Iconic Places to Eat and Drink in North Lake Tahoe That Live Up to Their World-Class Views | Eater SF

"Fire Sign Cafe is a breakfast and lunch institution on Tahoe’s West Shore, loved by locals and visitors alike for more than 40 years. It’s situated inside a cozy and charming single-story building with wood paneling, a fireplace, and, in the summertime, a sun-drenched patio. The menu serves classic brunch fare, but many of the items have their own tried-and-true variations, such as the veggie eggs Benedict with avocado and tomato, or the Rhonda, a grilled sandwich similar to Fire Sign’s Reuben, but with turkey instead of pastrami. The fresh-squeezed orange juice is tasty, too." - Julie Brown Davis

We went here for breakfast and ordered the pancakes, French toast, and huevos rancheros – all three were excellent. The syrup they served was especially amazing – so good that we even told them how much we loved it, and they kindly gave us a small jar of it to take home. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The only downside was that the tables weren’t very clean, and the menu they gave us was very old and dirty – we really didn’t expect that, and honestly, it gave us a bad first impression. Still, the food was so good that we’ll definitely be coming back. This was our second time coming to Fire Sign for breakfast this week — that’s how much we loved it! Once again, everything was fantastic: the food was delicious, the service was warm and friendly, and the whole experience was just great. Highly recommend!

Google
Came on a weekend for lunch, was about a 30min wait. You can kill time across the road at a little supermarket or enjoy some waterfront views by the William Kent beach. We ordered their specials - pulled pork sandwich and cowboy benedict (eggs bene on southern biscuits), gravy and biscuits, fire sign crepes. I loved the specials, the pulled pork plus apple slaw and fluffy bread, very delish! Parking is okay, there’s more parking towards the back of the restaurant. Would recommend and come again when we’re in Tahoe!

Google
The ambience is great — cozy and inviting. However, the food was just so-so, and the vegetarian options in particular were quite limited and not very impressive. Service was on the slower side, though the staff were kind and welcoming, which helped. Overall, if you have the time and other choices nearby, I’d suggest exploring those.

Google
Nice cafe with a lot of options, the service was very fast and the food was tasty. 4 starts because nothing new or out of the ordinary or amazing, just good! Enjoyed the french toast and the coffee was also ok. Seems like a popular spot and it’s a standard American spot. We sropped here on our way back home. The scrambled eggs were ok, I didn’t like the cheese, but my husband enjoyed it.

Google
My family had lunch here on the recommendation on some locals. We were not disappointed. My wife and I ordered sandwiches and my kids all ordered breakfast 30 minutes before close. My daughter would drive the 10 hours for the omelette. Portions were big but not unmanageable and we all almost finished everything. And if you have a kiddo who likes to order chocolate milk - do it! You won't regret it.

Google
We waited about 60 minutes to be seated, even though tables were becoming available and just sitting empty for a while. Once seated, the portions were definitely large, but honestly, the food wasn’t worth the long wait. Might be better on a less busy day, but this visit was disappointing.

Google
SO glad I checked out this spot. Needed a place to grab a bite and get some work done. It was a quiet Wednesday morning, but the upstairs seating was already full. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Food was good: eggs very fluffy, great aioli, plenty of cheese, and well cooked salmon. Some people took video calls while working, but didn't disrupt the overall volume. If you need to work/read/write and enjoy good service + plenty of light, I recommend this cafe.

Google
We found this place thanks to google. I had the Spanish omelette which came with potatoes and a choice of toast or their homemade bread for the day. I opted for the banana chocolate chip bread which was outstanding. The omelette and potatoes were cooked perfectly. We also ordered sour dough bread French toast and banana pancakes. Got real maple syrup as well. The service was excellent with many check ins and coffee refills. We are here for the weekend and will definitely visiting this place multiple times. I don’t know how it could be rated below 5 stars. This is highly recommended!

Yelp
I'm not from the US, the crepe savoury breakfast was ridiculously good. One of the best ever plus our server, Ryan was super cool, friendly and always had a smile on his face :) Cant wait to go back!!!

