"Pizza discussions can be polarizing, and you’re not trying to break up with your friend group while you’re here. Avoid the risk by finding a spot that everyone can agree on. For Durango, this is Fired Up: a wood-fired pizza restaurant right in the heart of Downtown.  Fired Up’s pizzas stand out from the other options around town with their Neapolitan-style pies, high-quality ingredients, and dough that’s made from scratch. The menu includes a nice selection of regular and specialty pies—the crowd-pleasing pepperoni is a strong option, and their bacon green chile pie with smoked mozzarella is also a winner. You can also build your own with any of their available ingredients.  The interior is large and they also offer outdoor seating, including a rooftop patio when it’s warm out. Lunch is the perfect time to eat here—you’ll see fewer crowds and can get back to exploring the downtown area on a full belly afterward. " - kristin smith

Great spot for pizza downtown. Appetizers (stuffed mushrooms) were delicious and appropriately portioned. Pizza had charring typical of wood fired pizza. Kids loved their pepperoni and mushroom pizza. Would recommend for dine in, not carry out. This style of pizza deserves to be eaten fresh.

This is the best pizza I ever had in my life and I am a senior citizen. Service was great - waitress was friendly and patient since they had so many yummy options and once decided, food was delivered quickly. I would frequent this place regularly if I didn't live a couple thousand miles away as I am traveling cross country.

fantastic pizza- we split the Vesuvius (Spicy!) And the Citrus Salad. Both sooo good! We sat outside and enjoyed people watching on Main Ave!

One bite everybody knows the rules! As you can see in the photo the pizza got some flop. The wood fire still gives it some crisp but the hold is not there. But what you can’t see is how amazing this pizza is. What it lacks in the hold it makes up in flavor! The sauce was very robust and the toppings were very delicious on every slice. The pepperoni and meat lovers pizza went perfectly with the classic marg. If you are in Durango it’s a must stop if you are looking for good pizza. 8.7/10

I have ate at many pizza. From local places in Ruidoso at cafe Rio. To Lou malnati's in Phoenix. This place hands down has the best pizza new mexico. It was an hour and forty-five minute wait time. But was well worth the wait. The order: 2 pepperoni pizzas 1 lemon zacula (or racula) 1 mozzarella and jalapeno dip 1 flowerless chocolate cake Verdict: Pep pizza was great. Sauce is very well made. And I think their pep is made in house or bought somewhere authentic. It was salty but blended will with the cheese, basil, and sauce. The lemon zacula (racula) was the show stealer. I never squeezed lemon juice on a pizza, this blended perfectly with the arugula and long cut parmesan or asiago. these pizzas were made so well, but I did not have to add chili flakes, Parmesan or ask for ranch . Mozzarella dip was great. In house made bread with olive oil and oregano/dried basil/Italian herbs. (Again, I'm not sure) Flowerless cake was also great. I'm not a chocolate fan but this cake was amazing. It tasted like a Hersey's chocolate bar that was 4 bars thick but soft like a brownie. It also had a milk like drizzle in top. I wasn't able to give a full 5 for service but it was because they were very busy so I had to place food order with drink order as well so bypass the wait. So if busy I would recommend this so that you minimize wait time.

I've been in a couple times now - it's alright. Not a bad spot overall, and they've got some Colorado beers on tap which is nice. Not a huge variety but some good options. The pizzas look a little better than they are. Like they're not bad, but just feels like there's something a little lacking with overall flavor. Can't put my finger on if it's the dough or sauce or what. It can take a surprising amount of time to get your order, considering how fast these are to cook. Wouldn't go out of my way for it, but worth a shout if you're in the area and in the mood.

First of all I wish I remembered our servers name. He was amazing, and made us feel welcomed. He was quick to answer any questions we had and gave us guidance on good recommendations on the menu. We ordered a pizza and salad to share, a pizza for our little and a margarita… because well we were traveling with our toddler (lol). The drinks came out quickly along with the food. I am giving 4 stars vs 5 because we sat at the food window and a lot of pizzas that were coming out were burnt. We mentioned to our server about the burnt pizzas, and our concern if our littles pizza comes out burnt that he won’t eat it. Our server let us know that they will make sure to turn the pizza often to try to avoid getting it burnt. Since this is a wood fired oven, it often times makes the pizza more burnt. So my recommendation if you don’t like the burnt style pizza to ask them to “undercook” it. Would definitely be back if we ever come back to town!

