This is a great brewery with a large variety of delicious beers and an entertaining environment. The tap room is relaxing and fun. Legos are also at each table for enjoyment! I’ve always had good service. Dogs are allowed in the tap room. No food is served, but they have a variety of packaged snacks available. They have a large cooler with cans for purchase to go. Stop by. It is a fun experience!

Google
If you live in Gunbarrel or are passing through, Finkel & Garf is a nice and aesthetically pleasing brewery experience. I love their beer display wall and they make it an inviting experience to kick back and play games or lounge. Very community driven. Not my favorite draft list.

Justin Myser

Google
Nice place to hang out with friends and have some good beers. We hung out on the couch and chatted. Comfortable and friendly atmosphere. They had some games and an outdoor area as well. Very cool beer wall.

Google
This place is alright. I honestly don’t know if I’ll be back. It’s far out of town and there’s nothing really drawing me in. I am not sure if they ever have food trucks but not on the day I was there. Just standard downtown boulder beer prices but way out in the boonies.

Amasa Smith

Google
This is a great little brewery in Gunbarrel. The atmosphere inside is very fun and unique, and there are endless games you can play with friends while enjoying some brewery fresh beer. The bartenders are always friendly and informative about beer options. In addition to a great indoor space they have outdoor lounger chairs to enjoy some crisp beer on a sunny day. This place is also dog friendly and you’re able to pull up a bar seat while your dog hangs at your feet. This place is great and I’ll keep coming back.

Google
Not super impressed with this place or their beers, but if you are choosing between this and Beyond the Mountain, Finkel & Garf should be your choice hands down. The red IPA was pretty good, but the dry hopped amber and the nitro milk stout were not great. The lager was quite unpleasant. The service was good. Do yourself a favor though and go to Avery which is pretty much right down the street.

Google
We like "Tinkle & Barf" for the games, snacks, and homemade soda. The beer is only average, nothing special. It's a fun place and very family/dog friendly. The outside patio has hysterical plush fake grass and great sunset views.

Emily Knuuti

Google
Fun and nerdy brewery with excellent sours and the peach wheat was great. The stout was also delightful. I'd go back for sure. Staff was also nice and very attentive to customers needs.

Cindy C.

Yelp
Eh. We came for a dog event and loved the location. They seemed to have more guest taps than their own. The hazy was definitely good!

Sara E.

Yelp
We have regularly visited this brewery when we are up in Boulder and have always loved it as they have had such awesome beers and are dog-friendly. I wish it opened earlier in the day. However, when we went a couple of weeks ago we were surprised by the lack of their own beers on tap. They usually have some great fruit/wheat beers on tap, which is why we go there, but there weren't any. There were only 5 beers on tap that were theirs. All the rest were from other breweries. I ended up getting the American Lager, which is good, but not really reason enough to get it at the brewery. I would love to give them a better rating, but the tap list was really disappointing.

Hannah S.

Yelp
Finkel & Garf Brewing Company is a great spot to enjoy a beer with a loved one. It's a family owned and operated brewery created for people to have a quality time, grabbing a quality pint with quality people. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon to try our current "house beer" on tap. It's a Limited Release Hazy IPA. The best way I can describe it is by telling you to go watch the music video to... "Smooth Criminal" by Michael Jackson. It has a classic, familiar vibe while still commanding your attention. It's truly one of the best beers I've ever experienced. Like the King of Pop, Finkel & Garf Brewing Company have other hits beyond their Limited Release Hazy IPA. They have an Oatmeal Milk Stout, IPA, Red IPA, American Lager, Dry Hopped Amber, and other rotating Limited Releases. Every beer, we tried was very well-balanced and tasted exactly how you expected it would... crisp and delicious. I highly recommend heading to the Tap Room. You can enjoy your beers with a relaxing conversation on their patio (as we did) OR with a laugh during a fun trivia/comedy night (check out their instagram for more information). Cheers. Prost. Salut!

Alden C.

