London’s coffee and bakery scene is nothing short of competitive, and after trying countless spots across the city, it’s not easy for a new place to impress me especially when it comes to pastries. But Filo in South Kensington genuinely surprised me.
I tried their **pecan Danish pastry**, and it was a standout. Perfectly baked with a crisp outer layer and a delicate, buttery texture inside. What I loved most was the balance—it wasn’t overly sugary or heavy with cream, just subtly sweet with rich pecan flavour. Paired with their expertly brewed coffee, it made for a perfect mid-morning treat.
The pastry counter is well stocked with a wide variety of tempting options that I’m already keen to come back for. On top of that, the **staff were incredibly welcoming**, taking the time to offer recommendations and make me feel at home on my first visit.
In short, Filo strikes the right balance between quality, flavour, and atmosphere. I’ll definitely be returning to explore more of their menu.