Here for dinner one weeknight we were in town and got a 12" pizza and a cold Italian sandwich. The pizza was good with fresh ingredients and plenty of basil flavor which we like. The sauce was a little bland and could use some more herbs to make the overall pizza flavor better. The cold Italian sandwich was excellent. Caesar side salad was also very good, though the croutons were quite chewy with little or no crunch. Dezzy was a great server - friendly and good service. We sat outside because the weather was nice, it's in the shade in the late afternoon/evening and it's fun to people watch.

Yelp
First time visiting Fired Up. There were 6 of us. We each ordered a different pizza and salads. I had the spinach salad and it was soooo good. The pizzas were amazing and the drinks were all on point! Our server, Elias, was friendly & so efficient & attentive. He checked in on us several times and was patient as we all deliberated our choices. Wife & I ordered the Fired up pizza & the Vesuvius and they were great! Can't wait to go back

Yelp
August 24, 2024. Saturday. Lunch. Visited here on the advice of one of my wife's friends. We decided to sit outside as it was a lovely day in Durango. Molly, our server, attentively refilled our water and brought our cocktails out before the pizza. I ordered a Durango Smash cocktail ($13). This featured anejo tequila, agave nectar, fresh lemon juice and topped with Grand Mariner. It had a sour finish and I liked it on a warm day. Very refreshing. The pizza was called the Fired Up ($22.75). This came with roasted red bell peppers, fennel sausage, mushrooms and a margherita base. As they were making the pizza I walked to the back bathroom. The kitchen folks aren't wearing hair nets or beard masks. They seemed a little "loose" with the hygiene back there. This came into play when I ate my pizza. The pizza came with large expanses of no toppings at all, just sauce. The last slice of pizza had a long brown hair baked into it. Neither my wife nor I have long brown hair! This made me sick to my stomach as I had previously removed a small hair from another slice I thought was my own. I told Molly and she comped that pizza, but damage was already done. We will not be returning to this establishment.

Yelp
Wonderful outdoor patio, delicious pizza, appetizers and drinks were delicious. Our service was okay - it was the 4th of July so we knew it would be busy. We weren't checked on very often. They are dog friendly, but on the patio only we had to walk up to the podium twice in 30 minutes to check on an available table since we saw one open for quite some time and they were like, "oh you can take that one!" But they wouldn't have sat us if we didn't ask, so that was strange even though we were on the waitlist/with a dog. But this was by far the best meal we had all weekend! The pizza is incredible - worth the wait!

Laura B.

Yelp
The kids pizzas were great. We ordered a 12 inch build your own pizza that cost $15 for the basic charge , but with the skimpy extras it ended up costing like $55! Huh? $4.50 for a few separate leaves of artichoke hearts. $3.50 for a few pieces of chopped garlic, etc. for other add ons. it was way to expensive. I did not want you to put up a fuss. I just paid and left when we were done.

Scott W.

Yelp
Good pizza! I had the "Smokey" which was good, but would have liked it better a tad longer in the oven. The fennel sausage was the best part for me.

Yelp
Lunch today at Fired Up Pizzeria in Durango, Colorado was awesome! Really amazing artisan wood fired pizza with unique flavors that marry together perfectly! Service was quick and friendly. The food was delicious! Located downtown inside an amazing building with a great atmosphere. Within walking to shops makes this a great lunch spot! Highly recommend!

Jeff S.

Yelp
1st time for Marg pepperoni, I like it. It is more subtle than "regular" pizzas. I also like the Meat works. I am a thin crust guy and this is perfect. Great service. Fresh ingredients. But, $50 for 2 12 inch pizzas ‍

Mirrna K.