Yelp
I have had three beers from Finkel & Garf ( so far) and really enjoyed what we had! We had a very smooth, delicious milk stout that we split between the two of us. The depth to that beer was excellent! We also had a great IPA that was a bit more gentle on the "biting" taste side which was actually a really refreshing change as over the past year where I've had lots of IPA's where I was getting tired of the obligatory bite. But despite being a bit more gentle it wasn't weak and well crafted all the same. The final beer was an American Lager which is what I often drink these days during anytime of the year. Again a great flavor profile with a crisp, floral flavor but nothing too overwhelming. Great beer at Finkel & Garf and looking forward to trying more!

David M.

Yelp
Many disappointed people when we planned on getting a beer when the lobster food truck was there. Being closed was not good planning.

Cody P.

Yelp
Love Finkel and Garf. This family run brewery is great place for trivia night, game night with friends, or just a quick, delicious beer.

kassandra t.

Yelp
I love this brewery! The beer is good. They have some main beers that are around year-round. Then they have some rotating taps that are tasty. The guava IPA is always my favourite. The staff is also outstanding. Always friendly, super compassionate and kind. The taproom also has various events throughout the month that are unique to them like comedy and crossword puzzles. They're also pet friendly and who doesn't love that!?

Rick T.

Yelp
Vey cool can art on the wall behind the bar. Friendly staff and good beers. Seating indoor and outdoor during Covid times.

John W.

Yelp
I see what you did there. Maybe not as clever as the wall of cans mural. That's pretty cool. Maybe not as cool as your beer though. I took my milkshake beer to the yard. And was like, it's better than yours. There is a front lawn area. Nice place to sit and hang out of its warm. There's a decent amount of space inside of its not. The milkshake type beers are a good choice most places you can get them. I'd suggest giving that one a try if they have it on tap. I enjoyed mine and my companions also liked what I let them try.

Emma W.

Yelp
Honestly, one of the best breweries I've been to. Why? Ok, the Super Mario wall made out of their beer cans has a lot to do with it, but the service was impeccable and we loved their beer selection. It was a holiday so I called ahead of time to see if they were open and the lady on the phone (who served us in person) was just the sweetest and most welcoming person. She seemed really genuine. We got a flight of their Peace, Sour, Saison, and Oak -- all were delicious! They also ran out of one of the beers so she basically gave us a taster and a half of that one once she refilled it. They have games like corn hole, outdoor seating, and it's dog friendly! Parking just out front too.

Ayo A.

Yelp
You have to try the bourbon beer...11% and amazing. The Oatmeal milk is also really good.

Alison M.

Yelp
Fun stop on our Boulder brewery tour toady. Our very helpful and friendly bartender told us that they just reopened this week and the changes are huge. A soundproof ceiling has created a much more quiet and relaxing atmosphere than there was before. They have also added a fun "art" wall designed with their beer cans. There are a lot of board games to play, comfortable couches and chairs and free WiFi.

Crystal C.

Yelp
Super neat taproom with normally expected beer prices! The atmosphere is very geared to relaxing with friends and engaging in some old-fashion board game fun. There is a fantastic selection of board games located on shelves right around the corner of the bar. They are all pretty cared for, but some are well-loved. We played The Game of Life. It was definitely an older version but it seemed that most of the parts were still there though we were short of people. However, thanks to the readily available glasses of tootsie rolls, we were able to improvise pieces. As for the beer, I had the nitro milk stout which was smooth and delicious! Nothing earth shattering but a well made brew! If you want snacks, they have a wall of them and they cost like a buck each. Not too bad at all! Overall a fun place to hang!

Lauren G.

Yelp
Finkel & Garf's is the best microbrewery I've tried in Boulder! They check all important boxes - great beer, atmosphere and service. My husband and I enjoyed the imperial red, chai stout and cherry sour (their stout earned a medal at The Great American Beer Fest). We were offered samples if we wanted to try something before ordering. Flights of your choice are also available. If you only try one brewery in Boulder, go with these guys!

Ari G.

Yelp
Came in for a few beers last night and had a great time. Great beer and good ambiance. The place is decorated really well and it's super cozy. I got their guava sorbet sour and it was great. I loved how creamy it tasted and felt but! It's lactose free :) very strong guava taste. I also got the falcon punch IPA and it was so unique. Super flavorful, fruity and tart with a super rich hoppy taste to finish. I'll definitely be coming back!

