"While you’re at Moving Coffee, plan on picking up a loaf or two of artisanal sourdough bread baked next door at Fife Bakery." - ByChris Morocco

A nice local bakery around the neighbourhoods, Fife bakes the most amazing sourdough in town. I liked mine pre-sliced, which you can pre-order a day in advance from their website. You can’t really go wrong with and of the options but my favourite is the simple country loaf ($8). Occasionally, I also got coffee or matcha (from the amazing paragon tea room), and they are always consistently good. Also tried a few of their other pastry offerings: sausage roll ($5.75 closest to Australia’s version I could find here) and canele ($3.75 good but a little bit too burnt).

Google
Top notch Bakery. Friendly Staff. Great Service. Fast Service. Good Prices for the area. If you’re looking for delicious bread or a delicacy of a tasty pastry this is a must stop. The Sausage Roll was delicious, the puff pasty was light and full of flavor. Cozy Atmosphere for a such a small place, but the welcoming atmosphere was refreshing compared to other bakeries I visited the same day. Their bathroom was super clean and had a super fancy toilet. The coffee left a pleasant smell in the air. They have a cute wall of dog pictures in the back for customers dogs. Overall this Bakery had one of the best vibes along with delicious treats.

Small and out-of-the-way bakery and coffee shop. They don’t open until 9 which is usually too late for me to come by in the morning, but I recently had the chance to grab a morning snack here. I got a berry muffin and a hojicha milk tea. The muffin was really good; it tasted like it might have been made with cornmeal which gave it a unique and pleasant texture and rounded flavour. Lots of juicy berries inside. The hojicha was very high quality and strong. The shop is very small, only 4 stools set up inside, and a picnic table outside for when the weather is nice. The corgi theme is cute. Staff were very nice. In addition to baked goods (whole loaves of bread as well as individual-sized items) and drinks, they have a few sandwiches available. So I’ll try to come back for lunch!

Line-ups out the door is common here (likely due to the small service space within) but don’t worry, it moves fast! Cute little cafe serving up your fresh baked breads, along with sweet and savory pastries! Wash it all down with a side of drip, espresso, pour over, or milk tea. This time I popped by as part of the Hot Chocolate Festival and got the “Sunrise Greenfields” (pictured below) which is only served from January 13-28. Overall, 5/5 would recommend!

Google
What an adorable little cafe! Their iced Americano was okay, but baked goods looked and smelled delicious and the atmosphere was great. Love the corgi theme!!!

Google
Bought a chocolate chip cookie. It’s definitely over cooked. Tasted a little burnt. It doesn’t look like other peoples cookies :( that were posted. But the service and place is cute. I’m sure other things are good

Google
Fife is quite small but the quaint atmosphere is what makes it so welcoming— if you can get a table. The dog theme is truly *chef’s kiss* and their desserts are always phenomenal. I’ve only really been here for the Hot Chocolate Fest but if I judge the whole place off of their hot chocolate creations, it would be a 7/5 stars for me. Coming inside to Fife after being around the neighborhood in the rain is like a warm hug.

Google
This is a verrry small coffee shop. They make on site and have amazing croissants. I was surprised to find their coffee even for espresso is only in medium roast. They have many very interesting coffee beans with many unique and distinct flavors. I guess dark roasting will take away much of their character. So I chose to have a cappuccino instead of my usual Americano to let the steamed Avalon organic milk cut away the acid.

Yelp
I always enjoy the Hot Chocolate Festival in Vancouver every year. Fife Bakery is my regular place to go. They offer several baked goods and drinks. This year, they offer : #75 - SUNRISE GREENFIELDS Available: January 13 - 28, 2024 Rich Shizuoka matcha with Cacao Barry Zephyr chocolate, finished with yuzu marmalade syrup. Served with a yuzu poppyseed muffin. This one was amazing! The matcha hot chocolate and yuzu syrup matched in a perfect way! The first sip had a strong yuzu flavor, and the matcha flavor came later. I wish they would offer this drink on their permanent menu. #76 - SUNSET WOODFIELDS Available: January 29 - February 13, 2024 Roasty Shizuoka hojicha with Cacao Barry Inaya chocolate, finished with candied orange marmalade syrup. Served with an orange poppyseed muffin. I was very surprised by this ingredient combination - Houjicha and orange marmalade. Surprisingly, they matched well. However, I prefer less orange marmalade since Houjicha itself has a strong flavor. I feel like there are so many things going on in this one drink. Overall, Fife Bakery's hot chocolate never disappoints me. I will go back to get baked goods and other drinks for my next visit.

