Had some dinner here. It was a cute spot. Very homey and warm, the food was good. The server was so kind and patient. She was checking in on us and making us feel very comfortable! Would highly recommend 10/10 dining experience! I recommend trying the maryland crab cakes so yummy

We had a wonderful experience! We celebrated my parents anniversary with 30 people and everyone enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Conor was a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Finns if you are looking for a local restaurant for a family or friends gathering.

We had our wedding party after here in August and it was such a seamless and perfect experience. I just let them know the time and about how many people were arriving. When we got there we had a section with tables set aside for us and the bartenders were very attentive. It was low effort and everyone had a great time.

We had St Patrick's Day dinner reservations and enjoyed dinner. The live music was 30 min late, so we missed it. Sad. We had Guinness, potato leek soup, fish and chips, and corned beef and cabbage. Very nice.

Just okay for brunch... The atmosphere is good and so the service. Guinness glass is not a pint !!! Steal !! "Power bowl" is just tomatoes, cucumber, tofu, avocado and lettuce - not attractive - missing the "power" Fish sandwich was okay - bun was dry and falling apart, as if it's was from couple days back. French onion soup was good ! Tenders onions and good flavors Not coming back

Best restaurant in town. I have lived in this town for nearly 70 years I've been to them all, you will not be disappointed it is all you would want and all that you would need for that special restaurant.

This is going to be our new hang out! Great menu, great servers, comfortable seating and lots of screens for sports! They have some great daily specials including 2/$50 on Wednesdays and $5 beers! Can accommodate small to large groups, spacious seating also. Will be back soon!

Seated immediately and service was fast. We usually sit at the bar but tonight got a table. Saturday night and the place was quite loud. They had a mushroom barley soup special which I got and it was tasty but came out lukewarm. Split a fish and chips order and the fish wasn't seasoned at all. The batter was crispy but it was very dry fish. Probably the least moist fish and chips I've ever had. Staff very nice but will probably stick to happy hour, going forward.

So overpriced for nothing.. food was uncooked and unseasoned, service was slow but nice.

Nice establishment, nice staff. The food is good. They have a prefixed menu that was only $25 a person. The options are chicken with mushrooms, salmon, or filet mignon served with mixed vegetables and mash potatoes. The desert was chocolate cake. I didn't give 5 stars because the parking lot is small.

This is a favorite place of our with such a wonderful atmosphere. The service is excellent. We had a vegan option, teriyaki cauliflower with lemon rice that is a perfect mix of sweet and tart. The side of grilled asparagus was a perfect compliment.

We used to be frequent patrons for dinner at this establishment when they accepted Restaurant.com certificates. The staff was a group of anxious-to-please Irish women. Food was excellent and staff was pleasant and accommodating. No longer participating in a discount program, prices became way too high for a pub and service is simply not the same and we have not been back.

Had my mom's 80th birthday brunch for 30 people this past Saturday. The place and room was lovely, the food and drinks were great, the staff was awesome and very accommodating. Perfect environment and venue. Seamus the mgr was great to work with. Please give them a call for your next group event

Hey, New to the Area, and we were told to check out MacCools? So we did...and it was wonderful!!! I love the vibe, service was spot on, and their food was so so good... Everything from their calamari, and Pizza, to the ribeye and pasta specials... The music was great and the crowd was upscale beachy and we had a blast at their oversized bar!! Can't wait to come back and have a good time once again... heard the onion soup is to die for, so I look forward to that.. Thanks

Good food, service is OK because there is only one waitress . She was very busy. Clean place, that's the reason why I liked this restaurant.

We had a fantastic experience last night at Finn's. The ambiance in the bar area was great, noise level was good for talking, the waitstaff was super attentive and the food and drinks were great and the fireplace was the perfect touch. We ordered almost everything on the bar menu and we enjoyed it all, particularly the margarita pizza and the chicken wings, but really it was all good. I can't wait to go back and watch a game on one of the TV's and enjoy the welcoming place that Finn's is. We are lucky to have this pub on Main Street! Pro Tip: you can call a few days ahead and reserve a high top at the bar!