Yelp
This is our second visit to Fired up pizzeria, we were told our wait was going to be from 20 to 35 min wait but we were seated in less than 15 min, food was great my kids love their pizza and the lit dessert. Environment it's a little loud for my taste but very friendly service, overall great dinner would definitely visit again next time we are here!

Lyndsey E.

Yelp
We were happy to find a wood-fired pizza spot right off Main. Calling in our order for takeout was easy. Tried some basics including a margherita and pepperoni. Pizzas were pretty good and we were happy with the salad selection. Only complaint is that the pizza crust was a little burnt on the ends and a bit flatter than I'm used to. I can imagine it's hard to make wood fired pizza at this elevation, so I'm glad that Fired Up offers it!

Cooper P.

Yelp
The pizza there was delicious. I would recommend the pepperoni pizza or the Vesuvius pizza. I will have to say that the wait times were very long. I get the 25 minute wait time because it was packed. The wait time that did not make sense was getting the check. It took this establishment 20 minutes to get the check. Our server walked by our table many times and acknowledged that we were done and still didn't give us the check. The inside of the place was very cool and unique with pizza boards on the wall. The place was warm and cozy. My final evaluation was that this was too slow and short staffed but still wanted the same tip. 2.

Yelp
You never realize how hungry you are until you either have the thought of eating pizza or get a whiff of pizza aroma while walking by. Both in this case, and the pizza did not disappoint! We ordered a custom pizza with minced garlic, jalapeños and green chilis with a mix of mozzarella and green chili Gouda cheese. The crust was thin, tender, and had beautifully bubbled crust! The sauce was sooooo flavorful. We also got a locally brewed IPA and then a basil hard lemonade. All was delicious. We ordered a 12" pizza and between my husband and I, there were no leftovers. Our server was friendly, quick and attentive. What a great meal and experience.

Richard W.

Yelp
I took my family to FUP for dinner last night around 8pm. We were quickly seated and I was looking at various pizzas being served adjacent to our table. They looked delicious. We ordered a margherita pizza and spinach salad and a Caesar. The spinach salad was good but overpriced for the size. The Caesar was limp with soft croutons. The margerhita was dry and skimpy with all ingredients. There was plenty of real estate on the pizza with very little sauce or cheese, and the basil was not whole Leaf, but crumbles. I commented my dissatisfaction to the server, who brought a replacement. Which to me was about the same. I will order a different item if I visit again. The server and staff were fine.

Yelp
Title: A Slice of Heaven in Durango! I recently had the pleasure of dining at the pizza gem nestled in Durango, California, and I couldn't be more impressed! From the moment I walked in, the aroma of freshly baked dough and tantalizing toppings welcomed me. The pizza at this place is nothing short of spectacular. Each bite is a symphony of flavors, with the perfect balance of gooey cheese, savory sauce, and a crust that strikes the ideal balance between crispy and chewy. Whether you're a fan of classic Margherita or adventurous with a specialty pie, they've got you covered. The service here deserves a special shout-out. The staff is not only friendly but also incredibly attentive. They make you feel like a valued guest, providing recommendations with genuine enthusiasm and ensuring your experience is nothing short of perfect. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it an ideal spot for a casual night out or a family gathering. The attention to detail in both the food and service sets this pizza joint apart from the rest in Durango. I can't wait to return and try more of their delectable offerings. If you find yourself in Durango and craving top-notch pizza with exceptional service, look no further! This place is a true culinary delight that deserves every bit of praise.

Zoe L.

Yelp
5 stars for delicious, chewy crust, nice light sauce and fresh arugula! And a squeeze of lemon, which was new to me and lovely.

G B.

Yelp
Busy but a short wait. Excellent vibe to this place. Easy going and pet friendly. Paige took excellent care of me, my wife and two grandkids (6 and10). My wife and I started off with the Stuffed Mushrooms. We asked the grandkids to try them and they loved them - leaving almost none for us! The kids had their own cheese pizza which they both finished. They have great cocktails - Negroni for me and a Moscow Mule for her (great Ginger Beer). We split the Greek pizza and added Fennel Sausage.