Yelp
When I tell you that my husband and I are absolutely feral for their porridge loaf, I'm not even remotely exaggerating. We tried their bread during our dinner at Botanist and decided we absolutely needed to grab a loaf before we left town. We swung by on a Saturday right around 11 am and were initially wondering if they even had any porridge loaves left since the shelf was empty. However, they let us know that they were currently making more and we could get some if we were able to wait a couple minutes! YAYAY. The porridge loaf was described as an oatmeal sourdough during our dinner and it just had the best crust with the crunchy little bits in the middle from oatmeal and grains. I'm so so glad they were able to get a loaf before we left! We also tried the choclatine which was solid. Next time, I hope to taste more of their bakes good and will most likely eat my way through their other loaves if I'm being completely honest. The location itself is pretty small but very cute; service was incredibly friendly and we appreciated their flexibility in getting us some much needed bread. Prices are certainly fair for what you get and I'm once again going to say PLEASE GET THIS BREAD IF YOU CAN. Parking in the area is street parking but there is plenty of space around; plan accordingly!

Yelp
Visited @fifebakery for their Sunrise Greenfields as I love matcha and yuzu! It was one of the sweeter drinks but the combination was great. There was a yuzu poppyseed muffin as well but the taste of yuzu wasn't as strong with that one. This flavour is only available until the 28th! Also, this bakery is absolutely adorable. If you love corgis, you just gotta be there! Friendly service and chill ambiance!

Steven N.

Yelp
This place makes the best sourdough bread in Vancouver. Hands down. You can't even compare. If you're looking to buy a loaf to spruce up your weekend brunch, this is it. I've purchased from Fife over the years and they have never disappointed. Half loaves are great if it is just two of you but go for the full loaf for sure. The hype is real indeed.

Vanessa W.

Yelp
I got a chocolate chip cookie because I've heard that theirs is really good, and it was delicious! It was thin and chewy, with a generous sprinkle of sea salt, which elevated the cookie's rich flavour. I took it to go since the space was small. I'll definitely be back for the cookies and to try more of their baked goods!

Magdalen K.

Yelp
We had the bread from Fife at the restaurant the botanist and kept asking for more and more bread. It was so delicious! So after our experience we had to check out the bakery. Their baked goods were pretty good but did not blow me away like the bread. We also had their drip coffee, and I'm not sure if it was too strong or something, but it tasted pretty terrible in my opinion (very acidic). This bakery is still worth a stop, though, specifically for their delicious bread. The staff there was also very kind!

Yelp
Hot Chocolate Festival 2022 GODDESS IN THE CLOUD · A Jasmine-infused hot chocolate under a salted Oolong cream cloud with a hint of passionfruit. Served with a chocola-tea cookie. Super creamy and smooth with a strong and rich jasmine and oolong taste With each sip, I was left craving for more and I feel like I'm in seventh heaven Made with quality jasmine and oolong teas from Paragon, Fife did not disappoint with their delectable hot chocolate and cookie pairing!

Lindsey D.

Yelp
Was on a surprise "unofficial food tour" that particular morning. Tried Fife Country Bread and a chocolate chip cookie. Fife Country Bread is something I've been dreaming of, it is one of the best loaves Ive had in Vancouver. Must order! They do half loaves. It was so good, I ate that bread naked when I had an array of condiments and meats, cheese, spreads all laid out. It was delicious the 8 hours I had it from hour one to hour 8 toasted. I did a Chocolate chip cookie battle that day. Fife vs Flourist. Flourist won. However they gave us the wrong cookie that day for my friends cookie and it tasted cross contaminated with the vegan one.... Country loaf... must.

Amanda N.