Natalie T.

Yelp
My new favorite beer spot in the Gunbarrel neighborhood! They had a good mix of beers on tap from pale ales to nitro stouts and really appreciated being able to sample about 5 different beers before deciding on one since we were newbies. The pints are well-priced at $5/pint especially compared to other breweries in the Boulder area that charge closer to $8/pint. Also loved the option to get a half pint for $3 and that way I could try 2 beers for a price close to 1 pint. Great unique space with a fresh and funky vibe! My table chose to build some intense Leggo creations and there were plenty of board games to choose from that would appeal to anyone at any age. The server even let some people in with their dogs so this place is definitely dog-friendly (always nice to pet a dog while sipping a beer). Looking forward to trying one of the snacks with my beer the next time I stop by!

Allison O.

Yelp
What a fun little place! This brewery is the perfect environment to sit back, relax, and let your inner kid come out. Each table has legos that you can play with while you chat with friends. They also have a large selection of games to explore. The beers are very reasonably priced (I think mine was $5 or $6) and pitchers are around $15. For food options, they have a wall full of small snacks that you can purchase, similar to what you might find at a concession stand. I had a great experience here. The bartender was kind and offered samples as well as recommendations. Excited to return!

Peanut K.

Yelp
Guys. Come on. This place is great. Solid beer. (Most solid stout I've had in a while!) Excellent service from friendly knowledgable staff Crazy cool can wall decor. The whole vibe was very playful and loved the front sitting area. There was the added bonus that a pizza shop a block away will walk you your pie when you order it! Can't wait to go back and enjoy a few beverages.

David K.

Yelp
Went here on a Friday night. Got there about 345ish. As we walked in there were a couple of people at the bar. We were able to sit at the bar. There are a lot of seats at the bar. There are high tops and a few normal tables. A lot of area. Another plus, they are dog friendly which is always great! Bartender was very friendly and came back to us every couple minutes to check on us, even when they got busy. As we say there, it did get busier but the bartender was still very attentive. It is a kid friendly/adult friendly brewery. At each table they have LEGO's or K'NEX to play with. Then they also have a huge wall of games. The night we went they had a special beer they made, a Stout made with Cocoa Puffs. This thing was awesome! I really enjoyed their IPA. The person I was with had a mixture of their Cream Ale and Cherry Wheat. It was actually really good. I will def be back to this brewery! Cheers!

Paolo S.

Yelp
Great Spot. I did a flight and thought a majority of the beers were tasty, Very homey spot, they have sofas inside. You are allowed to bring your pups inside. There were a couple other friendly dogs on the day I went. I do not believe they have their own food but it sounds like you can get food from anywhere and bring it in. Nice spot to spend an afternoon.

Jack D.

Yelp
What a great little spot! Tasty beers, friendly service, dog friendly. So glad this is in Gunbarrel, we'll definitely be coming back. The peach wheat and oatmeal stout were delicious. :)

Jennifer P.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped here on a mini brewery jaunt around the Boulder area. I loved the fun toy theme here. The decor is very well done. We tried a house flight which included 6 beers for $9 and added on the Peach Wheat. Service was friendly and prompt. I like that they allowed substitutions on the flight if we wanted. We liked the variety available. Our clear favorite was the Rye Saison. It was well balanced with great flavor. I really enjoyed their IPA also. It was not hoppy and not bitter just a solid beer. I didn't really like the plastic Adirondack chairs on the patio. I like the theme here and I am happy they distribute their cans. I know I can find them at the liquor store near my house. They have lots of snacks available and tootsie rolls in a cup on the bar. The theme of fun is very detailed and seen throughout.

Hannah K.

Yelp
I very much enjoyed this brewery! Lots of game options- your usual board games and some video games. They also have several fun, unique table games hanging along the walls you can use! Favorite beer (also what they are known for): Oatmeal Stout. Not quite your usual brewery food- mostly just snacks to go along with the playful vibe of the tasting room. Great service, will be back!

Nancy F.

