15 Hidden NYC Bars and Speakeasies Worth Seeking Out | Eater NY

"Fig. 19’s secret pathway is more clever than most. Above the dance-centric hotspot Home Sweet Home, an art gallery has a door in the very back that leads to the hip watering hole. Chandeliers and accessible cocktails cater to a Lower East Side crowd, while the jazz soundtrack offers an escape from the rowdier scene below." - Eater Staff

A cute speakeasy tucked away inside an art gallery that offers delicious cocktails. I asked for recommendations, and the drink I got— High Society— hit the mark! The music and the atmosphere were chill and relaxing. A very nice vibe for all to enjoy!

Awesome atmosphere and ambience. Delicious drinks. Always busy here but definitely worth it. The cocktails are well balanced and the decor is really cool. Staff is attentive and you gotta love the fact that it’s a hidden bar.

The speakeasy is behind an empty art gallery but the art gallery itself was light up a bit with a purple light, however, it was still kind of dark that we almost missed the door to the speakeasy. It’s an intimate speakeasy that is great to have drinks at with friends. It wasn’t super busy when I went but still highly recommend making reservations to this place. Drinks were good and the service was good too. The only downside was that it was a bit too dark to read the menu so I had to turn on my flashlight on my phone to read it. I liked the chandeliers they had and the fireplace. It was a cute speakeasy. Overall, it was a good experience.

Google
My first speakeasy experience and it went great! It was in an art gallery and not that hidden…you opened a door and then bam there was Fig 19. I fell in love with the decor and the drinks looked great. My bartender was sweet and had knowledge about the drinks so she steered me into the perfect cocktail choice for myself. The music was alright and the bathrooms were clean which is always a plus! I definitely can’t wait to come back and have a few more drinks.

Fig 19 is a hidden gem that exudes charm and a sense of exclusivity. Nestled behind an unassuming art gallery, the speakeasy vibe is absolutely perfect for those who love a more intimate, tucked-away spot for drinks. The moment you step in, you’re greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance. The low lighting, vintage decor, and soft music create an effortlessly cool atmosphere that’s perfect for a date night or catching up with friends. The cocktail menu is thoughtfully curated, offering a great mix of classic drinks and creative concoctions. I tried the a drink and it was expertly crafted—balanced, flavorful, and clearly made with fresh ingredients. The bartenders know their craft and are happy to recommend drinks based on your preferences, which adds to the overall experience. While the drinks were stellar, the service could have been a touch more attentive. It wasn’t bad by any means, but it felt like the staff was stretched a bit thin during busier times. A little more interaction or speed would have elevated the experience even further. The vibe of Fig 19 is what really sets it apart. It manages to feel both trendy and relaxed, making it a place you want to linger for hours. The only downside is the seating—it’s limited, and getting a spot during peak hours can be tricky. I’d recommend arriving early if you want to snag a good spot to enjoy the evening comfortably. Overall, Fig 19 is a fantastic spot that delivers on quality cocktails, a unique atmosphere, and a memorable experience. With just a few small tweaks, it could easily become a five-star destination. I’ll definitely be returning to explore more of the menu and soak in the speakeasy vibes!

Nice speakeasy at the back of a store (no idea what it was). There was no waiting in line and the staff were friendly. Had a classic drink and chilled s bit before I left. The DJ did good job on music selection with club vibes. No reservation, no coverage

Incredible place, awesome vibe and good drinks. They just need to rotate the monkeys jaw around.

Edit: Revising my review after some recent bad experiences with the bouncers asking for $100 to get in while letting their friends cut the lines . Used to be one of my favorite places but feel like it has gone downhill recently. Fig 19 is the BEST. It’s a subtle speakeasy to the left of Home Sweet Home. So subtle that often times people don’t realize it’s a bar (no signage out front and the enterance room is dark) and get in line for Home Sweet Home. It’s generally quick to get in but still comfortably crowded inside. The bartenders are super nice and mix some absolutely delicious drinks. The interior is beautifully decorated, the lighting is just right, and they have a live DJ that’s always playing great music. There’s also free self-serve water. Would recommend this place times a thousand, arguably one of the best bars in NYC.

