Friendly staff. Good food. First time dining in as I usually order take out. Definitely recommend dining in restaurant for a better experience!

Last year went out with my sisters for my birthday & had a blast , service was awesome , food was soo yummy , ambiance was nice , drinks were yummy & big portion 😛😇 , have nothing bad to say . Id go back & try more stuff on the menu :) i took the ribs & it was so yummy

Spiro (y) was our server and was excellent in every area. He was busy but his service never failed. He was polite, professional and definitely understands his role. He made you feel comfortable from the moment he meets you. He is an asset to this establishment!

We went looking for a beautiful steak and boy did they deliver. Cooked to perfection. Intresting decor as well (see pic) A great selection of preimum alcohol. Im sure dessert would have been just as awesome had we not been so full. Carla our waitess was also superb. Attentive yet not over bearing. When I find myself back in Montreal again for a stay ill definitely be back.

Food was delicious, give 5* who made it on last Friday evening! An amazing beets salad portion was huge, definitely recommend for those who watches their health! Waiter is polite and he took into consideration our wishes! Music is not loud so we were able to have a nice talk!

This place gave me the worst food poisoning experience of my entire life. Do not order the pesto pasta with mushrooms, it will kill you. Do not also go there an hour before closing time, maybe that was the reason why I got food poisoning there, they rushed to cook the food.

I had a Filet Mignon and an Affogato. They were both great!

My husband and I walked in at around 8:30 on Friday for supper. We were greeted right away with a smile by a redhead lady, she was so nice. Upon sitting down we had an informative bilingual blonde lady who served us. This was our first time coming. She was really great about making sure our needs were met the entire time and the meals were SO quick to be served, fresh hot and DELICIOUS food especially for the low price we paid and the location is downtown. I was surprised such great quality food was not expensive. Love love this place, the ribs, Chicken and beef Steak was PERFECT and full of flavours. The French onion soup was one of the greatest I’ve ever had better than the one si had in France even this summer. Will be back, I will bring friends too! Thanks for the best first dining experience :)

Pooh and I ended our stay in Montreal by treating ourselves to a steak dinner. We wanted to stay in downtown Montreal so we opted for the Fire Grill. We started our meal with their Bloody Caesar. It had the right amount of spice for us. When you see the picture, imagine it with a slice of cucumber, a lemon wedge and three olives. I ate the olives and cucumber before snapping the photo Next we each had the Iceberg lettuce salad with blue cheese crumble and avocado ranch dressing with crumbled bacon and fresh chopped tomatoes. I'm not a fan of blue cheese but in this salad it was devine. It paired well with the dressing and bacon. The main course was the Manhattan Peppercorn steak with a lobster tail and mixed veggies. We requested medium-rare for the steak. The steak was more medium at the ends and medium rare in the middle but still delicious and the perfect size. The mixed veg were crispy and the lobster was splendid. The peppercorn sauce was a great compliment to the steak We ate the meal with a bottle of Mirassou Pinot Noir. It paired well with the steak

We ate at the Fire Grill last Saturday, June 1, 2024. I ordered a filet mignon. Instead of being round and thick, as expected, the steak provided was flat, about a half-inch thick and about 5" by 6" in size. It was not a filet mignon. In addition, it was covered in spices, which was not mentioned on the menu, and was blood red even though I had requested medium. Looking back at the menu, I believe that they gave me a Peppercorn Manhattan steak. I sent it back to get more cooking. It arrived back at the table in about 2 minutes, still bleeding. I sent it back again. Once more, it was returned quickly and not cooked medium. I was unhappy and the server agreed with me that the steak was not what was ordered. He said that he talked to the manager, but we heard nothing more. At this point everyone at the table was about through eating so I ate a very expensive mound of mashed potatoes for dinner. At about $50 for a steak dinner, I expected at least something edible. The restaurant made no attempt to rectify the situation and the steak was thrown out. If it was the wrong steak, they either should have replaced it with the filet mignon requested or comped the meal that was not eaten.

Started with the French Onion Soup and the Grilled Octopus. The soup had loads of onions but could have been a bit cheesier. The Grilled Octopus was served precut over a salad. Very tasty but could have a bit more octopus for the price. The 14-ounce prime rib was tasty and cut like butter, but as the largest cut they offer, it was a bit small for my NYC standards. The petit filet mignon hit the spot for my better half. The Dutch Apple Pie was delicious. Service was good and the restrooms were clean. Overall, an A-Okay dining experience.