Yelp
This is the funnest brewery I have ever been to by far! I mean you are like a kid in a candy shop, and I am not just referring to the beer! They carry a bunch of candy and snacks on the vast wall behind the bar and almost all of them are $1. They have tons of games and legos too. We don't have any kids, but we had a blast playing all the different games. They have bright fun colors with the chairs and decor. Our server Lauren was so friendly and welcoming. I loved the IPA and we most definitely will be back. The beer is nicely priced at around $5 a pint. Great place to hold a party and also bring the kids. It is dog friendly inside as long as they are leashed. High Five and Five Stars all the way around.

Susan L.

Yelp
Coolest bar ever!!!! Finkel & Garf is hidden away in Gunbarrel, just about 10 minutes out of Boulder. It's a small bar/brewery with the warmest atmosphere. If you're looking for somewhere casual and cozy, this is your place. Finkel & Garf has legos/some sort of building toy at each tall bar table, as well as an entire wall of games to choose from. They also have TVs available and the bartenders are more than happy to switch the channel if you ask (super important for when the Olympics were on). Their beer menu is simple, with about 5-6 different brews to pick - but you really can't go wrong. From their nitro oatmeal stout to their cream ale, this place has super flavorful and tasty beer. Beers run about $5 a pint, and your first round of beer is free for the month of February for stout month! What's not to love? Also as someone else mentioned earlier, there are always friendly puppers here hanging around. Stop by Finkel & Garf for a doggone good time!

Kelvin C.

Yelp
Finkel & Garf is a pretty cool neighborhood brewery. They have some decent brews here and surprisingly, my favorite was their Cherry Wheat. I think this is what all the cool kids are drinking nowadays in Boulder :-P . Service was friendly and they have a Street Fighter arcade machine here...what??? Anyway, 4 stars for a solid brewery.

Jack K.

Yelp
Solid beers, great place to hang out. I got a couple of 'free pint' cards from these guys at the Beer Festivus last year, and didn't manage to make it up to North Boulder until this past weekend after a lovely day of skiing at Eldora. As far as the spot is concerned, it's definitely a ways out of Boulder, so don't be fooled (like I was) that it's right downtown. They didn't do anything deceptive, I just saw a Boulder address and assumed it would be somewhere closer to downtown, it's not a far drive up the diagonal highway though. Anyway, I had three of their beers. The Rye Saison, the Imperial Red, and the IPA. The Imperial Red is like 9.8% ABV and it doesn't feel like it, if you know what I mean, so be careful if driving. The IPA was pretty good, light and not too hoppy. The Rye Saison was probably my favorite though, well balanced and great flavor. They only have a tap room, but they have a few menus of businesses that will deliver to them. They've got sushi, pizza and Nepali. We had just come from skiing and needed some grub, so we tried the sushi out. Guy got there pretty quick, but in the mean time they literally had a whole wall of snacks to choose from and they are only $1 each. I like that gesture, they aren't trying to get rich on selling bags of chips, and nuts plus they had a ton of variety. They also had a bunch of games to play. They had a DJ in there playing some kind of house music, which I'm not a fan of, but it wasn't obnoxious, and the owner came over and asked what we thought of the music. Overall, I would definitely go back, good beer, fun times.

Caoilfhionn S.

Yelp
Excellent service and staff. Great beer especially their small batches. Expensive at $8 a pint.

D C.

Yelp
If you're a Pearl Street fan, it might not be routine to come to this part of town, but trust me when I tell you it's worth it. I walked in to an open floor plan that is clearly well thought-out and extremely inviting. The bar and surrounding tables, made from reclaimed wood, along with the playful decorations make you feel at home as you are greeted by Dan and his crew of knowledgable staff. They are as attentive as they are friendly, and the beer is as plentiful as it is flavorful and tasty. As I left with growler in hand after spending an hour or so aging with the Lego at the bar, I can't help to hope that I am able to return soon. This place is soon to become a hot spot, so head over and enjoy the place before it's a tourist attraction...

Paul L.

Yelp
The beer is pretty good. The owner interrupts conversation almost every time I go there, so much so that I avoid this place when possible. The bartenders are very friendly though... it's a shame.

Amasa S.

