Filó Brazil - Review - Holloway - London - The Infatuation

"Even though it’s on a corner of Holloway Road, Filó runs on island time. The Brazilian bar-cum-restaurant operates at its own leisurely pace that you can’t help but embrace with a cold beer and some pão de queijo by your side. On weekends, couples drop in for a caipirinha and to enjoy the live music—though there are impromptu jam sessions other days of the week. The foliage-filled dining room is made up of friends, staff, or staff sitting with a group of friends, as they enjoy some sweet and tender pork ribs and generous feijoada. The beans in this stew are lush, filled with chunks of sausage and topped with a crispy slice of pork belly. It’s not a meal to be approached lightly, but Filó’s attitude is as easy-going as they come. Food Rundown Feijoada Filó’s version of Brazil’s most nourishing dish is generous, but also full of finesse. A slice or pork belly is wonderfully crunchy with soft meat and the bean stew is that kind that you keep spooning. The accompaniments of garlic rice, an orange slice, collard greens, and toasted cassava add welcome sweetness and texture too. photo credit: Jake Missing" - Jake Missing

The 9 Best Brazilian Restaurants In London - London - The Infatuation

"Grab one of Filó Dining’s outdoor tables in the late afternoon sunshine, order a caipirinha or a pint, and you could almost be forgiven for thinking you’re at a bohemian São Paulo bar, not in Islington. Inside it’s a pub-cum-restaurant and exudes fun, with colourful murals and Brazilian flags adorning the walls. Portions are generous and dishes feature Brazilian classics with modern twists. Pork ribs are rubbed in molasses atop moreish creamy cassava. Minas cheese, which chef Aline Quina makes herself, is salty, squeaky, and drizzled with truffle honey. A “ceviche” of palm hearts, mango, and avocado is a rare good vegan dish at a Brazilian restaurant. The star is feijoada—rich, creamy, with all the trimmings. Go when there’s live music and you’ll probably stay, snacking until closing time." - tome morrissy swan

The 23 Best Restaurants In Islington

"With colourful murals and Brazilian flags adorning the walls, this pub-cum-Brazilian restaurant could fool you into thinking you’re at a bohemian São Paulo bar, not in Islington. The pork ribs are rubbed in molasses atop moreish, creamy cassava, while the feijoada—rich, creamy, with all the trimmings—is the star of the show. Go when there’s live music and you’ll probably stay, snacking and drinking caipirinhas until closing time." - jake missing

We had a really fantastic meal at this restaurant. Great food, service atmosphere, cocktails that left all three of us really satisfied. The burger with cassava fries were a personal highlight served in an amazing Brazilian cheese bread bun. The desserts were incredible as were the starters and I can’t wait to go back one day!

Had the chicken+okra dish, it was sumptuous but wasnt the most flavour packed as i was expecting it to be. Portion sizes are quite big, service was very welcoming though and atmosphere is well put up i believe. They even said has live music on the weekends

Thank you Chef Aline for a perfect evening! The food, drinks and atmosphere were phenomenal. We felt like we were back in Brasil, so authentic and welcoming. The pão de queijo starter was amazing, I wish I ordered more! I can’t wait to go back and the live music was a wonderful touch, too.

This is the second time we’ve been to Filó Brazil and we were surprised (in a good way) that they had a Sunday menu. Never would I imagine there could be a Brazilian take on the Sunday roast and they pulled it off brilliantly. What a tasty meal! My partner had the stew which was really good and such big portions we had to takeaway some of it! The atmosphere is great, the location is great and the staff are great. I’m surprised that the restaurant has been very quiet on both occasions. Well worth a visit.

Great restaurant/bar whether you’re Brazilian or not, amazing food and friendly staff! There was very good live music when we went (a chilled Samba trio) and we could still have a conversation. Definitely try the chicken heart (trust me!) and the tapioca dadinhos!

Can't say enough good things about the food and dining experience at Filo Brazil. Delicious meals all round at our table. My second time eating Feijoada, which was amazing on its own, but the crispy pork belly accompanyment knocked it out of the park. And if that wasn't enough, the excellent Caipirinhas were the icing on the cake. Go here, it's amazing.

Stopped in for a quick drink after having a large dinner elsewhere and were so intrigued by the menu we had to order a couple of bits! Absolutely delicious, will be back again! Great atmosphere and live music

Our food was excellent - especially the picanha. I really enjoy Brazilian food and I would say this place is both authentic and high quality. The staff were really attentive and friendly.
