The Seattle Karaoke Guide - Seattle - The Infatuation

"If you are a college student or just want to listen to young people sing Spice Girls jams while you throw back some jello shots, Finn MacCool’s is the UW Irish pub for you. Their karaoke happens on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and they'll occasionally host a contest that’s not scored by how well you sing, but how loud other people applaud after you hit the last note with a decibel reader and everything. Just be aware that if some random person shows up with an entire sorority and sings “Let It Go” from Frozen, they're probably going to win, no matter how well you hit that high note in "Alone" by Heart. You know the one." - aimee rizzo

The Best Restaurants & Bars In The University District

"Welcome to The Ave, where Finn MacCool’s is practically a mandatory nighttime stop. It’s an Irish pub with a lot going on and a mostly collegiate clientele, which means you’re in for some strong well drinks, beer pong, karaoke, and trivia. A visit here if you attend UW (or are pretending you do) is a Seattle rite of passage." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

Since it's a dive bar near the school, the prices were not high, and there were various happy hour and special menu options. I didn’t order any food, so I can’t provide an evaluation, but as long as they serve Guinness in the proper glass and pour it correctly, it’s the perfect Irish pub for me. What more could I ask for?

Fish and chips were decent but just basic bar food, cool location tho!

If you’re seeking an authentic dive bar experience near the college campus, look no further than Finn MacCools. Here’s why you should belly up at Finn MacCools: For Guinness lovers, Finn MacCools is a haven. The taps flow with the dark elixir, and the pints are poured with care. Whether you’re nursing a pint solo or clinking glasses with friends, the Guinness here is as authentic as it gets. There is always something happening here for events so check out their website to see what is happening. Watch all the UW games here. Don’t expect gourmet dishes; Finn MacCools keeps it simple. Sandwiches, fried food, and pints of beer are the order of the day. It’s comfort food that pairs perfectly with your pint. We got the quesadilla to share, and it was plenty. They have daily specials and happy hour so it’s a great spot for cheap bar food. The service was good too and the employee was extremely nice. We went on a Saturday afternoon, so it wasn’t very busy. On game days and events, it’s usually packed!

Finn's has an all-day happy hour on Sun and Mon. Good discounts on beer, liquor and some food items. I felt bad for the bartender, though. They were the only person working in a large place. They were stretched, but they helped us out as best they could... Plus management didn't reorder food ingredients and supplies. They were out of chicken, burgers, even napkins. The bartender and cook had to improvise. The manager of this place must suck to leave them hanging with no assistance.

Looking for a place with great food and drinks, where the prices on drinks are unbeatable and the DJ plays fantastic beats? Look no further than this spot! With its lively college atmosphere, it's the perfect spot to hang out with friends. The only downside is that the bathrooms could use a little more attention in terms of cleanliness. But don't let that deter you from enjoying all the other great things this place has to offer!

Great spot with decent selection. Food was on the better side of bar food. Service was quick.

NOT FOR FOREIGNERS WHO KEEP PASSPORTS SAFE AT HOME!!! Tonight: didn’t accept my international ID. “No Irish” flashbacks lol. Was great on Wednesday - sensible non-xenophobic humans who let this visiting healthcare professional get a couple of drinks to decompress after a painful shift with some tough patients. Owner reply feels fairly discriminatory. Hoping the Wednesday bartenders don’t get in trouble for having brains, common sense and reasonable judgement. TERRIBLE POLICY and response from the owner but I guess some pesky underage drinker or law enforcement made them this way.

Lively Irish pub with a great selection of beer on tap. Friendly staff great place to start an evening.

Yelp
Pretty decent fish and chips with cheap domestic beer options, as well as a decent draft list, make this place a worthwhile visit. You can tell a lot of drinking happens here on nights as the place kind of smells like alcohol. Service was standard but friendly enough. The rest of the food looks reasonably priced as well.

