"Fig & Farro, the vegetarian/vegan restaurant inside Calhoun Square announced on Sunday that it would close May 31. The restaurant opened in the winter of 2017 with ambitious plans to combat global climate through delicious vegetable dishes. After struggling a bit in its early days, a few changes to staffing found Fig & Farro hitting its sweet spot with a beloved brunch, and a family friendly vibe. The closure announcement on Facebook alluded to the sweeping closures affecting restaurants thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. “With uncertainty of when we can reopen our dining room safely, we have decided to turn our mission of food and climate into a foundation.” Minnesota’s state governor closed all restaurants and bars as gathering places March 17. June 1 restaurants with patios will begin to be able to re-open, with restrictions. Fig & Farro continues to be open and serving take out and delivery through next Sunday. After that, the owners will begin building a new foundation to continue its mission." - Joy Summers

"Fig and Farro is now open inside Uptown’s Calhoun Square serving vegetarian cuisine in a beautifully refinished room. The space has a dark, slate blue and pops of rich colors like maroon and gold, along with plenty of green plants. The menu takes inspiration from global flavors, offering dishes like shakshuka, hummus, and lentil curries, served family-style. Prices are moderate, with entrees under $20. Fig + Farro is open 11am to 9pm Monday through Friday, 10am to 9pm Saturday and Sunday." - Joy Summers

Amazing vegetarian restaurant! If you are looking for a top notch vegetarian restaurant, do not leave the area without coming here. I ordered the Truffle Risotto and it was outstanding. It's made with risotto, a king oyster mushroom steak, red wine jus, and shaved hazelnut. Yes, it tastes just as good as it sounds! My friend who is not a vegetarian ordered the Lasagna and absolutely loved it. I had a taste of it and that sauce was on point! The only bad part about the restaurant is that they don't have one in Chicago where I live! Not only was the food good but the ambiance was very inviting. My server, Gemma (spelling?) seemed like she was happy to work there. She was super nice and attentive.

I love Fig + Farro! Great selection for vegans; the menu doesn't lean too far toward imitation meat (something I don't care for). I've only been for brunch and I've enjoyed the burrito, the blueberry french toast, the blueberry cinnamon roll, the flannel hash, and the breakfast sammie! The space is really hip and has a fun vibe. Big windows too!

I would recommend visiting fig and farro. The food is good and the service is quick and friendly. I ordered the buffalo cauliflower which was crispy and delicious. I also had the mushroom stroganoff which was great, I would definitely order it again. The non alcoholic drinks were also tasty. The only reason I deducted a star was because the desserts weren’t good. The server told us that they now outsource their desserts. I had the creme brûlée and would not recommend it. The texture was off. Also, as a heads up, if you park in the ramp the restaurant will validate your parking for you.

My friends and I attended a Pairs Well With event at Fig + Farro and I have never been so delightfully full in my life. (Okay, I maybe was a little TOO full, but everything was so good, I couldn't stop eating). I am very sensitive to gluten, dairy, and soy, and they went above and beyond to make sure they accommodated everything and that I could eat safety. Including DESSERT. I never get to have dessert at restaurants! It was a lovely evening and I can't wait to go back.

I have been dining at Fig and Farro since they opened in January. The options have changed over the months and they recently launched their summer menu. My favorite items will always be the cheesy shells and brussels sprouts. They have done a great job on developing their desserts ... kinda mediocre in the beginning. The price point is a bit on the expensive side but it's worth it for a plant based restaurant. I love what they are doing, the food is great and the staff is always pleasant.

Wow! Last minute decision to stop at Fig and Farro. Started with a Extra Buzz and Mimosa that we’re very good! Ordered up the Biscuits and Gravy with meatless sausage and the Favorite Flannel Hashbrowns. They were delicious tasting entrees and a wonderful presentation and representation of other dishes we saw. They also have a brunch buffet if you have a big appetite! Fig and Farro is a plant based restaurant with a mission to fight climate change! Fighting deforestation by planing a tree for every guest at their restaurant!

Very nice clean vegan restaurant with good food and great staff. Sometimes it's hard in the city to check all the boxes and this place did it for me. Had the Brunch buffet (well worth the 24$) We will be back.

I’ve been here for brunch, lunch and dinner and everything I’ve had has never disappointed. The cinnamon bun they have for brunch is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever tasted. The service has always been amazing every time we’ve gone in. My only complaint is that it’s a little on the pricey side but the food and service stacks up for the price and it’s uptown so I can’t really count it as a con 🤷🏻‍♀️