Solid neighborhood Irish pub/restaurant Re-connected with this longtime Port staple recently and to be fair only been in for lunch (Wed-Sun) but will be getting reacquainted with the bar in due course. Service: 5 stars (very attentive and super friendly) Food: French Onion Soup 5 stars (SOOOO GOOD) Prime Rib Dip Sandwich 4 stars Ambiance: 5 stars (remodel from last time I was there looked good and really modernized and brightened the venue up)

Having attended a performance at the Landmark (Rimsky Theatre) on Saturday our party of 9 adults and 2 kids thought we'd enjoy an after show dinner at Finn MacCools across the street. OK 8 happy meals and mine not so happy since it seemed I ordered the rack of lamb( $44.). Everyone got their orders except me. When my family was finished (including their expresso) I was still waiting for my entree` I was given 2 excuses, the first one my plate was given to another table and the second that my entree` was dropped so here I sit, here I wait getting hungrier and madder during my wait. OK Now is the time for someone to tell me my meal was and dessert was being comped but NOPE, my $44 lamb and $12 German layer cake were on our bill which we paid. Sorry to make this so long critique but patrons should know about this experience.

Beautiful place with great parking. Outstanding host and manager. The menu is varied, and the food was great. My NY strip was cooked to perfection, and my husband loved his fish. The cheesecake is superb. I would not allow wait staff to chew gum while working, and I did not give it five stars. Will be back when visiting the area.

I'm surprised to see this spot only has 3 stars. I came here for lunch with my cousin mom and dad today. The ambience was great- there is a huge bar that has really comfy chairs and many different options for seating. We sat at a table and each ordered a glass of wine - good pours! I ordered the shrimp lump crab cakes - the shrimp and crab were awesome in the cake! My mom ordered the lobster salad - also really good. My Cousin ordered ceaser salad with seared tuna - she said It was great. My dad ordered the pizza with shrimp - I didn't think I would like that combo but It wasn't bad! It was a thin crust pizza! We ordered sweet potato fries for the table and they had to be the best i ever had! Nice and crispy! For desert we split the chocolate bash Irish cake (I think was called that). All in all I really enjoyed it and would go back!

Last weekend I stopped to FMC for Saturday lunch.The interior of this place is top notch both the bar and dining area. Out Server was very helpful and he told us has been working for the owners for many years. I had the Turkey Wrap and my friend had the Irish Steak Sandwich. The food was very good and they have a diverse menu.They have a full bar and they have a lot of live music, many Irish.I hear the nights are many times filled. This was my stopped here but I would definitely come back to this staple business on Main Street in Port Washington. G

We've booked dinner here the last three times we saw a concert across the street at the Landmark (theater) On Main Street. The shows we've seen were scheduled at 8:00, so we make the dinner reservation at 6:00 PM. Parking is an issue. They have a very attractive bar and one night we were entertained by nice live music. The service was attentive from the beginning, when we were greeted by their hostess, who located our reservation and had us seated immediately. Several times during our meal, the waiter inquired if we needed anything, etc., and a busboy refilled our waters often. They have both bar-style and yuppie cuisine. For example, my entree was an individual pizza, technically bar food, but they kicked it up a notch with medium-sized shrimp. Other than the shrimp, the pizza itself was okay, but not their strong suit. You couldn't hold it (with one hand) without folding it. Otherwise, the cheese would've just dripped off the soft doughy crust. My appetizer was a wedge salad. I was overly cautious in asking for the bacon bits on the side because they were delicious. However, I wished there were more cherry tomatoes (only 4 tiny ones, one for each corner of my plate) and the blue cheese sauce seemed heavy. My wife ordered much smarter than me this time and was thrilled with her Chilean Sea Bass dinner, which came with rice, broccoli and carrots. She also enjoyed her decaf cappuccino. I know I was happier with the food both of the previous times we were there. So next time, I'll stick with their upscale entrees.

Consistently excellent. I've been eating at Finn's since 1985* and never had a bad meal or experience. * we first went with my daughter then aged 11 Days.

Great service and impeccable food! Had some great sports games on as well! Also, they had great 70's music playing.

