There are two sides to Fifth Ave but..Let me rave about this special! Wednesdays you need to be at Fifth Ave, not only do they have an incredible patio but on Wednesdays you get a smash burger and a bottle beer for $5. You cannot beat this special. Add a massive order of fries for $3. My new go to place on Wednesday!

Tony was great to work with! We called on super short notice for a big party and he was very accommodating for us. We ended up having a great time. Will definitely be back!

I had a really good experience with this place. There were very friendly and there were a lot of activities going on. There were ping pong tables as well as many other other bar games going on. The ping pong is what really stood out for me though. This place has a high capacity. There is even a 2nd floor, which can get pretty hype from what I hear. While I did not eat here, I heard that the food is pretty average. It did look good though. Overall, this place has good nightlife.

Fifth Avenue is definitely discriminatory towards anyone that they choose. I’ve had buddies turned away for nothing other than their pants being camo and then I’ve had other buddies have to pay like $80 just for the bouncer to 🔩-off. The drinks are overpriced. The bartenders are deaf. The upstairs smells like vomit and they have the audacity to charge $10-20 cover on guys only. The only thing that makes up for an over expensive draining night is the $3 pizza that they give out on the weekends while you’re leaving. Their other food is probably mids as well, but don’t take my word for it go wear some camo pants on a Friday and see for yourself!!

Was waiting in line for the bathroom on Friday night the 14th of December 2024 and the bathroom attendant decided to get rude and sassy with a man that was handicapped that let him know the bathroom was slippery. He decided to respond very rudely and say “I’m not the janitorial staff I’m a bathroom security person bub bye”. Show some more kindness.

Questioning why there is a lady living in the woman’s bathroom. She seems nice. Just odd. Candle lit, all her stuff under the sinks and yells at you if you try to use the hand dryer because she is passing out paper towel.

We had our holiday work party at 5 th Ave and everything was amazing! The entire staff and management team were so friendly, engaging, accommodating and helpful👍 The food was incredibly good and service was on point, my entire team had a blast We will definitely rebook for next year!

Google
The bathroom experience of this bar made it the one of the worst, if not THE worst bar experience I’ve ever had. I get having a bathroom attendant at a nice place, but when the floor is sticky and the “bathroom attendant” harasses your friends for not bringing their phone or wallet in the bathroom to tip for literally USING PAPER TOWEL, it brings the class of this place down and does no longer classify it as a “nice place.” I tipped in advance for my perfectly nice and polite friends, but that wasn’t enough for her words on 10/5/24 “they didn’t tip themselves.” The most classless, horrible place I’ve been due to the bathroom attendant.

Yelp
Club scene, good music, sports on all the TVs, Freeman hit a walk off grand slam in the World Series when I was here. What a ball player.

Yelp
This past saturday went to have a good time with my brothers for our younger brother birthday. 2 of my brothers had timberlands on, which we understand there's a dress code, but they weren't let in because of it. That's fine that's cool because they have dress code but we watched as another dude walked in with timberlands. Asked security why he got to go in and his excuse was "I didn't see it" but we watched him check him but aye that's just how it is right?

Dashawn J.

Yelp
Security honestly take their jobs so serious that they slip up watched them let two people in who had fake id's then told my friend he couldn't get in with timberland boots on but proceeded to let somebody he knew in with the same boots on as my friend then proceeded to tell my friend that he didn't see the guys shoes. this bar is a joke.

Yelp
Good vibes, decent prices! Went for Halloweekend and it was only $10 cover to get in. Drinks aren't too pricey and it's very spacious. There is a downstairs bar and upstairs bar with pool tables and dance floor. The line normally wraps around the building so be prepared to wait to get in.

Yelp
Fifth Avenue is a great place to have a festive team party. The food and the staff are awesome. Give Megan a call and she will take care of everything. We will be back next year and probably sooner.

Yelp
Great place to go out and have a few beers, looks very clean and people are friendly Definitely coming back again.

