Fremont Brewing Now Has a Nonalcoholic IPA - Eater Seattle

"Figurehead Brewing is a Seattle brewery that makes an NA stout. Despite Seattle's craft brewers largely staying out of the NA business, Figurehead Brewing has been producing a nonalcoholic stout for some time." - Harry Cheadle

Google
I love this hidden gem! This brewery has the most savory and tasty brews in the Pacific Northwest. Love the vibes and the salty air from fisherman's term. Highly recommend Thursday's for a pint and the delicious Japanese food truck that parks in front.

Google
Nice small brewery. Lots of seating outdoors, some seating inside. Nice beer selection. They had a food truck, Scooy Dogs, outside.

Google
Great place to chill on a sunny afternoon! Not your typical beer styles here (but IPAs are available if you so incline). I really enjoyed the various English style ales and the saisons were better than the ones I have tried before.

Luke Watkinson

Google
I had some very tasty drops here. Found my new jam in the Nitro White Stout, inventive and delicious.

Google
Great little local ‘small batch’ microbrewery. I had the ‘Queen Anne's Revenge’ (IPA) and the ‘Boathouse Wit’ (Belgian-style witbier), both were excellent. They also have a stand at Magnolia’s Farmers Market Saturday’s. Hadn’t tried the food yet. I will be going back. Dog friendly. Parking is tight on weekends so you probably will park on the street. Please remember to not drink & drive!

Julia Holec

Google
Cute brewery with great options. Dog friendly

Google
Awsome beer! Great service, and outdoor seating was safe/spacious! Even had out door heating! 5/5 make this a regular spot!

Yelp
Chill little spot. Enjoyed bringing our 13 month old here so we could enjoy a couple of non-alcoholic options (they had 2: hop water and a brown ale) and some pretzels. The pretzel was delicious! We enjoyed the stone ground mustard. Seemed family friendly and it said it was dog friendly as well.

Yelp
If I could give 3.5 I would. But, no such deal. Overall I was happy with my one beer. Dune Buggy Session Pale Ale 4.9%. Tasty, refreshing and light. It came recommended by the girl working there. The vibe itself here was total locals. Now, I don't have anything against a local spot. But when it borders on unfriendly I am not thrilled. Usually used to beer equaling friendliness. So I quietly drank my beverage and left. Won't come back here alone, lol.

Yelp
We originally stopped by to get dinner at Midnite Ramen which is a food truck that shares the area with Figurehead Brewing, but because it would take some time to order we decided to grab a table and grab a beer while we waited. There are a couple tables inside but most of the seating is outdoors. It's a very dog friendly place and there was also live music when we were there. I ordered the rock the spot hops ($7 for 16oz) which was a good hoppy beer. Sitting outside with a beer in my hand and seeing all these groups of people socializing and having a good time was really awesome to cool, especially since I haven't seen that in some time. Eat some ramen here if you're so inclined, but this place feels like a good time with friends.

Yelp
I stopped here on a rainy day, honestly because I wanted to get food to-go from the Midnite Ramen truck, but as we approached the brewery it had a nice little covered outdoor area and while waiting for the food, we decided to get a beer & have a seat. This was a cold, super rainy day (last weekend), but I was surprised at how chill & comfy everyone in the seating area seemed! Of course I'd prefer to have heat lamps but then again I easily get cold and I wasn't wearing a warm jacket. We went inside to check out the beer options. The two staff members were very friendly and helpful, describing the flavors and even offering a sample of one that I was curious about. For some reason there's a good amount of breweries where the cashier doesn't seem to want my presence there (maybe because I chose to wear a mask when it wasn't required?), but these workers were actually cool. I really liked the beer I sampled (I think it was something with the word Midwatch), but I wasn't feeling the wine flavors that day, so I got the brown. It was pretty good, but I think I'll get the Midwatch when I go back! In the outdoor covered area, we sat at a nice wooden picnic table along with most other people, and watched the rain pour as we sipped on our beers. Man, it was pleasant, and I'd like to experience it again!

