Mm...wings!
I've been craving wings for a while now, so I was happy to try out this new wings place.
Parking is plentiful. There is outdoor patio seating, but there are a ton of flies buzzing around. You'll probably want to eat indoors or else grab your food to go.
There were a few patrons at scattered tables when I came in. The menu boards and order counter are straight ahead when you enter through the main doors. They did tuck a specials board to left, on the wall with the TVs, so I didn't realize there was an 85¢ boneless wings special on Mondays and Tuesdays until after ordering. Good to note for next time.
There is a large variety of flavors to choose from for you bone-in or boneless wings. We ended up getting the 20 piece wings (~$24) with BBQ, lemon pepper, and buffalo classic flavors. Also got honey mustard and ranch sauces for dipping.
It was a bit of a wait to get our food. Maybe 15 minutes or so. When our tray of food arrived, the wings were nice and hot.
I was expecting there to be a complimentary side of crudites and ranch (popular at most wings places - you get celery and carrot sticks with ranch to munch on to compliment your chicken), but looks like Fire Wings doesn't do that. Bummer! Would've been a nice inclusion.
My bone-in BBQ wings were delicious. They fry the wings first before tossing them in the sauce. I personally though the wing pieces were succulent and juicy, but some of the drumlette pieces were unfortunately a bit dry and tough from the deep frying. The BBQ sauce was sweet and tangy with an acidic bite.
I also tried a boneless lemon pepper chicken piece. I didn't like this as much. Couldn't really taste the lemon part of the lemon pepper. The breading was also excessive. Too heavy of a breading for the tiny thin piece of chicken wrapped up in the middle. I guess if you like heavy breading chicken nuggets, you might like this. Maybe I just tried a bad piece, who knows. I personally will stick with my bone-in wings :)
Overall, I had a much better experience here than I've had at Buffalo Wild Wings and WingStop. These weren't the most amazing wings I've ever had, but they were good enough that I'd be willing to consider coming back again. If you're looking for a wings place, give Fire Wings a try.
