A Guide to Denver’s Irish Pubs

"Finley’s Pub is the go-to Irish bar for Wash Park residents, thanks to its variety of local beer, neighborhood feel, all-day happy hour on Mondays, and above-average fare. The Finley burger, a fan favorite, is made with braised short rib and smoked bacon. Regulars also rave about the Cajun tots, shepherd's pie, and buffalo burger." - Camila Navarrette

First, try the burger! Then come back for more. Truffle fries were awesome! The beer selection is unique and super delicious! Whiskey, of course, tequila, scotch, food and beer?!?! What a perfect place to stop and enjoy! Nick was super nice and remembered our names wile tending to our drink and food needs. The bathroom is a wonderful spot to take a moment and appreciate the artwork. I will definitely return with my family!

Google
Might be the best wings in Denver, the chicken is thick and the Buffalo sauce is perfect. Also, if you’re a Tank 7 beer fan, they have this on draft. The tots are also a must have as your side. Had the fish and chips too, but personally I’d get a ton of these wings and some beer. Staff was cool and the place had a Cheers vibe because for some reason every person that came in knew everyone there lol.

Google
The pub is wonderful but the bartender/waiter did not have a lick of a personality. The Coors was skunked and he looked at us like we were the problem with no apologies. He never really was cordial or even spoke to us until the last words, as he dropped off the check, were laced with sweetness. Guiness, as well as other beers, was on tap. Staple if you shall be called an Irish pub. The food was delicious. I had a special, The Finley Sheleighly and my husband had the chicken tacos. My special was absolutely delicious and the tacos were mediocre. Quaint pub and worth the visit, regardless of Mr. Personality.

Google
I enjoyed a nice Shepherd's Pie here for dinner. Place is clean, service is excellent, food is also excellent. I tried the salmon fish and chips and also the wings. Can recommend them, they were great!

Google
My girlfriend had the bison burger, and I had the Finley burger. Both with fries. I also had a properly pulled Guinness. Everything was really good. Burgers are big enough to share. The bartender did a great job. I will definitely be back.

Google
Sweet first experience; came for happy hour on a Wednesday. Attentive service. I'm 32 years old, and the crowd was my age and older. Seems like a locals place due to being surrounded by a neighborhood. Ordered the nachos (pictured) and wings.

Google
Finley's has great service and their food is amazing. Cannot say enough about how much I love the place. Jessica and the rest of the crew are always smiling and happy. Just a great neighborhood bar, and a must visit in Denver.

Google
A no frills Irish pub with one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life, this is from a guy who eats burgers in every single city, and I travel a lot. The Finley burger is downright delicious. The bearnaise sauce is just so dang good and ties the whole thing together. I'm usually a condiment freak, but on this burger, I did not add a single extra thing. I can't compliment the burger enough. If ever you find yourself in Denver or contemplating trying this joint, the burger itself is more than worth it. Solid happy hour as well.

Yelp
Denver needs more local pubs like Finley's. It's a cozy dining room with a rotating draft list. Menu keeps things interesting and the people have always been friendly.

Yelp
Dive bar restaurant. Decent size. Lots of people at the bar top on a Thurs evening. Mostly an older crowd- prob because it's located in a neighborhood. The Finley burger was actually really tasty. I very much enjoyed it. I thought the fries were OK at first but then ended up liking them when dipped in their homemade ketchup. There were lots of skinny fries too. Good portion. My friend go the shephard's pie and thought it was OK. They ran out of bison burger when he initially ordered it. I would come back for the burger again!

Yelp
Dinner at Finley's the Finley burger and dessert so good it is the special banana bread pudding

Yelp
Great local spot. The drinks are great and very reasonably priced for Denver. I have ordered the hot honey chicken sammy for food and was impressed. Never thought that burrata would be so good on chicken!! They have Blanton's and Buffalo Trace which are harder to come by. Would recommend.