Yelp
Was in Olympic Valley for a wedding and the hotel receptionist referred us to Fire Sign, said it's the best breakfast in town. Without hesitation, we listened to the local's advice and were not disappointed. The portions were huge and it was very delicious. Everything came out within a reasonable amount of time and everything was hot and fresh. My fiancé and I were eavesdropping on the employees' conversing (it was hard not so since we were sat right by their station) and apparently they were understaffed today. Even with a few members short, the service was still great and the employees were still very attentive to the guests - great work ethic from this team. Will definitely come back again.

Yelp
A must stop when you're in town. Food was delicious, filling and generously portioned. The mimosa was also great. Get the mug it's just a dollar more, totally worth it. Service was 12/10. Staff very attentive and friendly. Love the set up of the restaurant. We got there early so the wait wasn't long.

Yelp
Been going here for years, before the crowds and the logo change. We have always enjoyed the service and the breakfast sandwich is my go to with a side of spicy aioli. Summer is the best for outside seating and enjoying the views of tourist. I do miss Covid when you could get a bottle of champagne to go and no crowds...

Yelp
Back up to #1 on the lake! A perfectly cooked Benedict--it cannot be done any better than this.

Yelp
It's been a long since I stopped in for breakfast before hitting the slopes. This was my first time having breakfast during the summer season. It was a late morning Sunday breakfast, and there was a bit of a wait, 20-30 minutes for two. They use a paging system, so you can't go too far. We ordered a crepe with hollandaise sauce and an eggs benedict. I didn't want the English muffins; the server suggested fresh sliced tomatoes instead. Everything was fresh and well-prepared with efficient service. Fire Sign is a solid breakfast spot. I would go back and try other items.

Yelp
Came here after watching the sun rise for some breakfast. Luckily we had read online that it fills up quickly and I'm glad we saw that. We got to the doors at 7:23 and there was a line of people waiting for the doors to unlock. There was woman doing it all and she was killing it. We waited a bit for coffee but I couldn't blame her. The portions were huge and the food was great! I suggest stopping here.

Yelp
Excellent food. A bit tardy service. I think they were very busy and had fewer servers

Yelp
We really love coming to the Fire Sign Cafe every year. They are very busy in the summer, but its worth the wait. Today we enjoyed being outside and the food was great. Special thanks to Ryan for his spunky attitude and quick service. We will continue to always come and enjoy! Some people are just negative on Yelp and it's unfortunate when they send a negative review. I prefer to always be positive and if things aren't great I dont return.

Yelp
I have been coming here for 15 years! Always love the food and friendly, casual vibe! But this week I have come twice and service has been extremely slow. My impression is the kitchen is overwhelmed. This is a management problem, but the servers are left to deal with patron frustration. At very least, I feel customers shoud be comped drinks or given some consideration if their food order takes an hour to arrive. Hope this suggestion is taken in the supportive manner it is offered.

Yelp
You must order the Huevos Rancheros and yes, add the Chorizo! I went during the winter snow and this restaurant was a nice refuge from the freezing weather. The day I went it, the snow came down pretty hard (which we wanted) and my family played/sledded in an open area right in front of the cafe. The staff was very attentive and the food was great. This might just be the best place in Tahoe City to grab a bite! Next time, I'll try one of their egg benedicts.

Yelp
Very fresh, homestyle cooking. The savory crepe with hollandaise was delish. The tostada is super filling and perfect for a meal after a grueling bike ride. Lots of options for vegetarians. The house made Bloody Mary was super tasty. There were so many things on the menu I wanted to try but one can eat only so much. Ryan greeted me as soon as I walked in and welcomed us on the patio with our dog. He was funny and his service friendly. He even gave us tips on a couple nearby hikes. It felt like an old time diner where it's casual and you immediately feel welcome. Easy parking right off the main road. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Had vegan options but not many or great ones unfortunately. For breakfast I had a tofu scramble with dry bread (no vegan butter option). It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great. Very tofu heavy and I had hoped for more vegetables. There was cooked spinach dropped on top and not mixed within. I think they could definitely make it better, more fresh and appetizing to look at with colored veggies. It did end up upsetting my stomach a bit later. Was super disappointed I couldn't even get a side of potatoes. We were told they were premade and had butter mixed in. Making fresh potatoes without butter was not an option apparently. This felt surprising since it's a restaurant after all but alas I took what I could get. Fresh squeezed OJ was good. Cozy little spot. But likely wouldn't come here again by choice. It seemed a popular spot for local older folks!

