Finley Dunnes? This place is about as Irish as Shaquille O'Neal.
The one thing that stood out most about this place is that they may have Chicago's most extensive collection of piss-grade beer. Bud, Bud light, Bud light lime, Bud light amber ale, Miller, Miller genuine draft, Miller highlife, Miller Lite, Miller 64... Impressive in quantity of low quality... but if you look past that you'd notice they also have a good number of good beers as well- Duvel, Rogue & Blue Moon on tap...
As I heard, this is a pretty good place to watch hockey. Even on the Red Wings/Black Hawks' off-night, the Penguins/Hurricanes game was playing on the enormous central TV (maybe 36" x 24"?), though the volume was off. I sat between a rascal whose sense of humor didn't improve with alcohol saturation, and (fortunately) a good conversationalist with ties to northeast hockey. Such is the nature of the barstool lottery.
There were just a handful of people watching, and the rascal made the mistake of insulting the Detroit Red Wings. "You don't know a thing about hockey," the bartender reminded him. He made another moronic comment; "you can't name one person on the roster," the bartender successfully challenged him. Just then I noticed the bartender was wearing a Red Wings hat.
Wait, Red Wings? In Chicago? Well, the North Side does have a huge Michiganese population. This for sure is a safe haven for them, and for anyone who likes hockey. No haters allowed.