Yelp
Such a cute coffee place. Loved how they stick corgis on their cup. It's located in an industrial area and it's all street parking. It's a little coffee shop with a variety of coffees and bakery goods. I didn't get to try the coffee, but their croissant was freshly baked. Staff were also super helpful.

Debbie L.

Yelp
Small, intimate shop. Yummy pastries, good coffee. We had the ham and cheese croissant and also, the spinach and cheese pastry.

Kay F.

Yelp
Got a chance to come by to try their hojicha latte on a humid day, good flavour and very refreshing!

Teresa C.

Yelp
This apple pie was scrumptious. A classic apple pie done extremely well. From the tender and flaky rich dough, offset by the sweet and tart moist apple slices and the aromatic hint of spices, it was a wonderfully made dessert. A great balance of textures and flavours all in one bite. This was one of the better versions of apple pies we have tried. A perfect Christmas after dinner dessert, of course, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

LuFei L.

Yelp
Visited for the Hot Chocolate Festival and it definitely did not disappoint. Truthfully, I only went because I wanted the adorable corgi cups and I didn't even look into what their hot chocolate was. I was very pleasantly surprised with the first taste of the fruity mango mixed with rich dark chocolate. It was absolutely delicious! I never would've thought mango goes well with chocolate, but now I know! I also ordered a latte. Even though Moving Coffee is gone now, the coffee quality has not diminished at all. This was probably my first experience ever where I had to choose the coffee for my latte. Honestly I was a little bit thrown off, but it truly emphasizes how serious they are about their coffee. They also have free street parking which is amazing. That seems to be very rare these days :(

Yelp
I had the pleasure of encountering this cozy bakery a month after it opened in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood in 2016 and I have continued to be a return customer since then. Fife Bakery prides themselves for locally sourcing ingredients, as they always strive for quality and perfection in the nutritious baked goods and coffee they sell. The amazing one of a kind positivity that the owner Felix, and his staff embody is something that all establishments should possess. The knowledge that he has on creating food is beyond his years. He treats every customer with respect and answers each of their questions in detail, taking into account their personal preferences and expectations. Seeing that restaurants, small scale bakeries and grocery stores in the surrounding regions of Vancouver stock Felix's naturally-levained sourdough reflects on just how amazing these hand-crafted, organic loaves are. So, if you ever find yourself there on a day where Fife has sold out for the day and Felix can't magically find one for you, then visit Fife's website for a list of stockists they supply with bread on a weekly basis. You can also call ahead to Fife on most days to reserve a loaf for pick-up to avoid being disappointed and they will gladly hold it for you. Most times, I excitedly run home hugging a hot loaf if I haven't already devoured half the loaf at the bakery. My favourites at Fife besides the country loaf are the Sausage Roll, Gumpy's Canelé and the Salted Chocolate Chip Cookie. Each of these are guaranteed to leave you wanting more to take home or back to the office and share with people. In addition, I'm also pleased to see that Fife also offers a scrumptious Grilled Cheese Sandwich on Saturday, paired with tomato jam on two slices of their signature sourdough country loaf. It's an excellent comfort food for those taking walks along False Creek in the winter months or any season! During the current COVID situation, Felix and his team have bravely continued to push on and keep the locals of the Olympic Village/Mount Pleasant neighborhood well fed. They have modified Fife's menu to include family-sized meals in 1 Litre servings, in order to ease the worries of people who may have trouble accessing groceries or depend on food establishments to feed themselves in normal times. New menu items available for pickup include meatballs, vegetable stew, four different types of chowder soups and a family size apple pie. The usual loaves and some pastries have also been made available for purchase as well. Steps away from transit hubs, Main Street-Science World Skytrain Station and Olympic Village Station, they do an awesome job keeping up their social media presence on Instagram with updates. So, if you're ever in the neighborhood, be sure to check it out and support this gem of a local business!

Kimberly C.

Yelp
Definitely add Fife Bakery to your "must try" list if you haven't already. Fantastic baked goods -the porridge loaf is the best I've ever had. Everything is fresh and made with care using the highest quality ingredients. Their friendly service is the cherry on top!

