Went here today for the Jackson Wang's MagicMan II album release event. The staff was extremely friendly. Very well organized and communicative. Thank you to Matt especially for giving us a great experience, laughing with us in line and making the wait go by just a little faster. Thank you to Jackson & Fingerprints for putting on this event. Will deffinately be back for regular shopping and other future events. 💚

Awesome record store that besides a great selection has excellent service. They have great events as well. It looks like they might also deal in used stereo equipment. Support your local music store and love doing it.

Loving the new location, what I love about fingerprints is that they are always hosting shows, listening parties, midnight sales and giveaways.

This is a hidden gem. There is a great selection of music, and the ambiance is so dope! I love the vibe inside.

I haven't visited in 10 years, so this was more of a reunion, and it did not disappoint. They have a great selection of music and a great range of vinyl genres. I was shocked to see Kpop in stock. They have a lot of promos, memorabilia, local art prints, shirts, trinkets, pins, cassettes, and more! I recommend this place. They also host small shows and signings there. It's a very lovely and intimate experience for the artist and fans. If you like music, this is a good stop if you're in the area.😊

Although I was looking for a music store that sold guitars and such , I found the place amusing and interesting. As some musicians practice a different approach to "music enjoyment" we listen to learn or to hear self. I don't own any stereo components. I haven't purchased a record or CD or whatever, in many years. So that is my point. I really enjoyed walking through the store and seeing the posters ,t shirts , trinkets .. aside from what is a very profound and valuable selection of vinyl, tapes and movies. Real classics . This place,I thought to myself has everything but without all the clutter of things,no uninteresting things, like calendars or candle s for example. I was so appreciative of what I had experienced I made sure to buy something, so I bought some cool decals for my guitar case . If you are looking for something rare I bet this place has it.

It was a honor to perform here, as I heard it like never happens for someone like me (independent artist) so yea big deal! 🤩 Thank you sound engineer for a stress relieving sound check and stage setup. Thank you, Long Beach, for supporting and dancing along. Besides that, the staff are really cool and knowledgable with the items they have or wouldn't have in the store so you dont waste time, because the collection is so vast. This is the place for real record enthusiasts. They have everything that is worth having in a collection here.

New location, same great store. This review is long overdue for what is easily one of the best music stores in Southern California. There's a mix of cassettes, CDs, vinyl, and even DVDs for people wanting to something besides music. Staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. No elitism or snobbiness based on your music preferences, just enjoyment of music and different genres. Fingerprints also gets a good number of signed releases from a wide variety of artists. I've gotten signed vinyl/CDs for artists like Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Megan Thee Stallion, and Lady Gaga. These were all at a reasonable price, too. Fingerprints also hosts a lot of cool events like signings, smaller shows, and listening parties. I live in Orange County and regularly make the trek to Fingerprints.

Extremely disappointed and frankly disgusted by the shady practices at Fingerprints. I came in shortly after Record Store Day to pick up a record I had reserved. While at the counter, I noticed a copy of the Wicked RSD exclusive vinyl sitting there in full view. I'd been hunting that release, so my partner politely asked about it. The cashier quickly shut us down and claimed it wasn't for sale. He said the store received four copies: sold two, raffled one, and that the final one--again, sitting openly on the counter--wasn't available. Then came the kicker: he asked what the record was going for online and looked it up on Discogs in front of us. That's when the situation went from disappointing to blatantly unethical. Gatekeeping sought-after RSD releases, flaunting them in plain view, and checking their resale value in front of paying customers isn't just unprofessional, it's exploitative. It completely goes against the values Record Store Day is supposed to stand for, not price-watching and hoarding exclusives for backdoor deals or personal profit. This store clearly puts hype and resale value above fairness and customer respect. I won't be returning and I'd advise any serious collector to think twice.

Long overdue review, but Fingersprints is an absolute gem and staple to the music community in Long Beach and Southern CA! I really appreciate how hard they work to ensure the fans can actually have a chance to buy special items such as signed vinyls. For the first time in my life, I was able to get a signed vinyl (Sabrina Carpenter Fruitcake) because they have a system where fans must answer a few basic trivia questions. I was worried I wouldn't be able to since I'm not good at trivia, but IMO the questions were very reasonable and they gave us a couple of chances. They do this to prevent resellers and I'm so appreciative for this, because I'm unable to beat the bots online. I also feel their products are very reasonably priced and they post promotions and events on their social media. Pay attention to their IG account for announcements of special items, giveaways and events!

I can't believe that I haven't been to Fingerprints Music before. It reminds me of Amoeba because of the amount of record/cd/media selection and size of the store. No dedicated lot but found metered parking very easy across the street. Friendly staff. Prices are all over the place. The selection is great and if you can find a good bargain here, all the better.

