Fig tree is a cute little restaurant. The food was okay, the potato’s were dry and the eggs Benedict were good but nothing extraordinary. Our server was pretty bad, she kept forgetting about refilling our drinks and quite frankly, she wasn’t very nice. The atmosphere It’s really cute!

Google
Nice little place for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. very cute and quaint atmosphere with decent food. we ate her twice during our trip because it was close to our hotel and a place my husband liked when he lived here. the first time I got the salmon bagel which I thought was just okay, then we came back because we wanted to try the apple fritter pancakes. we got the sampler with those, lemon ricotta, and fig jam French toast. the apple fritter pancakes weren't as good as I thought they would be but I think I liked the lemon ones the most. they used really fluffy thick bread for the French toast which was really good.

We stopped in here for breakfast during our visit to San Diego. They have a lively warm atmosphere. We got seated indoors quickly after arriving. We had a party of four and ordered a variety of meals. All of our meals were delicious and full of flavor. The staff was very nice and attentive. The Mimosas were refreshing. Overall, we had a great dinning experience.

Google
3.5⭐️ Another pretty Breakfast spot! We wanted to find a good breakfast place, we are never awake for breakfast, so this is when I really read/rely on people's Google reviews for help. They had great reviews, and what looked like a giant Hot Chocolate. I was sold. I got a hot chocolate, and a breakfast sausage sandwich with avocado. Loved my hot chocolate, and the sandwich was good, average. My husband got the meatloaf hash, and he said it was not super flavorful, but he felt like he ate healthy. I loved the way the restaurant was decorated. I can see why this is a good brunch place. If you are in the PB area, I would recommend it for an appetizer, beverage, and pictures.

We showed up around 9am on a Saturday and were seated straight away. The server was super nice and helpful with the menu. I ordered a chai latte with almond milk and the vegan strawberry lemon French toast. My friend got the steak and eggs. First: thank you for having vegan French toast!!! Second: vegan aside, that French toast was quite possibly the best I've ever had. 🍓🍋 Heaven! My friend loved her steak and eggs and said the steak had an amazing flavor plus the tomato chimichurri was a great addition. We sat outdoors in the sun and stayed about 50 minutes total. I would for sure return here again!

Google
The short rib eggs Benedict was absolutely amazing. I got it on focaccia and the texture combination was great. Make sure to upgrade your potatoes!!!

Google
Great brunch spot! Very cute cafe and good ambiance. Tried quite a few brunch dishes and they were all nice, highly recommend the eggs benedict and the fig jam French toast. Would have been a 5 star but they slyly ask to add Avacados to any dish and charge $2.5 for a tiny serving of avocado on the side which is not even specified on the menu, I hate it when places trick people like that. But still everything else was really good.

Google
Very good breakfast sandwich surprisingly. The sausage was very juicy and flavorful. Eggs were also very fresh. Their namesake french toast was also excellent.

Yelp
Great breakfast and now a great full bar. This is a hidden gem here in San Diego, don't tell anyone. I lived a block away from this place and have seen it grow to the unique breakfast/brunch experience that it is. The favorites: Man Candy! (bacon with brown sugar),meatloaf hash (hash with pesto), rosary potatoes

Yelp
Had breakfast here with my mom and her dog, which worked out perfectly because the patio is super dog-friendly. We grabbed a table outside--it's such a cute setup. Even though it's totally open-air, the trees and plants make it feel kind of tucked away and cozy. I ordered the chipotle chilaquiles and WOW. So good. The sauce had just the right amount of kick, and the chips stayed crispy--not that sad, soggy mess you sometimes get. My mom got the Benedict and liked it too, but I definitely won that round. Also had a honey lavender latte and now I'm obsessed--wish I had one right now honestly.

