This Spanish Island Has 10 Michelin Stars — and Tons of New Luxury Hotels

"Set on 170 acres near the rural town of Caimari and directly into the mountains, Finca Can Beneit felt like a hidden gem when it debuted in 2021: the tiny property has just 10 rooms with exposed stone walls, some with private rooftop terraces, and offers serene pool views along with surrounding vineyards and gardens that make it ideal for hiking, biking, and a restorative, nature-forward stay." - Samantha Brooks

Ca’n Beneït (Mallorca, Balearic Islands) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Finca Ca’n Beneït describes itself as a retreat rather than a hotel, and with its remote location perched up on a hill overlooking the peaks of the Serra de Tramuntana, it certainly does feel like a place to get away from it all. Just ten rooms are housed in the carefully restored 200-year-old former chapel, which sits surrounded by 70 hectares of organic gardens, orchards, and olive groves. A taste of this terroir can be found at Restaurant Mirabona, which takes a farm-to-table approach for its seasonal Mallorcan dishes; the olives are even pressed in the still working centuries-old olive mill. Guests can also enjoy relaxed al fresco dining on the poolside terrace with views of the Tramuntana. Spa time also takes place outdoors, either with one of the hotel’s treatments, a yoga class, or in the secluded open-air plunge pool." - Tablet Hotels

Our stay at Can Beneït was absolutely exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the kindness and professionalism of the staff made us feel truly welcomed. The food was incredible, the property is stunning, and the landscape from the terrace is truly breathtaking, one of those views that stays with you long after you leave. The tranquility of the area adds an extra layer of magic to the whole experience. Toni should be incredibly proud of what has been created here, and especially proud of the amazing team. They were the highlight of our stay and made the experience unforgettable!! We will definitely be returning. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a beautiful, warm, and memorable escape.

Absolutely outstanding! Our stay at Ca’n Beneït was simply perfect, truly the best hotel we have ever stayed at. Every detail was exceptional. Breakfast and dinner were always on point, also the picnic they prepared for us was absolutely delicious. The hotel’s location is breathtaking, surrounded by nature and complete silence. The wine tasting with Amy and the massage with Juana were additional highlights. A very special thanks to Gonzalo, Nacho and Lucas, who made sure our stay was truly special and offered exceptional service throughout our visit. We genuinely cannot wait to come back!

The restaurant is exceptional. The best iberico ham ever. The breakfast is so refined. The owner is so welcoming. The yoga class is very serious high level and the morning hike I felt so blessed. However the heating in the room smelled so we switched it off. They rent a bicycle but it was way too big so I could not ride on. If you don’t do cycling with kids, it might be a bit boring. However for a couple who wanna run again from the city noise, it’s a paradise.

We absolutely enjoyed staying at this lovely small rural inn. The location is quite remote and beautiful, and yet nothing on the island was too far away. The owners have remodeled this little ancient hamlet into a cozy, yet luxurious escape. |Everything about our room was thoughtful, clean and perfect including the biggest fluffiest bath towels that I have seen. |The grounds were lovely and included a good sized heated salt water pool which always had a nice stack of clean towels, plenty of lounge chairs, lemon water and even almonds for guests. There is also an ancient chapel where we did incredible yoga several mornings. We also enjoyed the private boat trip the hotel booked for us out of Soller.|The restaurant had a gorgeous terrace with a view and overall good food. We had a couple of dinners plus breakfasts there, but it was a shame the service was so slow and a bit chaotic. Hoping they get the kinks worked out, so the restaurant is as perfect as the rest of this inn.

I’ve stayed at many beautiful properties around the world, yet Can Beneit easily ranks among my most memorable and enjoyable stays. First of all, the property itself is stunning — but more importantly, it feels organic and authentic. The main building is a 200-year-old farmhouse that still features the original olive oil press, adding a touch of history and charm. The landscaping and gardens are meticulously planned and maintained, and you’ll barely find any plastic used throughout the hotel. Every detail feels thoughtful and well designed. The pool area is beautiful, and the sauna was excellent. Secondly, the service and staff were truly top-notch. Everyone was warm, friendly, and genuinely proud of the place. The housekeeping was almost magical — you’d step out for a moment and return to a spotless room. We were also given lavender sachets to place under our pillows and even received a bottle of homemade olive oil as a gift, which was such a lovely touch. Lastly, the food was an incredible and unexpected highlight — the cherry on top of an already perfect stay. The hotel’s restaurant serves superb dishes made from fresh ingredients sourced directly from their garden. The homemade bread and fresh orange juice every morning were divine. We also tried the tasting menu one evening, and honestly, it rivaled (and even surpassed) many Michelin-starred restaurants in New York City, where we live. Overall, our experience at Can Beneit was exceptional in every way. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

Ca’n Beneït is the rare place where the hotel itself is the destination. From the first minute you pass through the gate, every detail whispers: you can exhale now - the stone paths, serene corners, and thoughtful touches make it effortless to unwind. As a vegan traveler, I’ve never been looked after so well, not even at other top luxury properties. The kitchen went above and beyond with creativity and care at every meal; I felt genuinely seen rather than accommodated. Special thanks to Davide, our outstanding evening waiter, whose warmth and professionalism elevated each dinner. Even the tableware impressed me: beautiful pieces chosen with the same attention to detail found throughout the estate. It’s indicative of the overall philosophy here: nothing is accidental, everything is considered. Most of all, the team is unbelievably welcoming. From reception to restaurant, everyone treats you like an old friend returning home. You relax instantly because they make it so easy to do so. If you value calm, craft, and true hospitality, book Ca’n Beneït without hesitation.

We stayed 4 nights at Ca’n Beneït and it was absolutely wonderful! I’ve never been able to relax so deeply in such a short time, pure comfort and peace from the very first minute. The staff is incredibly attentive and kind, the location and views are truly unique, and the food is simply delicious. Every moment felt special. I just can’t stop raving about it! A place you arrive at and never want to leave. 🌿✨