Yelp
The service is most definitely terrible even if you tip the bartender gave me tequila instead of vodka I asked him to fix it he blew me off so then I asked another bartender could they fix it and they did . I then proceeded to ask did I get over charged for the tequila that he made me when I asked for vodka and he the got an attitude yells at me and tells me next time I should speak up then I asked for a manager no one would help me then . I wouldn't ever find my self going into this low class non human establishment and I will not refer any one to go here disgusted.

Yelp
Came here with my man last night around 7 to play pool. He orders us drinks and I noticed my lemon drop martini tasted a little funny, but I'm like I always think something tastes funny. Kept drinking it and as the drink got lower, I noticed that the lemon inside my glass looked dark on one side of it. It was dark by the table so I had to go over to the light to see. There was mold on the lemon!! I couldn't believe it! There is no way someone didn't see that before putting it into my glass. How? If you can't pay enough attention to put a moldy lemon in someone's drink, you need to be fired!! The server was really nice tho, had been since we walked in, and apologetic. She got the manager to come over and he comped our drinks and pool play. So if you decide to go here check your drinks before you drink them!

Ann O.

Yelp
We were here during Arts, Beats and Eats on the patio. It took FOREVER for them to figure out which server had our table! Four servers later it was the first one who we flagged down! I would have understood this a bit more if it was busy or open seating but a host sat us! They seemed to be more interested in having bouncers at the door than proper service at their tables. Perhaps it is because it's more of a nightclub? It was a Friday afternoon, not sure it warrants two bouncers at the door, and two on the patio. Maybe they have issues at night...I guess you can never be too careful these days.

Brendan G.

Yelp
security is on a power trip with this dress code. (Whatever helps them feel important i guess..) Its just a sports bar at the end of the day but they're trying to compete with surrounding clubs with the "exclusivity" factor being randomly selective with dress code. I don't see it working out great because it's once again just a sports bar that they're trying to turn into a club. good luck with the rebrand and maybe be a bit more consistent with your messaging before you lose all your business to the other clubs.

justyna s.

Yelp
Chill environment but always a younger crowd. Service is standard nothing special and food is alright. Music is alright depending on the crowd which typically is younger.

Quake S.

Yelp
I am a regular person that comes and spends money in the bar recently have been facing racism discrimination against staff works they said that i was not in dress code and i was not casual enough in pictures 1 you can see my outfit vs other people who came in with ripped jeans the security the continued to not answer why i was not able to enter which i knew was shady i do not recommend this spot if you are a person of color I apologize but they have exampled biased behavior i will be releasing video of the process as well

Glenn M.

Yelp
They definitely have favoritism. They are overpriced, crowed and overrated. You wait in line just to get denied for what your wearing, yet others are wearing the same thing as you and can get in. Do not waste your time going here unless you want to be jam packed in with people and over pay. I promise you if you want a spacious and fun clubs go a few miles down the road to Orchid or Boogie. I've been to 5th Ave a few times and never really enjoyed the atmosphere and service.

Brittany H.

Yelp
Hmm... ok, so to fair - I DID go here during Covid times. However, I anticipated more social distancing. There was a line basically wrapped around the corner once I was sat. I was truly shocked at the amount of people waiting 45-60 minutes to get into the bar. I guess I did good coming at 8:30 on a Saturday, because once 9:00 came, the line came. But the crowds, not just the line, were wild... women dancing on chairs, everyone bumping into one another while walking. There was no social distancing and none of the bartenders or bus boys I saw had their noses covered with their masks. More than likely wouldn't come back during this time due to the large crowd. I may have well been at a festival or concert honestly. On top of the crowd, I was unable to have a Paloma or Mai Tai due to shortage of some drinks. So I stuck with house Chardonnay. On a plus note, my server, Lindsey was awesome. I appreciate good service at a bar.

Yelp
I remember the first time I walked into this place was the summer of 1994. I just got my new 1995 Mazda MX3, and I moved in with my two roommates Jeff and Jeff @940 East Fourth street. I have a lot of good memories there. I loved how they had a lot of live music on floor number two. The sad part was trying to get a drink. You had to walk across the street to get one. So fast forward to now, it has new owners the Yezbicks. Great people to know. Still a great place to hang out

Taylor L.