Just the best place for vinyl, used CDs, used movies, and other collectibles in Long Beach. Nobody beats them! If you are lucky, you might get to attend one of their many amazing in-store performance and record release parties. Before the pandemic, we saw Violent Femmes, Dead Sara, Wolf Alice, and The Silversun Pickups. Typically, an album order is all you need to get inside. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and for how MASSIVE the store space is, the prices are really not that bad. I scored 3 CDs for $3.99 each and a full Season 2 of The Simpsons for $6.99. Value, baby!

Wow what a selection of vinyl! Well organized and over a great variety of music leaning towards rock. They have both new and used vinyl. Next time? I'm going to browse all day and check out their full collection.

i had an absolutely terrible experience with customer service and not wanting to refund an order i never received, they don't deserve the business they have if they're completely neglectful of their customers well being and money and only care about themselves and the fact they're losing money.

I came to fingerprints for the first time on the last day they were open at this location. There were so many records and it was bigger than I expected it to be. There was a pretty good record selection, as they had all the artists I wanted; but the records were pretty overpriced. The service was friendly and I appreciated that they let you enjoy browsing without being in your business. I thought it was cool that they had other memorabilia such as posters, videos and shirts, besides just records, I plan to be back here when they open their new location, but I would definitely pick and choose which record I get here, knowing the price.

Better location but the vibe that the older location is missing. It felt more like a wherehouse but it's a new location so it probably will get better. Big selection. Prices seem to be not as good as the older location but reasonable.I'll cone back because I feel it will regain the charm it had lost from the old location.

My 4th time here and once again a pleasant experience! Staff were organized and friendly - wait time was short due to the store capping The Offspring event at 150 people . The $ 17.50 price for CD + signing was a fantastic value . Can't wait to return the next time one of my faves is there !

The new location is open and bright! Lots of used and new records for great prices! The owner and staff are amazing. I will definitely make this part of my stop every time I'm in the area!

Record Store Day Black Friday 11/24/23 The Mamas and the Papas live at the Monterey Pop Festival was a special limited edition GOLD colored vinyl record made for Black Friday with only 2750 copies made worldwide. It sold out quick at all other RSD participating outlets. I was able to get a copy at Fingerprints Music. I purchased on Saturday and received on Monday in pristine condition. The fastest shipping ever and packaged up with Love. To be honest a great secure pack job. You rock! Many thanks!

Fingerprints is an immersive record store where you can find great gems. Small artist come here to perform & do signings for fans. There is a great vibe and definitely a selective amount of value. The service was nice. I asked to use the restroom before the show started and was able to use the record stores restroom. Only thing I would recommend is for the record store (stage) to be higher elevated for a better view for everyone seeing the artist perform.

They moved locations! I had no idea. New location seems a bit smaller! But I could be wrong. They have plenty of street parking. The inside is super organized which is great and easy to dig. I felt like not the same finds in used vinyls but plenty of new - everyone is super friendly.

This place is rad. Went to a signing here over the weekend and all of the employees are really cool and helpful. Super cool shop as well, highly recommend.

Love fingerprints! As a Long Beach local, this is a staple. Fun to just walk around and browse, or to meet celebrities like I met my favorite Omar Apollo this past weekend.

Came here for RSD - Got my Prince record. Very pleased with the vinyl selections. Staff was friendly.

Their prices are so high. I don't know how anybody can afford to buy records with shops like this one being the most popular in the area.

Been coming here a couple of times over the past few years. The place has always been clean, pretty organized, and personally feels like it's huge for a downtown record spot. The staff has always been insanely welcoming and ready to help out. Have found some really good deals, more specifically with CD's. Last time I came here, both the cashiers at the front were sweet to talk to, especially the girl with the cool glasses, she was sweet and cracking jokes. Safe to say my favorite record store!

So happy to see them so much closer to home, they are now just settling in their new Space, went on Record Store Day and left with some goodies, will definitely be back at least once a week to check them out

Such a cool store with tons of CDs, records, cassettes, and more! My friend mentioned they also host small concerts occasionally.

They always have the best exclusive records and make sure they go to TRUE fans!! I love how they do trivia questions to make sure it doesn't go to flippers; it makes the wait go so much faster too!! I've been a HUGEEEE fan of Sabrina Carpenter, so I'm really happy to score this signed deluxe record!

Been trying with this place for years - just really can't stand it. This is primarily for used record collectors - this place has a lot of volume but the prices, particularly for the somewhat harder to find stuff, just really suck - just hard to hard to understand the thought process behind pricing stuff for as much if not more than most expensive prices online. The vibe also blows - especially from the vinyl staff - just got an arrogant air. I thought that in the new location, they may have changed up a few things, but it's just as crummy as ever - bummer.

this place will always mean everything to me! since the days on second street and finding a dvd to watch for the night picking through records and cds as well to their new location with a great selection fingerprints music is easily one of the best record stores you can find! they have a unique selection as well as breathtaking unique artwork as you walk in and look around. also they do lots of artists signing and will have music events too. Love you fingerprints!!