Yelp
Very interesting local brewery! Got one of the dark beers which had a coffee after taste which I thought was really unique. They are known for their darker beers but have a wide range. Unfortunately didn't have any sours when I visited. Prices were reasonable too!
google avatar

Yelp
Great beer, soda and Ramen, and friendly, casual atmosphere. It was pretty quiet when we stopped by on a Saturday night after an art show, and we noticed they didn't have a heat lamp on for the outdoor seating, but there was plenty of dry seating under the large tent. We ordered two ramen at the truck outside and went in to grab a beer for the bf and a soda for me the DD lol. We got to talking about chicano arts with Andrew who was running the bar, and turns out he's a major artist as well!! It was so cool to talk about beer, art, poster design, and local music shows with him and the other patrons! Definite recommend for a fun, casual visit!

Yelp
Very cool spot to go to, especially if you're visiting discovery park. I've been going here when Midnite Ramen has their truck parked outside (best ramen in Seattle in my opinion). I like the nautical decorations at Figurehead and I'm oh so tempted to get their merch (super cool ship). I recently tried their wheatwine beer and it was SO good. Please keep wheatwines on the menu! The staff are great at describing the beers and making recommendations. The inside is a bit small but they have outdoor seating too. Solidly awesome beer spot.

Yelp
New brewery in the area. Lovely people great beer. Hopefully the construction clears out soon so more can experience the location.

Yelp
A hidden gem in the Seattle beer scene. One of the three breweries located in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle, with some of the best beers in the entire city. The friendly staff, award winning beers, and community centric atmosphere make it a must visit taproom

Yelp
I'm kind of tired of the expression hidden gem, but I'm going to use it now because that's how I felt when I tried Figurehead Brewing. It's kind of laid back and tucked away, and it has a very local neighborhood spot kind of feel. The young lady working was very friendly, and they have a varied selection of brews including a guest and a cider option. They have snacks available such as a pretzel for one. The design on their merch is nautical and cool. I don't think I'm the only one who likes it because it grew very busy, and the line was quite long to order my second round.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
Yes I like the vibe here. It's cozy but big enough for sitting at the bar, tables, or even outside. There is a bowl of free pretzels for snacking on with the beer, board games, and a little library filled with a variety of books. Out of the 7 tasters I tried, I only REALLY liked two (midwatch dark strong #7, earl grey Belgian wheat #4) and two pretty alright, like I might get it again if the above mentioned two aren't available (dry Irish stout #12, patersbier #2). Midwatch dark strong - makes sense that stood out to me, they won an award with that one. Most of the other beers were sooo mild, it was difficult to pick up any distinguishing flavors.

Yelp
I stopped by on a Saturday night to pick up some beers to go. The vibe is simple and not fancy. The outdoor area was full, and we were about the fourth in line to get beer. It became apparent quickly that only one person was working. I saw him pour beer, bus glasses, run the dishwasher, and prepare food just while I was in line! This poor guy really could have used some help! It also made ordering beer a very slow process. Once at the front of the line, we ordered a 32oz crowler and a bottle to go. The bartender was still hastily running around, and we made it clear that we didn't mind waiting. Once the bartender was back assisting us, my husband made a joke about it being a slow easy night, as it was so clearly not, and the bartender's response was off-putting. Between this and the long wait -- poor first impression. Beer was good, not great -- not good enough to make me eagerly want to return. Figurehead Brewing - get this guy some help on a busy Saturday night!

Yelp
I've been really enjoying the spacious patio area here during COVID. They have a large tent area as well as some totally uncovered seating and picnic tables with umbrellas. The beers that really shine for me here are the Belgian style ales. They also have several food trucks including a Midnite Ramen which makes an appearance several times a week and is delicious
google avatar

Kelli F.

Yelp
I love this place! Great ambience, lively people, and it has a European vibe with the picnic tables outside under a tent. A good place to hold a late afternoon business meeting when it's a Thursday/ Friday and EVERYONE wants to get out of the office for a change of scene. On draft, I recommend Queen Anne's Revenge, when it's available. And just when you realize you need a snack, there's a food truck right outside. Also, quite a cool merchandise shelf. I couldn't resist purchasing a hat to start off the new year.
google avatar

Noriko W.