Yelp
I have never experienced such rude and unfriendly bartenders as I have at Fifth Avenue. They clearly don't care to be there or serve you and will give you judgemental looks if you dare ask for a food menu. They will shoo you away to a table then never serve you. Also keep in mind that if you go at night you will LITERALLY have your bar seat you're sitting on removed from you by the staff because all the younger people come in and stand around being obnoxious. What made it even more awkward was that when we walked in, one of the bouncers asked my friend and I to slap him across the face because he thought it was hot. I told him that's assault and I would not be doing that. Then when they came to take our chairs from the bar they asked again and offered to pay us (two older bald guys). It was the weirdest thing I've ever experienced at a bar. I just wanted to enjoy a night with my friend and a couple of drinks but we ended up leaving after two because they were watered down and because of how rude the bartenders were for no reason. Probably will not be back and are very disappointed.

Yelp
Best bar in metro Detroit! Always an amazing time, excellent service and great environment

Peter N.

Yelp
Place is mid. There's a dress code, which would make sense if I was going to some swanky joint, but this is a sports bar??? I was wearing a polo as well (PRL, not USPA). I guess that wasn't enough for me to pass the code. Anywho, I've been in here before and the beer was way too expensive. So I guess this place isn't for broke folk or people who don't dress like they are going to a wedding. You'd be better off going to Ye Old Saloon or Rock on 3rd. Only gave one star for the pool tables. That's about the only good thing about this place.

Devon M.

Yelp
The security guard named Tank with the blonde Mohawk is awesome. He protected my friends and I at the pool table

Christian H.

Yelp
Love this spot. Great atmosphere, awesome staff, and always the #1 spot to be on the weekends. Huge s/o to Hannah for taking such great care of my crew while we were in! She's awesome. Ask for Hannah. I'm definitely going to #endupatfifth this weekend.

Brandon W.

Yelp
black guy at the door on Saturday nights wouldn't let me in and I had on jeans let everyone in besides and told me his manger told me not to let me in and they don't know me at all. I have been there a few times with no problem. I would probably never go again

Nanny K.

Yelp
Excellent staff, service, food, ambiance, music, games etc! Megan M. made everything so easy and was a pleasure to work with. Other staff members were beyond helpful... Mariah, Chris, Alex and many others! Will definitely consider this venue again for future events!

Mariah D.

Yelp
Strong drinks, great Djs. Hands down the best patio in Royal Oak. We had the burgers and they were excellent

Tre'Shawn W.

Yelp
I've been here a few time but last yesterday was the most recent time I've went. I had about 8 mixed shots 2white tea shots, 4 Johnny Vegas shots, and 2 red head sluts. And for the first time I got a shot with just liquor, Tito's and also Dusse. Both shots taste like very watered down liquor to the point where I couldn't tell they were shots. I'm kinda disappointed but I won't be going back here. The 1/2 pound fires was wonderful though.

Diana U.

Yelp
Best staff/servers here. If you ever get Natalie as your server, you're in good hands (she knows what to recommend)! Can get a little crowded on the weekends, but good location in downtown royal oak for some drinks!

Mary N.

Yelp
Fun environment great service Melissa was outstanding!! Very quick and attentive and very sweet will be going back very soon!

Griffin G.

Yelp
I've been going to fifth avenue on the weekends for about a year now, mainly in the summer. I love the atmosphere, and it feels like two different places with the upstairs and downstairs areas. Melissa has taken really good care of me and my friends every time that I've been there. She knows my drink order, and doesn't hesitate to greet me when I walk in the door. I believe that she is a huge asset to fifth avenue, and I can't wait to see her again. shes not blonde but she is lowkey kinda cute. girl next door vibes for sure.

Hannah S.

Yelp
Very nice place, I can with a group for nye. The lines for the bathroom were ridiculous though. You would have to wait 20 minutes to go to the bathroom if you were a girl. Other than that the waitresses were very nice and helpful.

Nicole E.

Yelp
The main floor bar space is big, lots of tables, pool tables and during the summer months, great patio seating. The space upstairs is large and open. There's a separate bar up there too. The evening crowd moves up there for music and dancing. We have held several large professional network events. Been here for social gatherings for real estate team outings. It's a good spot and location for many social event and has a good bar scene.