Jenna W.

Yelp
I've been seeing this bakery around Instagram and wanted to come because their cups are so darn cute! Opened in late 2016, the bakery is named after the Canadian wheat variety red fife. The bakery itself is small, and only one customer or same small group is allowed inside with COVID regulations. Once you put in your order and pay, you wait outside and the staff bring you your order. It was our first time here, so we didn't know what to expect. There were 4 staff members working and talking amongst themselves so no greeting. I had to awkwardly interrupt them to ask what they recommended. One of them kindly explained their most popular drinks. We got the milkspro, which is essentially like a flat white, and their hojicha milk tea. All of their milk-based beverages are originally made with organic whole milk, but we subbed with oat milk for an additional price (lactose intolerant problems). By the time we came around, they didn't have any bread or much pastries around. We ended up sharing their chocolate chip cookie with sea salt and 65% dark chocolate. I found it too sweet on its own, but addictive when paired with their milkspro. So-so service, good drinks, cute packaging. A solid 4!

Randi M.

Yelp
Went here for the Hot Chocolate Festival, but didn't get the cookie that came with the drink, paid $7 for a small drink.... Didn't give it 1 star, cause I at lease got the drink and I love tea infused food/drinks, so that's why I was really disappointed that I didn't get the tea cookie...

Yelp
Fife Bakery is located on 3rd Ave and near Quebec Street. I heard about a young talent guy open his own bakery in town. I was quite excited to check it out. It's small bakery shop and very limited of levain bread. I bought loaf of sourdough and baguette. Crusty dough and moist inside, it's good to try but it's not my cup of tea.

Becky M.

Yelp
I really liked the coffee here. I had the macchiato & had a taste of the espresso used in the macchiato on the side for an extra 0.50 cents. It was floral and full of flavor. They also sell fresh baked bread and a few other goods. I bought a half of the raisin walnut bread and it tasted great. The cost of half a loaf is $5.75. The service is very good and the space is just a small area but well designed. It's a great stop for a quick coffee, or you can order beans & bread to go.

Lauren A.

Yelp
I don't write reviews. But the goodness of the cheese and spinach pastry from Fife must be known far and wide. Crispy nubbins, savory center. Thank you Fife, thank you.

Holly L.

Yelp
A latte from Moving Coffee (same location), a slice of their fresh baked fruit and nut bread and a coffee bun made for an heavenly breakfast. The birdfeeder bread was one of the best fruit and nut bread I've ever eaten. The only thing missing was butter and jam, not that it needed it. The coffee bun was light and buttery underneath the crunchy coffee topping. The latte art was beautiful and velvety smooth. It went well with the delicious breads.

Dru C.

Yelp
Fantastic little bakery tucked away and hidden away. You can't see this unless you know know about this. On top of that it is a small little coffee place too. If you are not into proper coffee then don't complain. Educate yourself and learn, it is not hard. Anyways, I mainly come here for the sourdough bread. Living for the little bird feeder, if you are into special bread loaded with delicious little treats. And they make their bread fresh daily, and by the one and only Felix and Kieran. Both amazing new artisan bakers that are growing up to become amazing people. (There is totally no bias there). Their sourdough can be the life of the party, as I have brought them to many and just be eaten on their own with a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Love their bread tons and will be buying some little later tonight to bring back for a party up coming this week!

Jessica A.

Yelp
Tiny little bakery selling loaves, cookies and coffee when I visited. A colleague told me about this place and highly recommended the bread - I'm a sucker for gluten so of course the next time I needed a bread for a dinner party, I dropped by later in the afternoon. There were people filling up the place just chatting (there are only about 2-3 seats) and two people behind the counter. The selection was pretty limited since there was less than an hour before they closed, but form the porridge bread, sourdough, olive and birdfeeder (seeds with cranberry), I opted for the birdfeeder. Samples quickly at home before guests arrived and paired with a salty aged Manchego, then with some cream cheese. Thumbs up! Would try this loaf again, as well as grab one of the cookies that were on sale...something tells me there's some brown butter goodness happening in those cookies. Loses one star as the cashier handled my food with bare hands (in between handling the register), and also as the POS machine adds in tip, even though you press "ok" to get through the "percent or amount" prompts. Yes, my bad, but I'd leave no tip if I could since I was buying bread for home.