Yelp
Game day for the Apple Cup and Earl's was too-blocked with fans of both teams, so we went looking for an alternative for a pre-game funk. We were headed for the College Inn, however, as we passed Maccool's we checked it out for capacity and found it had plenty. We were served the worst Bloody Marys that I've ever tried to drink. The breakfast sandwiches were better and the service was pretty good. This is an Irish Bar...by name only. No Smithwick's beer and no Guinness glasses. Weak Sauce I would say. We should have gone to the College Inn.

Yelp
I was on vacation in Seattle and we found this place listed as an Irish pub. The only thing Irish about it is they serve Guinness. This place was absolute trash. The tables were sticky, the booths were sticky, and my friend had someone else's lipstick stain on the pint glass they gave her beer in. The bathrooms weren't any better. I would never go back, and would never recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
I came here often for karaoke night on Wednesday during my time in UW. The bathroom is always crowded and gross lol, which is fine. The bouncer is cool. The things that I dislike is that the bartender adds more tips to herself..... I'm too lazy to call the bank but yay that shouldn't happen.

Yelp
Note that Finn's is temporarily CLOSED due to COVID. This review is for before COVID regulations were enforced. My college experience wouldn't have been the same without Finn's. My friends and I would come here almost every Wednesdays for cheap Wells drinks (Wells Wednesday). The prices would alternate between $1 & $2 depending on the hour, so we would come here at 11pm for peak hour and $1 drinks. Their Wells selection includes rum, tequila, vodka, (and I think gin?) with a choice of orange juice, soda, cranberry juice, pineapple juice, or ginger beer (+$2) for mix-in. Our main go-tos were vodka cranberries and tequila sunrises. The bartenders are all pretty heavy handed, so make sure to mix the drinks well! Out of all of the bars on The Ave, Finn's is the darkest, loudest, and probably the most crowded. Make sure to arrive early to grab a table. If you want to have a conversation with your friend sitting next to you, you're either going to have to shout or just pretend and smile and nod haha. Finn's is also the only bar with a dance floor so there's usually a lot of action going on. Service is okay. It can be difficult to get the bartender's attention because people just crowd around the bar so you have to be patient. In summary, Finn's is a place for quality over quantity, so don't expect anything too fancy for $1; come here just to get tipsy with friends and mingle with the college crowd. Hopefully Finn's will open up again once corona subsides. Overall: 3/5 for drinks, 3/5 for service, 3/5 for atmosphere

Yelp
Waited in line for over 10 minutes to get to the front and there was no visible barrier or anyone with a badge to show they were the bouncer so we walked forward to enter the bar to wait to get our ids checked. We looked around to try to find the bouncer WITH OUR IDS ALREADY OUT and both my friend and I were grabbed from behind aggressively and told to get the fuck out and we were both shoved outside and told to not come back. We both had our ids out and ready and we're treated so disrespectfully just because of the bars lack of organization. Do not recommend. Edit: just saw many other reviews complaining about the same bouncer about 5'6" white guy. Horrible service. Should be fired

Yelp
U District Street Fair. Busy but not overwhelming. Staff welcomed people in and slow to check on them because distracted by other things like phones. Food came out. Fish and chips tasted good . Two pieces of fish and small fries. Might have been frozen before. Took forever to get napkins from anyone.

Yelp
Their food is nowhere near as good as it used to be plus they cut out most their menu, the part that made it any way like an Irish pub, now it is just a collage bar on the Ave that over serves like every other bar on the Ave. I wish they would bring back their good food

Bruce S.

Yelp
Great if you're a minor. It's either empty or full of blacked out college sophomores with fake ids. Bouncers are terrible and drinks taste worse.

Yelp
Went here got harassed by several patrons who attempted to rip off my belongings and was allowed by staff destini and alleyah

Yelp

Yelp
Not sure where the less-than-5-star reviews are coming from?! Perfect bar for the college experience... visiting from out of town? Come here. They are super lax about your *real* ID. Never have had their food, but their drinks are exquisite. Check out the nightly deals. My personal fav is Wednesday night karaoke mixed with their $3 wells deal. Best nights belong to Finns or Pizza Mart.

Kyra K.

