21 Picture-Perfect Hotels in Mallorca, From Historic Castles to Wellness Hotspots

"Set in a 13th-century finca on a 99-acre estate, this stay was opened in April 2019 by Unico Hotels (the group behind island refuge Finca Gayeta) and has the apt air of a religious order’s bucolic retreat. Less minimalist and more Shaker-like simple, the 25 rooms free minds of worldly distractions with natural linens, polished concrete wet rooms, milk-white-painted beams, and wooden farm furniture sourced from French flea markets. The only adornments are olive branches from the estate, which encompasses orchards, 29 acres of newly planted vines, hiking paths, an outdoor pool, yoga shalas, and a spa stocked with Natura Bissé products. Farm baskets and wooden boards hang in the breakfast room, where an ancient fireplace has been turned into a loveseat; the spread of chia-seed puddings, Mallorcan coca bread and pan con tomate is eaten on the cobbled terrace over a congregation of olives trees. Meanwhile, the courses at Jacaranda restaurant have been pared down to three farm-fed seasonal choices by chef Baltazar Rigo, with dishes such as fennel soup, broccoli risotto, and carob cake with apricot ice cream." - Roxy Kavousi-Walker, Stephanie Rafanelli

Inside the hotels of the Balearic Islands

"Hidden away on a hundred acres of olive groves, cypress stands, lavender fields, and vineyards, Finca Serena combines traditional architecture with contemporary design. Rooms feature beamed ceilings and arched doorways, and whitewashed walls provide a simple backdrop for a mix of modern and antique-style furnishings and a color palette that’s made up of soothing grays and unfinished wood." - Guide MICHELIN

Finca Serena, Pla de Mallorca - Explore & Book

"Set in Mallorca's agricultural heartland, Finca Serena gazes out over miles of fields, orchards and sloping vine terraces. Every aspect of this immaculately restored finca is in tune with nature and geared towards relaxation: the farm-to-table restaurant, the 25 smart rooms scattered around the farmhouse and its 40-acre grounds, the perfectly manicured gardens, and the excellent spa (who’d know it was once inhabited by cows?). From a hammock on the veranda, catch the scents of lemon and lavender wafting by; from the palm tree-fringed pool, drink in that glorious view. You'll encounter no splashing children here, just the soothing sound of chirruping birds. The mood is sophisticated yet understated, and that includes the mouthwatering food. Seasonal menus change every day, with much produce grown in their own kitchen gardens; we're yet to try it for ourselves but those who have stayed say the food is divine. What with tours of the vineyards and olive groves to join, the two swimming pools, daily yoga classes, and the spa, most who visit choose not to stray. But in case you do, there are Bronze Age sites and quaint windmills to discover, sleepy hilltop villages with cafes and bars, and plenty of climbs from this central spot: rent the mountain bikes and head for the hills. Highs The serene setting and dreamy views… you could easily while away the days just basking by the pool and strolling around the estate Having your senses awakened in the zen-like spa The restaurant’s Mallorquin cuisine is delicious, as is breakfast and their homegrown wines Warm, smiling staff make your stay unforgettable The stylish décor exudes character and charm Lows No children under 14 - a plus for some! A few rooms are without a terrace, but you still get great views This is quiet, rural Mallorca so don't expect nightlife; if you want to eat out you'll need to drive, but Palma is only 30 minutes away" - Handpicked by our hotel experts

Finca Serena Mallorca (Mallorca, Balearic Islands) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Mallorca is far from a well-kept secret — mass tourism, in fact, is a point of contention among locals on this island idyll. But a place like Finca Serena has nothing at all to do with mass tourism. Here, hidden away on a hundred acres of olive groves, cypress stands, lavender fields, and vineyards, is a contemporary luxury boutique hotel that feels a world away from the busy beach resorts and the debaucherous nightlife of Palma." - Tablet Hotels

Such a gorgeous resort! We had such a lovely and relaxing time here. I would recommend this hotel over and over. The hotel is close to the airport although it’s a drive from everything so that is the only thing to consider. If you are looking to relax and stay on resort for majority of your trip this would be the perfect spot for you. The breakfast was incredible, the staff was very kind, their pool area is gorgeous as is the entire property. We had a massage and it was very nice. Their restaurant I was great and had a fixed menu for dinner. Extremely romantic spot. Highly recommend!

This stay exceeded our expectations! Amazing rooms, property, pool, amenities, F&B, and team. I loved spending time here, but it does feel isolated from the rest of the island, which we didn't mind for this trip! Even on a Saturday in August, the pool felt so calm and there was always a lounger available. Note on location: If you are looking a relaxing holiday and don't want to leave the property very much, then this is perfect. But, just beware if you are wanting this to be a jumping off place, it's not the most accessible without a car and at least 30-40min drive to the coast.

Very nice hotel - perhaps not a true five star experience in comparison to luxury hotels in places like Paris or the French Riviera but a comfortable and attractive hotel. The personnel did all seem quite young and thus lacking in true five star hotel service, but the ones we met were uniformly pleasant and trying to please.||The room was quite attractive and spacious, including a nice bathroom. The look was very monochromatic and serene with a feel of understated country elegance - no heavily wrought wood furniture here. Very comfortable.||The breakfast, while not a buffet, was decent. Dinner was also good, though not what one might call super gourmet - fine solid upscale-looking food.||Do take note that the rooms are separate from the reception building, including some that require a decent (though short) climb up/down stairs or a gravel pathway. A bit of a nuisance for a five star hotel experience, particularly for a guest who is of a more advanced age.

