What a gem of a deli! This place is everything you’d hope for in a classic Italian deli: friendly faces, top-notch sandwiches, and authentic Italian goods that are hard to find anywhere else. The sandwiches are outstanding, especially when served on a proper amoroso or hard roll (yes, they do it right!). They also carry a fantastic selection of premium pastas, including unique finds like squid ink pasta. And if you’re into high-quality Italian meats and cheeses, this deli is a dream. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like a regular the minute you walk in. Can’t recommend it enough.

Official Italian delivery have the BEST sandwiches bar none! And this place is the BEST around in Wheaton and possibly the DMV metro area...Steak and Cheese is in point and fresh fresh cheese makes it that more spectacular! I'm here once a week at least while working from home and after my 2nd time being there, they treat me like family. Calling in the order is the fastest way too

Great spot to pick up all your pre-made and ready to cook Italian meals. Awesome meaty subs for takeout. We transported ours to Saints Row Brewing in Rockville to consume with a couple of craft brews. And the hand-piped fresh cannoli is the best!

One of the best subs I’ve had in a while, and the owner and staff are great. It was my first time there yet they treated me as if I grew up with them! Highly recommend anyone to check them out.

Legendary Wheaton spot. Use to go for the sandwiches which are delicious but will probably just settle now with picking up deli meat to make my own. Not the cheapest, but you definitely get high quality for what you pay. Very friendly staff as well with local roots.

I randomly dropped by Filippo's because I was waiting for my order to be completed at another business. Filippo's has a great selection of subs, deli meats, toss in the oven/microwave meals, cheeses, and (my reason for stopping by) desserts. Since I was trying to satisfy my sweet tooth craving, I decided to order six cannolis (no, all six cannolis were not for me...only three of them were ;) ). I definitely knew that I was in the right place for cannolis because the cannolis are piped/filled per order. Although I am not Italian, one of my pet peeves regarding a spot that sells cannolis is seeing them prefilled in a display case. It's a pet peeve because you often do not know for how long the filling has been inside of the cannolis, which can sometimes lead to soggy cannolis. I thought the woman working behind the counter (either an owner or manager) was super nice and chatty while piping the cannolis. Once she found out I was somewhat new to area, she gave me a bunch of recommendations about local businesses. Looking forward to visiting again and trying some other Italian specialities.

The friendliness of the staff is second to none. I just love the smiles on the employees faces and their willingness to help with any of their selections. The classic cold cut sub was incredible. And I was able to grab some dry bucatini and a frozen sausage lasagna which were fantastic. Thank you so much!!

Thursday 10/12/2023 I saw that they had won the best subs in moco and I had to try it out for myself. The service was decent. While I was waiting for my subs, The owner came in and was friendly. I ended up getting a Philly steak n cheese sub (with everything on it and mayo) $12.50 and a meatball sub $11.95. The philly steak n cheese sub was horrible and highly disappointing. On the other hand, the meatball sub was pretty good and was what I was expecting from the winners of the best subs in moco. Steak n cheeses definitely aren't their specialty BUT the meatball sub is for sure. I can't say I agree with the best subs in moco label but they are still pretty good if you are talking about the meatball sub. I could see myself returning and I'd recommend people come by to try the meatball sub (avoid the steak n cheese).

Good roast beef sub and is very consistent with all orders. Certainly would go back if I am in the Wheaton area.

Somehow, I've lived ten minutes away from this place for years and never heard of it until today, at which point I had to stop in. It's in a little bit of a rundown strip along Triangle Rd in Wheaton. Confusingly, all the parking spots in front are numbered and marked reserved -- it turns out that each shop gets 2-3 spots in front. But there's also a pay lot down the way. The staff was very friendly, and welcoming when I went in, and immediately offered to help. A little kid came in and was treated to cookies. It's that kinda old fashioned, neighbourhood place. I got a couple of canoli, which were delicious (though maybe a bit sweeter than I am used to), and a big assortment of cheese and salumi. Prosciutto de Parma, Capicola, and more! Also free mozzarella balls, big bundles of cheese, and some fresh pasta. Haven't eaten it all yet, but I will... soon. :)

Found this spot on yelp when I was out of town off the reviews and was not disappointed. True Italian deli. Very friendly staff, they could tell it was my first time and gave me quick run down of store and there subs. Philly cheesestake was great and authentic! Highly recommend.