Yelp
I'm super happy we stumbled upon this place! For context, I was celebrating a friends birthday next door at the potluck club and came for drinks right before. We had a great time and wanted to see if Fig 19 can spontaneously handle a small party of 10 later that night and they were able to squeeze us in with a corner table 9:15pm. Shout out to Nicole. My group stayed for a few hours and really enjoyed the DJ - the vibes, the drinks, the music and the dance was solid. Really good crowd and atmosphere too. From the cocktail menu, I recommend the Prince!
google avatar

Yelp
I came b/c I saw the chandeliers and thought... so pretty. LOL Who knew that a picture could make me want to try this hidden gem. I met a friend for birthday drinks on a random Friday after a long week. We had a few cocktails and I wad not disappointed. My cocktails of choice were of course gin based, the rose selavy and the prince. I'm a fan of a great gin cocktail. Especially when the bartender is equally excited about the drink too. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area!

Yelp
Came here once some time ago. I thought it was so cool that it was tucked behind a door inside the gallery. When I walked up I was so unsure if this was a good spot to go (I was just following my friend). There were people lining up along the wall of a dimly lit gallery. The inside was absolutely packed when we got in and the music was loud. It was lounge bar and club vibes all at the same time. Some people were sitting enjoying their drinks at tables and everyone else was lined up along the bar ordering drinks while the rest of the crowd found an open space to stand. My friend and I ended up next to two other guys who had also arrived as a pair. We made small talk with them then quickly left because it was too loud and packed in there. The two guys were also a little quirky for our tastes. Overall the place was cool but not my vibe and the crowd is interesting. I came by here again recently on a date. The door to the speakeasy was completely open and we could see in from the main gallery door. We walked straight in. It was odd to hear music playing so loudly with so few people inside (some sitting at the bar and some at tables). We were looking for more of a lounge so we left. After two experiences here I'm not sure I would return although I am tempted to try some of their specialty drinks after seeing all the good reviews about them. I'd come back if a friend wanted to try it, that's why I gave it 3 stars.

Yelp
This speakeasy was the last stop on our tour, and it did not disappoint. All the drinks looked terrific, but I took my chances with the Polly Jean, and I was positively elated. It was bubbly, refreshing, and beautifully decorated. The bathrooms were clean, the service staff was helpful and knowledgeable.

Yelp
This was a cool speakeasy to go to, for a Friday night where the original plans fell through it was a really fun time and not hard to get into last minute. It's neat to walk in via the art gallery. We got confused with the lines and the longer one was actually for a club next door. It's up the stairs not down. The place is nice and classy and a good date spot for a little later in as it's loud. There was a fun DJ and the cocktails were good. It's a social vibe with some dancing and people talk to each other. My drink was frothy, floral and herbal which was interesting with the cinnamon flavor. Plus it's pink and cute :) I'd go again.

Yelp
Walk in past the empty gallery to the back left door and enter this beautiful speak easy bar. The atmosphere is lovely and got some funky decor. Drinks are expensive as to be expected. Great cocktails!

Yelp
Super cool concept. The bar is through a back door of a neat art gallery. The service was fine - we didn't say much to the staff outside of what drink we wanted (which is fine). The drinks were great. I ordered the Prince and it was a beautiful floral drink.
google avatar

Yelp
I like the ambiance and it has a nice aroma inside. The drinks were decent. The service was great, they are friendly and helpful. I will be back when I am in the area.

Yelp
A friend of mine booked a table for Fig 19, which made me super relieved as I walked in. Group of 6 that may have grown to 10 as friends of friends came in. At 9pm, it was fairly crowded. By the time I left at 11:30, there was a huge line outside. Objectively speaking, music was decent with some early 2000's throwback mixed with today's popular songs. It's played loudly and conversations are hard to have. For drinks, I got the Rhapsody on the and Polly Jean. The combined ingredients of both were not what I imagined but the alcohol does hit you after a while. A good experience, though not particularly my style.