Yelp
My best friend and I waited in line for about 30 minutes and there was absolutely no visible barrier between when you got in line and the bouncer/entrance to the bar, so my friend and I continued in line. Only to get shoved out by the unmarked "bouncer" being extremely handsy with us, pushing us out the door, leaving little handprints on our arms. We are both over the age of 21 and had our ID's out to show. The bouncer simply would not listen. I will not be returning, and I do NOT recommend due to their lack of organization and respect to their customers.

Tory G.

Yelp
We stopped in after a UW football game for a drink. It is definitely the fun place to be on the Ave. It was packed, loud but we were able to easily get drinks.

Bethany K.

Yelp
the bartenders here are so disrespectful, do not go here unless u want a problem. so unprofessional i would rate 0/10 starts if i could.

Yelp
Cool Irish pub in the heart of the "Ave" in the University district. The smell of spilled beer set me back when I walked in. I don't believe this place has ever seen hot water and bleach. It would have been enough to make me turn around except for the fact that it was the U district. I wanted a beer and some food. Choices for that combo are fairly slim on the Ave. I will have to hunt around for a better smelling place next time. Good service and the Ruben was fantastic.

Yelp
My thursday night love!! This is a hidden gem but well known to most of the UW students. Us Huskies hang out here every thursday night- take jager bombs, sing Michael Jackson..or Britney Spears if you are drunk enough. And let the night run wild. Many memories here-love the bartenders. Just fun fun fun!! Oh and it really helps that they have drink specials on Thursdays-$3-$5. Oh yea, I always buy shots for everyone that I go with. 10 shots of jager you say ? No biggie. $30 bucks!! I'm a big spender, what can I cay ;)

Yelp
This place is in business solely because of their ability to profit off of college kids who don't care if they're treated horribly while getting a pitcher of beer. Have received extremely rude service on multiple occasions. This last occasion Included the server calling my friends bag "trash" shouting at us to throw away water bottles that "could be filled with vodka" despite not bringing out waters... and literally throwing our cards in our face when it was time to leave. I can't make this stuff up. We are grad students who come here every Thursday for school events, but now, we will be telling all our friends to avoid this place like the plague. If you want to be treated like trash, Finn's is your place!
google avatar

Devin S.

Yelp
If you're coming here, you're probably coming here for Wells Wednesday. It's the extremely chaotic, ever-popular, entirely packed night of the week where Finn MacCool's offers all of their well cocktails for $1 and $2's, during different portions of the night. The lines for this place can sometimes stretch down the block, especially if it's the first or last week of a quarter. Getting in can take what feels like an eternity, and once you get in it's hard to actually make your way to either the bar or the dance floor because the bar is over flowing with college students. The price of admission is free, and the drinks are dirt cheap, so it's worth it in some senses. But Finn MacCool's is more akin to a club on Wednesday nights than a pub (which is in the name), and you should be prepared for that. Tip: Spare a few extra bucks for your bartender, college students. Especially on Wednesday nights, they are overworked and easily deserve more.

Yelp
I come here on and off and always have a good time. The bartenders work hard and are always nice. The guy working last night was very attentive even while busy. Wanted to post because I got food here that was sooo good. Sunday night is 1/2 off pizza and drinks. The barbeque pizza was gooey cheesy goodness. It also packed incredible flavor. Hats off to the chef.

Yelp
Finn's is a very standard college bar. If you're not college aged or comfortable to in a bar filled with college kids, don't go to finn's. My friends and I love finn's like most UW students, but also have had some difficulty with the female bartender that works there. Sometimes she's okay, but most of the time she is really rude. My friends and I always wait in line to order, get simple drinks (vodka soda/cran, etc), say please and thank you, and always tip at least 20%. Basically, we try to be easy customers, because we work in the service industry and know how it is. I completely understand that bartending especially in a busy bar like finn's is stressful, and I'd have given her the benefit of the doubt if this had only occurred once or twice, however, she is rude to not only us but other customers almost every single time we go there. I've heard from several people that she is also rude to them. The last time we went, she mocked my friend when my friend was trying to order and then literally threw the clipboards with our cards & receipts on the bar infront of us. We love finn's but she has really began to ruin the experience for us.