Yelp
Hole in the wall? I guess but definitely with a class and some history behind it. Is it a dive bar? I guess it could be but at the time of visit during mid Saturday, it was very quite and the bartender was also working as server. Being a pub, lots of pub menus and cold draft beer and so much more. Price was right, drink was cold and fries were hot. What more can you ask for?
google avatar

Noah P.

Yelp
Gonna sound like a snob here but that's my right as a amateur food critic. The texture of the hot honey chicken sandwich was completely thrown off by a overly large and super soft brioche bun that soaked up a bunch of liquid from the also large and puffy burrata cheese that sat atop the fried chicken. The fried chicken did not hold up well to all the liquid my fried chicken sandwich felt like I was chomping into a jumbo marshmellow, it was about that sweet too. It was a creative idea but not the most well executed...

Cara K.

Yelp
We enjoyed a wonderful lunch! The Fish and Chips with Salmon is a must get it was amazing! The Blackened Salmon Caesar Salad was also delicious! Excellent selection of great beer on tap. Service was excellent as well. Highly recommend!

Elisabeth M.

Yelp
I am obsessed with Finley's. I second the other reviews saying get the burger first, it's really really good. They have gluten-free buns! The vibes are impeccable, only two (muted) TVs thank god, and the noise level is very manageable. It's a great place to go for good food, a good beer, and a chat with friends.
google avatar

Georgia M.

Yelp
I love a good pub although pub food can be hit or miss. Finley's blew me away however with creative appetizers such as Ruben nachos and the best burger I've had in Denver. Great casual environment. Neighborhood feel. Impressive service despite there being one bartender serving tables, slinging beers and running the whole show. Favorite pub in Denver so far. Ps. The chicken sandwich with burrata and hot honey was the star of the show.

Yelp
It was merely ok. The menu was extremely limited so I struggled to find something I liked. The featured beer was nasty tasting according to some others in my group. I would definitely not seek out this restaurant, but if I were in the area again, might go back. The employees were warm and helpful!

Yelp
Hands down best wings and mac and cheese. This place is a regular for us. It's our go-date chill date spot

Yelp
We went here our first night in denver and it was so good we ended up coming back again before leaving!! the service was fast and friendly and the food was absolutely AMAZING! My husband had the famous finley burger and loved it, he said it tasted very fresh and flavorful. My dad had the fish and chips and said they were also very good. my mom and I split the hot honey chicken and it ended up being the best thing out of what we ordered- by far the best chicken sandwich any of us have ever tried! It had a little kick but wasn't too spicy and the honey combined with the creamy goat cheese was perfect. it was perfectly crispy and couldn't recommend it more. This restaurant is definitely a must!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice pub in the area. Came here for a quick lunch while driving through the area. The wings, and fries were good.

Yelp
Took my ex-bf here for his birthday. Parking was a little hard to find but parked in the neighborhood and walked over. It is a small pub but is nice and cozy inside. We started off with drinks. I ordered the fish and chips and he ordered the shepherds pie. We also ordered a side of Mac and cheese. All of our food was hot, fresh, flavorful and tasted absolutely phenomenal. We enjoyed everything here. It was his birthday so we ended getting their special peanut butter pie that night. Oh boy, did it make his birthday. I had a couple bites and it was very delicious. We had a great experience and very much enjoyed the food here. I most definitely will be coming back here. Please check this place out if you haven't done so!

Alex M.

Yelp
Relentlessly terrible service. Burger was ordered medium well, delivered fully rare (or worse). I sent it back and they returned it as a hockey puck. It was not comped. The bartender/server was fully rude from the start. So in summation $75 for two beers each and two sandwiches, trashy rude service, and a nearly inedible burger. On a damn Tuesday.

Yelp
There are an uncountable number of places that claim to have Denver's best burger. Many are disappointments. Finleys Pub burger with house ground chuck combined with short rib, applewood bacon, cheddar and Bearnaise! is a top contender in my book. I was concerned when I arrived to find a total of two people covering the kitchen, bar and service for six full tables. Wow, they handled it with ease. Good craft beer selection, creative cocktails, and a foodie forward casual menus makes this place a hit. (the french fries have fresh herbs added.) Added plus on good music. Yeah, I'll be back for sure.

