit strange that the chicken was almost a neon orange, but I did appreciate how the chicken was cut because it was easy to bite into + Pan fried dumplings: Beeeware of the hot soup inside! Definitely preferred to eat this without the vinegar sauce they provided. The meat inside was moist and the broth was also flavorful. If you have a HUGE party like we did, I'd definitely recommend visiting Fiery Shanghai! I like how they're also in Pacific Pearl, because you could also roam around at the neighboring businesses to grab a quick dessert or boba.

Tony J.

Yelp
Really tasty and authentic Shanghainese cuisine, with nice decor and service. We ordered four dishes. The stuffed gluten came in a huge portion and was sweet and savory; there was a little fire at the bottom to keep it warm. The pork and bok choy fried rice had a nice aroma with the rice and tiny bok choy pieces balancing out the saltiness and fatiness of the pork. The fish with wine sauce had a good mix of flavors, with a nice sweetness from the wine. The green beans were tender and seasoned with garlic slices.

Yelp
We had the pleasure of dining at Fiery Shanghai, and it was an absolute delight for the whole family! The highlight of our meal was definitely the xiaolongbao and shizitou! My kids also love the sesame balls. My personal favorite is the spicy food here.

Andrea K.

Yelp
Located in a large shopping center with lots of free parking. A restaurant has lots of seating for large parties. It's nice that there's a Lazy Susan in the middle of the table. I love that. Everything we had was very tasty and fresh. Just beware that if you order any of the spicy foods, they happen to have the numbing flavor in them. We had the Shanghai noodle which was very flavorful. The XLB, which was very tasty. Also, the pan fried bun was good. Pan fried dumplings were flavorful. Green beans were cooked to perfection. The service was amazing. They're very attentive and provided anything we asked for.

Yelp
We came in for dinner, and things went downhill fast. A short, heavier-set server approached and asked if we wanted Peking duck. Since we weren't in the mood, I politely declined. Instead of continuing with our order or offering drinks, she just turned and left without a word, giving us a strange look. It was rude and unprofessional. As we were finishing our meal, a fight broke out. The same server started yelling at another staff member, loud and full of what sounded like curses in Chinese. It was shocking and incredibly uncomfortable. She looked furious, and for a moment, I thought she might physically attack the other server. How can a restaurant allow this kind of behavior in front of customers? It ruined the atmosphere and left a bad taste in our mouths. If I ever come back, I will make sure not to have her as my server--or even see her, for that matter. She needs to learn to control her temper and handle conflicts professionally, ideally by escalating issues to management instead of creating a scene in front of customers. Management should seriously address this, or they'll keep losing customers.

Nancy L.

Yelp
My dad suggested this place because he loves Shanghainese food. We were pleasantly surprised that this place features very authentic Shanghainese food. The star was the sautéed shrimp... so tender and sweet, delicately sautéed, served with vinegar. Sorry I forgot to take a photo. Cumin beef was my other favorite. Perfectly tender and flavorful. Honey ham with buns... I've never had this before; so yummy. Xiao long bao was just adequate; probably the worst item of the dishes we ordered. They are too big to be xiao long bao, You can also see that there are a lot of Chinese patrons so it is very authentic. Excellent Shanghainese food!

Dynaton T.

Yelp
Super fancy Chinese restaurant. Service was ok, we had to call the waiter over to order. The restaurant was not even super busy. They did however checked on us quite often during our meal. The food was pretty good but really heavy. Their dumplings are very different from traditional dumplings. It is way more juicier and kind of tastes like it's filled with bone marrow or some sort of fat, which we like but definitely into a food coma afterwards. Dandan noodles were really good. Caution: there is a good amount of the numbing pepper. The XLB was decent with good filings and soup. The dumplings had a really good crust at the bottom and was decent size. Most likely will get that again when we come back.

Yelp
For my mother's birthday, she really wanted to come here to try their shanghai special stuffed duck, they ask for a credit card to charge $100 reserve fee for the duck, as it requires special order, which is fine. The duck tasted fine, a bit too much sauce and too salty. However, the reason for the low star is the billing logistic. We order about six dishes but one of them never came, which I ain't even mad about. When the bill comes, sure enough they still charged me, so I have to correct them. Now, afterward my mother check her credit card and found that they charge thru the $100 duck reservation fee, but they never credit us on the final bill! So they basically charge us $100 twice! We have to go back in person to correct their mistake. I can forgive one billing error, but two billing errors in one dinner is very sus!

Augusto T.