Yelp
Delicious delicious food and affordable prices. Prompt service. Unbelievable fresh squeezed orange juice. Options to sit outside. Also, a very happy baby got a very large kids portion.

Yelp
Back to Fire Sign again and something about this place just hits different. I think it's the old style wood tables and chairs, quaint cabin decor, and Jackson Browne radio backing the conversation with friends and family while I sipped an always full cup of coffee. Even though I usually place more emphasis on the food, and the banana bread was a touch dry, my eggs were obnoxiously cheesy and the French toast left me wanting a bit more batter, sometimes it's better to be reminded there's no such thing as perfect. That said, the service is great. You'll feel like family here. Be it winter or summer, Fire Sign has you covered for a down home start to the day on the lake.

Yelp
A Tahoe favorite! A must try if you're in the area looking for an awesome brunch spot! The vibes are chill, the food is tasty, and the service is great. They have a lot of great menu items to choose from! Something for every palate! I came here with a friend and had a fantastic experience. We came during the brunch rush, so there was bit of a wait. Pro-tip: Go to the back bar and sit at the bar and order a mug of mimosas! It will make the time go by faster and the bartenders are fun and friendly! I love that this restaurant is gluten free friendly. They offer a gluten free bread option. I had the Cape Cod Benedict! It was a big portion of fresh house-smoked salmon (not lox) with avocado, tomato, and gluten free bread. This was fire and full of flavor. If you like salmon and Benedict's, I highly recommend this entree! The home fried potatoes are tasty too! Overall, amazing brunch! Our server was great! If you can get a table outside during a nice day, definitely sit on the patio! I can't wait to get back for some more delicious brunch!

Yelp
While we always stay at Incline Village when visiting Tahoe, we make a point of driving over to Tahoe City for lunch at the Fire Sign Cafe. Over the years we have been coming here, we have found consistently good food and good service. Make that great food and great service. DH was delighted with his lunch option during our fall visit: Turkey Club Sandwich which was traditional in style and a cup of Loaded Baked Potato Soup. He substituted the soup for the usual chips and salsa. Only a $2 additional charge. I always appreciate half-size salads. You can't go wrong with Fire Sign's Spinach Salad with mushroom, red onion, hard boiled egg, warm chopped bacon, toasted almonds, and a warm housemade dressing. It is hard for me to pass up a homemade bakery treat. The special of the day was a berry muffin. It was the kind of muffin I grew up with. Texture was "muffin perfect" -- although I imagine folks who have grown up with grocery store muffins would wonder why it was not more like a cupcake in texture. Not overly sweet. Could have used a few more berries. Thank you, Fire Sign staff! As long as we continue to visit Tahoe, Fire Sign will be a must stop!

Yelp
On a recent trip I was looking for a cafe that had gluten free options for my daughter. Fire Sign had a lot of options to give her variety with her meal choice. We all decided it was too hard to pass up French toast and went that route for lunch. The French toast was delicious. Our waiter Ryan was attentive. The atmosphere was excellent. We will make this a regular stop when we are visiting Tahoe in the future.

Yelp
We've been coming here for over 20 years. They seem to be short staffed as many tables remain empty even though there is always a wait. The food was meh. Prices up, portion size down. I remember the breakfast burrito as something that had to be shared. Not so much now.

Yelp
Always my favorite place on the lake. This breakfast and lunch spot has been crushing it for years and continues to deliver great food. They have inside and outdoor seating and it is always crowded so go early or be patient max it's worth it. The staff has some regulars and many transplants for the summer. Both menus are lights out I highly recommend the sausage Benedict, the crepes and any scramble especially the one with Gouda and their pancakes and fresh pastries daily. The tuna melt is my favorite lunch item! If you have to wait they have a coffee house out back with games and sitting outside in the summer is glorious. Check out Firesign it is a true representative of the greatness of Tahoe in a casual environment

