The sweet chili wings here was delicious, with a rich and perfectly balanced flavor that really addictive. However the services is just average nothing exceptional and could definitely use come improvement to make the experience more enjoyable.

Google
Food was not worth the $65 order we had. Fries were unseasoned, a bit undercooked and not waffle fries as pictured in the menu. Ordered the cheesesteak hoagie and meat was completely unseasoned as well. Also ordered the Texas cheesesteak and the onion rings supposed to be on top were soggy and smashed on top of the sandwich. This is drive thru and you get served thru an alley. Was looking forward to this place as picture but definitely not what we expected.

Google
I feel so deceived! I did a pickup with uber eats and I was expecting a retro place similar to the Google photos, but instead it was one of those virtual type kitchens. The cheesesteak was soggy, lacking of flavor, and barely any cheese whiz. The strawberry lemonade was extremely watered down. The only good item was the onion rings. I was so excited to try because on good mythical morning (youtube), this spot was highly rated, but my experience was anything but that :( Also there is barely any parking. Be prepared to wait for your food in the line of cars outside doing the same.

Google
I've been here a couple of times now, and I the cheesesteaks are pretty dang good. The lunch special the run is definitely worth coming in for. Quality is great and the staff is usually pretty friendly. Sometimes the dinning area isn't always the cleanest and it can get a little busy at the register, but all in all a good place to eat near USC

If you like cheese steaks and you are near exposition park, you need to stop by. The have all different types of sandwiches but do the traditional Cheese Steak real well.

Google
Out on a Sunday cruising the neighborhood, and folks wanted a philly cheese steak sandwich. Found this establishment, which had a sign "Rated Best Philly Sandwich." Purchased two sandwiches; the New Yorker and the Figueroa Philly. We were told these were their most popular sandwiches and they were really good! Ha! Both sandwiches were bland and they didn't give you enough meat. Another overpriced restaurant for the serving size. The lady at the drive-thru was helpful. The lobby area was closed, so I'm not sure if they have public bathrooms. Minimal parking.

Google
Great sandwich but place itself was dirty just floor and tables not cleaned. Staff seemed nice and helpful. There is a smaller tv to watch sports. I went just before game ended good thing because they got swamped . At that time they were only accepting cash. Overall if you want a good sandwich, got cash and next to stadium they work but expect to wait in line if going after a game.

Google
The staff is amazingly helpful and super nice :) It's conveniently located for going to the Natural History Museum just up the road! The food here is sooooooo good too! A definite must have whenever I'm in the area!

Yelp
Note: this was ordered via Postmates. Are you off put by the reviews? Low ratings? Don't be! You need to try it to judge. I did an office order for a 13 people. I was worried that it was too many sandwiches on such short notice. I hesitated but ordered anyways and hoped for the best. I can't comment on the location but it's not too far from my building. On to the food! I ordered the Famous Figueroa Philly with cheese whiz. Although the sandwich was soggy, you have to understand that this is a hefty sandwich, plus it did travel 15 minutes to me. It was filled with a good amount of meat. I could used more peppers and onions but I could only eat half the sandwich. It was delicious with the cheese whiz. This is not your mall sandwich. The food was hot the fries were crispy and had fresh garlic. The food was absolutely delicious! It was so worth taking the chance. I called after I placed the order to ask for jalapenos because my boss wanted them. They did not skimp on them or ketchup or buffalo sauce or napkins....YOU WILL NEED NAPKINS. This is a juicy sandwich. I'll take a picture of the entire order. I let him know that it was a big order and that if it did take longer we would understand. I placed the order at 10:40 and it came at exactly the time stated on Postmates. 11:45. That is awesome! Icing on the cake...I noted names on each sandwich order and they actually wrote them on there....some places would've just let us guess.... Thank you! Overall this is a place you need to try.