Yelp
FIG. 19 is a RACIST place. Incredibly rude service, full with aggressions: 1. Their manager accused us for not paying even though I had closed the tab; 2. They gave my credit card to another Asian lady to sign the bill probably because they couldn't not distinguish among Asians; 3. No explanation nor apology after the whole thing sorted out, instead their manager had their security to escort out. Tonight I went with 4 of my other friends who are also Asian women for drinks at their place. We started at the bar to order our drinks and I gave them my credit card to close the tab. A bit later, they offered us a table so we gladly moved over. When we had our drinks and ready to leave, their manager stopped us and accusing us for not paying. And that's when I realized that they had never gave my credit card back. I was panicking since losing a credit card could be a huge inconvenience. Instead of helping, their manager refused to answer any question I had about where my credit card went and 1) requested to see my credit card transaction to prove to them that we paid; 2) demanded to go thought friends and my personal belongings to look for the credit card; 3) kept saying that because we were under alcohol influence (I meant we were in a bar ‍) we were making misjudgments. Every time I was trying to communicate with the manager and figure out what happened to my credit card, the manager told me to "stop yelling" and had the security standing next to us to rush us out. 30 minutes later, the staff who actually handled our billing eventually showed up and told us that he had returned a card to a blonde Asian girl and that's how he closed the tab. We had paid our bill in full on the first place, but their staff gave MY credit card to another Asian girl in my group probably because they were not able to distinguish us, and assumed she were me and closed the tab. At the end, not only we were not able to get ANY explanation nor apology for this whole mistreatment, but also the manager had the security to escort us out even though we did nothing wrong and we were the victims of their staff' and manager's incapability.

Yelp
Fig 19 is a speakeasy hidden inside an art gallery on Chrystie street. I was very excited to try this place. The vibes inside are absolutely amazing. You can get a reservation in advance and they'll put a name card on a couch table (which I thought was so cute!). If not, you can just walk-in and hang out by the bar. I feel like this is a great spot to go with friends before/after a night out for a good cocktail. I wouldn't stay for more than an hour since they do not offer any food. Fries or some type of finger food would have been a great addition! At least that's my feedback - I feel like no cocktail bar is complete without at least some food to hold you over. I tried the Rose Selavy and the Prince. Rose Selavy: I'm the biggest fan of rose syrup so when I saw that on the menu... It had to be ordered. The drink tasted sweet but not too sweet as the cucumber and lemon made it on the fresher side. Absolutely delicious. Would get again. 10/10. The Prince: I was excited to try this drink because it's one of the first time I tasted actual herbs de provence in a drink. This was so so good and I absolutely loved it. If you like a fresher, lemony, *seasoned* drink, this one is for you.

Yelp
Such a cute speakeasy hidden behind an art gallery! Came here for drinks after dinner and the ambiance was elegant but cozy. We were able to snag a table before the crowds of people came in around 8pm. Drinks were wonderful! This is definitely one of those places that makes New York New York.
google avatar

Vivian L.

Yelp
This place has been on my list for a while and we were at another bar in the area so we decided to check it out before heading to dinner. The entrance was at the back of a purple lit room - definitely would have walked right past it if I didn't know what we were looking for. I loved that the entrance was a bit hidden; it completes the whole speakeasy experience. We went around 7pm on a Sunday night and there was no line. We got seated immediately at the bar and the bartender was super attentive. Wasn't sure where to start for the drinks, but the bartender gave us a few recommendations and substituted it with the type of alcohol we prefer. We both enjoyed the drinks we had and overall, enjoyed the vibes here. Would definitely come back here again!