Yelp
The main entrance is gorgeous. The giant fig tree is enormous. Our server, Mark, was on top of everything. We ordered the french toast/pancake sampler with lemon ricotta pancakes, lemon strawberry french toast, and berry sweet french toast. It was delicious, especially the lemon strawberry french toast. My husband loved the crispy pork belly & grits. Thank you Mark for the recommendation. We tried a traditional breakfast, as well as the short rib sandwich. Our food runner, Axel, was super nice as well. The manager, Eva, and hostess, Maggie were also very friendly. The restrooms were clean also. We will definitely come back on our next visit.

Yelp
Reliable brunch spot :) my favorite part is probably the ambiance of their outdoor seating. Feels like you're in a tree! lol. I've been a couple of times, and I'll say their egg breakfast dishes are average. Nothing amazing but no complaints. What I had for the first time though was their crispy pork belly with Gouda grits... OMG. I did feel my arteries being clogged by the dish but it was fabulous. Really makes me want to try more of their niche dishes. Their breakfast drinks/lattes are really good to me...but the coffee drinker I was with said their latte barely tasted like coffee but it was a yummy dessert just fyi. Also my chai flavor was good but it was almost room temperature when it arrived.

Yelp
Great patio with heaters so it was very cozy. Service was quick. Got a table right away on a Saturday morning. Loved the Benedict and breakfast burrito. Will be back!!

Yelp
Cute and delicious brunch spot! Perfect to sit outside in the sun. My friend got the breakfast sandwich - the brioche bun was amazing. I got the veggie omelette, the goat cheese was a great addition. The gluten free toast was not my favorite, a bit too thin and crispy. The chai latte is a must! Service was quick and friendly. We'll be back!

Yelp
I can't believe I snoozed on my review for this spot! Despite the mixed reviews and the inconvenient parking, it's still a great place to mingle or go solo. I like this specific location for the following reasons: - It's very feminine yet welcoming to all. I feel like an enchanted albeit probably hungover fairy whenever I eat breakfast here because the patio is situated beneath a beautiful tree. In fact, I'm thinking of making up Mother's Day brunch here soon because it's the perfect mix of chic and lowkey. Perfect for all the moms at any age--messy buns, no makeup, leggings, or all done up! - The food has a homemade quality and I've never been disappointed. - Service was always standard for me without anything to complain about. - I'm currently daydreaming about their arugula truffle potatoes. I've even recreated them at home a few times but nothing beats getting out and having a friendly person serve them to you while you're enjoying a morning outside of your pjs. I live in southeast San Diego and I don't mind driving and circling for parking here once in a while. I will admit that this location is more pedestrian-friendly because it's situated in a way that's best accessed by locals, but it's a cute location and I prefer it over the others so Fig Tree PB... I choose you *big hand heart*.

Yelp
Oh my gosh excellent service! We got sat down right away and we had a party of eight people around 10 o'clock. I was expecting to come and have to wait but absolutely no way in the status in the back under the tree, which was absolutely amazing. Angie was our server and she was absolutely amazing very attentive. Absolutely love that she could hear my daughter's Mexican accent, and spoke to her in Spanish. She was so friendly and thoughtful and very helpful and patient with our party. Food was absolutely amazing big portions, which I absolutely loved and everything came out fresh and hot.

Yelp
This place is super cute with lots of outdoor seats. Really good Bloody Mary and the food here is also really good. I got the breakfast sandwich and the bread was perfectly toasted and the flavor was super balanced. Would definitely come back and get this again. Only critique is that the food came out super slow. I was almost done with my drink before the food came out. But besides the slow service our server was super friendly and we got seated super quick and the food came out hot and super delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
Had a delicious brunch here. The decor is so cute and immersive, there are plants everywhere which I love. We got the chipotle chilaquiles and the short rib Benedict. The service was a little slow, but I think only one waitress was working.
google avatar

Alena H.

Yelp
What a cute spot! They have private rooms where you can sit outside and have your own little mimosa bar. All of the food in the group looked delicious. I just got the American breakfast which was simple yet tasty. But LOOK at this man candy Bloody Mary I got I ate the bacon before the picture because it was just too good. I also got the regular which was still pretty spicy if you don't love spice FYI. But SO GOOD.