Yelp
For this trip to Lake Tahoe, we set out on our expedition to Emerald Bay on a Thursday. We needed to fuel up for our hike and stopped in at the Fire Sign Cafe. I guess after Labor Day is considered off season and so there was no line or wait to be seated. We opted to sit outside and somewhat regretted it due to the buzzing bees wanting to enjoy our meal with us. No fault of Fire Sign Cafe but it did cause some panicked swatting at the air and food to warn the bees to keep on moving. We also had the brave birds who are well fed here land on our table and make a move towards my plate. Again this was no big deal and we laughed it off. The food was tasty and fueled us up for our next adventure at Emerald Bay and a tough hike. I ordered the Bakers Eggs Benedict full order and the wife got a scramble of some kind. We quite enjoyed the home made item and a bowl of greek yogurt and fruit. I opted for green tea and the wife opted for coffee which she said was "okay". I think it is worth stopping here on your way to Emerald Bay.

Yelp
I had saved this place based on a recommendation for their eggs benedict. It was convenient that we happened to be camping right next door so we had to try it. Nice outdoor patio area and the interior is really cozy. The staff was really friendly and quick to get people seated and taken care of. We got the veggie and the cape cod benedict. The portions on these are pretty big, which was a pleasant surprise after camping in near freezing weather. The food was piping hot and so good. The portion of the salmon was great, much bigger than I was expecting. Same with the veggie, they are very generous with the avocado portion. Everything was cooked perfectly, the yolks flowed out beautifully. Potatoes were good too. I definitely would order again, though probably do half portions next time.

Yelp
Absolutely LOVE this place! My friends and I came here our last morning of our ski trip for breakfast and collectively decided that we should have eaten there daily. Haven't tried lunch foods but everything on their breakfast menu was phenomenal. We ordered and split six dishes. My favorite was the French toast with fresh strawberries. My friend had the salmon Benedict which was great. And we all loved their coffee cake and West Shore Special! Walking into this place was comforting. It felt like a mix between an old timey diner and mountain cabin. Service was slow but we didn't mind. It fit the relaxed and comforting vibe. Our waitress was super nice and checked on us throughout without bothering us, always making sure our coffee was full. Will be back!

WolfDaddy O.

Yelp
The staff seem nice enough but the frenzied service couldn't get any worse. Very focussed on young clientele only and the cross contamination by the staff is off putting. Fingers in empty glasses are the same fingers in filled glasses as they pour and move drinks. Waited at the table for everything: menu, order, drink, utensils, bill. They have to be prompted for everything. Then beard hair in my food. Nope. This place is a hard pass. Public health concerns.

Yelp
We arrived to Tahoma two years ago and have been coming to the Fire Sign Cafe ever since. We love it. Service is great, food is great. Location is great. And, the prices are quite reasonable. Know that there will be a long wait, like every place in the Tahoe area. However, anytime there is a wait, we walk across the street to the West Shore Cafe for a cup of coffee and peer out at the beautiful lake.
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
An absolute must! This café was a highlight to my weekend in Tahoe! Every plate this café kitchen was bringing out, looked better than the next. The French toast is big and fluffy, the breakfast scramble can be made however, you like, the huevos rancheros were flavorful and very generous in portion. The service was fast and very accommodating. There's always going to be a line for fireside Café. Everybody in town wants breakfast from this place. And it's for a reason! The wait is never long, so don't let that discourage you. Reasonably priced and the most adorable little café in this beach town. I can't wait to come back here my next trip to Lake Tahoe. Catching the sunrise and breakfast at fire sign and then heading out on a little hike. Made the most perfect beautiful morning.
google avatar

Niki J.

Yelp
Absolutely Delicious! We had an excellent experience for brunch/lunch. There were 4 of us and there was something for everyone and I loved the savory crepes with perfect hollandaise! I always ask for the sauce in the side and it was just perfect! Lots of layers of flavor. I added a fruit cup and it was fantastic! We will be back m found several things I would love to enjoy. 5 star service and excellent quality food.

Kaitlyn T.

Yelp
This is a must spot for those visiting Lake Tahoe :) Our group loved everything we ordered and service was quick and friendly! Seems like they are known for their Benedict's (which did not disappoint)! Really liked their lattes too! Also, we were able to park around the corner close to the annex, but on busier days, you'd need to arrive early (7:30am open) to get a spot like Father's Day/4th of July
google avatar

Rick S.