Yelp
It's our very first time here. We actually saw that Midnight Ramen food trailer was going to be out front, so we took a ticket for our place in the ramen line. Then headed on in to the brewery. Annie greeted us with her nice smile that matched her friendly personality. She recommended two of the best beers that went so well with the delicious ramen. We can't wait to be able to indulge in some Figurehead Brewing and Midnight Ramen again real soon.
google avatar

Micheal A.

Yelp
Love this Magnolia gem. They know how to brew! Food trucks are legit. They've got a decent selection of board games as well.

Yelp
My son took us to Figurehead Brewery in the Magnolia area of Seattle. What I liked about Figurehead was the diversity in beers they have IPAs, Stouts, Pale Ales and strong ales. The beer is of high quality and they have some free snacks to munch on while you enjoy your brews, we had fresh popped popcorn and pretzels. Another bonus is they have ciders and tea for the none beer drinkers (Yes, I have heard they exist, I have suspicions that my wife may be one ). Food & Beverages 5 The beers are great and the free munchies are awesome. I do wish they had a food truck close by to add to the experience. Service 3.5 Pleasant over the counter service who knows her beer. Atmosphere 3.5 Indoor and outdoor seating but nothing special Price 4 We had a 5 oz pour of a 9.1% Saison for $2. The most a 5 oz pour was $3. I think a good deal for good quality beer. OA 4.5. If I was local, I'd be a regular.

Yelp
I fell in love with the ambiance at Figurehead Brewing. They are conveniently located near the fisherman terminal in Magnolia. The nautical-themed brand suits the surrounding environment. They have a small tasting room, that is inviting and not pretentious. They also have a small outdoor seating area. You can check online for a rotating schedule of food trucks. They are dog-friendly. Their brews are English and Belgian inspired. The staff member was very informative and friendly. They had several brews on tap to select from. While we didn't prefer their IPA's, we did enjoy their Belgians, porter, and milk stout. Probably one of my favorite stouts of our beer tasting journey that evening. I like that they also had a rotating local cider available for non beer drinkers in your party.

Yelp
We've been to most of the breweries in Ballard and Fremont, as well many others in Seattle - and Figurehead is our favorite. The beer, the vibe, the staff, the regulars (Al!), and let's not forget Midnite Ramen (soooo yummy), Figurehead is where we return time and again. My husband's favorite beer is Throw Down Brown and my favorite is the (seasonal) Mighty Fitz stout.
google avatar

Chellie L.

Yelp
Went here to chill here yesterday, Friday. They have a live acoustic duo (Rik and Lisa) singing which was nice. A lot of patio chairs/tables with umbrella for groups and couples. It was our first time going here just to try it out. It wasn't very busy when we went around 5pm and we found a parking space right away! I saw people brought their dogs as well so it's a pet friendly place. A very casual place for sure!

Yelp
Open every day of the week, this Magnolia neighborhood establishment is a must-see. Figurehead Brewery focuses on English/UK and Belgian style beers, and they do them incredibly well. They even took home a Gold from the Great American Beer Festival in 2018 for their Belgian-style dark strong, Midwatch. When I went there with my wife (and tried almost everything on the board), we were both impressed with the quality and how the beers are true to style. Can't take the time to travel to Belgium or the UK? Figurehead has you covered. Enjoy a great beer with a fun ambiance? Check. Like cask ales? Check, but you need to keep an eye on their social media. In the Ballard/Magnolia area and need a local watering hole with quality ales? Check. My favorites at the brewery are the Woodrow Milk Stout, Dry Irish Stout, Bigger than Big Brown, and their Belgian Dubbel. Cheers!

Yelp
This was a surprise hidden gem. I walked in, accidentally, on beer information night. The head brewer was giving a prezi presentation about the brewing process. Great info! The beer was fabulous and the people were even better! Keep being awesome!
google avatar

Jean P.