This place deserves all the praise. It's fast friendly and consistent. Going back to order the subs, they recommended the panino as being most popular. And after the first bite, they were correct. It was probably the best Italian sub in Moco. I should of gotten extra meat for an extra $2 in hindsight. Tomatoes and onions were crisp fresh and refreshing. Get the large if your hungry, the half will not fill you up. Parking can be tight, becareful to not park in the other business spots.

A delicious market! I came in on a Saturday morning for some cold cuts, cheese, and cannoli. I got half a pound of prosciutto, capicola, soppressata and pancetta (they were out of guanciale), a pound of beautiful fresh provolone, fresh mozzarella balls, and cannolis. Everything was so fresh and delicious, and the staff was friendly and helpful. They also have a deli area where you can order fresh sandwiches and pastas, as well as a freezer and refrigerated section with pastas, sauces, more cheese, sweets.

I have been ordering hot and cold sandwiches for a while from this deli. The sandwiches have been very filling. My favorites are the steak and cheese and the Italian cold cuts. The sandwiches are consistently prepared and rhe veggiesbare fresh. Sandwiches are wrapped very well so traveling with them are easy. It would be awesome if they also offered French fries. Delicious Italian bakery and deli. Warm service and friendly service and my favorite OWNER ran. The food is exactly as it's advertised but you can taste the love in the food! The big WOW and why I give it 5 stars is because the owner is there and takes pride, service is fabulous because they are down to earth and human like that old time deli feel, the food is cooked right there AND they have this amazing pastry that I have never had before that was just OMG good if you like donuts and ricotta cheesecake. It's called ZEPPOLE. It's only baked on the weekend, don't even try and share this!! It'a soooo good. I want one just writing this review. This is a great party treat and something you should definitely call and order ahead if you plan on buying bulk. People drive hours for this and I can see why. Another YUMMY rare find is an Italian HERB soda. I LOVE BITTERS and carbonation. This is the drink!! Bitters are actually very good for you so I'm sure this mocktale must be good for you in some way. If you are like me and enjoy bitter tasting foods, herbs and bitter, try this soda! It's Organic Chinotto. I ordered a Panini Sub light and clean tasting for a sub. I added spicy peppers and it wasn't that spicy to me. So if you like hot but not too hot, add it. I love they have awesome chips to choose from as well. The Funky chips were a nice flavors of salt and sweet. What I would definitely add is an organic green salad with dark leafy veggies or a yummy beet salad. If you are a veggie and fruit eater, this has limited options. They do have a salad but, idk how good that is. This seemed to be comfort food all the way. I can't remember if this place had coffee or not? Those pastries with a good cup of coffee or cappuccino would be a fabulous treat. This is a neighborhood gem. Must try :-) Many languages are spoken there at least 3- English, Italian, Spanish, etc.

Open as of June 2021. Accepts both cash and credit card. Delivery through delivery apps such as UberEats and Doordash. I never tried this place before and was craving for some Italian sandwiches. Decided to give this place a try. WOW, I got to admit, I am a fan of this food establishment. We decided to try their cold cut, steak and cheese and their spaghetti and meatballs. Please note we paid $8.99 for the spaghetti and meatballs (this is not the frozen version). First off, the spaghetti and meatballs comes in a large bowl enough for 2-3 people as side dishes. The red sauce has tons of good flavor. Wished there was more sauce though. Comes topped with cheese. In terms of meatballs, our dish only came with 2 meatballs. The noodles were more on the thick side which I appreciate. Had a nice chew to it. Definitely kid friendly if you are trying to find dishes for children. Up next is the steak and cheese. The meat (steak) was flavorful. Not sure if its entirely homemade or store bought. It's a bit on the peppery side. Comes with cheese and optional toppings such as lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, onion, oil & vinegar. And of course cheese. The individual toppings were pretty good. The bread that holds it together soaks up all the juices and sweat from all the other ingredients and has a nice chew to it. It was really good. Not sure if its the best cheesesteak I've tasted, but it was good. Wished there was a bit more meat. If you want a little bit of heat to it, I recommend asking to put in hot peppers. Last, the cold cut. According to my fellow Yelp reviewer, this sandwich is a must try. In my honest opinion, I think this sandwich is a true winner. Haven't had cold cuts in a while so I wanted to give this place a try. Boy, it did not disappoint. Recommend asking for everything in terms of toppings. With each topping, it adds a good bite to it. Mayo, Oil/Vinegar and hot pepper is a MUST on this sandwich. If you can't decide what size sandwich to get, trust me and get the LARGE. You can thank me later :) Overall, if you are in the mood for a delicious Italian sandwich, then look no further. This sandwich spot is pretty good. Definitely recommend this place to my fellow Yelpers. Prices here are reasonable and will include a menu w/ my review. Again, when in doubt, get the large sandwich. Also, their spaghetti and meatballs is kid friendly.