Yelp
It has been quite a while since I last ate here. I love this place and the food is great...it has been for years. They have outside seating until the snow comes as well as comfey inside seating and additional space in the adjacent annex. The prices are fair and the food excellent so it is a place the locals frequent. The wait staff are friendly and efficient. Ownership has changed but they were smart enough to leave the menu alone and retain the kitchen staff. Firesign is always a good choice.

Natalie B.

Yelp
Food and service was great!!!! It was packed for brunch so be prepared for a wait but I'll be back for sure!!!!!
google avatar

Marisa P.

Yelp
This place was so good! I came here in my honeymoon twice and we were impressed both times. The service was great and the portions were hearty. The atmosphere was quaint and clean and perfect for a little getaway breakfast. If we make it back to town this will definitely be on the list.
google avatar

Yelp
I met customers at the Fire Sign Cafe and have to tell you I'm glad they turned me on to this local hangout. The servers were on it and took very good care of us from the time we hit the door to leaving. I had a surprisingly good burrito, and all three of us enjoyed our meals. I hear the breakfasts are really good and definitely plan on giving them a shot for my favorite meal, breakfast.
google avatar

Yelp
Was in town for the weekend and came here for breakfast. The restaurant is right off the main road easy to find. Parking lot is a decent size. Service was great. Everyone was really friendly our waitress gave great recommendations. Ambiance is mom and pop cafe vibe. Very cozy and inviting. We were seated right away. I ordered the half crepe. I really like that some items can be made a half order. My husband got the burrito they were both delicious seasoned really well. I also order a mimosa of course. Great place to stop by and grab some food.
google avatar

M D.

Yelp
5/5!! Sound the alarm! Breakfast was scrumptious and delightful. When we arrived @9am on a Saturday we got seated right away even with how busy it was. We chose to sit outside in the nice brisk air (wear a jacket). Food- 1.)eggs Benedict -cooked to perfection with sausage. (Sausage was a little spicy) 2.)omelette with the works- seasoned well and flavorful. The butter on the toast was really good. Condiments are on the table-salt,pepper, jelly packets, ketchup, hot sauce etc. Plenty of parking all around or you can park across the street. After your done eating you can walk to the lake and enjoy the view!
google avatar

Lan T.

Yelp
I got there on a Sunday of a 3-day weekend holiday around 11am-ish. Wait was about 20 minutes. Food was tasty. My husband go the savory crepe and I got the french toast. My only complaint is that I ordered a scrambled egg for my 2 year old daughter, and I thought I was pretty clear that the egg was for my daughter; however they charged me the regular menu price for a side egg.

rosie m.

Yelp
We went kayaking near by and read the reviews from this restaurant and decided to give it a try. Once we were seated, it took about 10 minutes for a waiter to take our order. After waiting 40 minutes and noticing other people getting food, I asked the hostess if our food would be coming soon. She found out it was almost ready. Our waiter finally shows up, drops off our food never asking us if everything looked good or if we needed more drinks (which we did). We never saw him again. I stopped another waitress that was refilling drinks of I could get a refill. The food was pricy for what you get. I got half an order of the sausage benedict The egg was cooked nicely but the potatoes were undercooked. So essentially I paid for 1 egg benedict at the cost of $13.00. My husband got the Cajun burger, and he said it was just okay but nothing special. It might have been better if the service was more on par.