Sarah C.

Yelp
We LOVE the bread from Fife--both the country and the porridge loaves are excellent ... when we can get them. This is a small bakery amidst Mt. Pleasant's industrial area. Definitely an excellent addition to the neighborhood. ...but the past two times I've been, there has been no bread available. On one occasion we were told loaves wouldn't be ready for another hour and on another occasion it was "only" going to be a 20 minute wait. I'd love to go, just once, and be able to walk in, order a loaf--or half loaf, which they kindly offer--and pay and leave. Now, both times I've gone it was Saturday morning, so I've learned my lesson to go at some other time. But, having worked in a bakery in my younger years I know bakers often have to wake up hours before their doors open so that sufficient quantity is available for customers. It would be great if Fife bakery had product available in the hour after they opened. (I can only imagine that estimating how much product to make can be difficult, but to not have any 30mins after opening for the day is bad for customers. Nelson in Gastown only makes a particular quantity for the day and once that's sold out, customers are out of luck. We're now "trained" to go early or to forget it. And, actually, when loaves aren't available at Fife we head over to Nelson the Seagull). Bottom line--Fife makes excellent bread that we hope we can see more of!

Andy C.

Yelp
Fife Bakery is a new addition to the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood that specializes in rustic old-school bread using traditional baking techniques. This is a bread lovers paradise! The loafs have a moist, fluffy, airy inside with a crispy crust. Felix Yau is the 22 year old owner and baker behind Fife. He baked his first loaf in a tiny toaster at the age of 9. Currently the space is shared with Moving Coffee, a local roaster and barista. The bakery is open for business Tues-Saturday while the coffee shop is open Tues-Sunday. On Sundays, the baked goods are from Moving Coffee. The name Fife comes from a wheat type called Red Fife which is the first large scale wheat harvested in Canada. It's a simple name and shows he put thought about his bakery name. The bakery's mission is to create delicious bread from local and sustainable ingredients. - 95% of ingredients are from local sources in the lower mainland - Remaining 5% of ingredients come from other Canadian sources - All packaging is 100% Canadian, recyclable and compostable - 97% of ingredients are organic or produced through organic methods - Counter tops are recycled floor tiles from a family owned bowling alley in New Westminster that was open for a few decades The old school style bread is a naturally leavened bread, meaning it's fermented dough allowing the culture to develop with the yeast and bacteria. The bread takes three days to make from start to finish. Since Felix sources local ingredients, don't be surprised the types of offering change by the season. The coffee beans offered also changes seasonally with exclusive small batch beans may come in for a week. The retail interior for customers is a small. When entering you'll see the counter of bread to the left and ovens, a tight hallway in the middle and 4 seats with counter space along the right. There is also 2 seats near the cash which don't have any table space but it's fine if you're sitting with a friend to chat while enjoying a coffee. There's also a washroom in the back! In the back is a massive industrial space. I believe the side the customer sees is just a small part of the business. Felix will most likely be expanding baking production to sell his delicious bread to restaurants, and local grocery markets if he hasn't already. The loafs are baked every hour, and usually sell out that hour too! If your timing may is bad you may need to wait a bit till the next batch is ready. Have a coffee, or cookie while you wait! Note: Slicing the bread isn't offered by default. Luckily we have a bread cutting knife at home. I usually ask him to cut a couple slices from my loaf to nibble on while enjoying my coffee. OVERALL IMPRESSION OF FIFE BAKERY: Fife Bakery is any bread lovers dream. Felix will never compromise quality for the sake of time or turning a profit. He is also one of the friendly people I've met! You can feel the passion if you stick around to chat with him. He is paired with a local coffee master Edmond from Moving Coffee who is equally as passionate about his craft. He roasts and prepares all coffee drinks himself. I think the two businesses are a perfect pair for each other. Bread and coffee just go so well together. We would recommend this place to anyone who loves coffee or bread. If there is anything you love at Fife Bakery and think we should try it next time, feel free to contact us! The Good: Baker and Coffee Roaster/Barista are extremely passionate. Both won't sacrifice quality of ingredients and technique to make a quick dollar. The Bad: Small space, seating is limited. Don't come in massive groups and expect to eat in!