Tyler P.

Yelp
What a wonderful location with wonderful pizza, a lively atmosphere, and helpful personnel. There are lots of things to do in Durango, but whether you're just passing through or want to stay for a few days, you should definitely stop by. You can unwind with a beer and a slice either inside or outside while watching the game. The location is handy to all the places in town you would need to go, and the staff is helpful and kind.

Patricia B.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in for lunch on a sunny but very cold day. It was big and open inside with lots of light. Despite it's size it was warm and cozy. We shared a meat lovers pizza and it came quickly. I expected kind of a mid pizza and was happily surprised and how good the pizza was. Just the right amount of salt and crispy. Excellent! Would definitely go back.

Steve F.

Yelp
Def worth stopping here. Ordered a thin 3 topper. Was excellent House salad also very good

Monty W.

Yelp
5 of 5. The smoked mozzarella and jalapeño dip is absolutely amazing. I've got a kid who isn't big on any sorta cheese dips but gave this dip 2 thumbs up. It's that good. We split a Pepperoni pizza as well as the Roasted Garlic Sausage Pesto. Both were great but Roasted Garlic Sausage Pesto stood out. Both were fantastic. If you're looking for good pizza in Durango, this is your place.

Casey T.

Yelp
This place is awesome!! Really enjoyed the cauliflower pizza crust. Great atmosphere and service.

Rodney G.

Yelp
We ordered the the meaty pizza but very little meat, the pizza was good tasting but for $25 for a 12 inch pizza you'd be better off to go to your local filling station and buy pizza with more ingredients and a better taste.

Mulholland P.

Yelp
This place was amazing! The staff was very friendly and quick to get your drink and order. They were very helpful in suggesting different items to eat. The pizza was delicious and above expectations. Everyone in our party loved everything we ordered. If you're looking for a great pizza this is the place.

Katie M.

Yelp
Delicious pizza! Perfect texture, great flavor. Not pictured, we got the collegiate also. I LOVED the fennel sausage, which surprised me. I figured the fennel would be a little off putting but it was my favorite thing! Had some nice cold beers to wash down the pizza and the grande salad to start. Didn't love the dressing, but the pizza was the star of the show. Bartender took great care of us. Atmosphere was nice and laid back. Smells coming from the oven were incredible. Definitely a place worth checking out!

Chuck K.

Yelp
Good pizza crust. Good service. Good atmosphere. Nothing special, however. Pizza was served lukewarm. Server offer to replace it, but we had an upcoming appointment, so we declined. I make better pizza at home, my own scratch made crust, etc. I have no reason to return.

Laura W.

Yelp
Honestly, our family of 13 wasn't thrilled with pizzas. They were kind of small and the crust didn't seem thoroughly baked like other wood burning places we've enjoyed. Was hoping for some unique flavor combinations but it was really same old same old pizza options. Not to be too critical, but we had leftovers and none of the kids, hungry teens included, finished.

Felicia L.

Yelp
Absolutely in love with this place! We were recommended it and we were NOT disappointed!! They have indoor and outdoor seating and the weather was perfect for outdoor! Eli our waiter was super friendly and helpful! And the food was spot on! We would definitely come back!!!

PJ C.

Yelp
The skies were black so we ducked in here for an early dinner before the rain came. It turns out it never rained so we could have sat outside - they do have a covered rooftop patio in addition to a few tables out front. The window seats were just fine. We were hankering pizza so I ordered the Sweet & Salty with figs and prosciutto on it - very good. The crust was thin and crispy. They had many tempting pizza choices but I think I did good. My wife ordered the smoked salmon sandwich with cream cheese, capers and onions - quite tasty. The place was hopping so the service was less than attentive. The prices were quite high for what we got but it is a tourist town after all.

Juan S.

Yelp
We were in town and wanted pizza. Came in here and were a bit surprised at how many people were in here. We got câprese appetizer. We got 2 different pizzas and all the food was really good. Ambiance was cool and service was good.

