Came here for DineLA dinner on Friday night, and it was such a wonderful experience. There’s no self-parking, so you’ll have to valet or take an Uber.
We sat in the lounge area by the bar and the DJ, and it was so cozy and comfy with plush chairs and bench seating. I loved the tunes the DJ spun, especially when The Girl From Ipanema—one of my all time favs—came on.
Great atmosphere, kind of a classy casual with lovely foliage and bright lights throughout.
I got the La Vie En Rose signature cocktail, and it was sweet and fruity with lovely dried rosebud garnishes.
The Signature Crostini was the highlight of my meal, and totally worth the $9 supplement. You could choose from a huge selection, and my favorite was surprisingly the beef tartar. So tender and delicate with the nice crunch of toast.
The mushroom croquette was highly recommended, and I liked the truffle flavor but it was quite heavy and greasy for my taste.
The truffle risotto was really good, but I was slightly disappointed by the filet mignon. “Medium” came pretty done on the edges. Maybe I should go for medium rare next time to get more redness.
Brûléed cheesecake was good, but the pot de crème was even better. The milk chocolate had a slight bitterness that I would attribute to darker chocolate, and it complemented the rich creaminess of the dessert.