Four of us went here today for lunch. It's the first time my husband and I have been there. There is a huge bar when you walk in. They've got a couple of dining areas. The ambiance there is inviting. I had the lobster salad. The lobster was chopped and served on 3 crostini breads, served with melted butter and horseradish sauce. The butter was good, of course, but the horseradish was delicious. There was a mixed green salad as well with a nice vinaigrette. The tuna salad was delicious. They are generous with the amount you get. It was cooked perfectly. The tuna crab cake salad was also good. Two nice size cakes, served with arugula. The shrimp and garlic pizza was delicious. It's got a very thin crust, cooked perfectly. I think the biggest hit was the sweet potato fries. They serve a generous amount. They came out steaming hot. They were crispy and crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. One of the best fries I've ever had. All 4 of us were impressed. We ended up sharing a brownie cheesecake. Instead of a crust on the bottom, it's made with chocolate. It doesn't get much better than that! I hope to someday come back here and definitely recommend to all.

6 of us were there for dinner. Had to ask for bread several times not only the first time but the second time. Ask the waiter to charge on meal separately, he did not do that, had to ask him several more times. My friend received a spoiled food and my fish was like rubber and rice and vegetables were over cooked. We will not return.

First time here...restaurant is very clean and has an invting/warm atmosphere. We sat away from the bar as we had our two under age children with us, but it seemed like a really nice bar area and would definitely revisit with m husband alone or with friends for a drink! Food was REALLY good ... we started with the crab cakes and fried calamari, and had the pot roast and shepherds pie for dinner. Everything was great, but the pot roast was DELICIOUS. So tender, lots of gravy to dip the mash potatoes and keep it all moist, and the red cabbage was a wonderful compliment. Only complaint ... appetizers and kids' meals came out but waiter forgot the drinks. Could not find him to ask for my glass of wine but the hostess instead asked us if everything was ok with the apps and kids meals, and let her know. She in turn told the waiter. Then had to remind him about bringing an apple juice for one of the kids as well. Had to ask twice for water refills, because he forgot the first time we asked. We were never offered (nor did we remember) the ice cream for the kids meals. Maybe he was distracted, but certainly didn't pay much attention to the table even though it was early and not busy at all (just two tables occupied in the dining area). Will return.

2.5 stars - I waited a few days to simmer down before writing this. I had mixed feelings trying this place given the other Yelp reviews. This was based solely on this one experience. Walking in, the atmosphere was nice, spacious tables, clean décor and it didn't look like a typical Irish bar at all. I read reviews noting it was renovated recently; so it is no longer a pub. My family and I were seated within minutes by the hostess - no wait and on a Holiday! Our waitress was courteous but as the night went on, even her good service was not enough to save this review. We only ordered main courses as we were not too hungry. I had questions about the menu and the waitress was prompt to get the answers from the kitchen as she didn't know. That said, entrees were ordered at 7:20PM and we were set. When we got our drinks, she asked if we wanted a complimentary bread basket, which I replied yes. From here, we did not know it was all going to go downhill. Here's what happened: complimentary bread basket was brought to us, however, there were only 2 rolls in it and 2.5 breadsticks. There were four people at this table ...why only 2 rolls? This was not a big deal but still worth a mention. Patiently waiting, I noticed two things - the same waitress serviced many of the tables near me and other tables received slow service as well (the kitchen was to blame). Not good. I did waive over to our waitress and asked for more dinner rolls. By this time it was nearly 8PM. We ordered at 7:20PM (just entrees - where is the food?!) I did NOT complain. We sat patiently waiting and just continued our conversation. At one point, I asked if refills were free, the waitress politely said that no, they are not free. Then a moment of silence passed as I looked at her, she then offered to refill all of our drinks for free given the long wait we endured at this point. She did right by us here. To be fair, the manager came over to check-in on us several times that evening. I think she was seeing if our patience was wearing thin & to see if we noticed the delay. Her first check-in with us was more of a social visit. Made some small talk and complimented us on our shirts - it was the 4th of July so we all had on flag detailed shirts or red/white/blue color scheme. As more time passed, she came over again, this time to apologize for the long wait and said our food would be out shortly. She complimented us on being patient and how well behaved my children were. I did notice it was taking quite a long time - peered at my watch, it was about 8:15PM. Hunger pangs set in and my kids were starting to fidget, "where's the food?" I tell you, I held my tongue - even though it was well past an hour since we ordered. Even the section where we were seated, started emptying. All but two tables of diners were left. We were about the last ones by the time the food appeared. By this time, the manager appeared for the third time - apologizing once again, about 8:32PM. Thanked us for being patient yet again; said the entrees were coming in minutes. Here's why I am miffed at this situation - she did nothing. Nothing but empty apologies - didn't offer us drink refills, didn't offer more bread, nothing! She could've done something/anything ... she was the manager! This annoyed me so much so I finally asked, "Exactly what is the delay in our food?" She then commented about the kitchen ticket machine not working right and our orders never made it to the kitchen. OMG...seriously?!! Knowing this and the amount of time that had passed, they could've brought us something (soup/salad/comp an appetizer/offer drinks?! Grr. 8:40PM, food finally arrives! But sadly more disappointing. Hubby ordered the Filet of Sole stuffed with crabmeat (which lacked flavor, needed more seasoning). My son had the Kids' Bangers and Mash...a classic Irish dish. Sausages were great, mashed potatoes were only ok - could've used a little more butter. My daughter ordered the Penne a la vodka, totally over cooked. The penne was too soft. And the worst part, the sauce tasted bland, very watered down. It was just bad! I ordered the butter poached lobster over rice and spinach, that should've been good as per the description but fell flat. Not as buttery/flavorful as I hoped and while nicely plated and a good portion size, it was only ok. So ... even starving - the food didn't taste any better. I cannot recommend this place at all. And after this experience, I will NOT return.