Eric B.

Yelp
Very nice bakery with cannelé made just like in Bordeaux. Good coffee, beautiful tasty pastries.

Clara Y.

Yelp
The first time I went to Fife was to try their mango milk hot crossed buns. I got 2 very fresh ones (they were still warm) and absolutely loved it. The mango taste is very subtle to the point where I couldn't really notice though, but I really like the overall flavour of the spices and nuts/fruit inside. The cross was also very delicious, very reminiscent of the cookie topping of pineapple buns. The matcha latte was very tasty although I would have preferred a slightly stronger taste of matcha. Staff was very nice and attentive. Overall, great first impression and will definitely visit again.

Eric T.

Yelp
I stopped by Fife before heading back to Seattle to try their porridge bread, sausage roll, and chocolate chip cookie. Everything was so good! I shared the sausage roll with my friend and we ended up fighting over who should get the last bite. I also brought the porridge bread back to share with my family and my mom loved it so much that she plans on stopping by this bakery when she drives up to Vancouver for Chinese New Years.

Steve V.

Yelp
I really like where this business have carved out a small place in a cool spot. I'm not a coffee drinker so I'm 100% judging based on the baked goods. Their choco chip cookie is top notch but given they focus on a few things (which I like), I expected more of the bread. They clearly take great care to craft a core bread for variants but what I bought just didn't seem all that special for a boutique bread place and price. I do feel that this might have just been the type I selected and might try again if I happen to be there (and I can remember which loaf I got the first time!). Definitely good people running this place, and please remember that on Yelp 3 stars is not a condemnation,... it is "a-ok".

Conrad Y.

Yelp
Given how tight the parking situation is in this neighbourhood it's not worth most people's time to bother with this odd little place. Half the time there is nothing to eat but cookies- the bread is either all gone or not done yet and the attitude from the weirdos working there is just too much. And the prices! $11 for a loaf of bread FFS! And since when did half of $11 become $7? Guess I went to the wrong school. Anyway look for the new Purebread up the street to wipe the floor with this marginal operation and no loss to anyone.

Kate M.

Yelp
First timer at Fife today. Really cute space and the service was fantastic. They make huge loaves of sourdough bread so I bought one and it's quite delicious. The crust is especially chewy with a soft center. The bread is definitely on the pricier ($8) end compared to what you can buy on Commercial Drive which is just as good. Try it out though!

Natasha P.

Yelp
Really cute bakery that specializes in quality, rather than quantity. They offer half loaves of bread, full loaves, cookies and coffee buns. They also offer a full coffee bar. The only downside is that they only have a few kinds of bread, and they don't slice them.

Calvin L.

Yelp
I went for breakfast and got the succulent sausage roll and morning whiskey. so fresh and flavorful would love to try the choco chip cookies cuz they looked so good when i passed by them. must bring my family next time

Mimi Y.

Yelp
Cute little bakery and so cozy with tiny boards hanging out from the wall for tables. We had the olive sour dough bread and sausage rolls and both were yummy. The sausage rolls were such a hit that my cohorts came back to the bakery after sampling mine and got more rolls to go. The owner is Felix who's a sweetheart and so friendly.

Priscilla H.

Yelp
Smell the homemade bread, organic for those who care. The cookies apparently sell out by 2pm.

Ki S.

Yelp
Delicious stuffs they bake in this store, sourdough-breads, croissants, etc...but their store opening time is a bit late for bakery (9am weekdays, 11am on Sunday). And croissant is not ready until noon...seriously !? Usually people want fresh croissants in the morning. Time management this business performs is a bit disappointing, but quality of their products are great.

Light A.