Yelp
Unfortunately, the food was not good. My mom and I ordered a Philly cheesesteak with extra sweet peppers, but instead, we received sandwiches loaded with hot peppers and jalapeños. It was a complete waste of a meal. If the peppers are going to be spicy, it should be clearly stated on the menu. Calling them "sweet peppers" is misleading. We couldn't enjoy our meals because of the unexpected spice level.

Yelp
#1this is simply a ghost kitchen. It's designed for delivery services to pick up only. #2 it's 40 minutes now...and we still don't have our food #3 neighborhood is SKETCH. #4 no parking

Veasna H.

Yelp
Well where do I begin. We ordered about 6 sandwiches and every single one of them was gross. The bread was so soggy and wet you'd have to eat it on a plate with a knife and fork. The meat was extremely salty. So salty no one was able to finish their sandwiches. The fries came out as if it was microwaved. Soggy. Not to mention OVER priced for garbage food. The location is horrible, you'd have to drive up passed a fleet of homeless tents to pull into the lot. The only good thing that came of that kitchen was the watermelon juice. Do not eat here. Save your money and your taste buds. -100

Yelp
First thing,,,, it isn't located on Figueroa Street anymore... it is now located at the GRAND FOOD DEPOT 11 358 38th st . So now for the food... I had the pastrami and order of their season fries and I have to say it was delicious. I'm hooked . I really can't say anything about the ambience because it's a pick-up only kind of place. The service was good... when your order is ready you pull up and press the button and someone comes out with your order, simple.

Yelp
Beef needed to be chopped more and there was not enough cheese wiz on the Philly ... the flavor of the meat was delicious though. The service was ok ... the lady handing out the food was definitely irritated about something, overall I've had worse cheesesteaks and service but it didn't ruin my experience but I'll stick to Boo's when I'm in LA...

Yelp
I had an amazing time here at Figueroa! The food is just amazing and I have no words for it. The service is very professional and polite. The ambiance is also very nice and chill.

Lo M.

Yelp
Terrible. There was so much folded meat in the sub. Nothing was chopped like a Philly cheese steak, it almost was like a meatball sub. It was soaking wet. Never again.

Yelp
This is my go to spot anytime I'm traveling! You order online and pick up, almost like a drive thru. They do not have dine in. You get a good portion size as well. I typically order the Figueroa Philly cheesesteak with a lemonade. The philly is so filling you can share one order.

Yelp
Never in the area but decided to try this place! Though there's a lot of hit or miss reviews on yelp, my experience with the Philly cheese steak sandwich was pretty good. i ordered the steak, mushroom and cheese sandwich and I thought it was super delicious. Since it's my first time in the area, it was confusing as to where to pick up the order. I parked and walked through the entire alley before realizing it was a drive-thru/pick-up order. Their sign was also NOT on the door so I was so confused as to where to pick up our order. For future reference, place your order online, and the suite for pick up is #5. I devoured my entire sandwich really quick. Their drinks were also pretty bomb too! I got the strawberry lemonade and the hubby got the blueberry lemonade and really enjoyed it. I would love to come back here if only it wasn't such a far drive for me!

Ann N.

Yelp
Hate, hate, hate new arrangement. Used to go to the original location and enjoyed the best food and ambiance. Driving through an alley with zero human connection and long wait times is not for me. One more great experience obliterated from the LA scene.

Linda R.

Yelp
Ordered food here with canned soda for $3 each. They forgot to give me my soda so I called them to make it right for a refund. It's been over a week and they did not give me a. $6 refund for the two sodas they forgot to give me. Food was okay. Imo needs more seasoning.

Yelp
Ordered a classic with cheese and got a bottom of the barrel half a** made sandwich with no cheese included.... Like wow! Waste of 17$ seriously! Horrible horrible dont waste your hard earned money on this garbage! Basura!!

Yelp
Great food, lots of food, you will be full! on the pricey side though. A must try if you haven't been.