Kim W.

Yelp
Our favorite neighborhood burger place. Everyone is always so cheerful there, and the service is excellent and quick. We all love the burgers and the love the mac and cheese!
google avatar

Yelp
Finley's Pub is a Cozy Irish pub. It's conveniently near Denver and offers drinks at a good price and decent food. We had the burger and the fish and chips and thought the food was decent. Major shout out to the waiter. He appeared to be running the entire restaurant and bar with no bartender support.

Brett G.

Yelp
Absolute quality. The service here is excellent. The food is phenomenal - I'm going to be bold and state Finley's has the best wings in Denver. The menu is small but in the kind of way that you can taste the quality and effort in every dish. They limit the menu and execute it flawlessly. They make the sauces from scratch - hell, even the ketchup on the tables is homemade. Finley's keeps things fresh with specials and seasonal rotational menus but I keep going back for the classic pub food. Their burger is freaking delicious, the fish & chips is cooked perfectly every time, everything at this place is wonderful. Save room for Grandma Finley's Pie!

Yelp
What to eat on a cold night? Go to Finleys. Get the lamb stew. They will be very welcoming and make sure you are happy. What more can you want.

Gabriel B.

Yelp
Great pub with a banger of a burger. The menu on their website is not up to date so knocks a star off. Was looking forward to trying the Drunken Apple Crisp but was not available. Bartenders and servers are extremely nice.
google avatar

Steve L.

Yelp
Fantastic food and even better service! All sandwiches are incredible, especially the burgers. We will definitely be back! We recommend at least 1 fried dish too.

Lynn V.

Yelp
Total neighborhood spot w/ locals chatting at the bar gives it a nice feel. Fish & chips very good, but like everything now: little pricier these days. We snagged a booth. Place is clean, has character w/friendly service.
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
I was directed here by my son, who lives nearby. This is a local pub with a friendly feel and some great things going on. If you want a traditional Irish stout, they'll cover you. If you hanker for something else, they have that too. The Outer Range Hazy IPA is such an example. Add to that a fish and chips dish made with cod or salmon...that's right, salmon, and you're sure to have a happy tummy. The salmon version is their original and they only recently added the cod. If you're in the area, check out Finley's !
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
They served Guinness with the most perfect head I've ever seen! The food came out quickly, we got Bruschetta which was plated impressively for a bar. Tastes fresh, the texture of the mozzarella was a little rubbery, but it was good overall.
google avatar

Bob A.

Yelp
Fish & chips were meh. Two small pieces of fish, over battered, Sysco fries and little itty bitty side of cabbage. Gimme a break. Another one and done. Bar looks like a decent neighborhood hangout.
google avatar

Mayra S.

Yelp
The Finley's Burger is out of this world! Finley's also has the best chicken wings in Denver. Seriously. Perfectly crispy outside and juicy!! The flavors are all delicious but Sweet Habanero and Garlic Parmesan are my personal favorite. Their ranch dressing is delish- I visit almost weekly/bi-weekly and love this place for its tasty food, great service, and consistency.
google avatar

Aaron D.

Yelp
I really liked this place! Met friends after dinner for drinks and tater tots. YOU HAVE TO GET THE TATER TOTS! It has a cool Irish vibe. This is a must go to if your looking for some good food and drinks.

Johnny P.

Yelp
This place sucks. I was at the bar on wine night and the owner suggested a certain wine. I did not care for it and he said I needed to pay for it. Miserable customer service and tight ass owner. First and last time I will ever visit. I no would rather go to Applebee's.
google avatar

Paul M.