I would not recommend this vinyl store if you cannot go in store yourself and purchase. I bought a vinyl from them over a week ago and have received no communication when it will ship. I have emailed them several times and they have ignored all my emails. I tried calling the store but no one picks up and the automated message says the they voicemail account is full. I buy vinyl every week from various places and have never had someone take this long to ship, much less respond. This record is in stock so there is no reason it should take this long to fulfill an order. Don't accept online orders if it's too much of a hassle to put something in a box and slap a label on it.

Been coming to fingerprints once or twice a year for a long time now. Definitely doesn't have the same magic it used to. I come just for the vinyl and it feels like 80 percent of the records they have now are brand new and overpriced. What happened to the tons of used vinyl? I don't come to a record store to buy brand new vinyl that I could buy online cheaper. The staff on the day I came also wasn't great. They say me waiting to check out (I was the only person in line) but they kept having a conversation instead of helping me and then rang me up so slowly while they continued to talk. Unfortunately this will probably be my last time coming here. It's no longer worth the drive and it's way too expensive.

Been here twice before and service is mediocre at best. I was given the worst attitude today just for asking a question to this woman with glasses and a rabbit beanie. I don't think I'll ever drive the distance just to get treated like absolute shit. I rather drive up to Hollywood than give these people my money.

One of my friends recommended Fingerprints when I was looking for activities to do in Long Beach, and I'm very happy I followed her advice! Every time I visit, I am impressed with their huge selection, and they have an amazing amount of high quality used and new/remastered records. Whenever I go there, I usually end up buying a favorite album of mine that I eagerly want to add to my collection or picking up a record that just happened to catch my eye while I was flipping through the stacks. They have very knowledgeable employees, and when I've asked them for help in the past, they patiently directed me to where I could find what genre of music I was seeking. The only remaining question I have about Fingerprints is: what will I pick up next time when I go there?

Weirdly found a record for a band I literally never see anywhere in record stores in LA (never got big enough for stores to stock their new albums, and probably didn't sell enough historically for their to be albums just floating around in resale stores). Just a random promo record for Babybird in a Long Beach record store. Huge selection for rock albums, smaller selection for 45s and hip hop. Lots of interesting items in the discounted bins in the front if you have time to peruse. Parking is easy enough on the streets.

I like this record store. They have a wide variety of vinyl records to choose from. For the most part, everything is well organized and easily able to find based on genre and alphabetical. They also have a clearance section, staff picks, select clothing pieces for sale. Price point is mid level for vinyls, about $30-40. The vibes are great, service is great.

Some things were a bit overpriced, but the selection here is pretty incredible, not sure if I have ever seen this many CDs in one store. Also found a few things I had been looking for for quite a while so overall a great experience!

Nice music store with CDs, DVDs and records. You have to park/pay on the street, but it wasn't hard to find. They have a pretty good collection but I will admit it was hard to understand the order of things. Visible signs could help with navigating through the store especially since they have so much in there. :)

I love Fingerprints. One of the few remaining record-stores in Southern California, they carry a great selection of obscure, hard-to-find cd's & vinyl albums. Plus, they host live music! I recently saw Cerritos-based punk-rock band Channel 3 play there. For obvious reasons, there was no circle-pit, crowd-surfing, or moshing, but it was still super fun!

I love this record store- I could lose hours here. The staff is very friendly and helpful too.

I would always love to stop by and look around here but over time, I've come to notice there were some things that were a bit off about this place. I came here during the 4th of July sale and bought a vinyl that I had previously seen on sale the week before. There was supposed to be a "discount" on both sale and regular priced vinyls, but I ended up being charged the same price that was tagged -- the same exact price that was there during my visit the previous week. It was last minute and I was caught off guard so I didn't say anything except to ask if they still had the 4th of July sale, but the guy who rang me up said that the price already reflected for the sale (which wasn't true because everything I saw before was pretty much the same price as my previous visit). After I left the store, I kind of felt scammed. The 4th of July sale they claimed to be having was just them selling all sale items at the same prices they were marked prior and probably taking some percentage off regular priced items.

Records, CDs, and cassette tapes. They got them all among other things. I like to browse the used CD collection. They have a large selection. Something for everyone. There's plenty of new stuff. If you're into vinyl they got those. Pro-tip though did you know they have gift cards and an online digital music store? If you don't want to give your money to apple or Amazon you can buy their mp3s online. I thought that was pretty cool.