Yelp
Their food is SOLID here. And SERIOUSLY, how can you beat a CORNED BEEF Quesadilla!??! The employees are friendly, too. But if you're a dick, don't expect to walk all over them. Sooooo yeah, don't be a dick.
google avatar

Yelp
This is for your Sunday night happy hour. And only for drinks. I had forgotten all about food by the time I got to Finn MacCools. $12.50 for three jaegerbombs and two cocktails. That's unheard of in SF! Made us wonder how much more we'd drink if we went to U Dub instead. Giant space filled with college kids. CUTE bartender. 'nough said. Well, almost. The girls' restroom smelled of yack when I walked in. Not a good way to end the night, but I guess some people can't get over the price of the drinks and go overboard.
google avatar

Yelp
We were headed to a show at the Neptune Theater & decided to stop in to have a drink. It's definitely a bit of a dive bar but the service from Sofia was great! We only had drinks, no food, but they were all good. She was the only one attending the place and kept up with it all. We would stop in again when in town.

Yelp
Our first meal in Seattle, walking from our hotel... we were told about this pub and glad we found it. Caprese salad is done nicely. The corned beef is yummy - I wish they put more beef on the plate! (Even one more slice would be good.) Drinks = good! Fruit flies at the bar = not so good. Still... come! It's a pub, so not upscale. If you want a decent little pub, this place will treat you well.

Yelp
My go-to pub on the ave! Been going for a while now and love the vibe - folks in my major go all the time and for good reason. Thursday Karaoke nights are the highlight of my week. I'm a musical theatre major and we all love coming on by for a nice drink and some good old karaoke. Chill place and great people!
google avatar

Katya L.

Yelp
This is probably my go-to bar on the Ave when I'm not feelin' fancy. Half-off Sunday nights are the best - you can get a filling meal and a double or a couple of pints for under $10. Can't beat that. The salads are good and enormous and the burgers are quite tasty as well. I've come here so many times on Sundays that the bartenders have warmed up enough to joke with me and half the time I don't even get carded at the door. I guess I'm a regular? I'm cool with that.
google avatar

Karynne T.

Yelp
Great location, decent drinks, not so awesome food. They have a lot of specials at this bar and it is a good spot to meet up with college friends after hours. It has a dive bar feel to it and is probably not the place to eat good food. You will probably find regulars here because of its great location on the ave. There is even a small outdoor patio area where people especially like to hang out in the summer when it is warm out. You will most definitely get carded at this bar, as there is a bouncer as you enter.

Yelp
Was not sure about this place as the reviews were weak. Since most restaurants in the area are Asian in nature and we had already had Asian food, we were in the mood for something else. We needed a quick bite before class started. The ambiance was typical of an Irish Pub urban experience for college students. Glad we gave them a chance. It was a Tuesday at 5 PM and they offered $6.00 appetizers and $2.00 tacos. All of the food was very good! Coconut shrimp, mozzarella sticks, hot wings, tacos and wedge salad all hit the spot for three people with eclectic cravings. Service was very good and I would definitely return, especially during happy hour on a Tuesday! The food was truly satisfying with no question. Hot fudge brownie and ice cream was a great way to end the meal!

Yelp
I've gone here enough times, that the waitresses bring me iced tea without my having to ask, and know my order by heart (even if I forget to ask for extra pickles). When you walk in, the place does have a feeling of a dive. But if you walk towards the back, there are a few sky lights and things brighten up. The burgers are great and juicy. The fries are some of the best on the ave, big home fries, cooked all the way through and crispy but not oily. The iced tea is great (sometimes it's been off and the waitress went back to remake the batch for me). This is a great place for hearty lunches, watching soccer games, and enjoying a pint with friends!
google avatar

Yelp
i often come here for their $1 well drinks on wednesday nights. venue - not enough tables for large groups. place is not very clean either. bartender - nice and they often remember your orders if you visit frequently. lots of college students!