Bianca S.

Yelp
Their fennel sausage pizza with the Bianca base was the perfect antidote to my late afternoon hunger. The crust was light and crisp and their chili sauce was perfect for dunking crust. Service was quick and friendly.

Haylea E.

Yelp
The staff was so kind and attentive! We grabbed a Greek pizza to go. For the size to the price it was way too expensive. $25 for a pizza one person could eat. However it was tasty and they did have a ton of options.

Alisia L.

Yelp
Great place if you love soggy pizza for $25! Will not be coming back or recommending.

Chau V.

Yelp
Just drove into town from CA. This place was recommended by local. It's the Best pizza ever. Perfectly thin crusted "Superior" pizza. We also ordered chicken pesto sandwich that was delish! Quick service, polite server who was attentive. We want to come back!!!!

Hugh K.

Yelp
We ordered the arugula salad. It was fresh and tasty, but could have used some more dressing. We also got a pepperoni and mushroom pizza. It was really delicious. The restaurant was full at 6:15 on a Sunday but surprisingly not loud or manic. Our server was okay--slow to acknowledge our presence but totally fine after that.

Greg M.

Yelp
This place brags about homemade croutons in their salads. The croutons were stale and mushy. I told the waitress and she said "sorry". The Ceasar dressing was bitter. The pizza had burnt crust and was mediocre. So I would avoid this place if you are looking for good pizza

Kristin H.

Yelp
I found this place by doing research, Yelp and YouTube, prior to our visit to Durango. Everything we hoped for. Cool atmosphere, everything you would expect from a wood fired stove pizzeria, friendly servers, and delicious pizza and cocktails. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and the superior pizza, and house salads. Pizza have the perfect crust, the right shoe and just the right amount of dark brown crust. And the toppings were fantastic. The pepperoni was not any regular pepperoni. One pizza feeds two people easily. Highly recommend this place. The staff is also very good with children, we had a one year old and a three year old and they treated us all great.

Tina W.

Yelp
My husband and I went on the train ride and were so hungry when we got off, we came across Fired Up Pizzeria! Great food and service! Elias was so amazing, we shared a large grande salad and Meat works pizza, we highly recommend both. The atmosphere was very relaxing for us. Thank you again to Elias and staff for making it so enjoyable.

Wayne L.

Yelp
Food was fantastic. Service was average but fine, no complaints. Prices are astoundingly ridiculous. My wife and I spent more than $80 on: 1 mixed drink for my wife 1 appetizer - roasted stuffed mushrooms (mushrooms were perfectly cooked; stuffing was a bit light. I really only tasted the garlic, goat cheese, and spinach. I couldn't tell you if the other ingredients on the menu were included.). At least they served 6 mushrooms instead of 5 like most places like odd numbers.... 1 salad - large spinach salad; this was excellent and priced about normal compared with other restaurants 1 12" pizza - garlic sausage pesto pizza; outstanding food BUT it should stand up, shake your hand, AND taste like the best pizza you've ever had for $25. Again, with a proper tip included, this meal cost us $81.59. Again, 12" pizza, salad, app, drink. More than $81.

Rob W.

Yelp
With so many pizza selections it's hard to choose the right one. But if you're in Durango, Colorado, the right one is fired up pizzeria. All their pizzas cooked in a fire oven that come out crisp on the outside and soft in the inside. I had the southwest pizza, and it was absolutely amazing. Their service is excellent and the ambience is upscale for a pizza joint.

Tiff A.

Yelp
1/5 for me (veg/gluten free) The place is cute. The service was good. Really the food was just not it. I ordered a veg/gluten free pizza and they did not try to make it good at all. It was dry, there was plastic melted in my pizza (they gave me 50% off). It was way too expensive to taste that bad. I wish they had put more effort into making it tasty or just saying they don't make those kinds of pizza 3/5 from my bf (can eat anything) He said the pizza was just fine. Nothing too spectacular. We really wanted to love this place. But sadly did not.

Kelsey M.