Let me first start by saying we really enjoyed our time here. As a 30ish younger couple looking for the time to relax, it was great. But was it 5 stars? Absolutely not. I think what frustrates me was that it’s little things that could have made our stay much better. First the staff. They were trying their best but you could tell they were undertrained and understaffed. The pool. Beautiful and quaint. But for a 5 star hotel, there should always be clean towels at the pool. And a place to put dirty towels? They were just laying all over the loungers all the time. And there should always be some sort of water at the pool for you to drink. Having to place a drink order and wait an extended amount of time was slightly irritating. The drinks. Mediocre at best. For the price point I thought it was pricy for what you got. I’d expect a sangria to have more garnish that just a lime? But okay…. Our room. The morning and evening housekeeping was a really nice touch that we didn’t know we needed. Appreciate that. We did have issues with AC. But told the front desk and it was addressed. Otherwise, no major issues there. Beds were super comfy. The spa was really nice. Sauna wasn’t working so that was a bummer. The lady who did my treatment was SO kind. But I have to say the scrub followed by the massage felt kinda stingy because you got “1 hour” and that included the mid point shower and dressing. The food? Impeccable. So so so so good. Can’t say enough good things here. The cart driver who helped us with our luggage, you rock. The property, 10/10. LOVED the trails. Yoga was amazing. Really enjoyed the classes. Finca Serena, let us know if you care to fix there’s other things. Feel free to email me. We would love to someday come back, but for the current price, we just can’t justify it. Feels unfair to be charging 5 star prices for a 4 star resort.

We expected luxury. What we got was sewage and two hours in a lobby.||Finca Serena was supposed to be the grand finale of our Mallorca trip. Instead, we were greeted by a horrible sewage smell as we walked to our room, which only got worse the closer we got. The stench even followed us inside.||We asked for help immediately. While the front desk staff were lovely (thank you Paula and Maria), we spent over two hours being offered rooms that didn’t match what we booked, being told no manager was available, and watching the hotel list more rooms on Expedia that they told us were “sold out.”||This is a five-star property with five-star pricing — but the service and response fell far short. No management came to speak with us. ||Finca Serena may look beautiful, but this experience left a very sour taste at the end of an otherwise perfect vacation. Major letdown.

Poor check in experience… room wasn’t ready (which is totally fine), but wouldn’t bring bags back for us from luggage room. Made us change in luggage room across the hotel with bugs / spiderwebs vs bringing the luggage to change in a proper restroom We’ve also had an issue with the air conditioning (see other reviews). Broke randomly in the middle of the night and they don’t have anyone on site to fix it “will need to speak to manager later” Forgot to book my wife’s spa appointment after discussing live and then they “were fully booked” Run, don’t walk from this place. I’d rather stay at a motel 6 (which is great) Listen to the other real reviews

The views are stunning, the vibe super peaceful, and the service couldn’t have been better, everyone was so kind and welcoming.||Breakfast was full of fresh, high-quality products (very tasty) and dinner at Jacaranda blew us away. The sweet potatoes were amazing, but the meat… hands down the best I’ve had in my life!||It's a perfect escape to be relax and enjoy around nature, beautiful place in Mallorca!

Disappointing Start to What Should Have Been a Perfect Ending We arrived at Finca Serena excited to wrap up our 10-day Mallorca trip at what’s marketed as a top-tier luxury property. Sadly, it’s been the biggest disappointment of our entire trip. On the way to our room, we were hit with a strong sewage smell — not a passing whiff, but a lingering, offensive stench that only got worse the closer we got. It was clearly coming from the area outside our stretch of rooms, and it followed us into ours. We immediately returned to the front desk. A staff member came with us, confirmed the smell was awful, and said they had never noticed it before. We asked for a room change. They told us nothing was available in our category, but offered us an “upgrade” — a loft room with no terrace or garden view (which we had specifically booked), up a steep staircase, and with a much darker interior. Not exactly an upgrade. They offered us a free dinner if we accepted the swap, which frankly felt like a weak attempt to smooth over a bad situation. While we waited for someone to speak with management, we checked Expedia and found other rooms available — including ones with terraces. When we brought this up, the front desk staff seemed surprised. They said they’d speak to management again. Eventually, they returned and said they could offer another room — farther away, down a rocky path, and still without the enclosed private patio we had originally booked. All the while, Expedia continued to show other room options available. We asked again to speak directly to a manager. The response? “Not until tomorrow.” This isn’t a minor hiccup — it’s a major lapse in service, communication, and accountability. At this price point, it’s completely unacceptable. To be clear: this isn’t a knock on the front desk team. Paula and Maria were kind, understanding, and clearly did what they could. But they were limited — either by policy or by management’s lack of engagement. The fault lies squarely with management for their poor problem-solving, lack of transparency, and unwillingness to personally address a legitimate issue. Finca Serena might look the part, but it fell far short of the standards it claims to uphold. We had friends recommend staying at Es Racó d’Artà instead — and now we’re wishing we had.
