"What started as a rotating special at the now-closed Bar King has become its own brand — Fills, a Berliner shop in downtown Portland, has opened this doughnut, soft serve, and burger stand at the center of the outdoor plaza surrounding this Chefstable dining complex." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Overall not a bad experience just not anything too special either. I was the first customer to arrive on a Sunday, they open at 8am and I was there at 8:06. Doors were still locked. I was pretty excited to be the first person in of the day. Donuts were very cold, mild on flavor, and overall just kind of "meh" in my opinion. Staff was very nice and the location is great but at $4 a donut I had higher expectations.

My whole family LOVES Fills!! The donuts are delicious and fresh. Our fave are the crullers. Every flavor is delicious. But they also have our favorite breakfast sandwiches and burgers in town! The buns for those are made with the same brioche they use for their donuts. Ridiculously tasty!! Super friendly staff, and I'm so grateful they also have delivery available to our area (not many cool places do).

It was a nice little surprise to find this place this morning right down the street from where I live in LO. How have I been missing out for an entire year?? Do I live under a rock? (possibly) Anyways, these donuts not only look and sound amazing, but they taste fantastic as well. I’ve always been a big fan of any kind of “filled” donut, and this place has that technique nailed down to a science. They have such unique flavor profiles (both sweet and savory) that they are sure to be giving even Blue Star a run for their money! I had the luxury of trying three different donuts this morning: - Oregon Berry, similar to your classic jelly filled, but oh so much tastier - Maple Bacon Butterscotch - hello! did someone really just say butterscotch??! sign me up… twice! - Everything Bagel - yes, I know, this sounds a little “out there”, but you’re just going to have to trust me on this one, because it’s positively DIVINE! I do have to agree with what one other Yelper said, that the filling-to-donut ratio might have been a little underwhelming on the filing side. However I think that the flavor and quality of the donuts themselves makes this a non-factor and not worth deducting any stars over. So all in all, I give this a strong 5 out of 5 experience! And I will definitely be back soon to try some of their other exciting flavor concoctions, and maybe even the donut bun burger… (hey, the reviews say they are great!) So until next time Fills, you keep doing you, cause you do you pretty well!

OMG they're good! I just had the best burger and fries! Their buns are the way and the truth. Their donuts are also phenomenal. I'll be eating here again tomorrow, for sure!

Fills in Lake Grove offers a wide variety of “Berliner-style” donuts. The first thing you should know is that a Berliner donut is pretty strict in its variations - it’s a jelly filled donut and sometimes it’s filled with lemon custard or other Marmelade but that is often seasonal and around Easter. In Berlin they are sold at bakeries and train stations next to the other baked goods like pretzels and cakes and are not always in a wide variety except around Easter. Otherwise they are more likely a granulated sugar coated jelly donut. Fills takes the concept of the “Berliner” jelly-filled donut and expands on it offering a lot of creative twists like the sesame and Pimento cheese donut, and the combination of salt/caramel/other flavor enhancers to their creations. These donuts won’t win in the category of most traditional because they are a break from tradition. But, as far as gourmet donuts and pastries go they are fantastic. We will go back for the burgers, but our selection of donuts was fantastic and we look forward to this place getting a new following in the newly renovated Mercantile Village, near Kruse Way in Lake Oswego. Sometimes a new twist on an old favorite becomes a new favorite.

Wanted to try out their donut so went in. Donuts were good, different flavors. however for $4 per donut I was expecting something more. Too expensive for just this. Staff was friendly n good. Sadly won’t visit again for this price!

They quickly become my favorite donut spot!!! The Boston custard filled donuts are to die for. Love their crullers too. Even the breakfast sandwiches are super yummy!!!

Best donuts! The cruellers are the best! More like a churro to me than the traditional French crueller but nevertheless, delicious! Crispy outside with a moist (yeah i said it...) custard center. Try the vanilla one. It's so good! Actually all of the flavors are good but vanilla, raspberry abd maple are where it's at! The only con to the cruellers is they don't last long so buy what you are planning on eating within a few hours. After a few hours the grease sets in and they lose their outer crispy crust. We have gone back several times over the past few weeks. We tried their breakfast sandwich. Amazing! Unique flavors and the eggs were so soft. It was hard sharing it haha. Also tried their special donut. It was a filled donut with oregon berry and vanilla jam rolled in sugar. Holy smokes!! It was so perfect. I highly recommend giving it a try!