Yelp
There is potential, but mostly missed opportunities. The menu is quite extensive and features some interesting dishes. Some of them are elaborate and it's definitely a place that you should come to with family or friends as the portions are quite large and meant to be shared. The decor is interesting, with fake flowers and teal blues giving it a different vibe. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like it's been cleaned since it opened and the walls and floors are pretty dirty, which somewhat ruins the dining experience. Service was attentive, proactive, and very solid. Major props there. Food was uneven. Some dishes had potential, but many were not properly seasoned and way too bland. This place is not cheap, so the execution needs to be better. The rice was horrible. Mushy, overcooked, and bland. It was a drag on the whole meal. There are better Chinese options locally.

Kevin T.

Yelp
Came here for a friend's birthday dinner in search of good Shanghainese food out in the wilds after his favorite place had closed down. It's a good deal further out of my usual zone, but Fiery Shanghai definitely has legit good and authentic foods alongside an immaculately clean interior decor and pretty good service. Pleasonton is certainly far for me, but quite a great experience even with such a large party (25! They handled it quite well all things considered). Ample amounts of parking in the sizable plaza. Service staff gracefully handled having three children's seating, walkers, frequent tea refills, as well as quickly serving up dishes as they were done. They also graciously provided clean plates and disposable cutlery for our birthday cake without any trouble. A+ for service for sure. As it was a dinner party I wasn't able to get detailed shots/breakdowns of everything we had, but generally speaking pretty much all the classic dishes were done well with clean executions and the only thing that wasn't perfect was more of an unusual wild card to begin with (Curry Chicken that turned out to be a simple Chinese curry). You knew it was the only one to not be favored when it's the last one to be finished in a big dinner, which to be fair is a pretty good average. ==Ordered dishes: Water-boiled Beef String beans Stir fried rice cakes with shepherd's purse Shenjianbao Braised pork belly Braised wheat gluten w/ Mushrooms Stir fried lamb with Onion Sweet & Sour Pork

Tao L.

Yelp
We went there for my daughter's birthday. My in-laws love their American style Chinese dishes and I love the 凉拌白肉...I am glad we could all get our favorite dish in one restaurant. The service was great too. Eason helped us to make sure everyone is comfortable.

Alexis V.

Yelp
Soggy food extremely soggy Service okay Not nice Food was not crispy when ordered fried shrimp

Yelp
Fiery Shanghai is Fiery! You get dinner and a show! We came around 7:00 pm on a Saturday. It was busy but not a full house. The decor is nice. Traditional Chinese with large tables for family style eating. Very nice and well done restaurant. They have a full menu with over 200 items including pictures. Tables are nice covered with linen and seat backs are draped formally. We got seated quickly and had several people attending to us. So we ordered Mongolian Beef, Orange Chicken, Hot and Sour Soup, Spring Rolls and Crab Fried Rice. As we sat and talked we heard a crash of dishes which wasn't unusual. What followed was. A few seconds later one of the lady servers starts yelling in Chinese. It was loud and aggressive. I don't speak or understand Chinese but even I knew she was pissed. She yelled more and louder until she chased our server to the back room. Charging at her like she wanted to attack her. They drag our server to the back while this lady continues to yell and when she reaches the back a lady and a man are holding her back. In between this our food starts coming out. Except no soup and only one main dish. As we were telling our server who looked like one of the cooks we don't even have our soup, the same yelling lady charges to the back again yelling and wanting to get in the back to get that girl. A few of the staff are now holding her back. I had never seen anything like that ever and have worked in a few restaurants. After that scene the vibe was weird and tense. I guess to lighten the mood they played a creepy happy birthday song that sounded like it was pulled from squid games. Food was good but after that side show it was weird. So if you go I suggest take away.

Kev H.

Yelp
Food: it's probably one of my favorite chinese restaurants in the Tri Valley Area. Their highlights in my opinion include: - Braised pork with preserved vegetables in brown sauce: the pork belly was so tender, and the sauce was both sweet and savory. Very delicious. And the preserved vegetables added needed fresh and bright tang to the entire dish. Super good with rice. - Fish flavored shredded pork: see my previous review. Bottom line is it's super good. Sweet, savory, slightly sour and spicy. - Spicy and sour beef with pickled cabbage: they used really thin beef slices (like the ones they use for shabu shabu) so they were very tender. The broth was refreshing and the sourness from the pickled cabbage helped cut through the richness of Chinese food in general. - Spicy fried chicken: see my previous review. Good but I felt like it was overshadowed a bit by the other dishes. Service: good. Staff was nice and polite, and super helpful - they packed for you any leftover. Very impressed with the service. Ambiance: the restaurant looks very beautiful with its signature sea-foam color. It was reflected on the wall and on their menu.

