Filo - Review - South Kensington - London - The Infatuation

"A shiny all-day cafe on South Kensington’s pedestrianised Bute Street, Filo is one of our favourite spots for a late-night coffee and chill, or to people-watch from the outside tables when it’s nice. There’s a menu of decent Lebanese food, and some indulgent-looking pastries on the counter in case you’re peckish—we’d get the Cinnabon-looking cinnamon roll. But if you’re just looking for a comfortable spot for a 7pm cappuccino, Filo is the one. Plus, they serve Spanish lattes if you’re a fan of your coffee on the sweeter side. photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat video credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat" - Rianne Shlebak

Followed the reviews, went straight on & ordered The Pistachio Spanish Latte & the Tiramisu Danish! Omg! Thank you to all the reviewers - both of some so good! Silky, delicious, smooth! Next time I wouldn’t order a sweet coffee with a pastry! It’s at a good location near Natural History Museum and the prices are reasonable too! Love!

London’s coffee and bakery scene is nothing short of competitive, and after trying countless spots across the city, it’s not easy for a new place to impress me especially when it comes to pastries. But Filo in South Kensington genuinely surprised me. I tried their **pecan Danish pastry**, and it was a standout. Perfectly baked with a crisp outer layer and a delicate, buttery texture inside. What I loved most was the balance—it wasn’t overly sugary or heavy with cream, just subtly sweet with rich pecan flavour. Paired with their expertly brewed coffee, it made for a perfect mid-morning treat. The pastry counter is well stocked with a wide variety of tempting options that I’m already keen to come back for. On top of that, the **staff were incredibly welcoming**, taking the time to offer recommendations and make me feel at home on my first visit. In short, Filo strikes the right balance between quality, flavour, and atmosphere. I’ll definitely be returning to explore more of their menu.

Best coffee in this area. We were so lucky to end up staying in the apartment just in front and got our daily coffee here. The barista knows exactly what he is doing. And the pastries were delicious as well. Almond or Pistachio Croissants were A++. One more day in this city, one more coffee we're going to get at Filo!

All 5 stars are deserved for this tiny yet perfect coffee shop. I recommend the Cortado and Flight white drinks. Also try Croissants cashew. We were served by Diana, she is kind and helpful lady. Thanks Diana.

My girlfriend & I stumbled across this coffee shop while walking around the area, & we’re so glad we did! This is one of my favorite coffee shops in London. The Spanish Pistachio Latte was incredible —genuinely so creamy & delectable. This place has set the standard for my pistachio lattes, & I haven’t been able to find anything better than this. Would absolutely come again & try their pastries the next time we’re in South Kensington!

Tiramisu danish was delicious!! perfect balance of crispiness of the pastry and right amount of cream and a hint of butter at the bottom! Highly recommend! ordered three pastries, tiramisu danish, raspberry chocolate bun and honey croissant with custard cream and pistachio. We enjoyed tiramisu danish the most then the honey croissant was also amazing especially with added custard cream and pistachios. They go well together. Wouldn’t recommend raspberry chocolate bun as it was too dry. I personally like raspberry chocolate but not on a bun. Iced mocha was nice too! Would go back again for tiramisu danish!

This is a REAL hidden gem! The Zaatar Knot was AMAZING! I’m surprised that this place is not viral. The pastry was perfectly flaky, buttery, flavored with spices and cheese. Still thinking about this!