Just finished a meet and greet with Taking Back Sunday. The staff and entire process with checking in, line organization, and smooth start to finish is impressive. The staff created one of the best experiences of my life and even helped take photos while I was meeting the band. This place is perfect!

wandered in this store while walking down the street after getting coffee. was not disappointed when i walked in! the guy was sweet and told us to let him know if we needed anything. the selection of music was great and there were so many records with a different variety. the space is pretty big and we spent about 20 minutes looking around. great store for music lovers

The ditty fiends, tune heads, and song connoisseurs need plenty more vinyl honeypots. This store is a place for any self respecting crate digger to leave his or her mark on. Fingerprints takes the used record hustle seriously. I definitely appreciated digging through their singles bin, bargain bin, and used new arrivals--I realize that last phrase reads like an oxymoron. DO WHAT YOU WANT ABOUT IT. I will now succinctly touch on the selection. I saw a lot of great records during my last dig. The standout might have been a cover of Freak-a-holic by Brian Zilla Ellis. I have yet to see that record at any other store, and the Zilla man has done some quality work with Steve Arrington; in other words, I believe the musician is a smidgen unsung. I might or might not have stumbled upon a stash of great house and hip hip records, but who is keeping track? Rimshot. This place lives up to the buzz, honey. So rouse from your dusty hives. Up from that complacent living inside your hexacomb. Fly forth. Support this record store. This record spot is what the bees have been waxing poetic about. I apologize for not pursuing the bee motif with greater coherence. I did not want to drone on longer.

What's not to love about this place MUSIC RECORDS CDS DVDS ECT ECT the employees are actually nice and helpful and it's obvious they love their job. I found some totally awesome stuff and although my heart is still broken because I missed the YUNGBLUD event I have my kissed signed CD. I can't wait to go back.

Fingerprints continue to make me happy. During this pandemic, I find coming here every month or so therapeutic. Under current covid-19 guidelines, you must wear masks in store. And must check in at the front and sanitize your hands. Disposable gloves are provided too. Keep clean and safe so our local businesses continue to stay open and survive this pandemic. There is always music to buy here. No doubt. My favorite products are the grab bags. Buy one get one free for DVDs and CDs. We grabbed a couple of the DVD this past visit. Have yet to crack it open though! Saving it for our next date night. The vinyl bargain section is my favorite area to dig. 3 for $10 bucks. Or those 99 cent ones are ok. You do have to dig deep and be diligent. It is rewarding when you find that gem. Husband thumbed trough the 45s and found a stack. LOL, it is me who usually decides when we visit Fingerprints; however, it is husband who walks out with twice as many records. I love it. So, if and when you need a pick-me-up, come here for some music. By the way, you are able to buy online and via Instagram as well and pick up in-store. Retail therapy at its finest.

My record player wasn't working so I took it in. While they were looking at it I found a few dope vinyls and got a couple mystery grab bags so that was awesome. Turns out it was a switch in the back I had turned to the wrong setting they were so nice there and he didn't laugh at my stupidity so that was nice haha I will be back for sure! They have a great selection of music on tape, CD and Vinyl. They also have bands that play live and a juice/coffee place connected to it. Definitely a record store you can easily spend hours in and not even realize it.

I've been coming to this store before it was at this location, so if anyone knows that's a long time! Many many years! Fingerprints is a Long Beach staple, certainly a point of interest! People come from surrounding cities to this store & I know why! Fingerprints is the best record store in the LBC! They always have current artists & the best vinyl selection, always greeted at the door, everything is always fairly priced, they know what they're doing here. I have bought & sold vinyl here, purchased new & used CD's, have bought some of my favorite shirts here along with jewelry, coffee mugs, and little trinkets. I used to work at Berlin next door for about 5 years, it always felt like family here. I dropped by yesterday for some holiday gifts & was so happy to see some of the same faces along with many new inviting faces as well. Fingerprints is such an important piece of Long Beach music, art, & culture. I have seen some of my favorite artists perform in store. I absolutely adore this place & the people who make this place so special! Love you Fingerprints! Thanks for making so many music lovers so happy all these years!

Fingerprints is like Long Beach's Amoeba Music. Though there are a handful of excellent, small record stores where you can find some rare gems, your odds of finding the album you're looking for are better here (new). They carry a wide selection of genres in CD, vinyl and even cassettes for your refurbished boombox! Their used books, CDs and records are bargains and the staff here are very knowledgeable and helpful. You also might be able to catch an intimate show here of a favorite artist during album releases! I came here on a Thursday to sell some records, I had confirmed with them that they were able to buy them and they assured me they did. I came in and they told me they had purchased a big amount and to come back another day. No problem. Today, I messaged on Facebook, called to make sure and was told to come in at 2 and they would be glad to buy them. Fast forward to me driving 40 minutes AGAIN, and right when I walk in the same person who told me on the phone they could buy the records, informs me that they chose to buy a larger quantity right after he spoke with me on the phone. Terrible service.