Yelp
I had an exceptional dining experience at this restaurant, thanks in large part to the professionalism of the manager.

Yelp
This place is outstanding! We've only gotten takeout here, but I'm so glad to find a place with excellent and perfectly executed Szechuan dishes closer to home! We had been going to China Lounge, but their waits were sooo long and it's a farther drive. This place is better! I have found new good things to order every time, and love the standbys: Twice Cooked Pork, Cumin Lamb, Chili oil wontons and spicy eggplant in garlic sauce. I also love that they have hot and cold vinegar shredded potatoes, something I can't often find, and you can order delicious wood ear mushrooms. Oh! And I don't think this is Szechuan but their BBQ pork, plus their dry fried green beans are both amazing! I plan to get this as a separate, simple dinner soon! We can't get enough and this is our now standing Szechuan restaurant.

Yelp
Updated review: Pacific Place in Pleasanton is of course, stacked with Asian eateries and there seems to be a new one popping up every now and then. Fiery Shanghai has been around and we've dined here for lunch a few times. It is spacious with brightly-lit interior and boasts a pretty large menu with glossy pictures. There were a few good dishes we normally get, but also roughly the same number of mediocre and subpar dishes. Prices are also on the high side, so be careful in trying to order too many dishes. Dim Sum over at King Wah may be a better option for sampling. Starting with the positives: * Green Scallion Beef - similar to Mongolian Beef but without the spiciness. Very soft beef on the sweeter side, and somewhat toddler friendly. * Fried Red Bean Cake - not sure what else to call it, but its like a fried quesadilla filled with sweet red bean paste. * Black Sesame-Filled Dumplings in Red Bean Soup - yet another excellent dessert. Red bean soup is something you often get at the end of a Chinese dinner banquet, but I think black sesame dumplings are good any time. The balance of sweet and bitter plus gritty texture is just hard to pass up. * Chili Oil Pork Wontons - we get this dish with sauce on the side so our toddler has a chance to enjoy without the heat. Now for the negatives: * Smoked Chicken - yikes this dish was like 80% bone and skin and what meat they did offer on that lean bird was super salty. We could not finish this dish and it seems liked the waitstaff did not agree with our feedback. * Sliced pork with veggies - this dish came in its own heated container and comprised bell peppers and some really fatty pork slices. This is not the good type of fat from a marbled steak or on rendered pork belly, but just unappetizing layer of fat stuck on some dry meat. * A $5 tea charge is never pleasant but hey they need to make money I suppose.

Yelp
The resturant more and more becomes a community kitchen. I ordered food online and take them away any time with advanced notice. The price is reasonable and the taste is good. It is very convenience and easy. also I often have lunch special during working days with many choices that I loved. Many times, I told the waitress that we are so lucky to have a restaurant near us that brings me the memory of my mother's dish, I appreciate it so much. Very soon, I will move to a different city after living here for 34 years. I will miss it for sure.

Yelp
dim sums were good, both XLB and pan fried buns were juice. chicken was a little dry. the sauce for chicken and pork tasted same. didn't like the honey sauce to much, but the prawns were big good size. the duck was way too dry. one older lady was a very good server. the Restaurent was clean.

Yelp
Very solid dishes. Detailed breakdown below: **Service, 4.5/5** Friendly and attentive, although we weren't initially provided ginger for our XLB. We also needed to ask for chili oil and soy sauce. **Decor & cleanliness, 4/5** Clean and spacious interior. Many tables are covered in plastic, presumably for social distancing, but the staff enter the plastic area often and it's a little tacky and very noisy. They might be better off without all the plastic. **Price & portion, 5/5** Solid portion sizes for the prices. **Taste, 4/5** - Chicken soup, 3/5: The soup itself was fantastic and full of flavor, but all the chicken pieces in the soup were incredibly bony and had dry, tough meat. - XLB, 5/5: Lots of tasty soup inside and a solid dumpling skin. I prefer a more silky XLB skin, but this thicker exterior also meant there was no chance of breaking the skin and spilling when grabbing one. - Rice cakes, 3.5/5: Good flavor, but way less veggies and pork than advertised in the picture. Because there were so few toppings, the dish ended up feeling unbalanced. - Pan fried pork dumplings, 5/5: Super crispy bottoms and flavorful, juicy filling. - Stir fried meat with veggies, 4.5/5: The pork was well cooked and the dish wasn't spicy despite it's fiery red appearance. They didn't remove the seeds from the bell pepper though. **Other notes** Parking. Restrooms.