Dave P.

Yelp
Place looks like your average sports bar... They have a dress code... Legit got stopped at the patio and was told they couldn't let me in, because in summer you should apparently dress well for sports bar patio eating. The security guy came off weird like he was a villain in a 90s crime drama.

Jayon B.

Yelp
This review isn't going to be too helpful. I recommend going during a livelier time like a Friday or Saturday night. I was there on a date so my attention was mainly focused elsewhere. But I really loved the location's placement in between the buildings. But outside of that I wasn't too impressed with the food as it seemed more like pre-made meals just heated up instead of actually cooked for their guests and the beer selection choices were decent but weak in quantity. The place seemed way nicer than to just serve mundane bar essentials.

M F.

Yelp
Could be a nice place but smells damp inside and had multiple puddles of water on the floor. Chairs and tables were dirty and my nachos were cold.

Amir G.

Yelp
This place is trash simply because of the people that work there. They always try to pick on whoever they want. The other night they let bunch of people go in with t shirts and shorts and then it got to our group and they stopped us and said you can't go in with jeans and t shirts. And one of them offered to let us in if we each pay 20 dollars. I have seen this happen many times. Spend your money somewhere else if you respect yourself.

Sonyvu N.

Yelp
You can have a great time here, if you're white. My group and I went upstairs and started dancing. Naturally the club was packed because it was the eve of July 4th. So we found a booth that wasn't being used in the corner and decided to hang out there. Of course we checked to make sure there wasn't a "reserved" sign on the table or anything blocking off the table before we sat down. (Also, there was a booth near the stage that was sectioned off with those retractable security stand, so obviously and clearly that one was reserved). One of the cocktail waitress came up and told us this table is reserved and asked us to move our party. After she left, we asked one of the bouncers if that table was reserved and he said no and that we can sit there, which is was we suspected. Then about 15 min later the same server came back and told us again this table was reserved and we told her what the bouncer said. She immediately went up to the bouncer and said whatever she needed to say to him and he came over and politely asked us to leave, which we didn't hesitate and moved on with our night. So then about 45 min later or so, a group of people (pictured) started to gather and sit in the booth and we asked them if they paid or reserved the booth? They said no. We went up to the same waitress and told her why didn't she kick that group out. She said whoever paid for the booth bailed and that she "tried" looking for us. If she had "tried" maybe she should have kicked them out first then go and start looking for us. If you look at the picture, you might see a similar characteristic amongst the group that she did not give trouble to. We, on the other hand, were rolling in with Asians, blacks, whites and brown. I'm giving 2 stars because I'm pretty sure this isn't the view of the whole business but if you look at some of the reviews, race has played a factor in deciding who gets good service or not. I will give credit where credit is due, the bartenders are fast and attentive and the layout is pretty unique so it's great to wander around if you get bored. The location is smacked in a packed bar infested street, so you can bounce to where ever you feel invited! On a slower day, it's a great place to chill. Ironically we were in there celebrating Ms. America's birthday. Looks like only some can celebrate being an American here! Cheers mate and do better.

Kenny G.

Yelp
We recently held a private office event upstairs. Everything went perfect. Megan made everything so easy and was great throughout the whole process with her communication. The staff was so helpful throughout the whole event. I highly recommend using the Fifth Avenue for any office event.

Haleigh C.

Yelp
Best place. Aaron is a doll. Wouldn't be able to survive without him. I'm so thankful he found my shoe on the pavement.

Sarah E.

Yelp
This bar was so much fun and the service made it even better! Melissa was my server and she was exceptional! She always made sure my table was taken care of and that my drink was full! Definitely coming back and requesting her!!

Sean C.

Yelp
I've been coming to Fifth for years, it's an awesome bar. I really love Jacque. She goes above and beyond for me every night. Hannah is amazing as well. Her sense of humor is the best! Definitely recommend the two of them!

Chloe D.