Yelp
We were pretty disappointed with this experience overall. We thought that we were going to a store location based on the pictures from Google. It wasn't a big deal actually, when we arrived to a depot to pivot for a different experience. We are flexible and open to new ideas. If the food was good it would have been just fine. However: This depot concept was new for us but there is literally nowhere to park, it's a depot of multiple restaurants. Hopefully you have another person in the car to drive while the other gets out to order. You walk up to a computer-like station to order food. At the station, you establish which place you're ordering from, select items in your order, pay for it and then it sends a confirmation text to you with a timeframe. We selected Figueroas, picked our 3 phillies and added in an order of well-done garlic waffle fries, $73. $73 bucks felt steep for what we ordered but for "authentic" phillies, we were willing to pay it. We did everything that we needed to on the machine and then it sent a text, it gave us a range from was 13-33 minutes. Which seemed like a wide range, it was finished at about 22 minutes. We waited for the confirmation text, "checked in" with the lady at a booth, allowing us to pass through and then we drove up to the proper container where the food was going to be handed to us. We got our food and dug in right away. We were hungry and again, were not expecting the experience we got... to not have a place to park, sit and eat. We had to eat and drive. Unfortunately, unwrapping our meals we found multiple issues. 1- the waffle fries they serve are actually crinkle cut fries... not waffle fries. When we picked them up, we asked for ketchup and they said that they didn't have any. Lame. We opened the box and not only were they not well-done they were barely cooked. They tasted like box frozen fries, which were still white in color, with none of that golden color you want to see on a fry. 2- all three sandwich hoagies were wet to the point of falling apart while holding even in their wrapping. 3- one of the sandwiches completely lacked cheese! The others barely had any cheese on it at all. Cheese is a staple on a cheesesteak; it was just meat and bread. Somehow it was both too wet on the bread and extremely dry on the inside. Meat wasn't very good, overcooked and dry. 4- afterwards, I filled out their survey asking for feedback promising that someone would email back. No one did. Overall: The depot concept was unwelcoming and difficult as a result of the lack of parking. The food was not good. The cost was very high. The experience is poor. Even with the hopes of connecting with someone to resolve any issues, there was no follow up. We drove up from San Diego to visit the area and had included this as part of the plan... it was not worth the stop. Wanted an authentic philly and ended up with nothing resembling that... super bummed.

Yelp
Inconvenient, Overrated & Overpriced It used to be one the best Philly Cheese Steaks in LA ! They moved from original location to Grand Food Depot & it become like fast food quality !! Never again

Yelp
The food was great. Along side the customer service we received by the employees was very welcoming. We enjoyed our family outing with music and laughter.

Yelp
This place took forever to not only find but figure out where the heck they were located on this huge line of weird ghost kitchens. The food was good but it was such a struggle to get it.

Yelp
Pulled up at 7:25 on a Tuesday. I go to walk inside and the doors are locked and all the chairs are on top of the table... however the sign on the door says they close at 8... I call them to make sure they're closed and they say the drive thru is open for 10 more minutes.. I wanted to try this place so i went through the drive thru... They tell me that they have no fries... no drinks i can just order a plain philly and i could only get provolone cheese. Maybe they should change the sign with the hours of operation... I came at 725 and they were already closed pretty much. Not to mention the philly wasn't all that great. Phillys best is better. I wont be back

Yelp
Be sure to get their new location address! Google Maps and Yelp can be contradicting. But it's so easy to order ahead online, drive up, pick up, and be on your merry way! It was such a breeze to get dinner here before lining up for a concert at the Shrine Auditorium. Their food was delicious too! Makes me miss Philly. They use the perfect kind of bread for their sandwiches and their drinks were refreshing too. Would definitely come back!

Lisa B.

Yelp
Over an hour for two sandwiches? Then said they tried to call us to pick up our order but they did not have the right number. How is that possible we got the confirmation text stating they received our order. Food was OK, nothing special but nothing bad either. Please step up your customer service. I always want to promote small business.

