Fior Italy in Medford is the kind of place that instantly feels like home. Warm, welcoming, and family-oriented, it offers a dining experience that feels less like a night out and more like a beautifully prepared home-cooked meal—if your home happened to be filled with the flavors of Ischia and Napoli in Italy.
From the moment you sit down, the attention to detail is evident. The bread, served warm, is delightfully spongy on the inside with a crisp exterior—perfect for dipping into their rich and flavorful olive oil. It’s a small touch, but one that sets the tone for the meal to come.
One of our favorite appetizers is the zucchini flowers, delicately battered to achieve the perfect crisp while still allowing the flower to hold the light, fluffy ricotta filling until the first bite. It’s a beautiful balance of texture and flavor.
The eggplant parmigiana is another standout. Lightly battered and cooked to perfection, it’s topped with a layer of exquisitely melted cheese, slightly charred for added depth. The tomato sauce is incredibly fresh, its natural sweetness and acidity balanced with just the right amount of seasoning. A final touch of basil adds the perfect aromatic finish.
Their ravioli is my go-to dish, while my wife enjoys exploring the specials, especially their pescatarian offerings. The ravioli is always freshly made, with a ricotta and tomato sauce combination that complements each other beautifully. The addition of basil enhances the dish, giving it an elevated yet comforting feel.
One of the things we love most about Fior Italy is that they keep their menu refined and focused, allowing each dish to truly shine. Their specials always introduce exciting, fresh locally sourced ingredients, adding an element of discovery to every visit.
The seafood risotto, another favorite, is a perfect representation of their ability to bring the coastal flavors of Ischia and Napoli to the table. This isn’t Italian-American cuisine; it’s authentic Italian cooking, deeply rooted in tradition.
We’ve been coming here since we moved to Boston almost two years ago, and every visit reaffirms why this restaurant has become a favorite. Though my wife and I are pescatarian, if their seafood and vegetarian dishes are this exceptional, we can only imagine that the rest of the menu is equally outstanding.
For anyone looking for a cozy, intimate setting with food that transports you straight to Italy, Fior Italy is a must-visit.