Yelp
Both Xiao long bao and fish are very tasty except the fish is more spicy than I requested. I'm from Shanghai, their food is authentic. The dining area is spacious. I went there the first time after shopping. It's just a bit pricey.

Yelp
The restaurant used to be good. But i have no luck after pandemic. I ordered old Shanghai style pan fried buns. The buns tasted not fresh. I think it is because the buns are fried with overnight unfresh cooking oil. I also ordered Yang Zhou fried rice. No bbq pork. The chef used luncheon meat instead of bbq pork. Very disappointed.

Yelp
Food was 2 stars. Kung pao was not spicy at all. Rice was flavorless, I added soy sauce which helped. Pot stickers were not good, only took one bite and threw the rest in the trash. Service was 0 stars. We ordered all the food at the same time but the server forgot to put in the potstickers. The chicken and rice arrived, we ate, finished, asked for a box, reminded the server about the potstickers that we didn't get so they could take it off the bill... except they wouldn't take it off the bill.. they made us wait for the potstickers to be ready and boxed them up to go. That's already annoying because why would I want them now after we already finished eating. But ok whatever.. Then the server comes and asks us for her tip because she noticed there was no tip left on the card. Giving us the evil eye and following us to the door saying to leave a tip on the counter??? Super weird and unprofessional. I always tip by the way, I work in the food industry and understand how it is. But asking for a tip is crazy.

Yelp
All I have to say is that the food was good, but the service is terrible!! All waitress seems like they're running around trying to look busy without caring for the customer. I had to ask for water several times before they brought to the table. I had to wait for a dish for 30 minutes which I had to ask for several times also, and this was when I had almost finished all my other dishes. Most likely will not visit this place again...

Yelp
Service is great but the food is sub par. The noodle feels dry and the sauce smells funky. Also the rice must be the lowest quality ones you can get from the ranch market next door.

Yelp
Shanghai eggrolls are horrible. They say pork there is no pork. It's just mush. and oil.

Yelp
Have been eating here for years. Very authentic and delicious Shanghainese food. Especially love the Shanghai Cai Fan and Hong Shao Rou. Excellent service and recommendations from Freya as well!

Yelp
Fiery Shanghai is located in the Pacific Pearl shopping center where the 99 Ranch is located, in the furthest corner of the center next to 85c bakery. They have both an indoor sitting area, as well as an outdoor area, but usually it's mostly indoors where the tables are since they aren't typically all that busy on a regular weekday time, though even during the weekends they're rarely too busy, though they can certainly get that way during the major holidays (lunar ones included). The place seems pretty big when you first walk in, but there's actually not quite as many tables set up as there could be, not that it's a bad thing since this also provides plenty of space between tables for people who are seated, so I'm not complaining about that. The staff here are pretty good. Every time I've been back, they're helpful, they certainly are attentive, and overall no issues with the service in general. The menu here is decently sized. This is a mixture of Shanghai foods, and then your typical Chinese banquet style type of menu items, so for those who are looking to try some of the more traditional menu items and not as adventurous on the Shanghai cuisine, this place will have those to offer as well. Pricing wise, they are on the pricier side of things. While it's about on par for this particular shopping center, it's going to be more than other typical Chinese restaurants down the street, albeit much further down the street for those familiar with this area. While the prices are high, at the very least the portions are good here, so it does offset somewhat when taken into consideration. Food here is good. While some of their Shanghai stuff is not quite as traditional, it's still real good and tastes good. The ingredients they use here are all good, and certainly worth the value. I would honestly stick with some of the more basic dishes here, as everything from that aspect has always been great flavor wise, and portion wise. Some of their more expensive specialty dishes, while okay, just don't really feel worth it since the mark-up on stuff like the honey ham dish just didn't really feel like it warranted the price compared to what you get. Just the basic fish dishes, the pork belly dishes, those were more than adequate. Now, wait wise, sometimes they do get very busy, which they aren't always. This probably explains why the service gets so slow at times if you go there when they're slammed with customers/orders. The to-go ordering there seems hit or miss, as several times I've been there, it feels like there's people standing at the front of the restaurant when we sat down, and are still there somehow when we're halfway-almost finished with our meal. Overall, worth a visit for those who are interested in good food in general. While some of the Shanghai stuff is good, it's more of the basic stuff that they do well that I feel is more worth it here. Not necessarily the none Shanghai stuff, but just some of the more basic Shanghai dishes here are great.