Yelp
I went for the first time to their SAD beer fest. I'm a beer aficionado and was legitimately happy with quality of the flavor and selection of their beers. The outdoor space felt covid-friendly and we will most definitely be back. As a side note, the ramen truck outside is so LEGIT that even if the brewery wasn't great, I would show up just for Midnite Ramen. PS: try the Dunkel, the Belgian pale, and the Mighty Fitz. All were excellent.
google avatar

STEVE L.

Yelp
This is a brewery that knows how to brew, especially browns, which is something most NW breweries either can't or won't brew. The owners also work on site which I really appreciate.
google avatar

Bex B.

Yelp
Stopped by after walking in Discovery Park. We snagged a parking spot in their lot. It was busy and we had to wait in line for a beer. It looked like one bartender working that day. Most of the tables were full, but we were able to snag a table near the fire pit to enjoy our beer. They had a ramen food cart that day. The food looked good but we didnt order. As we enjoyed the beer - the line grew - and didnt really shorten at any time. They had a covered patio with a fire to keep warm.
google avatar

Michael D.

Yelp
Top notch brewery with fantastic German brewed beers and ales. Their IPA's are fantastic as well. The brewery is smaller, but patio seating is available if it's not raining. There is a food truck out front on Fridays and Saturdays I believe and service is always friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Love how close this place is next to our house! Just 2 blocks away and we love coming here almost weekly. All the other patrons are nice and the environment is relaxing
google avatar

Yelp
Traditional English style brewery. Assistant brewer/beer tender was awesome. Cute seating outside with ample parking on a beautiful sunny seattle afternoon. Great merch!
google avatar

S.G. P.

Yelp
Good spot located along the bike path, they have cider available in cans and you can see the brewing vats in the back. Plenty of outdoor seating (extra plastic chairs and tables added).
google avatar

Scott B.

Yelp
I struggled writing this review as I see many folks really like Figurehead yet I wanted to give it a two as I found it without anything to bring me back. The beer I had was OK, and the building was clean, no more like spotless, so that is definitely a positive. Unfortunately this probably needs another visit to give a fair review and am not sure when I will be back so am leaving my take at 3 stars for now.
google avatar

Tom G.

Yelp
Decent ambiance and the bartender was friendly, but the beers were not great. Captain Digby Mild (good) 1710 Saison w/rosemary and lavender (okay) Bigger than Big Brown (good but too big) Pacmar Stout Nitro (good)
google avatar

Adam H.

Yelp
Love this spot, great knowledge of beer, local flavor, local vibe: great crew and amazing brew

Yelp
Amazing local brewery right here in Seattle in the Magnolia/Interbay area. We stopped in after visiting the Fisherman's Terminal and in need of a little tasty beverage. Ordering their flight . . . we ended up with a menagerie of tasty beverages! In our flight we had: -- Golden Delicious (a very nice and crisp Blonde Ale) -- 1710 Saison (a lavender Farmhouse Ale) -- PacMar Stout (one of the best stouts I've had -- smooth and ultra creamy) -- Matersbeir Saison (a great Saison that's not as floral as their 1710) -- Bigger Than Big Brown (a nice twist on a traditional Brown...this one is much more roasty than most Browns) With so many microbrews out there it can be hard to chose which one(s) to frequent. I can say that Figurehead will be one that is frequented often! Friendly service, comfortable atmosphere, and great beer! 'Nuff said!
google avatar

Alden C.

Yelp
Figurehead is a brand spanking new brewery in the Interbay neighborhood. It has been open for about two months now. I tried to come here much sooner actually but due to car problems on the first attempt that plan got derailed. The important thing anyway is that I made it here at last! I had their Brown Ale which was wonderful! The beer had a great complex flavoring and was very enjoyable. Steve had a darker beer...a stout or a porter which also was excellent. The bartenders here are really nice and friendly which was great and that alone is what would draw me back. We talked about Tacoma area breweries and the night life there which proved to be a very refreshing experience. I would definitely come back and look forward to their future beer releases!
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Nice brewery. There are lots of beers on tap, at least 10. I had the Scottish ale on nitro. I always love a good nitro and this one was excellent. The brewery is small but there are quite a few tables. They carry out the theme well, lots of boat/ship themed items/decor. Overall, I really liked this brewery, I would stop by again sometime.
google avatar

Jake M.