10 years of frequenting my local favorite Italian deli, Filippio's, seems like a long time, but its not when its more like visiting friends. When I stop in, its more like a supermarket purchase as I stock up on spices, olive oil & balsamic vinegar, pastas, gnocchi, frozen prepped lasagnas, the most delicious Italian cookies, cannollis, fresh Italian bread, sweet Italian sausages, and of course an Italian cold cut sandwich for lunch or dinner. Their owner Filippo & his staff are always welcoming an are truly some of the nicest people. The truth be told: You'll find the finest amaretto cookies and cannollis here, hands down!

I'm on a mission to try local spots and I am so happy that this place was on my list. I've been here twice - first time I got a cold cut combo and the next time I got a steak and cheese, while I brought my sister who got a turkey sandwich. I loved all of the sandwiches and there is something for everyone here. Their portions are anything but skimp and the bread is soft and fresh! They have a great selection of cheeses, breads, olives, and some pastries which I have not had the chance to try. Their customer service is great and I was greeted with a smile upon entry and assured that I was getting everything that I wanted before leaving.

Haven't been here since it was Marchones. Just as good or maybe better. Five stars all the way.

Our go-to for Italian sandwiches and platters for catering-type events. Love the variety and the ability to customize a little. Also love their relationship with the community and the length of time that they've been in Wheaton. The cookie platters are always a popular option and great variety. Embarrassed to say I haven't tried the cannoli yet, but they always look delicious

Filippo's is just an amazing place. Starting from the outstanding customer service (especially if you catch Filippo there), from the ladies at the sandwich shop, the delicious sandwiches, the old-fashion yet welcoming environment, to the deli section. Everything is great. I love the love they put in everything they do, that reflects in their food. I mean, those subs are banging! Everything is always super fresh and the portions are generous. I love it.

I was looking for a meatball sub in the area. And this spot hit just the right spots with my taste buds. The bread wasn't too mushy from the sauce. It held up enough for me to eat it without a lost meatball. Definitely a place I would go again. No frills. But does the job. Love it

I love this little deli for the following reasons: -fresh food -sweet staff -reasonable prices -speedy service - the unpretentious way that they do everything! The food here is amazing. I usually get a hoagie and it never disappoints. The bread is fresh and soft while the meat is fresh. All and all this is a go to when I'm in Wheaton.

I've been ordering delivery from here for the better part of a year. From the very first order I noticed the quality of this business. Our orders are always here very quickly and accurately. After visiting the store for the first time I love this place even more. It was toward the end of the work day, but everyone there was calm and pleasant. Everyone smiled and made eye contact, making sure to get the toppings on my sub just the way I wanted them. I definitely will be continuing to order food here, and I'll have to make more of an effort to stop in rather than just relying on delivery so I can say hello to everyone. This place is always a treat when I visit home from Texas! My family is Italian and has been coming here for years. This place has everything from pastas to panettone. You can grab pastas, gnocchi, and cheeses or get subs and bakery items to go. I love the cold cut sub and panino. My husband is a meatball sub lover and says this is the best he's had! Cannoli are always a treat. You can't go wrong with really anything here. Definitely recommend!

The ABSOLUTE BEST steak and cheese in this area!! Very reasonable prices and authentic Italian offerings. It's like a slice of Mulberry St. dropped in the middle of Wheaton. Order early and pick up, they close pretty early, 6PM.

Such fresh bread! Perfect assembly of the sun so it wasn't soggy for delivery. Really enjoyed the panino sub.

Such a great place! Always loved their subs here, so decided to stop by for lunch and split a few subs. One of my favorites is the Panino and also tried the Steak and Cheese for the first time. The Panino is as good as ever and the ingredients were so fresh. The steak and cheese was great! The meat was seasoned perfectly and would give any Philly cheesesteak a run for their money. Used my MoCo passport to get a free cannoli and it was awesome. They make their own cream and fill them to order; so good. I grew up having a small mom & pop Italian deli near me and this brings back so many good memories. If you haven't been here, do it now!