The food and service was always only just "okay," and that might have earned 3 stars. But two recent experiences changed that. (1) We went there the other night planning to eat supper, but the stench of disinfectant - mainly chlorine-based - was so strong that we just turned around and left; and (2) my husband tried to book a party for his extended (Irish) family of about 30 people, but they could not be less interested. Never even bothered to return phone calls and messages left in-person with their staff. I will say the bar looks lively. Probably a good place for a drink, some bar food, and maybe meet someone.

Enjoyed our group dinner at Finn MacCool's Irish Pub in Port Washington on a Saturday evening. Friendly service, and we were never rushed. Pluses: * Variety of Irish brewskies on tap * Family friendly * Live music on our nite there, Saturday * Burgers are popular (see pic) * Good selection of Irish Whiskies * Private parking lot and free street parking daily after 5 pm. * Though our group was large, no mandatory tip was added to bill. Nice bar and good bar food. My fish and chips were tasty not awesome maybe needed some salt. The calamari was also needing salt. The pomegranate jalapeño margarita was good my dinning companion drank an old fashioned that he thought was excellent. The server was attentive and fast. We had a nice meal here the happy hour looked very crowded and fun. Next time we are coming for that.

We recently had my mother's 80th birthday there. Seamus helped us book and organize the party. Everyone had a great time. The food was great. I would definitely go there again and recommend booking a party there.

This place is awesome. Fantastic food. Great drinks, great place to watch a game it has a huge bar. Get there early tho it tends to pack out on nights there are big sporting events. We will definitely be coming back

First time here since the renovations. Great late night dinner option - were looking for food/drink after 9/9:30 and didn't have many options locally. Pizza was delicious and bigger than expected (good thing we were sharing!) The buffalo chicken sliders also delicious.

Great place to come hang out and have drinks, but not great for meals. Still love it here though! But really only to drink and meet up with friends

The food and atmosphere is very nice. I had a lamb stew and there was more lamb than vegetables, and such a large portion I brought home enough for dinner the next evening.

This place went down 6 or 7 years ago, but came steaming back plus a complete new do over. A nice looking Irish Pub, with great offerings and done well. The service is very friendly and accurate, and prices are a good value. Just go, you'll like it

I love this place! It's clean and bright. There's 2 sections - bar and pub area and the other side is more of a family dinning area. Hostess and waiters are friendly. The reason why I love it is that I can get a delicious burger with a side of healthy stir fry vegetables!!! And they can also easily accommodate my baby's stroller!