Yelp
My experience was a little strange here. Came for a friend's birthday, and two of her friends said it was their favorite place to eat, and I saw the 4.5 stars on Yelp and was all in. There were 5 of us. I ordered a hot chocolate with almond milk, she asked small or large I asked for a small and when it came out it was definitely a small mug. Keep that in mind for a later paragraph, wish I got a better size up picture instead of the one I took... anyhow I decided on the gluten free toast as the pics on Yelp looked good. Two couples that came in after us received their food before us. One of the tables was actually still occupied by other people when we got there, so they were able to clean that table, seat other people, and serve them before us. I don't think we ordered anything crazy. Benedict's and a regular "American" type breakfast eggs, bacon, potatoes. Our food came out, and granted I haven't been gluten free before so not sure I can base anything off that but what I do know is it came out not looking appetizing or cute or anything lol the presentation was certainly basic. The pieces of toast weren't even in alignment just thrown on the plate (I'm being picky but it just goes with everything else) so I ALSO WAS mislead by Yelp photos and not researching as I thought the French toast came with strawberries, sadly it didn't. They didn't taste bad but very dry (assuming that's just how gluten free is?) added syrup which I NEVER use because of this. I would not order again. I had a side of chicken sausage from my friend's plate which was fine nothing special, and some potatoes which I only liked if they were burned. Again nothing special just basic. Basically The food wouldn't bring me back in but the inside was cute and I liked the decor. The main issue was after we paid and left I looked at the bill. My French toast should have been 13$ but I was charged 14.75$... I was also charged for a large hot chocolate (ordered and received a small) PLUS charged for almond milk instead of regular milk?! What?? It's not like it's more expensive!! In fact I think it's cheaper than real milk. I would have liked to have been notified there was an upcharge for that. Yea it's only mere dollars we are talking about, but it makes me feel a little taken advantage of. I left unhappy and unsatisfied unfortunately.

Yelp
This popular little place has a great breakfast menu. We had to wait 15-20 minutes for a table, but it was worth it. So many options to choose from. My husband and I shared two different breakfasts. Mine was the savory crepes, stuffed with egg, cheese, and veggies. For a slight upcharge I got a side salad instead of the cubed potatoes. The salad was fresh and full of lettuces, kale, tomatoes, cucumber, and jicama strips. The omelette was full of smoked salmon. We liked both dishes, but I preferred the crepes. The pineapple coconut cake was dense and my husband enjoyed it. Our server was friendly and attentive, even though they were very busy. Great meal!

Yelp
Omg sooooo good!!!! I love how it looks like a cabin and the interior fits in so well. That savory crepe changed my life. Like literally what a great idea. The scrambled eggs inside are so fluffy and I love the mushrooms in there. The Reuben was delicious and had so much melty cheese. Their Arnold Palmer & mixed berry smoothie are yummy. Service was so quick and attentive. Overall a great experience.

Yelp
Great breakfast! Be prepared to wait a bit as the word has gotten out about the place!

Yelp
We had breakfast here twice during our stay in Tahoe. The large Mimosa is a must if you are a fan of those being done right (hint: just a splash of OJ). We tried three different meals over our two visits: Classic 2 egg breakfast which was perfect, the Fire Sign sandwich which was good but needed more bacon while simultaneously still being too big for my wife to eat easily, and the Special with the cheesy potatoes which was fantastic. The baked item of the day was orange strawberry muffins which were excellent. Very friendly service and great food.
google avatar

Barby P.

Yelp
It's very crowded. Service depends on how busy they are. Good is consistently good. Prices are on the high side thanks to the extremely high price of eggs.
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely a wonderful place. Super wonderful staff. Perfect food There cinnamon, walnut, apple fresh back was so so good Definitely recommend this place to anybody passing through doing a lake tour

Yelp
Came here for breakfast while on a mini vacation. This is one of our friend's' , who lives in this area, favorite place for breakfast and I can see why! Both my husband and I ordered the half order of Eggs Benedict. He got the original version and I opted for the veggie which has avocado and tomatoes instead of Canadian bacon; served with a side of potatoes. It was delicious and I appreciated that they offer smaller portions for those that don't have a huge appetite in the morning. It was the perfect amount of food for us! Waitress was great and very attentive and always there to refill your water and coffee. Great spot and I highly recommend if you are in this area!