Rich was walking in Wheaton and called to ask if I wanted him to pick up a sub from Filippo's for lunch. Sounded like a great idea. He says the shop was clean and well organized. There was a nice selection of Italian staples like olives, anchovies, pasta, etc. In the frozen cases there was lasagna and other entrees. Rich was happy to see they have frozen pizza dough, which he needs for Thanksgiving garlic knots. In addition to the pizza dough Rich ordered a turkey and cheese sub with everything except hot peppers. He ordered a large and it was huge. It was stuffed with plenty of turkey and cheese and had a nice amount of lettuce, tomato and onions. My one critique, and this is just my personal preference, the roll was soft. I really prefer a roll with a little bite to it, but otherwise it was a really good sub. Rich was very impressed with how helpful and friendly the staff were. We would definitely go back. I'm looking forward to trying some of the prepared entrees.

I don't know how it took us so long to find this place but we're going to have to return often to make up for lost time. My kid got hurt skiing last weekend and turns out the ski patrol that helped us is also a firefighter in Wheaton - we got to chatting and he mentioned Filippos. We figured that firefighters usually know their stuff about good places to eat so we'd check it out. He was 100% right. We usually get our Italian subs from Santuccis but this was better. And Santuccis is really good so that's saying something. We also got a meatball sub and it was fantastic - flavorful and so cheesy. I'm just sad we didn't get two larges because now we're out of sandwich and I don't want to be done eating them!

Flippo's subs are very good! They make the subs to order. The owner is always there and very helpful. I would like to try some of the cold cuts that they sell.

This place is really great. The parking however leaves a lot to be desired. In any case, if you want a real throwback to the Italian subs of the 80s and 90s these guys will have you covered. Fresh delicious authentic Italian meat yummy wonderful Italian bread, great sauces, and fresh veggies on there. Amazing! During lunchtime, it can get busy, a sure sign that they are very good. They handle the line, professionally and quickly, and it is definitely worth the wait. The prices reflect the quality of the food.

Came for a sandwich, left with a sandwich, a black-and-white cookie, and two cannolis! If I had been going straight home, I probably would've purchased some of the delicious goods from the refrigerated cases. This place has a great selection of Italian food. I got the small roast beef sub with everything on it (lettuce, tomato, cheese, mayo and peppers). It was a pretty good sandwich. There was a deal with chips and a drink for $6.99. So I ended up with even more then I had expected! The cannoli was very good. The shell was crunchy and the filling sweet. The cookie was delicious. I'd return for these alone. And actually I'd recommend coming in if you need a tray of cookies for an event. They reminded me of the Italian bakeries from where I grew up in NJ. Bottom line: I will be back for cookies! And probably to try the meatball sub and buy some gnocchi while I'm at it.

When I needed ladyfingers to make my own tiramisu, I searched everywhere to no avail but Filippo's had it. They had the best quality too for tiramisu. I have tried their frozen pastas which are so delicious. I have heard their deli sandwiches are quite good too so I have to try them next time I go back.

Wonderful and friendly staff, great subs! The best I've ever had in this area since living here the last 18 years. Tried the Fillipo's meatball sub for the first time on Saturday and it was simply a delicious and well-prepared masterpiece of a meal. Highly recommend this gem of a place.

Filippo's may be the most complete Italian deli in Montgomery County. Some have cold cuts, some have baked goods, some has selections of pasta. Filippo's has it all plus the best pizza dough I've found and at a bargain price. Others have praised their sandwiches but they may have the definitive local cheesesteak. I don't know if they still do it but they used to bring in their rolls from Philadelphia. Hidden on the street behind 'Dunkin but worth seeking out.

Wonderful deli, friendly service. We ordered an antipasto platter for Christmas Eve and it was fresh and delicious. You can Choose your meats and cheeses (though we went for a recommendation from the deli and were not disappointed!) Pair with a loaf of their fresh baked Italian bread (and a glass -or more- of red wine!) and our holiday family gathering was all set!

That was great. Amaretti was excellent. The atmosphere was quiet but warm. Our waiter was quick to get our drink orders almost immediately after we being seating.

We drove up from DC because Filipino had real deal Italian cookies. He made a tray of these amazing cookies for my daughter's wedding. We were starved and also got a couple of sandwiches for the road. Major yum. Grazie!

I now own 2 restaurants in Houston and after 5 years away this place is one of few that I'm visiting. They haven't changed a bit, you are treated like family, clean environment and great prices! Stop by and support this small business, it's by a mile one of Wheaton's/silver spring best kept secret.

This is my go to place for fantastic paninis, tiramisu and cookies in Montgomery County, MD. Filippo and his family really make people feel at home once you are in the place, that's a huge plus.

Love their selection. Searched high and low for guanciale to make carbonara. Finally, came across this lovely market. The selection and service is excellent.