Yelp
I have no idea what the previous reviewer is talking about with regards to the Finley Burger. It's easily one of the best burgers in Denver, and is ridiculously consistent. This is evidenced by the numerous reviews, and the fact that when you're there, pretty much everyone is ordering the burger! Finley's is exactly what a neighborhood pub should be. Prices are reasonable, the food is excellent quality, and it's a welcoming atmosphere. Pete obviously strives for consistency of standards, and it shows.
google avatar

Lucy D.

Yelp
Great food and a wonderful atmosphere! Finley's pub has been a winner each time we have gone. We normally go on Sunday's during happy hour and there is rarely a crowd. The bar is very clean and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Everything we've had on the menu has been great. This is a great place for accommodating vegetarians as well! The veggie burger and kale salad was perfect. The Finley burger and mac and cheese are a must try! They also have some good munchies - the Irish nachos with crispy chips and tender meat are amazing! The assortment of wings are also a good go-to! Everything at Finley's has been wonderful from the staff, to the beers, to the food. Definitely try it. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
It was a cold winter's night, and we wanted to try some place new, some place close by too, as it was a cold winter's night. My husband and I parked the car, and walked to Finley's Pub. I am glad we did. The interior of the bar is dark, with hard floors, typical bar signs on the walls, neon lights, etc. There was a small Christmas tree in the corner, on top of the bar. There was one other patron in the bar, so it wasn't crowded or noisy. The bartender took our drink order, and left some menus. Nice place, typical neighborhood bar, with street parking that was free. No parking lot or anything like that, as it's in a very small strip type shoppette. My husband and I looked over the menu, and decided that we'd try the mac and cheese eggrolls. When the bartender brought our drinks, we asked a few questions, specifically if the eggrolls had any garlic. The bartender said she wasn't sure, so she would ask. Great, no problem. Actually, there would be a real problem if there was, and I had eaten some. I have a severe food allergy for garlic. The next person that came over to our table was not the bartender, as we had expected, it was the actual chef from the kitchen. She asked very specific questions regarding my food allergy, and proceeded to ask if that also extended to onions (which are in the same family, and yes, I don't tolerate onions either, I know, a real pain, right!). This chef really knows her stuff. She proceeded to tell us what she could do for me/us, what foods she could prepare that wouldn't have either, and how she would handle making the several different dishes. Both my husband and I were totally shocked, as well as impressed! The chef went well out of her way to meet my culinary diet restrictions. WOW! I have never, or I should say, very rarely, had any restaurant pay this much attention to a patron's dietary restrictions. WOW!!! We ended up ordering the Irish Nachos, which the chef made with french fries, instead of chips, because the chips have garlic powder on them. The Irish Nachos were very good! I highly recommend them. Needless to say, Service is EXCELLENT at Finley's Pub. The prices are the same that you would find at any local bar. Parking is free, on the street. The interior is your typical bar, dark, with the usual signs, neon lights, etc. It's your neighborhood bar. I'm not sure how crowded or busy they get, as I previously stated, there was only one other patron in the bar, and it was the 5:00 pm hour. Oh well. I'm glad we went, as they really took care of me. Thanks Finley's!

Yelp
I'd love to love Finley's. Pete is wonderful, the staff and service is great, and they have a fun rotating selection of beers. However, the cook should be fired immediately, and someone other than Pete should do the hiring: I've come here for drinks regularly over the past five, six, seven (?) years and have always been happy except when I've ordered burgers. The Finley Burger is perfect in concept but a disaster in delivery: no one at this restaurant knows rare or medium rare. I ask for medium rare I get well done. I ask for rare I get well done. I ask the waitress to have the cook put the patty on the flattop, count to 10, flip it, count to 5 and plate. I get well done. Unfortunately, I don't have enough foresight to eat before I go to Finley's or to order burgers as soon as I arrive--I like to have a few drinks and think about things, so by the time I order my blood sugar is dropping fast and I have to eat what they bring. That just means I can't send things back and hope the Chef eventually gets it right. If I could I'm pretty sure it would still take a few tries. If you're looking for nice beers and good drinks, this place is great. If you want a decent "funny" sandwich, this place is great with the Irish Cubaño. If you want a burger cooked properly, go elsewhere.