Ashley L.

Yelp
I've been to this location about 6x in hopes that the service would improve because I love the food and the ambiance. Unfortunately, I'm out of attempts and will not be coming back due to the slow service. I often don't get my drinks till after I've eaten half my meal, or I get my drinks and the food takes forever to arrive. I always come on a weekday morning, so perhaps they're under staffed during those times. Even just a server offering to take my coffee off of the bill because it came so late would have likely prevented me from writing this review. Hopefully things can change because I would love to come back and have more reliable experiences.

Yelp
Great outdoor seating, wonderful food choices, tastes as good as the menu states, love the service. Sometimes wait times are long, but that to be expected for really good food. Try the lavender latte!
google avatar

Monica L.

Yelp
Very cute cafe with cozy wooden covered outdoor area! Nice lights and decor and casual ambiance. Servers were very friendly and kind! The drinks came quickly, food took a bit but must meant it was fresh! The rose latte was very nice and had good balance of coffee and rose flavor. Got the traditional Benedict, the focaccia was nicely toasted, the egg yolk was runny and the potatoes were nice and crispy. Hoped there'd be a bit more flavor but filling and solid meal!
google avatar

Yelp
This is by far my favorite restaurant in the United States lol I miss living in San Diego so every chance I get to visit this is my first stop. It was my b day and the staff was amazing and made sure I had the best experience!
google avatar

Yelp
Surprising went around 10am and it wasn't jam packed. The food is good but I was disappointed with the coffee. When it first arrived there were the dregs from the bottom of the pot. I asked for a new cup and I'm pretty sure my waitress gave me the exact same cup... When the new cup arrived my companion said it looks like spices so maybe that's their blend, so I drank it. Surely enough by the end I knew it was just the bottom of the barrel. At the end the waitress asks if I would like a refill and I said no. She reminds me it's endless refills and I'm still saying no but my companion asked for a cup to go. No coffee bits in their cup... but they didn't like it and asked for me to bring it in to throw it away. Also, make it make sense they charge $3 for man candy on the standard breakfast but only .75 more on the sides cost...

Yelp
Food: I am vegan. The savory options were incredible; I am not a sweets eater. I loved the food so much that I went back the following day. My expectations were exceeded. Service: Honestly, the service was great, once they acknowledged that I was waiting for a table. It took at least 20 minutes. It wasn't even busy. If I had not been there with a group, I would likely have left. This is an area for improvement. Ambiance: Love the ambiance. Once things got rolling, it was a pleasant experience.
google avatar

Yelp
Late review, was going through old food photos and was reminded that I didn't review this place! I do not typically order grits but somehow decided to order the crispy pork and grits dish. I was on vacation in the area, and this was right down the street from where I was staying. Very big surfer vibes, so SD. Great vibes, except I remember there were a few flies that just would not leave me alone. Still I remember these buttery savory grits were amazing! Definitely recommend the grits. The hibiscus lemonade was also delicious, and made for a great combo.
google avatar

Kandyce K.

Yelp
This is such a cute location. I came for breakfast right when they opened and it was such a great vibe sitting in the outdoor patio area. Service was great! She was attentive at just the right amount. I tried the fig and ricotta stuffed French toast and it was good but a little too sweet for me. I would love to come back and try something different - maybe a little more savory. Street parking only but there were quite a few options when I went. The surrounding residential area may have extra spots as well. I love this area as it's so close to the beach!
google avatar

Kathleen H.

Yelp
Cute place and not too crowded. However, we waited for almost 30 minutes for our breakfasts to arrive. We noticed that the waiters were not hustling food to the other patrons during that time either. When we were finally served our food, my husband's Traditional Benedict was room-temperature, which was absolutely unacceptable. The saving grace was the nice server who deducted the cost of the Benedict from our bill. Long wait times and room-temperature food is a management problem and lack of quality control.
google avatar

Jenny Y.