Yelp
It's hard not to say good things about this unique brewery in Gunbarrel. As soon as you walk in you are instantly captivated by their fun and relaxed atmosphere. I love the way they decorated and lit their space, and there are endless games (i.e. board games, card games, Jenga, video games, and much more) you can play with friends while enjoying some brewery fresh beer. The bartenders are always friendly and informative about beer options, and happy to give you taste tests to help you make up your mind. This place doesn't brew overly elaborate beers, other than their rotating limited series, but they do classic beer varieties very well. They also really pride themselves on their gold medal from the 2017 Great American Beerfest which was awarded to their Oatmeal Stout, and they celebrated with their patrons by giving out free pints. Recently, they have extended their customer appreciation, and all February long provided a free pint of their predetermined beer of the week. I thought this promotion couldn't get better, but they just released the news that it will continue for the entire month of March too! I'll certainly be frequenting their brewery much more. In addition to their great indoor space, they also have outdoor lounge chairs to enjoy some crisp beer on a sunny day. Finkel and Garf is dog friendly, both inside and out, which my four legged friend and I couldn't be happier about. They have plenty of small snacks for purchase but no kitchen or food trucks. I personally like that because it allows me to bring my own food to eat while sipping on their great beers. F&G also has occasional trivia and comedy nights which are another great reason to swing on through. This place is truly great, and I highly recommend everyone to come by and check it out for themselves.

Mikaila S.

Yelp
I love Finkel & Garf! This past February and March they were doing free pint of the days, which was such a great treat. They have a wide variety of beer, and all that I've tried have been nice. There is lots of space inside as well as a nice little lawn outside. A unique plus to this brewery is all of the games they have! This is a go-to spot for me.

Justin M.

Yelp
One word- Excellent. Partially biased because my old Navy friend Mychal brews here, but this place is fun and has excellent beers. Come up and spend the day in Boulder and check this place out! It's also good for kids because they put a lot of effort into making it kid friendly as well. Tons of snacks for $1 buck and free games for all to play.

Cody A.

Yelp
Great beer, fun atmosphere, dog friendly, and wonderful staff. The owner is a great guy. Highly recommend this place! Gotta check it out!

Justin M.

Yelp
I like this place. They have good wheat beers, and very stealthy high APV Imperial Stout, and a great neighborhood vibe. I love the beer samplers; basically six quarter pint glasses served on a wooden board so you can try a variety of beers. The pizza place delievers $5 pizzas between 5-7PM and there are snacks on site. Please tip the delivery man though, they look like walking wounded coming in there and getting a mere buck for their efforts! It isn't just a taproom where you can try their beers, they also have beer for sale. I've never been treated with anything other than kindness and respect. They do card EVERYONE however. It does not matter how old you look, the owner leaves no room for error in interpretation due to the SEVERE penalties in Boulder. So bring your ID if you want to be served.

Nicholas P.

Yelp
I just wanted to put a plug in here 'cause I LOVE these guys. They are making great beer that doesn't take itself too seriously. If you haven't run by their taproom yet they have all kinds of great games, plenty of inexpensive snacks (a wall-full!), and their bartenders are super-approachable with any questions you have. They are also in cans, so if you find something you really like you CAN take it away! ;) I made a tool to help you find their beers near you: http://finkelandgarfbeerfinder.weebly.com/ Enjoy and PlayOften!

Jules C.

Yelp
If I told you that there's a bar in the middle of an industrial zone that had some of the coolest board games, a wall of snacks and merch you won't see almost anywhere, where there's great craft beer, and somehow is both dog and child friendly, this is it. Children aside, the best and most unique thing you've got to try is the beer sampler with the snack pairings. You can buy a slinky there, you can play knock hockey, you can enjoy delicious beer, and buy what felt like 100 different snacks there. The people there are really doing a great job and I'm confident one day they're going to have a location that's not in the middle of no-where. Keep up the excellent work, it's the kind of craft beer place I'd open if I lived out there. Absolutely one of the best bars in my recent tour of Chicago and Boulder. Congrats and continued success!

Kelley Z.

Yelp
Fun place great beer and excellent root beer! Always a great place to play games outside of the house too!

Scott P.

Yelp
What a cool place. Great beers, fun atmosphere and games. I really like that they sale a great assortment of snacks to buy, makes we want to hang around longer. Same prices have most breweries. Great bar tender, I didn't ask, but she refunded my money for a couple tasters I jokingly said I didn't like.