Yelp
Luck brought us to this spot tonight and we are a happy bunch. Tucked away inside an art gallery you will find this little spot. Cocktail menu was fun and full of new experiences. We sampled a few and every one was a delight. Music is a bit loud, but you kids will love it.
google avatar

Vince P.

Yelp
Hidden location, I walked around the block a few times trying to find the Art Gallery entrance. If you can find some neon lights, there's a decent chance you're walking into the right gallery and the Entrance for the Fig 19 is in the back corner. My friends were running late, and they were able to accommodate me being there while I waited for them... The whole time, I was vibing really well with the atmosphere, from the music to the staff. I even got 2 drinks in before my friends were able to make it in. All the drinks were delicious, not too strong but perfectly balanced. There isn't any food options here, so be prepared to grab dinner at another spot. Luckily, there's plenty of options surrounding Fig 19! @phidingthefam
google avatar

Vicki C.

Yelp
Hidden behind an art gallery is the popular speakeasy @fig19nyc , with beautiful cocktails and the alcohol is a bit stronger than what I usually would get in other places. The setting was nice and cozy but there weren't that many seats so many had to stand and chat. The music was very loud so it had more of a bar vibe than an usual speakeasy, and people just kind of danced and jammed by the bar.
google avatar

Katerina R.

Yelp
Hidden, all you need to do is follow the colorful neon light and you'll find the entrance! (And if you can't, just ask one of the businesses right below or nearby). This is a cute hidden bar. The decor is luxurious and the staff were friendly. The vibes were more chill. I'm more of an upbeat bar kind of gal so that was slightly disappointing. I got the midnight in Paris and it was a decent cocktail! My friend got the Chinatown daiquiri and also thought it was good but nothing spectacular. Given the low vibes and the somewhat good drinks, I personally wouldn't return. There are so many bars in NY to check out!
google avatar

Connie C.

Yelp
When the lights of the art gallery turn off, head to the back left corner and push open the door to Fig. 19. While it's a bit eclectic inside with the Victorian interior, it is overall still classy enough. The bar allows for standing space, so it can accommodate for a bit more people than you think. As for the drinks, the menu was pretty limited. I wasn't blown away by the drinks I got either. I had The Learner and The Ginger Sling. I think my friends enjoyed their drinks more. They tried Rose Selavy, Polly Jean, and Chinatown Daiquiri. Still, I had a great time catching up with friends. Plus, we were able to walk in at 6:20PM on a Saturday and easily grab seats at the bar. How simple.
google avatar

Jackie K.

Yelp
Highly recommend a reservation. The place was packed all night. A reservation got us a table. Only a few drink options. The drinks came with some table snacks like popcorn and some salted crunch things. We had several drinks and they were all presented beautifully and very good. The music was quite loud. A romantic place for a date. Waitress was attentive and super nice.
google avatar

Lingxiao C.

Yelp
Ah, my long-time favorite speakeasy. Always had good luck here - was able to get a seat every time I dropped in. That said, really happy to see that they're accepting reservations now. I first had the Midnight in Paris, which had a sweet profile though didn't turn out to be too sweet as the chocolate bits were subtle. Then I tried the 19 Hundred, which was lit. If you enjoy drinks with strong spices, you'll enjoy this drink. Service was great! Just a bit sad to see that the gallery was completely empty; it used to have actual art. Not sure if this is a temporary situation post-Covid. Hopefully they'll bring back the gallery as well!

Yelp
Great spot to kick off the night - mixed crowd but overall on the younger side. Place gets pretty loud around 8:30 from music + people. It's a beautifully decorated and dimly lit place. On the smaller side so people do end up standing near the bar. Drinks are well made and bartenders are nice. This would be a great place for an early date or to kick off the night.

Yelp
I was SO happy to find this place. We found it on a whim and it was very random but we went early and got a table before it got busy. The drinks were very good and when we left they had a whole DJ and it was filling up but looked like a great time! It's definitely hard to find so look out for the bouncers outside to direct you! Loved it!!

Ethan P.