Yelp
The boyfriend and I visited here last weekend. Due to the reviews we had expected a wait but we're happily surprised to be seated the moment we got there!! There is one thing that's true about the reviews, though.... The nachos are amazing!! The nacho chips themselves are like homemade kettle chips and the toppings are diverse and a good quantity for how many chips they serve. While I loved the idea of the in house ketchup, it tasted more like BBQ sauce and I was happy to have regular kethcup, too :) Our server was super ill-informed as we aksed about the tart and she had no idea what was going on and had not tasted the ketchup, a number of drinks and dishes. I think it's fair for diners to be upset about an ill-informed server because if you can't ask that person about the menu, how do you know? What about allergies? Or dietary preferences? I don't know. I was super peeved at her seeming lack of care and knowledge.
google avatar

Bianca R.

Yelp
Mind blown!!! My husband and I shared a bison burger and an order of wings. The bison burger was cooked to perfection and was juicy with a ton of flavor, it came with bacon, fried onions, and goat cheese. The flavor combination was out of this world! We ordered our wings naked with three dipping sauces. The wings were perfectly crispy and still incredibly juicy. Our favorite sauce was the blueberry serrano BBQ, but we also loved the habañero sauce, but be warned, it's spicy. Honestly the entire menu sounded very impressive. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Let's just add this place to the ever-growing list of mine called "Places I would have never known about if it weren't for an online deal". I like to drink however due to my having to wake up early most mornings and frugalness, choose to do so at home so I don't frequent my nights going to pubs. But I saw a $20 for $10 deal and thought, why not? I love me some bar food and reading the reviews, this place seemed legit. Then I saw they had a brunch menu and game was on! They open at 10am on Sundays, we were there before 10am because we love brunch that much and sat on the patio. We were the only table there and only one server working so the dining gods were on our side. It was super quiet outside on Pearl and everything was peaceful. They have a limited brunch menu but I saw old faithful on there, Eggs Benedict, so it didn't take too long to decide what to get. They do an Irish pub spin on the classic dish with corned beef, spicy hollandaise sauce (get it on the side and save money on angioplasty later on in life!) and sweet potato hash. Sigh. Ok, so my boyfriend and I go splitsies on brunch so we can have the best of both worlds like sweet and savory dishes. His french toast looked amazing but after taking a bite of the Benedict, I didn't want to share. I begrudgingly gave him his portion wishing I could just steal it back and have it for myself but sharing is caring and he drove me there so I obliged. I don't know i it was one specific thing or all the ingredients coming together but it was mouthwatering and very unique. With coffee, we walked out of there for under $20, not a bad way to start the day! Psssssss.......$3 Bloody Mary's on Sundays if you're so inclined!

Yelp
This is my second day on Vacation in Denver. My friends and I were supposed to eat at a different establishment, but time got away from us and it closed. Well to our enjoyment, our friends took us to this cozy spot, with great music. We had the lamb burger, Korean chicken tenders, beer battered salmon and chips and the bison burger which were all cooked to perfection, and tasted great. If you're I'm Denver and looking for a place to hang with friends, grab a drink, or grab a bite. This is the place. Oh and let me not forget the great service provided by Audra, who also tended the bar. She was a fucking superstar!
google avatar

Yelp
I LOVE this lil out of the way pub. Staff is amazing, food is great and the drinks are always consistent. I will be back over and over again!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious burgers and beer. Incredibly sweet service, with a smile. My hubby had the Finley burger and I had the bison burger with bacon jam. Yum! We had the special - polenta fries with a spicy dip. Fantastic. Also enjoyed the peach cobbler special for dessert. Very tasty. It's a bar, but don't be intimidated or put off by the appearance. The food is terrific. I

Yelp
Finley's Pub is an amazing addition to the area. We couldn't believe how cheap this place was. If you do not know what to order, choose Finley Burger, it is just delicious. The people that work here are really friendly. I totally recommend Finley's Pub.
google avatar

Daniel B.

