A great little “hole in the wall.” I’ve had some of my best times here. 🙂💃🏾My favorite day to visit this place is on Tuesday night when they have live bands (blues) The place could stand some remodeled!

They have two bathrooms and one of them has all of its stalls partially enclosed with a fabric shower curtain. It's extremely unsanitary and provides little to no privacy. One of the bar tenders wasn't cleaning the cups fully and I could still see soap as she mixed other people's drinks. I tried to leave and she was so aggressive and adamant about us staying.

Cute local bar but sometimes they charge a cover when you can hang outside and drink for free 🫠 I would never but I got in when it’s free & bartenders rude, don’t use gloves when cutting lines for drinks & handling money get offended when you say something… presidential lounge way better

Nice neighborhood bar. You could tell everyone knew each other. They welcomed 3 out of towners. It's definitely a hole in the wall. The ladies from North Carolina enjoyed ourselves. It was a great finally to our ladies' trip. We had no issues. Food and drinks were good.

I order 10 wings and they only gave me 7 and one of the wings was just too big to eat!

Great southside neighborhood place for live music. Blues (& some R&B) on a Tuesday night. No cover. Loved the fried perch & fries! (Better than Harold’s). Some describe it as a “hole in the wall”, which personally I think they often have the best music. I like to call it a “hidden gem” & people who keep it real. Louisiana Al always delivers his and the talent of others!

Not really my style. But if you're and older person and like to dance.....and the music a little loud. Then this is the place for you.

Great dancing, chicken wings were good, people were nice

A neighborhood bar that's been around for decades and worth patronizing. My friend and I visited on a Friday night (Oct. 3rd) for the first time from out of town--against the advice of our resident friends who said the neighborhood was dangerous. But when we got there, we felt completely safe the entire time we were there. We've been in many hoods before. The bar is on a major and very well-lit road, with plenty of street parking. We were there looking for somewhere to get some quick Chicago Stepping lessons. We got there and the bar was just opening around 5:30 pm. There was no Chicago Stepping instructor there, like it had been advertised. However, Linda, the main bartender made us feel so welcome that we decided to stay, have drinks and wait for the cook who came in at 7 pm. The drinks were good and strong and the prices were right. The DJ arrived early and played good grown folks R&B music. There were TVs. So my partner was good watching sports clips between our conversations. There's also three bar counters in the place so there was no need for people to crowd one spot to get drinks once the crowd grew. I loved that. The food was worth the wait. The wings, shrimp, and fries were fried to perfection. The crowd was an older crowd... older as in 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. But everyone was in a partying mood and out to have a good time. We watched several couples Chicago Step on the dance floor just enjoying themselves. I danced once with a regular who taught me a few steps. Then my honey and I had our chance. We had a blast. I would definitely go back there again when I visit the city.

Dope spot especially on Thursdays when it's Comedy night. Chicken is delicious. Good adult vibes

Great live music and stepping! If you like a "Mel Waiters" kind of spot with grown folks, strong drinks and good chicken wings, you have found it!

Went to The 50 Yard Line and had a blast. Went to hear Noreen Stark and she performed very well. She had the people on the dance floor, including me. lol. If you love the blues attend on a Tuesday. You will enjoy yourself. The ambience is not much to speak of, but it's good to listen to blues. I had a catfish dinner and it was okay. It was steaked and not filleted, so I had to deal with bones, but the flavor was decent. The drinks were decent as well.

Good place to dance. People are friendly. Bar stools needs up dating, delicious chicken wings.

I have not been in awhile, I used to go a lot back in the day. They starting letting the younger generation in and it didn't work out. They closed then reopened it back to the steppers and anyone 30 an over. Which is better they are crowded again.

14 dollars for a rum and coke!!!! Plain old Barcadi!!!??? That alone turned me completely off! There is no way that this club can justify the outrageous drink prices. For 14 bucks I should at least taste the liquor and there was not even that much soda added which leads me to believe that it might have been watered down. The womens bathroom needs to be totally remodeled. It smells like mildew. There is a great Live jazz open Jam on Tuesday nights. If I was rating the Jazz jam alone I would give it 5 stars. I would even feel better paying a cover for the jam versus feeling like I had been ripped off at the bar.

Don't listen to the haters: great steppin' bar and club that's welcoming to everybody if you're respectful. Prices are reasonable for a sports bar

Rude service and bad business. This place takes plastic for drinks but cash only for food. Also the cash has to be the exact amount. It's the most backward ish ever. I had a bartender literally nag me with her ghetto attitude to get a drink right when I came in the door on a Tuesday simply to check out the dance lessons and jazz band. There was only eight people in the place including my friend and me. Only two people There are three bars and forty or so seats at the bar. No one was sitting at the bar. No one was dancing. The rude bartender told me I couldn't sit at the bar of forty something empty seats because I hadn't ordered a drink and she was really acting like she owned this empty bar...but she didn't. No customer service skills whatsoever.

The 50 yard line is still serving watered down drinks. They obviously are not going to stop this practice. Therefore buy beer or nothing at all. Also drinks have increased in price, a shot of watered down cognac is $11.

About 3 years ago I was walking to the store just a half block over from this place and I wanted to go in and order some food, but was rather unimpressed with the hoodrats that congregate up in this place. I also steered clear after a shooting happened and the 50 was shut down for some time after they had complaints from people in the neighborhood about the fights and the excessive traffic and noise in and around this place.I also noticed that they seem to employ folks from around the neighborhood who are kind of hoody. I've been to a lot of sports bars, but this one does not appeal to me whatsoever. If the majority of their patrons are hoody that does not sit well with me since a lot of these types of people tend to get very rowdy and that's where you start seeing things like constant fighting and a shooting after someone either has had to much to drink or they have some beef with someone they don't like which points to gang rivalry snce the majority of bar fights in Chicago stem from someone who's drunk or they're in a gang. Even though I live 5 minutes away I won't be coming here.

Nice place, been there forever. Management are nice, family operated cool guys. Professionally run, good music and drinks.

Recently went to Willa's 50 Yard Line because I heard there is jazz there every Tuesday and the admission is free. From the moment you enter the joynt, you are greeted by a wonderful bartender named Linda, who will make sure you have a front row seat to the band and a wonderful rum punch to shake off the chill. The band was simply fantastic. Hosted by a woman they call the Jazz Cop, she kept the audience entertained and the music moving as different musicans and singers kept coming up and strutting their stuff. I was a little worried about safety after hearing the horror stories about the south side. Upon arriving, I parked in the lot which is right across from the club and the parking attendant Joe, graciously walked me to the door, and I was told I would be escorted to my car if I desired. Love it, and will make it one of my "spots" whenever I am not working. I totally recommend Tuesdays at the 50 Yard Line for the Jazz Jam. It was wonderful.