Yelp
There was a sign outside that said $6 bloody mary's and $5 mimosas. So my hubby and I went in and got just that. Apparently it wasn't until happy hour (and my husband insisted that the sign did not specify just during happy hour), and apparently it was much more than that. Much more. And my mimosa didn't even taste like it had any alcohol in it. I swear it was just OJ. And I had no buzz. I'm a light weight and am usually drunk off of one mimosa. Usually... And I tasted his Bloody Mary. I've only recently started tasting Bloody Mary's when my husband orders them and they're always so yummy. This one was disgusting. Blech. It tasted metallic or something wrong. Anyway, we didn't get food because we just ate at the U-District street fair. The staff was nice. It wasn't crowded at the time (around 1ish). And we brought our doggy in with us. Doubt I'd ever come back.
google avatar

Yelp
Finn's is a UW staple. Seriously, if you went to UW and never went to Finn's, that's just wrong and criminal. I'm pretty sure I went to 95% of Well Wednesdays during my Senior year, and there ain't no shame in that (Um, can you pass up $1 well drinks? Didn't think so). If you go for Well Wednesdays, go early around 7:45 ish, grab a table, have someone in your group hold the fort down then get yourself a dollar drink. Or three. On Thursdays there's some really entertaining Karaoke thanks to your local inebriated undergrads, and I'm pretty sure that's also "Ladies' Night" so girls get $2 well drinks til 10 or something like that. Their tacos on Taco Tuesdays are also only $2 and surprisingly decent.

Yelp
Came on a Saturday night to check out the bar scene. It was pretty empty and plenty of space to walk around and order drinks. Some kids were playing beer pong in the backroom. We bought a round, realized it was more expensive than the first place we went, and left to check out the rest of what the street had to offer.

Yelp
Let me tell you how hilariously stupid this story is. I've been to this bar multiple times for months now. Never have I had a problem with a door bouncer until tonight. My fiancé and our 2 friends get in line to go into the bar like any other night we've been here. A red-headed bearded bouncer is rushing everyone through with an attitude and we are up next. The guy checks my ID and is telling people to move to give him elbow space and is flailing his arms around and almost elbows a dude leaving the bar. I simply said "Cmon man". I'm just trying to get into this bar and chill with my friends. The line to get in was already long and is now piling up way outside the door in 40 degree weather. This dude decides the best way to do his job is try to flex his ego and hold up EVERYBODY so he can tell me "how hard his job is". You're looking at IDs and almost elbowed a dude in the face. You almost fucked up LOOKING AT IDs. Pretty tough job I'd say. Bouncer guy then proceeds to stamp my arm and as I'm walking by he wants to flex his ego one more time by telling me "you should learn some respect". My last comment to this dude is "you need to earn it" as I'm almost in the bar. Our hero then decides to stop me completely and tell me to "get out of his bar". I ask him "for what reason?" And the dude says I have an attitude and he doesn't want me here. He runs the bar. He owns it I guess. Really great impression of an owner. This guy was already slow at checking my ID in the first place. Now he's trying to get someone else over so he can escort me out. The whole time people are cold as shit waiting in line outside the bar. I offer our genius an alternative by saying I'll wait on the side here while you check IDs. I don't want to hold up the line because of this guy. He repeatedly says "no, you need to get out or I'll escort you out." At this point I didn't even care for going in anymore, but just wanted to tell the irony of the story to the person running the bar. After about a minute of him refusing my offer to wait on the side while he gets someone I just leave. The last thing I tell our ID checking savant is "I'm not doing this for you, but I don't want to hold the line because of you." Ironic that a door bouncer who rushes people decides the best option is to hold everyone up while he flaunts his ego. You want to become a better bar instantly then I suggest you get rid of the egomaniac at your door. Nobody had a problem until he started it. I hope his bouncer career takes him to greater heights because you know...looking at IDs is so difficult.

Yelp
Cheapest drinks in town, conscientious bartenders, good food at reasonable prices, decent music, convenient location... I can't say anything negative about this Irish dive and the positives really add up!
google avatar

Gaurav M.