Yelp
Cocktails and ambiance were great. Just a warning, it's super difficult to find this place (which I actually kind of like because it adds to the vibe). It's on ground level...not downstairs!! We ended up sitting down and getting drinks at a bar down a staircase because we thought it was fig 19 and then a couple came and sat down next to us and asked the bartender if it was fig 19 and he said it wasn't and that it was upstairs
google avatar

Ashley P.

Yelp
Heard about this via TikTok. It was easy to find and walked through a completely empty gallery o get to the back part. Was hoping it would have had some fake art on display at least. It was pretty empty on a Wednesday night when we went around 9pm. The servers were only behind the bar and we ordered from them. The drinks we got left a lot to be desired. We ended up leaving after one cocktail each as it was a bit pricey for what we were getting. Cute decor and loved the faux fireplace with candles, but overall probably won't be back.
google avatar

Jenny C.

Yelp
This is such an amazing place to go after gallery hopping as you are the one entering a gallery speakeasy. It could be deceiving at first since it's so dark inside the gallery part but you'll be greeted to a warm place with dim lit lighting once you get inside. Drinks are super tasty and worth the price! Super comfy chairs as well.
google avatar

Rena Y.

Yelp
great little speakeasy with perfect level of music and ambiance for conversations rhapsody in rye was pretty good
google avatar

Prerna T.

Yelp
For me the best part about this place is the first time we went, we just happened to be in the area and were looking for a place to go after dinner, and stumbled upon it. We didn't even know it was a speakeasy or that there was anything there. It looks like a small art gallery from the outside and is a swanky cocktail lounge on the inside. As the evening develops it goes from a nice cozy cocktail bar to a pseudo nightclub. I can't remember the cocktails we had but I remember them all being good (have had a few since we have been here twice), so you likely can't go wrong with whatever you get!
google avatar

Selena Y.

Yelp
What a cool, unassuming speakeasy. Step inside to "tour" the art gallery and make your way towards the door in the back to enter - even though there wasn't any art displaying on the day I went, it was still a fun experience walking through and discovering the bar! The speakeasy itself is trendy, lively, and dimly lit. The music was VERY loud on the Friday night I went (making it difficult to talk with friends), but the space wasn't as crowded as some other people had warned. The standing area is actually quite spacious, and we only had to wait a few minutes for a table to free up. I ordered the Vanishing Point (vanilla bean, cinnamon infused gin, lemon, agave, egg white, sea salt), and it was like I was sipping on a glass of autumn. I loved it - it almost reminded me of a PSL with the sweet, cinnamon-y flavors but without the pumpkin. I also love egg white so this drink hit the spot for me! Overall, a fun place for a drink (can't beat the unique hidden entrance), but probably not somewhere I'd spend a whole night due to how loud the music was. Regardless, I'll definitely be coming back to try more!
google avatar

Josephine L.

Yelp
Easily one of the best speakeasies in the city, not least of which because it's still pretty under the radar and doesn't generally make the "Best of" lists that tend to ruin other establishments. Try the following: - Blackberry Margarita - jalapeño infused tequila, triple sec, blackberry pureé, fresh lime, angostura bitters - Rhapsody in Rye - rosemary infused rye whiskey, ginger syrup, campari, fresh grapefruit, sea salt - Vanishing Point - vanilla bean and cinnamon infused gin, fresh lemon, agave, egg white, sea salt - The Standoff - mezcal, pear brandy, agave, sherry, fresh lime Of the four, I'd say the Vanishing Point was the best. Gotta love freshly extracted vanilla bean mixed with warm spices.

Yelp
Amazing!! Please go see Sarah she is unquestionably the best bartender I've ever met! Its a must go secret bar. Complete your NY experience here :)

Yelp
This has been on my list for a while so finally had the chance to try it today. It's behind an empty-ish art gallery, so it's hidden away behind a door. Their cocktails are really well made and the ambiance is great. Seating is a bit tight but we were able to find seating eventually. The place got pretty crowded towards 8:30/9 PM. We got the Rose Selavy, 19 Hundred, and The Prince. All 3 were amazing! I would definitely visit again.
google avatar

Emily P.