Yelp
Cookie was made with rancid shortening or lard. It smelled and tasted awful (took only a small bite). I immediately walked back to the store and had him smell it, to which he replied, "It smells like how a cookie should smell". He refused to issue me a refund and offered to exchange it for another rancid cookie from the same smelly batch. I walked out of there, trashed the cookie, and proceeded to write my reviews. How did the owner handle this? By spreading lies and dispatching his friends and relatives who trolled my facebook review, forcing me to take it down and proceed to post on here and on google. Shows you what an arrogant and pompous individual he is. Also, the coffee was below average, and he dictated what I should order. He did not even give me a chance to ask about the other options. Also, I came several times during their work hours and the place was always closed. I should have taken this as a sign from God to steer clear of this place. If you want a great coffee experience, please go to Quantum or Revolver. If you want amazing bread, go to Terra Breads, which is literally minutes away from this nasty place.

Hanna L.

Yelp
I was in Vancouver for a day and had the pleasure of visiting this small bakery. The bread here smelled very fresh and is baked in-house every morning. I got the sourdough fresh out of the oven, fruit bread, and coffee. My friends and I loved how crunchy the exterior of the bread was while the inside was fluffy and chewy. I would recommend stopping by this bakery for coffee, pastries, or bread before exploring the rest of Vancouver. The owner Felix is an awesome guy too.

Sydney W.

Yelp
The hype is real. Brand new bakery (opened last week) in the mt. pleasant area and does it live up to bready expectations. Felix opened this bakery after working in the restaurant industry for a few years and his been baking since he was a kid! Imagine opening something and selling one thing: country bread. Week to begins (this week) with the multigrain (grainy goodness) and baguette. The bread is pretty much perfect. The crust is super crunchy, with that nice flour texture hitting your palette first followed by that moist inside. I threw some melted cheese on top after toasting it and ate both loaves. Gotta go back tomorrow. Check it out!

Yelp
Decent bread. Uninviting rude service. Won't be back as I would rather spend my money else where that has better bread and service.

Yelp
Okay, the chocolate chip cookie was fantastic. But, that's all they have. That, and one type of bread. So If you want a chocolate chip cookie, and one type of sourdough bread, this is your stop. It should be called Fife's 2 item bakery.

Yelp
NOTE: To the lady who wrote about the (fake news) rancid cookie, you really out here changing your story (again). This bakery has some loyal customers, and we'll support the fantastic quality of product and service that we've received. And this is my review from one loyal customer to a great bakery: First time in Vancouver and first time at Fife. I love soft chocolate chip cookies, and this bakery was selling my heaven in a bite. Don't even get me started on how delicious their sourdough is. So much so I took some back to the States with me, and still just as good despite its long journey! Already looking forward to my next trip to Vancouver and Fife~

Yelp
I saw this reviewed this on the front page of Yelp on January 5 and have book marked it since. It took me longer to get here than anticipated 'cause of their limited hours of operation, however, I made it none the less. Brand new bakery with amazing bread. The customer service was awesome. Prices are standard market prices as with most bakeries.

Yelp
Maybe the best apple pie we have ever had. And I've eaten lots of pie. Lol. Of course the opinionated will have their own? But this is mine. Chicken Noodle Soup was pretty Damn good too.

Yelp
I'm a chocolate chip fan and try them wherever I go. This is one of the best cookies I've had! The chocolate has a refined flavor that you will LOVE. I paired it a morning whiskey and it was perfection. Loving coming back here for the quality!

Yelp
Our $8 loaf of bread is hopefully going to be good, based on reviews here. However, I was utterly turned off when they declined to serve me a coffee the way I wanted. I requested an Americano, to which they replied "we don't make Americanos here, this is what we do make." I then asked for an espresso to go with a bit of hot water poured on top, and THE SERVER SAID NO. Excuse me? You are declining to serve your customer what they requested? Sorry, see ya later. Will NOT be back. UPDATE: The bread is definitively NOT worth $8. My partner (who is NOT a baker) bakes bread, and this does not compare. It didn't have enough internal structure & collapsed when we tried to cut it.

Yelp
Best bread I have ever eaten in my life and trust me, I have eaten a lot of bread!!! If you're lucky enough to stumble upon a loaf of brioche grab one, you won't be sorry. Oh, and the cookies are yum too. Coffee is fantastic but I always forget to smuggle in a packet of sugar......