Yelp
I went here with a couple of friends. We had Irish Nachos and the Fries, neither of which was particularly great. Thankfully, we had a pitcher of lager to wash it down with. The service wasn't anything to remember either.

Yelp
The service was so bad. Don't order food here, unless if you want to wait 1 hour for a chicken sandwich.. plus it was not even tasty. Definitely not coming to this place again

Yelp
One of the homework assignments I have for this week involves observing people for at least one hour, so I ended up going to Finn McCools to take care of both the hunger I was feeling and to get the notes done for my homework. It was about 4pm on a Sunday. Almost everybody in there appeared to be a regular, focused on the (football) game, looked to be about 30+ years of age, and pretty much everyone (except me) chose to sit at or next to the bar. Only one person seemed to be a little intoxicated. The staff (both females) seemed to be nice. They didn't really check in with me much, but that didn't really matter after they took my order. Plus they were surrounded by customers and I was sitting in a corner at least 4 tables away from everyone else. I'm a new beer drinker so I wasn't sure what to get. She ended up recommending I try the Kokanee, which I ended up enjoying. As for food, I had the fish and chips. Now... I really don't like places that charge about $10 for the dish but only have 2-3 tiny pieces of fish. This place? They had four large pieces of fish and I was happy. I couldn't actually finish all that, though, so now two of those are sitting in my fridge. It tasted pretty good, but I recently had fish & chips served on a bed of lettuce (somewhere?) and I actually liked having those greens to munch on. Oh, well. The women's bathroom is decent and doesn't make me cringe like so many of the U-District restaurant bathrooms. This is good. Over-all I had a pretty good experience here. I could definitely see this place being horrible when it's super busy, though, so I'll make sure any future visits happen when it's pretty slow and chill.

Yelp
I used to live right behind Finns. I could literally see their back windows from the front window of my apartment. I've spent a lot of time there and it feels very much like someplace I belong except on Friday and Saturday nights when it's usually packed with frat boys. Just to be clear, this is a dive bar. One of my favorite dive bars, but a dive bar nonetheless. The floor is covered with absorbent, durable rugs and clean isn't a word I'd use to describe it. You're not likely to find any fancy beers on tap or fancy drinks. That being said, you can get a pint of Guinness or whatever other simple and common beer you want with no problem. There are a lot of big, comfy booths which you can get a good group of people into and relax and have fun. The pub grub is much better than average here. They have a salmon caesar salad that's really good, a club sandwich that hits the spot and a blue cheese burger that while not the best in Seattle is damn tasty. Finn's is also a great breakfast or lunch spot. It opens early, the waitstaff are friendly and the place is a lot less crowded than it is at night. I wind up here for lunch once a month or so while I'm at UW and I never regret it. If you're looking for a fancy bar, this is not it. If you're looking for a friendly pub that's a bit of a dive, but has surprisingly good food and decent enough beer (assuming you like Guinness), this is your place.

Yelp
What planet is the management from? I had a nice holiday meal, good food, good service, bill is $11.01. I pay with a $20 bill and get back $8.75. The attendant explains that they don't handle denominations less than 25 cents, so they kept the quarter to pay the 1 cent of the bill. She said this as if it just made sense and we should all simply accept it. Some places round to the nearest nickel or even dime, but usually round in the customer's favor. I've never heard of keeping a quarter to cover a penny. And I've never heard of losing a customer -- not to mention others within earshot who weren't thrilled with the interaction -- over 24 cents. As a favor to yourself, find some other place that doesn't have brown smelly stuff for brains.

Yelp
I used to be a regular here on Sundays until I moved to Lynnwood a year and a half ago. Had no idea that they changed their happy hour from half off your tab to only doing it on drinks and pizza. I'm super bummed out because I was looking forward to having my Mac and cheese and meatloaf....now I'm stuck eating appetizers. Service is still great though. Just as I remembered it, I just have to get used to not having my favorites anymore.....