Yelp
Cool speakeasy with amazing decor/ambiance. Love the Prosecco on tap and the cocktails all looked delish! Did get fairly crowded but was a great time! Will return.
google avatar

Andy Y.

Yelp
Honestly this is my go to spot and go to speakeasy lol Interior: Cool secret door within a art gallery type of location. Open up and say whoa. Inside it seems small but there is enough space in my opinion and try to get a table if you can. Drinks: Any of the drinks I have had here are both strong and good so try it out! Overall: Just a dope spot to show your friends a not so touristy speakeasy, won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Walk to Chinatown, bar #4 with a Speakeasy tour to Fig 19. Got what i was looking for ...Now this was more Speakeasy/hidden door in a wall/ totally cool I kinda nerded out. Sharp decor and chill bartenders. A bit larger than the other spots I've been to. I just can't get over the hidden door in the wall ....loved it. My drink was perfectly made...cannot wait to return for more.
google avatar

Allison W.

Yelp
Love this little quiet gem - great atmosphere, reasonable (for NY) prices and creative cocktails. We stopped in at 6pm on a Wednesday and had the place basically to ourself. The bartender was super helpful, was able to provide detail about all the cocktails and was super attentive the entire time during our visit. I loved that they had a balanced menu that had a drink for anyone regardless of their spirit of choice! And of course - any "hidden" spot always has a bit of extra fun to it. This bar you walk through a small art gallery before walking through a very anonymous white door in the back corner.
google avatar

Thom H.

Yelp
Fig 19 is a fun space, we liked the taxidermy. Wasn't too crowded, & a small bar so not hard to catch the bartender's attention. Just upstairs from Home Sweet Home, so you could get a nice cocktail at Fig. 19, then follow with a Natty Light downstairs (liquor before beer etc.). I'm kinda neutral about the speakeasy aspect, it's been done so much now that it doesn't feel novel, but the art gallery you walk through is nice, so there's that.
google avatar

Alyssa J.

Yelp
Enjoyed my first time here this month, awesome DJ! It's not that hidden there's a line outside to get in - the front art gallery area is cute and dark. The whole environment is dark but good vibes. Went on Friday at 10pm and it was packed shoulder to shoulder. Drinks were mixed well
google avatar

Angela L.

Yelp
I love love love the interior of this place. When you come in you enter someplace that looks like an art gallery. And there's a door in the back that leads to the actual cocktail bar. Just the art itself is pretty cool to stand and take some pictures w/. The bar gets pretty packed on a weekend night but you probably be more comfortable if you are there on a weekday night. The cocktails are delicious and are pretty unique. There is a decent amount of seating but like I said, it gets pretty packed. Come around 8pm on a weekend if you want a seat before the crowd comes.
google avatar

Pheabe C.

Yelp
Been on my list for a long time. The entrance is easily missed if you aren't paying attention. You can really only tell because there's a bouncer outside this dimly lit seemingly empty room. You walk inside and it's an art gallery with a bunch of paintings on the wall. There's a white door at the very end on the left side of the wall. Walk inside and it's a whole different vibe. Love that true speakeasy entrance! (See my video for a entrance spoiler). The music selection was great, they were playing old throwback hip hop/pop/rap songs. It was a solid variety. I'll say if you're having a more "turn up" kind of evening, this is a great place to go. I did see a few couples trying to have date nights which this is definitely not the place if you wanted a more quiet lounge feel. You can't really have conversation over the music here. My friends band I were all dancing to the music but most people were just doing the usual stand and sway moves. Bartenders were nice but the drinks were hit/miss. I especially liked Night Moves, love the mescal kick to a traditional mojito. I was not a fan of the Blackberry Margherita, completely tequila forward which with the jalapeno infusion was a bit too much. Fun place to go for the novelty concept but I wouldn't likely go again except for a larger group of friends.
google avatar

Tanya L.