Yelp
Ordered the burger on the recommendation of the waitstaff. Note: surprisingly it is almost the most expensive item on the menu ($12). I was asked how I wanted it cooked, I asked for medium rare. I got a well done burger. When I showed it to the waitress I got a shrug and an 'oh well'. Also, the shoestring fries were significantly over seasoned. Then we were charged extra for an extra thimble of sauce for the fries ... Overall I was very disappointed with the service/food.
google avatar

Kurt Russell B.

Yelp
Doesn't look like much when you walk past, but I was practically dying of hunger so I popped in. The definition of a hole-in-the-wall. I got the regular hamburger and wow...there are no words. A classic burger done right. Crisp bun, juicy patty, stuffed with all the essentials (ketchup, shredded lettuce, tomato, and pickles). There's about a million options available between the menu board and wall full of specials, so it can get a little overwhelming, but you really can't go wrong. Not much else to say besides go see for yourself! You won't be disappointed.
google avatar

AJ F.

Yelp
What I thought was going to be your average gastropub, turned out to be something a little more excellent. Their beer selection had more variety than your average pub, but I was more so pleased with the menu! Beyond the standard burgers and fries, Finleys provided a little more to get excited about. I settled for pierogies and pork, and my wife the restaurant named burger. I couldn't have been happier and my wife's burger was excellent! The bearnaise sauce really steps it up. Oh, and everyone is correct here. You should be getting the cajun tater tots. You'll never want any other side again!
google avatar

Kimberly R.

Yelp
4 stars = I REALLY like it Look this place isn't fancy but that what you'll love about it. Bartender and waitress were both nice, attentive and super friendly. I heard all the hype about the Finley burger and wasn't disappointed! My favorite by far are the cajun tots, do not skip these. My boyfriend had the chicken sandwich and it almost made me jealous that I ordered the burger for a second time in a row. I can't wait to go back and try everything else on the menu! Thank you for being a great neighborhood bar!

Abby M.

Yelp
Really awesome pub food and a great neighborhood spot for a beer. Their burgers are delicious (and they do medium rare really perfectly), and the mac n cheese hits the spot for creamy, melty, saucy comfort food. Love the tots and brussels too.
google avatar

Brandi W.

Yelp
As you read this review please keep in mind this based on receiving our food from delivery from grub hub! We order food online, and after having some issues with a restaurant in the past not receiving the order, I called Finley's pub and verified they received it. The lady that answered the phone was very nice and attentive. She read the order back to me and off we went down the food delivery journey. We received our food in a timely manner and it was correct. With that said, both mine my girlfriends food was very bland. Neither dishes had any real flavor to them at all. This was disappointing. I will make it a point to go in to the pub one day to see if the food is better. As I stands now, neither of us were impressed with the food we received by delivery. :-(
google avatar

Candice M.

Yelp
This is legitimately the best traditional burger I've had in Denver. Much better than those fancy burger chains that rely on toppings for their "wow" factor. Finley's burger is so perfectly seasoned and cooked every time, that toppings are hardly necessary.
google avatar

Kelly E.

Yelp
Empty plate!!! Amazing food! We ordered the Lamb Burger with the Herb shoestring fries. Second time having that and still amazing. The herb fries are fabulous. We also ordered the Beef Bourbon Pot Pie... best pot pie I've had in years! Needless to say, EMPTY PLATES.
google avatar

Alicia Z.

Yelp
After watching a video of a guy eat a chicken wing in .8 seconds with a fancy trick, my friends and I decided to get bar food. 2 things 1: GET THE TOTS so worth it. 2: the chicken buffalo sandwiches freaking HOT! So be ready. I do know that my heat tolerance is crap, but damn! The wings were also worth it! Definitely recommend!

Arianna H.

Yelp
Poor service and rude. Quite literally overheard the kitchen staff and bartenders speaking poorly about guests while in the women's restroom. Incredibly unprofessional.