Ordered a peppercorn steak which had a large piece of grissle running through which couldn't be cut through with the knife they gave me. I sent it back and it was over 20 minutes before i got a replacement. I still had to cut off several pieces of grissle. My wife watched me eat because she had already finished her meal. Neither meal was above average. $100 not well spent. I wouldn't come back.

We had a fantastic experience here, and absolutely loved the food, Making a reservation was easy, the staff at the front desk were friendly and polite, and our server had the perfect mix of being attentive, interested in us as customers but not too intrusive into our meal. All our steaks were cooked perfectly and the sides were delicious too. I don't live in Montreal, but if I'm ever back visiting as a tourist I would certainly want to get another meal here.

Would never come back. Explained to the waitress I have celiac disease and she told me to look at the menu for things that have gluten. The menu does NOT say which items were GF. To top it all off our server was terrible and while I was waiting for salad dressing I witnessed 3 serves take shots behind the Bar with another customer. Worst service I've ever had. Will not be coming back.

It came to a rough start. I went up to the hostess desk and she and a waitress looked at me as if I was at the wrong place. Was a little wierd. Got seated and was sooo thirsty. The waiter came to give us menus and I asked for water. After passing by us several times, no water. I asked a waitress and finally got some water. We finally ordered. I must say that the food was absolutely delicious! I had a tuna sandwich and it was a thick piece of tuna, absolutely amazing ! The cosmo was also yummy! The atmosphere is so dark though, it would be nice to have more light, I found the lighting a tad depressing .

Very nice steakhouse with a cosy atmosphere, courtesy and well informed staff. Price reasonable, parking galore, not like Rib and Reef where you have to fight with their valet drivers. Place is great for business as well as family. Clean washrooms. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Loved it. It was so good we went back there for a second time during our trip. Get Melissa for your waitress if you can. :-) The onion soup was one of the best we've ever had and we are connoisseurs, at least of onion soup.

I loved the drink menu that included real Cuban Rum and the Old Cuban is was a special and tasty treat. I also enjoyed the Poutin with short ribs and it was better than most restaurants. The filet mignon was about average and was plated well, although priced pretty high.

This place has the BEST MAC & CHEESE EVER. SUPER BAKED with extra cheese and cooked throughout. The chunks of bacon are just an extra mouthful of greatness. At first when I got here I was going to go for the steak due to the fact that it's a steakhouse but something told me to go for the mac and cheese and I'm ESTATIC I did. I cannot wait to come back here. Our server was amazing, I wish we would've gone back to thank him for all his help. When I got here it was a party of 3 and they were closing- especially during these times of COVID it was super nice of them to let us eat comfortably without feeling rushed out. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO.

Nice large restaurant with two side, one with bar, quieter seating with booths other with TVs and seemed livelier. Service was good, polite and timely. Atmosphere was decent. Menu was typical Midwestern food, nothing exciting Tried the French onion soup, which was average. Not too heavy, plenty of cheese only a few cubes of bread and thinner broth. The roast beet salad was fairly flavorless. The beets were cooked but no means roasted. The nuts were neither candied or salted. The goat cheese was good and plentiful and really provided the only singular flavor. The salad was lightly dressed in a vinaigrette but it was so sparse it could hardly be tasted. The portion was huge. The burger didn't come with an option of how you'd like it cooked so it came out well done. It was decent but not remarkable. Overall, very average food.

Lovely and cozy restaurant, good portions.. Winter set up i believe .. as usual, downtown parking is challenging but you have a parking just facing the firegrill

good food i loved this as a tourist and didnt know where to eat! so i stopped by and checked this out on yelp and i am SHOCKED on how delicious this food is!!

Overpriced and underwhelming. We started with cocktail that were clearly thrown together with low-end liquor, hastily-mixed, and served in huge glasses over too much ice. My wedge salad had barely any dressing but way too much blue cheese. And everything seemed to be thrown together with zero thought about how it would look or taste. The steaks were inconsistently cooked. Some bits completely overdone. The sides were uninspiring: bland vegetables.