Yelp
Not terrible, but not great. I walked into Finn's during a UW home game, so there was a light, but pleasant and lively crowd, but plenty of places to sit. They were playing the UW game along with some other college and NFL teams, so plenty of variety there. Off to a great start. The booth we were seated in was torn a bit on the seat, but hey it kinda has the divey, collegey, sports bar vibe, so not a major deal. They have a variety of specials, including solid happy hour. We came for the happy hour of $5 apps and $4 micro brews. Plan was to split an app and have one beer. That was quickly deterred and where I start to get let down: those go out the window on game days AND there is nothing on the menu that says otherwise, only the staff will tell you. They have a game day special of a bucket of Session IPA, but does not define what a bucket is. (Pro tip, it's four tall boys). We ended up getting the bucket and Irish nachos ($11 vs. the $5 they would have been at happy hour costs). For those as unfamiliar with Irish nachos as I was before this, they are nachos with potato chips instead of corn or flour. They were okay, but the flavor of a potato chip with nacho fixings doesn't really make sense to me, but I may not have been the target market being sober. It was just okay and not something I really feel I need to try again in any restaurant, so not just Finn exclusive. PRO: the waitstaff were great. Friendly and attentive and the food/beers came out quickly.

Yelp
Really appreciated he bartender (female Sunday night 6/102018) She was very helpful and nice. Good choices very on hiring her. Great personality and customer service . Which lacks these days. Food was good. But service can seal or break the deal for me and she did awesome.

Yelp
This is a shitty bar for college kids. If you are older than 21, avoid this place. Friday night atmosphere: people playing pool in the back. Lots of people in the front. Fight your way to the bar to order anything. The bartender acts likes you are causing an inconvenience. If you are looking for a friendly bartender, waitress, bouncer, or staff you won't find them here. The bouncer proceeded to bend my out of state license to determine it's validity. The waitress ignored me when I told her I wanted to order food. The bartender doesn't know how to pour a beer without head. This place sucks. Let's see how the food is.

Yelp
Not very impressed with this place. I went here with my husband on a lunch break as we are both graduate students at UW and was very unimpressed with the service & establishment as a whole. Although the server was really nice, we ordered an appetizer and the fish & chips for our lunch to split. We get our app... Mac and cheese bites which were pretty good and 20 minutes later we were told they were out of the fish and chips. Now, I work as a server as well and I have been through this with the chefs in our kitchen so I am willing to bet the cook didn't see the ticket for a while and/or waited to tell the server after time had passed... Whatever the case, it was a little annoying. A more genuine apology or an offer to give us a discount would have been appreciated. The manager seemed to be working on her own stuff and probably had no idea this was going on, or maybe did and didn't care. Regardless, if something like this happened where I work we would have given them a dessert or discounted the ticket for the inconvenience.

Yelp
If you really enjoy faux "Irish" pubs staffed with rude bartenders and annoying clientele that look like your uncle put up tons of BS Euro schwag in his garage to attract 21 year olds then welcome home. The beer pong tables are warm, the roofie-coladas ready and plenty of screeching Trixies to make any popped collar male salivate. I love asking "what do you have on tap?!?" and being met with "everything you see here". Don't work too hard. You might herniate a disk. If you're over 23 and have self respect you shouldn't be drinking here.

Yelp
This place is alright, usually end up here when the line for Earl's is a mile long and I'm not sober enough to drive to Dante's. The front area of this bar is super tight, on a packed night it's really hard to maneuver and you often have to 'power through' as my friends call it to actually move around. On Thursday nights they have free karaoke which is really cool. It's always cool having the whole bar singing along with whoever is on stage when they pick a well known song. Note that seating can be hard to find on a crowded night. The drinks here are meh and I feel like they hold back a lot on the amount of liquor they pour in your drinks. So if you're looking to get drunk you should probably prefunk and save some money. Like most bars in the udist this place is super casual, you don't often see that many people dressing up to come to Finns. If you're planning a trip to the Ave this bar is decent. I would say karaoke night is the best night to give Finns a try. Hope you enjoy :)