Kevin R.

Yelp
Really great brewery. I love their beer, for one thing, and their tap room is chill and fun. Lots of games and snacks to enjoy alongside the beer. We will be back.

Alisa M.

Yelp
My favorite beer they have on tap is their nitro cream ale. It seems like a lovely place to bring your family and have a beer, as they have games and snacks avail as well.

Michael G.

Yelp
Love this place, Sarah & Lauren are great. Dan and Myke are always so kind when they pop out from the office or back brewery. The sheer amount of kids can be a bit annoying when parents don't control them. The mix of dogs and kids outside can be a bit much, esp when like 5 are crying and all the parents there have managed to block that sorta thing out. Kid-less people like myself haven't learned how to do that.... so it's a bit headache inducing. I like to come later in the day, due to this. Not hating on kids, but even if a brewery is "fun and colorful" it isn't a place to let your kids roam like a Chuck-e-Cheese. I really don't wanna come off like a total douche, the parents are great...and i love kids.... but it's just honestly why myself and my neighbors don't come here mid-day on the weekend. Really incredible staff, and service however. Was on the fence when you moved in to Gunbarrel and now you are by far one of my faves, and couldn't imagine GB without you all. Thanks~!

Christopher B.

Yelp
We ended up here b/c several of the brewers at Avery told us to pop by! We were there about two weeks after it opened so it was very new but things seemed to be going pretty smoothly. The beers were pretty decent and I get the impression that is just going to improve from talking to the son/father owners. And with Avery's new location these guys will be literally down the street so they should get some nice exposure!

Doug L.

Yelp
I stopped in to F&G close to the end of a long day on the mountain bike. The team there was super friendly and worked with me to get ApplePay up and working on their payment system, so I could use my phone to pay for a couple IPAs to put a nice finishing touch on my day riding Joder Ranch and Heil Ranch trails. I didn't carry a wallet or credit card with me on the ride. Now, most importantly, I'm into IPAs, and I really liked their IPA. Super friendly staff, really enjoyed spending time there with them, nice conversation. I rode an extra 14 miles round trip to close out the riding day with a beer, and F&G made it a nice moment. BTW, I was turned away by another microBrew close by, wouldn't take ApplePay, or work with me...

Rusty M.

Yelp
I've worked near this place for years so have been multiple times. I really enjoy most of their beers, that is, when I actually get one. Today was a prime example. A couple of us went after work for beers. Friday at 5pm. There was one guy working. We were behind at least 10 people waiting to order a beer while he helped 3 different people (but same group) order flights of 5, one by one. After ~10 minutes, it was over. It is astonishing to me that a brewery in Boulder would have 1 person *trying* to serve the bar at 5:00pm on a Friday. Because of this, this place really deserves a 1 star, but I like the dry-hopped amber too much. Unfortunately I never got one today as I left, as did most of the others waiting.

Ashley B.

Yelp
My family and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. The beer is fantastic, the service is always friendly and the environment is fun. It's a great place to grab a beer, let the kids play and even enjoy some tacos. They also sell tons of snack food (i.e. Annie's popcorn, fruit snacks, animal cookies..) which is perfect for kids and adults!

Stacie J.

Yelp
I absolutely love this brewery! One of my new favorites! My husband and i were so excited when we found out it was a dog friendly brewery as well.Really warm, enviting atmosphere and plenty of snacks! Now don't get me wrong, I love beer, but typically there are a few beers (at a brewery) that I end up giving the rest to my husband. Not one of these beers I wanted to give away! Loved them all. Good job guys!

Christy K.

Yelp
Purchased a 6pk that was not properly canned. Seems like they struggle to get it right. Owner told me to come in (me drive 40 miles) and he would replace it. Confirmed with him the time I would be in, he confirmed with me all would be well, I get there and they're closed. How do you not know your own hours?! Mind blowing you treat customers like this!

Yelp
Great first visit this Sunday. Took the hounds for a lite hike and then stumbled upon this place. Very relaxed space with games, candy and a wall of snacks. Great service and great beers. Super dog friendly to boot. Highly recommended