Yelp
Plenty of seating, service is super friendly, and the food is delicious. I love the outdoor patio, and it almost feels like you're in a treehouse. I ordered the grilled cheese and tomato basil soup which came with French fries. Yumm! Definitely recommend coming here!
google avatar

Daniel C.

Yelp
Not worth coming back. Don't understand the high ratings. Long wait for the food to arrive after ordering. They didn't even fulfill my order request when the food arrived. Portion sizes were smaller than expected.
google avatar

Jordan H.

Yelp
Service was great, burrito was great. Ordered some French toast to share but it ended up being way too much food on top of the burrito. We were happily stuffed.
google avatar

Danielle S.

Yelp
Super cute brunch spot with great food! Met up with a friend here and got to sit out near the front of the patio. Our server was really sweet and just the right amount of attentive. My husband and I split a breakfast burrito. It was delicious and super filling! The burrito was huge so definitely a shareable. Coffee & tea were great but they also have alcoholic beverages if you're looking for a more brunch-y vibe. Definitely check out Fig Tree if you're in the area!

Yelp
The coffee was really good! I went with my dad and the environment was peaceful and the patio was large and beautiful with all the greenery. My Huevos Rancheros was good but I didn't taste the ranchero sauce at all. Good beans and chips, though. I wish the service was better, my dad and I sat clearly finished and I had to get up and get the check.

Beto F.

Yelp
Service was great out Bar tender was a nice lady Called Pam she was great make our visit so great and recommend us a bottle of Brut all was great service food good definitely coming back!!!
google avatar

Yelp
I came here for brunch earlier today with three other girls. We got a seat in the patio back which in my opinion is the best place to sit. It was really busy so our server definitely was running around, but she tried her best to make sure we had everything we needed! We did have to ask a few times for a water cups to be filled up and stuff like that. I got the salmon Benedict and it was so good! I love the potatoes it came with. I think maybe they could've given you a little bit of extra salmon, but otherwise, it was really tasty!
google avatar

Diana L.

Yelp
Very cute restaurant. Parking isn't very good. It's in a residential location. The staff were very kind and friendly! I was hopeful for more options in the menu but it was very minimal. We all ended up getting the same type of dish. When going on a weekend, be prepared to wait as it was about a 35-45 min wait. The food overall was not spectacular...it was pretty expensive as well.
google avatar

Alexa F.

Yelp
Service was good but our dishes were a bit stale, especially the focaccia bread on the eggs Benedict. This place really used to be the IT spot and it's definitely not as great as it was. Ambiance is cute and fun though.
google avatar

Julia K.

Yelp
Omg - such a cool Brunch spot! Please get the breakfast burrito. It was sooooo good! Staff is so friendly and helpful. It started to rain and no questions asked, they moved us immediately. Cool and hip ambiance. Would probably only recommend when the weather is good enough to go there!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice brunch place we stopped by on the way back to LA. The decor gave a nice beach vibe and they were able to seat us right away. Ordered the crispy pork belly with grits, breakfast burrito, grilled turkey club and the Sausage breakfast sandwich. Also tried the Man Candy Bacon, essentially bacon coated with brown sugar and paprika, very good, it's a bacon meant for all people. All the food was great, especially the Crispy Pork and grits. Great fries and service was excellent.
google avatar

Yelp
We were staying nearby and heard Fig Tree was a good spot for breakfast so we thought we'd check it out. This is no ordinary breakfast restaurant! It's an indoor-outdoor dining situation with an open air interior and an outdoor patio that is covered. Very cool and unique concept, it felt like we were in Florida or Hawaii. The service was really friendly. I don't remember our server's name but we had many people waiting on us and they were all really attentive and nice. We started with an Iced Cold Brew and a Hot Mexican Mocha, which were both really impressive. The Entrees were also really good. My parents got the "American" breakfasts, which they enjoyed. I decided to branch out and try the Crispy Pork Belly with Grits. I thought it was a really cohesive dish. The presentation was stunning, the pork belly was soft, the grits were bursting with flavor, and the soy marinated boiled egg finished it off perfectly. I also ordered an order of "Man Candy", which is thick cut bacon with brown sugar and paprika. I thought it was delicious! We will definitely come back when visiting San Diego.