Yelp
Okay. This place is hoppin and poppin. Great atmosphere inside and outside. Pretty day? Go eat outside. Cold outside, go enjoy the inside. Waitresses were so kind, thoughtful and quick! It was pretty crowded and they handled it like champs. I ordered the Bianca and added pepperoni and mozerella. Husband had the meat lovers and devoured the whole thing. Our brother-in-law ordered the pesto and mushroom and he ate the entire thing. We will 100% be back and come to this spot every time we are in town. So many things on the menu and freaking Bomb

Ivy V.

Yelp
The food was average and overpriced! We walked in and saw the sign that said "large groups will be charged gratuity", we were not paying as a group. Everyone in our group payed separately and all got charged 20%! It took over 30 minutes to get our bills. There was hair in the drinks and our server did nothing about it. Not a great experience for the first time in Durango to say the least.

Megan C.

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a Wednesday and it was packed. We were seated right away though, and food came out surprisingly quickly. My husband and I shared the Southwest pizza, with fennel sausage, green chile, red peppers, and red onion on a thin crust. We both really enjoyed the pizza. We also shared the wild arugula prosciutto salad, but got the house balsamic instead of the lemon vinaigrette, and we were glad we did. The balsamic with the figs in the salad was a great combo. I also got the on tap kolsch to drink, and it went great with the pizza. Splitting the pizza and salad with one drink set us back about $50 before tip.

Barbara M.

Yelp
The pizza is good. The price is very expensive and you leave hungry. The atmosphere is wonderful however it took a long time to get the food to our table.

Meghan M.

Yelp
Service was great, pizza was pretty good. I felt like the ceaser salad was mediocre but I felt like it was a crime to charge $11 for this cannoli that is really just a waffle cone.

Lili B.

Yelp
Fired up Pizzeria 1. Cheese: 6 2. Sauce: 2 3. Crust: 5 4. Preparation: 9 5. Overall flavor: 5 Side notes: - Looks better than it is - Cheese is a little bland - Sauce: Average taste, barely existent - Crust: Average taste, extremely thin to the point where it's barely there some slices TOTAL: 5.4 Overall very average pizza, maybe a little below. However please take into account I take pizza more seriously than the average person. Would I eat again? Maybe. If I'm I'm starving and/or want to give it a second chance. If I ever go back I'll probably try ordering a pizza with mozzarella rather than the standard 4-cheese. UPDATE: My dad reheated his pizza the following day and the crust was extremely rubbery. He ended up actually breaking his tooth eating it.

Jordan W.

Yelp
Durango has a strong pizza game, with several good spots depending on the kind of pizza you are looking for. Fired Up, conveniently located toward the South end of Main Avenue, serves thin-crust Neapolitan-style pizza baked in their wood-fueled oven. My favorites are the plain old margherita, the Vesuvius (spicy sausage) and particularly the prosciutto Bianca - prosciutto with fresh arugula and tomatoes, among other things. They have good Colorado beer on tap, some creative cocktails, as well as a few sandwiches and salads if you aren't in the mood for a pie. Some have complained about the cost, but I think the prices are fair for what you get- a thin crust pizza that's way above the average. The atmosphere is sort of trendy and modern, and I've never had reason for complaints about the service. Recommendable for everyone, including families. Happy travels! Seatbelts!

Wayne W.

Yelp
Reeaally good pizza. Had the margherita pizza and had them add prosciutto. Phenomenal! Wonderful crust and quality ingredients you can taste.

Ken K.

Yelp
We ordered takeout through the Yelp! app and the process was seamless- that's the best part. There's zero parking available at this location for takeout pickups so that was a hassle & delayed things. The $35 dollar pizza was definitely nothing special - definitely a disappointment. We're tourists here from Nashville TN area - one of the most expensive counties in the country so are "used to it" & this pizza was still 30% too expensive compared to that. Toppings were good quality but sparse as a frozen pizza from Walmart. Good luck folks, I can't recommend this place on value alone.

Hayden H.

Yelp
Good trying to me higher end burns crust my set down girl come over wake if your don try it it suck. No been here 5 time do n