Yelp
I love a surprise! It was wonderful to walk into a gallery space full with beautiful pieces to view and discuss but then you keep walking and you enter a low light old-school lounge with a full bar and ceiling dripping with crystal chandeliers. The music was pleasant until the in house dj turned up the heat around 10 pm. I had a mezcal ginger beer cocktail which was delicious!
google avatar

Laura S.

Yelp
Amazing cocktails! First of all, the gallery that this speakeasy is located behind is so cute! Actually some pretty cool pieces and a simple, small space. Decor of the inside is very cute as well. I got the vanishing point and rose selavy cocktails $14 a piece. Both were absolutely amazing! The vanishing point had a vanilla bean and cinnamon flavor that I was scared would be too sweet and overpowering, but it wasn't at all! The rose selavy was very refreshing and light.

Yelp
a very special find. got a last word, and it was delicious. great ambiance. a classic speakeasy. loved it

Yelp
Man this place is eerie at first...like dusty Victorian meets the porn music from 8MM. Walk through an art gallery and open the narrow door in the back left corner, and you'll find a cool secret oasis of cocktails and comfy furniture that immediately reminded me of Ranstead Room in Philadelphia. The cocktails here are fantastic. Vanishing Point and Midnight in Paris were both fantastic, and for $13 apiece, they were well worth it. Bartenders are friendly yet professional, and the experimental/trip hop music lends to a curious ambiance that'll have you coming back for certain.

Yelp
Atmosphere (5/5) Drinks (3/5) Love this hidden spot - walk through a modern art gallery to find a nondescript door in the back (but the noise emanating from the wall will give it away). Snagged a seat at the bar and the bartender helped us to choose what drinks we'd like best. Super friendly bartenders and interesting cocktail menu. This is the perfect date spot - live DJ in the corner but not too loud that you can't hear yourself speak, with cozy couches. Was not terribly impressed with my drink. Very boozy drinks, didn't use great liquor either. Would come back here for the atmosphere, but will probably stick to beer - which is a shame because the menu looks tasty!

Yelp
A second floor speakeasy behind a gallery even though they were in between installations when I was there . An upscale crowd Friendly with a 6 foot two bartender called Dante a real sweet guy. Better to go early or super late because it gets crowded . All in all a great vibe.

Yelp
Went for a birthday celebration. The drinks were amazing and so was the service. The place was surprisingly modern for a speakeasy. We loved it!

Yelp
What a fun date night! I honestly had no clue what the plan was and having that mysterious yet unpretentious feeling was a thrill. It was midweek around 9pm and the bouncer carded us at the door. I had no idea that we were going to an art gallery with walls as white as snow. I was told they usually have more art and decor showcased but must be doing a little change up that night. To my surprise, that little door towards the left side which was completely camouflaged (white on white) was the door to the chandelier filled, semi rustic style, prohibition era-like, lounge sofa and chair spaced, candle lit speakeasy atmosphere. We were lucky to have gotten a comfy seat (the only one left at 9pm!) that was not at the bar area, which I prefer. The mixologists were friendly and efficient, it was fun to watch them get creative with the drinks and also people watch a bit from our seats. Each drink was around $13 and we had 5-6 drinks, so yes it can get pricey but well worth it. The Vanishing Point (vanilla bean and cinnamon infused gin, fresh lemon juice, agave, egg white, sea salt), prosecco on tap (you can even add a flavored syrup to it), and Rhapsody in Rye (rosemary infused rye, ginger syrup, campari, fresh grapefruit juice, sea salt) were all very good. The music was moderately loud during the night but we were still able hold conversation no problem, bathrooms are not gender-specific but sanitary. It was never too crowded and can easily become one of my favorites when in the LES. Overall a really nice and unpretentious speakeasy well suited for date night or small group gatherings!