Yelp
Pacific Beach [Lack of] Service We took our time before writing this review. As adults, we learn patience. We might even master reflection. We certainly come to appreciate quality service. When it (quality service) doesn't exist, we should be able to constructively articulate why the review we offer is 0 - 1 star(s). By min 34, of waiting at the Fig Tree Cafe PB location, it was evident that the jars of water (slippery due to condensation) was all that would cover our tables for many more minutes to follow. We knew there was a problem by minute 20, when we looked around and realized that none of the seven (7) tables in our section had any food. The next observation was the standing, looking, and pacing, of one member of the party caddy-corner to ours. What we realized at minute 37, was that they had yet to be served. As we packed our things, the hostess began cutting checks and then taking orders. Four tables who were seated after us, had their orders taken. We chose not to stay for the aftermath but allow us to offer suggestions: 1 -If youre understaffed for the day, that is fine. Check in. 2 -Let the dozens of (potential) customers know that you know they are waiting. Assure them that you will be of service as soon as you can. 3- Don't ignore them. All/Anybof them. 4-Don't take delayed orders, out of order. It adds insult to injury. We wish you a better experience. Ps - "we heard" the food was excellent. But we wouldn't know.

Yelp
Had a great breakfast at Fig Tree Cafe! I ordered a fresh squeezed OJ (so good!) and the breakfast sandwich, and it was absolutely amazing--flavorful, fresh, and so satisfying. I also tried the coffee cake, which unfortunately had a small mishap, but the waitress was quick to replace it. The service was friendly, though the wait time for food was on the slower side. That said, the menu has so many delicious options that I'd definitely come back to try more. A cozy & cute spot with some room for improvement!

Yelp
Lovely little patio brunch spot. The food is great and the service was lovely! Lots of vegan/dairy-free options.
google avatar

Natalie C.

Yelp
A very cute brunch spot a little over half a mile from the water (it's a nice walk!). Menu is expansive and covers classic breakfast options like scrambles, benedicts, and french toasts. We ordered the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, California Breakfast Burrito, the Breakfast Sushi and the Tortilla soup. The soup was excellent - wonderful flavors with tender chicken chunks. I wish I got the large bowl! Breakfast sushi was unique - the plum sauce on top really tied the dish together and the avocado is a must have on top. The rice and egg itself were okay, nothing that noteworthy in terms of flavor and it was a lot of dense rice packed into every roll. It would have been nice if maybe included something else (or with less rice since we had a lot of it leftover). Service was great - super friendly and attentive/ready to take our order. They even brought out a bowl of water for our corgi as we dined outside.

Marianna D.

Yelp
Loved my experience and price point. Already scheduling another appointment, this will be my new go to spot! (:
google avatar

Megan E.

Yelp
This place is so cute!!!! The breakfast sushi was so unique and so delicious I wanna go back for it all the time!! Drinks were good too. We tried a bunch of brunch cocktails. The wait was long on a weekend for brunch but the food was worth it! The fries were super crispy and hot too.
google avatar

Megan G.

Yelp
Came here for a brunch and was very satisfied! Arrived around 9 am on a Saturday and we were sat right away. Service was great and had helpful recommendations! Loved the location of this cafe. Right in the heart of PB but not on too busy of a street. Surrounded by big trees and it has a nice indoor/outdoor ambiance. The food and drinks were delicious. Quite random but I really enjoyed the flavor and consistency of their jam.
google avatar

Breann G.