Yelp
Stopped in here on a Saturday afternoon on a recommendation and was pleasantly surprised for a really new brewery. Super friendly staff, high quality beer and a cozy staff. I got in at a good time because right afterwards there was a wave of a bunch of groups. Anyway, I was in a bit of a rush so I got a 5 beer taster to sample the spread. I did the Bigger than Brown, ESB, Belgian Patersbier, Legless Rabbit IPA and the Nitro Dry Irish Stout. Hard to pick a favorite amongst such a variety but I especially liked the Brown, IPA and Stout. Looking forward to stopping in here again.
google avatar

Domonique B.

Yelp
Jenny is amazing! Thank you so much for being so accommodating and sweet. Drinks are priced well and staff is lovely. Annie is so sweet as well! Highly recommend
google avatar

Ninja S.

Yelp
A new neighborhood brewery! Yay! We stopped in and has a sampler. Their stout was my favorite; it was dark but not bitter. Also featured is their lovely brown ale, a classic Belgian dobbel, and some are available out of a nitro tap.
google avatar

Alicia J.

Yelp
Small but mighty! This place is great! Pick up your own food and get the ale. You won't regret it.
google avatar

Gabriel D.

Yelp
I just want everyone know that Figurehead Brewing Company is the Best place to have a local washingtonian beer. Great selections, and a service with a smile from the server Jenny. I enjoyed my Friday evening relaxing before I head home. This place reminds me of of the TV show "Cheers". They remember you by your name. This is my second time coming back to this place because I was very impress with one of the owner, Jesse Duncan. He was very hospitable & made me feel like we were old friends for a long time. I highly recommend this place if you want great tasting beer with lots of variety! Now I know why everyone's been talking about the Best brewery in Magnolia! This is very true!!!! Happy drinking!

Yelp
Yummy beer, fun outdoor space to enjoy safely! Loved this little spot and the beer tender was delightful, helpful and provided fab recos!
google avatar

Rob M.

Yelp
This was my first trip out here after moving to Interbay area. I had a milk stout that was great and there was just the right amount of seating on an early Friday night. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Michele K.

Yelp
Love this place. The Midwatch is amazing. Delicious, not heavy at all and 9% alcohol content. They have free pretzels and popcorn too. I'll go anywhere with free snacks. They have games and books and an outside patio. Very cute date spot.
google avatar

C M.

Yelp
Absolutely do not go here...Unless you love good beer. Great people and great conversation. These guys...know there beer! What a great place to stop in and enjoy their award winning beer. Its got a sailors theme and very chill atmosphere.
google avatar

Rick C.

Yelp
Small quaint serving area and brewery. Located in Seattle's Interbay District, we enjoyed the small tasting room and tap room. It's an intimate setting where you can socialize without yelling. The craft beers were good. We will be back.

John H.

Yelp
Small brewery in industrial area - Friendly bartender tried 4 tasters All were good - nice cozy tasting area . They have a flat panel playing sports. I will stop again next Iam in town

M R.

Yelp
If you're looking for a friendly neighborhood brew pub this is it. No frills, great ciders (by the can), and an easy vibe. Great for doggos, friends, and the seating has been adjusted to allow for proper social distancing. 12/10 would recommend.
google avatar

Matt R.

Yelp
I tried five or six of there beers (tasters- not pints)- and enjoyed them. Good, easy-drinking beers. Only wish would be for a bit more variety. All their beers seem a bit muted- no really strong or bold flavors. They all tasted a little bit the same. Maybe we've been trained by all the great breweries in Seattle to seek out the bold and floral IPAs, sweet Belgium-styles, or mouth-puckering sours- and maybe I'd like Figurehead more if they had something like this- but I just found their beers to be a bit too similar across the board. Super nice people working there and the tasting room is small, but accommodating. I do plan on visiting again soon.
google avatar

Max S.

Yelp
Good Beer! Good People! It's not the best beer in town but they are way ahead of the curve given their age. Always a couple of gems on the menu too! Well worth checking out. Outdoor Seating!
