My experience with Finnair: flight Vienna - Helsinki - LAX. Flight is supposed to depart at 11.35. At 9.35am, 2 members of the crew arrive to check in counter, and start turning all the systems on. Check in for almost full flight starts at 9.47am. Check in moves SLOW. Flight is delayed by about 40 minutes, I miss my connecting flight. I request compensation from Finnair because I reached my final destination with 7+ hour delay. Response: blaming the weather. Oh, and for the long flight they provide 1 meal. The 2nd meal you have to buy. And they rerouted me on American Airlines flight, who did not provide any blankets and it was very cold in the plane.
Instead of 1 stopover, I had 2 stopovers. The positive is that the plane temperature on Finnair was good, seats were comfortable, crew was very nice and friendly.