Yelp
We were recommended this place by a friend and it did not disappoint! Every thing we got was SO GOOD! We had the spicy chicken sandwich, perfectly cooked and the grilled turkey sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I had the hibiscus lemonade which was refreshing and not overly sweet. My gf also really loved the hot sauce they had on the table, we even looked into buying a bottle. I'd highly recommend this place, food was so delicious.

De J.

Yelp
Vegan French Toast Amazing!!! Love their food Great Vegan Option. I have tried all of them.

Marissa F.

Yelp
Fig Tree is a go-to spot for weekend brunch. A few favorites of mine are the bananas foster brioche french toast or the fig jam ricotta french toast. The vibes here are perfect for a gathering of friends, family or just a couple's brunch. Nothing here will disappoint.
google avatar

Anna H.

Yelp
Got there at 8:30 on a Sunday, had no problems getting seated. Banana yogurt and granola was awesome, the vanilla sweet cream cold brew was also impressive (I'm always hesitant to get coffee at restaurants because it never is like a coffee shop, but this was GOOD). We enjoyed the large menu that offered great options as well as customizations. My friend got the ricotta French toast. Everything was fresh and the waitress was attentive. There are lots of seats outdoors and indoors. We enjoyed our time.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute brunch spot in Pacific Beach. They serve your typical American brunch items, which is what I was craving. The service of the place was okay. My friend is very sensitive to gluten and gave thorough instructions about not putting bread on the plate, but the waitress serving bread on the plate. That's the one big complaint I have about the place. Overall, had a good experience here, and I do recommend trying this place for a cute brunch date!
google avatar

Francesca B.

Yelp
Every time I have eaten here, I have looooooved it. So good! The food hits the spot every single time. The service is great, there's never too long of a wait and the coffee comes out quickly, something I always need. I got the CRISPY PORK BELLY & GRITS and my boyfriend got the American Breakfast. The mimosa was yummy! The place is cute and treehouse vibes. Good date spot!! :)
google avatar

Zofia G.

Yelp
Just wow! The menu is amazing especially for breakfast. The food is amazing and the service is great. They're prompt and the ambiance is fun. The patio is great for families with kids. The French toast is out of this world. We ordered the cream cheese berry and my husband ordered the strawberry cream French toast. The coffee cups are huge and the coffee is fresh, not like diner coffee. Sooo good!
google avatar

Dexter Z.

Yelp
This is a great location and honestly I wanted to love it. Unfortunately the service and food quality just wasn't there. I think it's over priced and for what you get it seems the value just doesn't make sense. Since Fig tree complained and removed my original post because they didn't seem to think I was actually there... I am going to get more detailed. I understand prices are high and I don't mind paying if it's worth it, but honestly the coffee wasn't even that great and not up to the gourmet vibe/pricing of the place ... we had regular drip and a latte -$12 . For breakfast we had fig tree and stuffed ricotta french toast, it was really just two pieces of bread folded in half with a small amount of filling and topping. In my opinion not worth $16/17 and not to mention a side of bacon and eggs is $8, again not worth it. We also had the breakfast sandwich that was $15/16 and again not even close to worth the value, a small amount of egg , they were out of sausage so they provided 2 pieces of bacon and arugula lettuce. Don't forget a surplus of chopped potatoes. Overall I believe in tipping so we ended up at a total of around $60-65. The other major problem here was that our waiter was awful and didn't even seem to know where he was as well as how to take care of a table. I don't think we even saw him after we ordered except to take the bill. In retrospect I should have tipped less. Other people delivered our food/ etc.

Yelp
Hot fire flames!! The rosemary potatoes, man candy, and ketchup were the star of the show. I wish I had some right now. The ambiance was cozy. We went on a rainy Sunday morning for breakfast and they had heaters to keep us all comfortable. It was about a 45 minute wait to get in. Service was friendly and helpful as expected.