Michael D.

Yelp
Great food and convenient order/pick-up. I was looking for a cheesesteak place recently and this is close by work. It was my first time to Grand Food Depot, but it was easy and they were all very helpful. I ordered the Sweet Pepper Cheesesteak with cheesewhiz, and the garlic fries. Both were delicious. I prefer a lot of cheese, so next time I will likely request extra cheeze. The garlic fries were so delicious loaded with a ton of garlic. They also threw in a free drink for the wait - the blueberry lemonade. Definitely going back.

Yelp
This place is great, Boo's is better. Both significantly put anything in my home town of Eugene, OR to shame! If you live near SC and want one, go here - but not alone.

Itz M.

Yelp
One of the best Philly cheese steak places in la jus need to check order they left cheese all together when I ordered extra cheese

Yelp
Hi this is my second time here and the sandwiches are great. I use to got it them on Figueroa but now they are a part of a kitchen of restaurants in a parking lot setup. First time I was confused how it works but now I get it. So basically, you have to find somewhere to park and wait for your food because they will text you and let you know when your food is ready. Then you have to go pull up to a window to your left where there's a rest stop sign and tell the person at the window your name and they will confirm your order and they will tell you which kitchen number to go to the kitchen number is written as the letter K then a number. Then you just pull up to that number like, for example, Philly is K05. I am guessing that the K stands for kitchen and the numbers is like they're little kitchen number. They are small little buildings connected to each other as kitchens multiple kitchens. That's where I picked up my sandwiches. Denera is very nice lady and my food today is the same as always good. October 5, 2023. You should give them a visit.

Yelp
Trash! Philly was saltier than ocean water. - bread was soggy And fries tasted like fried in fish oil. Will never ever eat here.

Yelp
Cheesesteaks we're ok, garlic fries were terrible. Weird ordering process which is a huge hassle. Didn't give me napkins or ketchup. Oh by the way it's located in south central

Yelp
After a game needed some sustenance and saw this place. So many great reviews so decided to try it out. Super disappointing! We ordered 3 cheesesteaks Mine was with wiz...but it seemed my cheesesteak had only a small amount of wiz. I could barely tell it was there. The other cheesesteaks weren't any better meat was lacking flavor. They are definitely disappointing especially for the price of about $16 per cheesesteak. The highlight was the onion rings, they were good.
google avatar

Shaz A.

Yelp
Food tastes like it was put together from donated food. Ordered a bunch of cheese whiz sandwiches and could barely see any cheese .... Saw a bunch of onions and low tier beef if u can call it beef. Pss..... ended up giving the sandwiches to the homeless at skid row
google avatar

Yelp
Figureoa Philly is an authentic Philly cheesesteak joint just across Figueroa from Exposition Park. The cheesesteaks tasted just like the ones I ate growing up in Philadelphia. In fact, they have Amoroso rolls flown in from Philly every week. In addition to the traditional Philly cheesesteaks, they do a couple of non-traditional types (Texas with BBQ sauce; Buffalo with Buffalo wing sauce as well as chicken cheesesteaks). They do regular and sweet potato fries. Wife and kids loved the food here as well. A cheesesteak and fries will run you about $12. The atmosphere here is very much like a Philly cheesesteak joint as well. With the exception of the large windows and the brilliant sunshine, you'd think you were in Philly with the counter staff yelling back the orders and calling out the numbers of the completed orders. The constant clanking of the spatula on the grill as they friend and chopped the steaks took me back to my days in Philly. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Definitely a great place for a Philly cheesesteak experience!

Reenua J.

Yelp
The food is a slightly on the saltier side, but absolutely delicious. The service was really fast and really kind. I love going through the Food Depot, it's like a little adventure, so the ambience was fantastic. This place is only a mile away from the USC campus so definitely a fantastic spot for students.

Yelp
Dope place to stubble upon because that's exactly what happened. So good! Definitely going back!

