Fink’s Gillespie Review - Highbury - London - The Infatuation

"While Fink’s first spot is on the other side of Blackstock Road and is a big, homely, corner situation, Fink’s Gillespie, just down the street from Arsenal tube is an all-green slip of a spot. It serves the great the same quality coffee though, alongside a simplified menu of pastries, toast, granola, grain bowls" - Oliver Feldman

The first time I went here I didn’t have a pleasant experience. I went a second time because I wanted to give it another chance. Unfortunately same issues again. Barista spent ages chatting to each other instead of taking orders, the line was outside the shop. Didn’t ask me if I would like to stay in or takeaway, was given a paper cup even though I wanted to stay in. The coffee is decent but the service is crap. If you’re charging £4 for a small cup of coffee I would at least expect a greeting or asked if I’d like my coffee in a mug or to takeaway. It’s all very pretentious and I won’t be visiting again. I also have noticed they tend to treat their white customers with more smiles and greetings than their person of colour customers. This is a point that has come up in other reviews as well. I won’t be a patron anymore.

Great coffee and pastries! Their loaves of bread and chocolate croissants are my particular favorites. The baristas are also super friendly and easy to have a quick conversation with. All around a lovely spot!!

Fantastic coffee, great selection of pastries. Lovely atmosphere. Staff can be a bit rude though and I’m always left feeling like I did something wrong, especially with one barista in particular. Don’t have this problem at the other two Finks locations as far as I have seen. I am not saying that staff have to be bubbly and chatty, especially if it’s early. But not being actively rude is the bare minimum. I quite often walk to Salt&Sweet as the staff are much nicer there.

Cute little cafe, close to the Emirates Stadium and walking distance from the old Highbury stadium on Gillespie Road. We were looking for a quick breakfast fix and zeroed in on this place. Seating is a bit cramped, and there are few tables. Most folks prefer taking away their order. The cheese croissant was good, crispy and fluffy. Nice, freshly brewed coffee and decent baked breakfast items.

Just dropped by for the first time after hearing great things and I was not disappointed! The two girls working were so warm and welcoming and the coffee was killer!! I walked in hopeful and left with a beaming smile, going to be tricky not going in every day...

Great neighbourhood coffee shop. Perfect for a quick takeaway coffee or bite Appreciate the little grocery section they have as well. Small selection of cool products Space is a bit small for sit/dine-in but they do have seating

Go here quite often as the coffee tastes decent. However, they seem to have new staff lately who are somewhat sarcastic and attention seeking types. Feels awkward, like I am interupting their gossip and generally not very welcome. Shame as some of the longer serving folks were very customer focussed.

This place has really really good coffee! Their pastries were very good as well ❤️ their cinnamon rolls are unforgettable 🥹 However when I've been there, the baristas were a little bit rude ☹️ Although they have a couple of tables inside, this is a place for a to go coffee. Inside is pretty dark.