Yelp
Immmmm baaaaack!! Knowing we were headed back up to Lake Tahoe for the week, Fire Sign Cafe was on top of the list for spots to revisit. I have to sadly say that unfortunately Fire Sign Cafe has gone down hill :-( So...we came here one, bc it was amazing last time. Two, bc they are cool with dogs and have an outdoor patio space. First let me say we did have a bigger group. 4 of us. We were after 20 min seated outside and tbh I couldn't decide what to order. I did end up ordering the Breakfast Burrito mainly bc it was on Yelps recommendations. Sad to say this breakfast burrito fell on its ass. Dry, flavorless, and a miss bc honestly doing a good BB is not that hard. The eggs were dry and they did not use cheese or anything to give it more of a Mexican flavor. I did sub avocado for chorizo but just bc I thought the eggs would be a better compliment to the eggs but of course nope, nothing nada. No good. There are three things that a breakfast burrito has to have - one - a good mix of scrambled eggs (preferably cheesy) two - a nice mix of roasted potatoes or hash browns to give it a good filling and some savory to it and three - at least some kind of meat or go ahead and do avocado but give it some zest as a guacamole or something! Anyway, I had to dose it with Cholula to give it any kind of arable flavor. Anyways - I would NEVER order it again here. Check my past review for what was good before. The rest of my party also did not really enjoy their dishes and after paying top $$$ for this brunch place I would have to say nay next time. Soooo, as far as the service - not good. Our waiter took our order and even though he passed our table about 6x he did not come back and ask us if we were good, needed anything else, or anything - esp ask me if I wanted a refill on my coffee!! Omg - brunch faux paus!! No way do you not serve coffee and ask your customer if he wants more bc we all want at least another cup!! Please!!! That was what really did it and truly disappointed me overall. Just lack of attention from the front of house and back of house. So sad :-( May not be back again! Sucks to say!

Yelp
I ordered a Joe's Scramble w/ cheesy potato upgrade that was so dense and filling that, aside from some M&Ms, it was the only thing I ate all day: 2/7 for breakfast, 4/7 for lunch, and the last 1/7 for dinner. Don't let the fractions scare you away, you don't have to do any math. Unless you order pi. The wife, too, ate half of her food for breakfast and half for lunch. She loved her breakfast sandwich. The service was stellar, friendly and attentive, and the bar area was full of busy teens. I've never seen so many teens without a phone for that long. Though I think one of them instinctively tried texting with a piece of toast. Warning: this place is in demand, so wait times are long and parking may be difficult, but it's worth it. This didn't affect my rating, but no soda refills. They have Only Cans. Also don't get your heart set on any menu items you see online, like the banana nut coffee cake because they might not have it and then your stomach will kick a rock.

Yelp
Fantastic for breakfast! We came to Fire Sign Cafe at around 10 AM on a Saturday morning and there was a 45 minute wait to be seated (as a party of 2). We decided to stick it out and were given a restaurant pager to let us know when our table was ready. Unfortunately, you can't wander too far with these, but there were plenty of benches on the property, as well as an annex where you can grab drinks while you wait. After 45 minutes, we were seated on their (dog friendly) patio, which felt very cozy, with a laidback ambiance. Our server Ryan was very attentive and quickly brought over water for us and our dogs. I ordered a Bloody Mary and the Fire Sign Crepes and my boyfriend got the Firesign Special. The Bloody Mary was good (not amazing), but all the food was fantastic. I loved their hollandaise sauce on the crepes and the dish was delicious and filling. Pricing was also very reasonable. Would happily return!

Yelp
The blueberry waffles with the hot blue raspberry sauce was pretty tasty. I would order that again for sure. Service wasn't the best and was not horrible by any means, I just felt neglected as I had to wait quite awhile to give my order and then had to wait quite some time for the bill and to pay. Other tables looked as if the service was better so it wouldn't prevent me from coming back. Overall nice spot with some outdoor seating and close to one of the campgrounds which made it very walkable which was a plus.

Yelp
My husband and I recently dined here on a Friday Morning when we were in town for the weekend in Tahoma. And let me just say, we were both satisfied and enjoyed the food + the company of the staff. The food was so savory and the Mimosas(mugs) was just what we were expecting it to be, a splash of OJ. It was just what we needed to start our day off and to get a feeling of the environment around us. Inside the cafe was super cozy and warm. *If you plan on going here, go early if you don't want to wait : wait time was 10-15mins for us. We both did not mind the wait at all since it was a beautiful day to be outside. *Casual Wear, comfy but well put together.

Yelp
This is a must for the breakfast eaters. The food is amazing. Every morning drink you could imagine. The fresh made pastries...mouth watering. I had the Bakers Egg Benedict (sausage patties instead of Canadian bacon). My wife had a build your own scramble with a side of fruit. She had hot chocolate with whip cream, and I had fresh squeezed OJ. Amazing! The locals know...now you do too.