Yelp
i Was really hoping this would be good. but i can't say that for one bit. this place highkey Sucks. first off, it took them almost an hour to get two sandwiches done, and one fry. plus they told me it would be ready at a certain time, and it took over 15 minutes more, it was crazy. second of all, i probably wouldn't have been as upset if the food was good (cause it's happened at multiple other places) but the food here wasn't even that good at all. like the fries were fine but the main part, the sandwiches were just soggy and not right. plus i had asked for a change in my sandwich and they still did it wrong even though it was even printed on the receipt. on top of that food was pretty pricey... smh. ugh such a disappointing first time visit. most likely not going back.

Phil R.

Yelp
25 minutes and they couldn't do a single Cheesesteak sandwich. I understand they had other orders but that's ridiculous. Avoid it! I have disputed my transaction. They won't answer my calls or reply online.
google avatar

Keely G.

Yelp
Before I begin my review of the actual food let's talk about the new location. I remember seeing the old store before, and the pics on Yelp were what I was envisioning. So imagine my surprise when my navigation had me pull up to a narrow alley on a random side street. It took me a minute to figure out if I was even at the correct place. Turns out, they are now one of several restaurants in a "cloud kitchen." When I pulled up a guy greeted me and asked for my order number which I didn't have. He wasn't able to take my order so I had to drive all the way through, out, around the corner, place an order on my phone and then wait 15 mins before coming back down the food alley to pickup. As for the cheesesteaks, they were pretty tasty. A little under seasoned and soggy but still good. I'd definitely give it another try now that I know the system for ordering and pickup.

Nick B.

Yelp
Had a Texas Philly asked for cheese. They gave me none had an order of seasoned fries came in very cold.. so I ate a Texas Philly with just meat onions, no cheese.
google avatar

Suzanne M.

Yelp
Rude service. Came late night and waited for my order. Cook came out angrily and explained they don't have chicken even though the app let me order chicken. He may have been tired or had a bad day but he came out acting like we did something wrong with an attitude because we ordered something we didn't know they were out of. Needless to say won't be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Figueroa Philly Cheese Steak moved from it's original location. They're now located in this weird/cool shipping container alley way with a bunch of other restaurants. You have to order online and drive through the alley to pick up food and there is no place to really eat there or use the facilities (bathroom). After driving past this place 3 times we finally found our way. Jumped out to ask the guy working how everything functioned and he said we had to do everything online and then we would get a text saying when we could go and which window/stall to pick up at. I ordered the steak mushroom & cheese (white american). There is the choice of either white american cheese or cheese whiz (which apparently is the real way to eat it? i dunno...i like real cheese). Before tax the sandwich itself is $16. That's a pretty steep price in my opinion when there aren't any other changes you can make to the sandwich because you can't really talk to anyone when you order. Our sandwich came out pretty quickly and we were super confused because there is no signage on the door so we drove past the place and had to go back again and ask the "guard" which stall was Figueroa Philly Cheese Steak. The sandwich itself was pretty good and it was SUPER HOT and fresh. The thing is that the automation as well as not having a physical place in which you can eat...makes eating here not the best experience. Will I go again? Not sure....

Yelp
That system to place order is bullshit they didn't add on nothing I ask for an I ordered a sweet pepper Pepper steak and add on hots they gave me all hot no mayo I ask for ketchup no this cheese steak is horrible an over price

Yelp
Pros: - Super close to the coliseum so good for game day - Cheese steaks/hoagies are probably the best in LA - Also huge portions so you can easily share with someone - Service is super quick! - Workers are super friendly, got the sense they really appreciate their customers - There is parking and a drive-thru! Cons: - They didn't take credit/debit cards the day we went which was pretty inconvenient (But I'm assuming that's a one-off incident) - Also pretty greasy (but that is to be expected). Just be careful if you're taking it to-go. The grease will seep through the paper wrap. Would definitely recommend anyone craving philly cheese steaks!
google avatar

Cody H D.