Yelp
Came here for a friends birthday after having a bad experience at another bar, at first it started as a good night and we were all having fun until someone in a booth tried to grab one of my friends and pull her into their booth and when she told him no he threw a drink at us and tried to fight the guys in our group and got one of our friends kicked out. I tried to explain to another bouncer what happened and he tried to help fix the situation and went over to the booth so I could point out who threw the drink at us and started the fight. But as soon as both of us went to the booths and I pointed out who started the problem the girl who was "in charge" of booth security or whatever came over and started screaming at me. Both the other bouncer and I tried to explain what was happening but she was too worried about getting more money from booth guy who tried to literally fight a bunch of women than to actually figure out what the problem was. She proceeded to ask me "what my fucking problem is" and then wouldn't let me explain anything and told me to "get the fuck out of her bar". Funny cause she's not even the owner. But yeah after telling me to leave she grabbed me by both my arms and shoved me to the floor and then called the rest of security to drag me out. I've always had a great time here and even spent my birthdays here and come here with my whole friend group almost every 2 weeks, but I don't think we'll be coming back anytime soon if not ever again after this experience. The owners and management need to seriously rethink who should be hired as security since their "booth security" thinks it's okay to shove a 85 lbs girl to the ground who was trying to explain what was going on. Seems like they are more worried about getting $500 off one person for a booth rather than having 20+ customers...laughable

Brandon F.

Yelp
Decent sports bar in Michigan. Not enough pool tables and the food is just average. Nothing great.

Jamal K.

Yelp
Me and my friends had a great time this past saturday night, Jacque was our server and she did an exceptional job even though I could tell she was very busy!

Alexandra K.

Yelp
After waiting in line in the cold for about 30 mins. We get up to the bouncers who immediately started whispering to each other. I assumed maybe they thought we looked young but I ignored it cause everyone in my group of five is all 21+. They start checking IDs and get to my friend who is wearing ripped jeans and the other who is wearing black joggers and tell us we are not allowed in because of what they are wearing. Honestly it was ridiculous. This is Royal Oak not Birmingham or even down town. Honestly so stupid as the rest of us were dressed in very nice clothes. Don't waste your time if you're not wearing nice clothes cause they won't let you in.

Brooke B.

Yelp
Natalie and Elisabeth took great care of me on my 21st birthday with some friends!! They were kind, efficient, and always made sure we were taken care of!! Definitely made my 21st one to remember!!

Rizzy T.

Yelp
I love it here, friendly staff, great drinks, pizza & good vibes.

Nayeem L.

Yelp
Nice place place to relax, grab a bite or hang out with friends. Ask for Natalie if you want the best service.

Brendan M.

Yelp
Bouncer stole $10 from me, gave him a $20 and said it was a $10. Enjoy the tip buddy. Cheap business here.

Paul W.

Yelp
Straight up trash. Dj needs to go!! Bar is under curing you. Not giving you what you actually order. A double is a single and a single is a half. Never coming back. We have a part of 30 and we are never coming back.

Ted N.

Yelp
After waiting in line for what seemed like an eternity - watching security guards openly take bribes to let dozens of people in before those who were waiting - me and my group finally got in. Once we arrived to the upstairs area I ordered a round ( 4 ) cherry bombs for my group. The lady brought 5 cups and I corrected her and made sure she knew it was 4 not 5. Once my tab arrived there was nothing itemized and it was just a bill for $45. I wanted to just double check to see if I wasn't mistakenly charged for 5 shots instead of 4 - so I asked another waitress how much a cherry bomb cost - she told me $10. So I brought it up to my bartender who waited on me - and she immediately got hostile with me and said they were $11 a piece - which means the bill was still incorrect. I told her - it's not about the money - it's the principal - why should I be overcharged by any amount on a non itemized bill where the staff can't even agree on how much something should cost. It's just shady. The bartenders response was - "you want your dollar?!"And went to her tip bucket and disrespectfully threw the dollar on the bar. Just completely uncalled for unprofessional behavior from the staff. I've managed a bar - even bartended- this is in no way shape or form the proper response to a customer who just genuinely had some questions about what was charged on a bill. The only redeeming factor for the evening was a new bartender who worked the downstairs area named Shea. She was the perfect server. Shea always made sure my group and I were getting great service. She's the only reason I would consider coming back.