This place has a good amount of negative reviews that I never even bothered to read because I've been to the spot multiple times in the past. Last night me and my friend got dinner and then decided to grab a drink before we ended our night. I suggested this spot because a friend who lives in Port Washington had told me about it in the past and whenever I went previously I had no problem. The last few times I went was with a male friend who got our drinks and at that we never had an issue. However, last night my friend and I got a booth and then waited a bit to go to the bar and order a round. We waited around 10 mins until we were approached by the highly unappealing, old female bartender. With a nasty look on her face she said "gonna need ids ladies." Now I fully understand a place that serves underage locals and had issues in the past needs to be cautious of people who aren't from P.W. and could be underage. My friend and I are 25 though.. we grabbed our ids handed it over and I waited a good 20 seconds while she starred at my id, I said "I was born in 1998 I'm 25." She continued to stare at it and goes "I know." I waited again and at this point it was uncomfortable, I said "I'm 4 years over the age limit what's the problem?" at that she throws my id down and says "I don't know what your problem is." She picks up my friends id looks at that and then walks away without another word to us. My friend and I were very confused by the interaction. Anyway, we waited and no bartender would come over because she told her two coworkers not to help us either. We went back to our booth continued to chat and then a group of guys who were from P.W. offered to grab us a drink, they also weren't served drinks because of us. At this point my friend and I were going to swear off this place as an embarrassment of an establishment and go somewhere else when I assume the manager (he never addressed us with his position) comes over and says he needs our ids. We gladly handed them over seeing as they're our valid NY licenses that prove there was no reason for us not to be served! He comes back 5 minutes later and tells us they won't scan and that he's going to take them. Now I'm livid at the whole interaction, I call his bluff and tell him to show me they won't scan, he claims it's behind the bar and he's not taking me behind the bar... I say I will stand in front of the bar and watch it not scan! He ignores that and tells my friend and I that we will have to pick up our licenses tomorrow at the police station. At this point I threaten to call the police because he clearly thought we would be naïve enough to allow him to walk all over us and take our valid identifications, just because his foul bartender didn't like us. Once I said I would call the police he instantly handed the ids back. All I can say about this place is I'm so embarrassed for them, they hate their jobs and it shows as they try to feel big in some way by treating other people badly. I pity them.

I went here yesterday to watch the NBA playoffs. The bar wasn't playing them, but the bartender immediately changed the channel on one of their TVs and sat me and my friend down directly in front of it. It was very cool. We sat there watching the game for a while without being pressured to leave. I felt very comfortable and the drinks and fries were pretty good as well.

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon with my girlfriend. Food and drinks were delicious. The only downside for me........it was hotter outside then Satan's taint and i wore a sleeveless t-shirt. Was told my attire was unsuitable and had to wear a t-shirt (unused/clean) that they had. I won't be back. My girlfriend had commented later if they would have made her wear a t-shirt had she worn similar attire. We will never know.

I have seen Finn MacCool's driving around town, and one night after a show, a few friends of mine and I decided to grab a bite to eat. It was on the later side, and we were seated right away. The waitstaff was very attentive and helpful. The food came out quickly and was delicious! I know it's easier to write a bad review than a good one, so I wanted to make sure to give this place a proper shout out! Would definitely come back.

Chris the bartender gave 11/10 service. The french onion soup was also awesome! The ambience was nice on Memorial Day Monday.

This is a place we go whenever we can, especially on prime rib night! We go to the harbor by boat and walk to the restaurant; very convenient.

denied adults service for visiting from out of state. discrimination, terrible attitudes would not accept second forms on their IDs and were not willing to have a conversation about it. If you're concerned about out of state IDs being fake, get a scanner

Nice atmosphere and staff were friendly. Food was a bit slow to arrive. Shared the hummus appetizer - good portion size. I ordered a pizza, one of the few vegetarian options on the menu besides salad. My friend really liked her salmon, my pizza was good and well portioned but a bit salty. Pizza was well priced but seafood and meat seems a bit overpriced.

Love going here!! Bar has a nice sized happy hour crowd. Always bustling bar scene until late night!!! Friendly and attentive staff/bartenders! Food is always full of flavor and always comes in a timely manner. Love their specials nights (wine night, Italian night, taco tuesday, etc.). A lot of locals frequent this place and I can see why.

Very Disappointing Brunch . No more home fries - instead we received flattened tator tots flattened and put in the deep fryer . The lox on the English muffin was not edible . Needless to say both of us have food poisoning .