Yelp
Pretty dang good cheese sticks. I don't care if you're from Philadelphia, I don't care about the authenticity, but I do care about the quality. And these things are quality. Messy, spicy if you want them to be, delicious juicy goodness.
google avatar

Yelp
What a delicious cheesesteak shop and at a great location. I was on my way to a concert at the Banc of California Stadium and wanted to check this place out for dinner beforehand. It is right across the street from the entrance of the stadium so it is very convenient. The menu has a lot of options - for my first time, I ordered the classic Figueroa Philly Cheese Steak which comes with a choice of cheese, mushrooms and onion. I also got a side of fries. Everything was cooked well and the food comes out extremely quick. The customer service is phenomenal too. Everyone is very friendly and attentive even though it gives off the "fast food" feel. Hours are modified when events are happening like concerts and games so late-night Figueroa is a great option!

Lesly M.

Yelp
I used to love this place but not anymore. We hadn't gone in a while and we went Sat. before USC football game and it was disappointing. The sandwiches we ordered hardly had any veggies and cheese. They put way too much meat. That's all u can taste is the meat. Wafer fries are delicious! We were disappointed about the sandwiches though.
google avatar

Yelp
Been wanting to try out this place for some time, the last few times i have passed by they have been closed. Well the day came that I logged onto Grubhub and order before I arrived. Ordered a Figueroa Philly Cheesesteak and a Order of Buffalo Wings, The cheesesteak was huge, ate the cheesesteak quick, eat bite was full of meat, I would suggest more cheese next time because the provolone cheese I picked was non existent. The wings were delicious , the buffalo sauce has a slight kick, I can only imagine how their habanero sauce is, next time I will be sure to try them. Try this place out if you near here, you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
This is not a spot that I will be returning... First I want to say the service was friendly and very quick! I'd expect more for a $11 sandwich. First I had to say the sandwich was so oily and greasy that the paper was sticking to the sandwich (we had to peel it off the sandwich piece by piece) half of the sandwich was so soggy that I couldn't even pick it up (I wish I was over exaggerating but I'm not) barely any cheese, didn't even have a cheese similar to cheese whiz which is a staple in Philly cheesesteaks. Over all very bland, was very disappointed. What I got: Figueroa Philly cheese steak Main course rating: 1/5 Sides rating: didn't order any Cleanliness: ordered drive through Customer service: 4/5 Will I return?: no

Yelp
Yummm!!! We ordered delivery yesterday, it was so good that we are planning to have it for dinner again today. It was very tasty! Haven't had a filly cheese steak sub better than this one in LA. The size is not the biggest but definitely bigger than the other shops in the area that I had tried. I think they gave us wrong cheese, but it was still good. Wish they put more meat in there though. Not sure how much each sub was at the shop because we ordered from Grubhub, and the bill was $50 bucks for 2 subs, which was crazy. Let's just say each sub was under $20 after tax, with that price I would expectation little more meat in the sub. Also, I wish they used better buns, it was very soft like a large size hotdog bun, so it was super mushy.

Yelp
This place used to be $8-10 a cheesesteak and then they moved to that portable drive thru location on 38th street and they are now $16+ and fries are $7 That little depot is either up-charging or its the cheesesteak place increasing the prices. The prices are not worth it anymore. Also its not a drivethru anymore because you have to order ahead and then go or get there, order, and then come back when the food is ready which for me was 25 minutes.

Yelp
Great cheesesteak spot! This is my usual hit before Rams games. The food is quick and prices are pretty reasonable (~$10/sandwich). I like getting the Classic Figueroa, and I like both the cheesesteak and chicken versions. The default here is American cheese, so make sure you request whiz if you'd like. FYI, the bathroom is always broken/closed here, but it could also be a gameday thing. Overall, good spot for those cheesesteak cravings!