Ordered a steak that was pretty good. Service was decent but could have been slightly better in one respect: refilling water, since our water wasn't refilled during the dinner. One issue though that dinged the review down by 1 rating was that there was a fly frozen into one of the ice cubes in a drink, indicating that there is a gap in sanitation in or near their ice machine.

We could not have had a better experience at a restaurant! The food here is amazing - top quality and so delicious! Large portion sizes are very reasonably priced, and the atmosphere is warm. We wish we had found this place earlier...we would have eaten here for every meal during our trip to Montreal. This restaurant is a MUST for all our future trips! The service is wonderful! If you are lucky enough to have Spiro for your waiter, your time at the Firegrill Restaurant & Bar will be the highlight of your trip. Date of visit = Oct.21.21

Best restaurant and steakhouse and pound I had the French dip it with very very good my sister and my mom had good chicken oh my God I can't remember what my brother-in-law had and that was last night oh boy lol . I think he got the steak ...... The food was outstanding service was excellent staff was very friendly and helpful and give you more time to look at the menu They are prompted with getting your order and drinks. You don't feel rushed.

Best restaurant I ate at while in Montreal. I had grilled shrimp which came with a melted garlic butter that was phenomenal. I am gluten free and the server was knowledgeable that I couldn't have the rice bc it was cooked in a broth that wasn't gluten free. Suggested the garlic mashed potatoes which were great. My wife had salmon which also was excellent. I also ate at "the keg" and preferred this steakhouse. I would go back if I was here another night.

I was impressed with the location. Very much a typical American bar/steakhouse joint but it does some dishes better. The prime rib was about average, which is to say pretty good but nothing special. The salad had good helping of goat cheese and a wine vinaigrette on the sweet side that my wife really liked although I thought the combination was a little overwhelming. The shrimp cocktail was deveined well (for a bar place) and was appropriately cooked. The shrimps were pretty big too. The highlight for me was the tiramisu. It was very fluffy and not overly sweet. I suspect they served it in a glass jar because it's so fluffy it would struggle to hold its shape without a container.

The food was surprisingly much better than I had expected. Although we had to wait around 30 mins (on a Friday evening) for our meals, the waiter apologized for the delay and made sure we're okay with everything. This place is nice for a casual steakhouse craving, as the portions are generous and the prices comparatively affordable.

Huge disappointment! Was craving for a good Roast Beef today and recently heard how the Firegrill may deliver that. Wrong! Starters were chicken wings which were pretty good. I did find it unusual the order was served within 10 min..hmm. I ordered the Roast Beef medium and it came back well done, I returned it. Second time around wasn't much better. The cut was tough no matter how I ordered it. Not the highlight of the evening. Tiramisu was the dessert which was mediocre. There is nothing extraordinary about this restaurant that I would return. Off to my next culinary experience . Stay tuned.

Came in for late night snack. BAO buns were different and very tasty but the wings were burnt and scrawny. Had them here a year ago and they were very good so it was disappointing. Waitress was very friendly but was no where to be found when we needed multiple drink refills. Would not recommend for a return visit.

It's a chain but a very nice and consistent one. Came in on a Wednesday night with no reservations and despite the crowd were seated immediately. Service was very quick for our drink order and the old fashioned was delicious. Ordered the Caesar salad and prime rib medium rare. Prime rib was juicy and cooked perfectly. The au jus was good as were the garlic mashed. Great service and good overall value.

Ordered a couple of appetizers to share. I found it strange that the apps came to the table 10 mins apart. The calamari was mediocre. The batter was too soft and would fall apart when you pick it up. However, the spinach and kale dip was delicious. It was nice and cheesy but not too heavy or lumpy like other places. I had the filet mignon rare and added mushroom sauce on the side for $4, since the steak was not bacon wrapped for flavor. I found $4 a bit steep for a small ramekin of sauce, but I love mushrooms so I thought I'd give it a try. The steak was well cooked but I thought it was a bit bland even with the mushroom sauce. The server was nice but she didn't come around much, so we ended up waiting around for quite a while between courses and picking up the bill. Overall, I would give the place a 2.5 but I rounded it up to 3. It's not bad, but there are better places for a steak.

Popped in for an impromptu steak with a friend and I'm glad we did. The prices are reasonable and the steak was amazingly well cooked. There is special attention to service which adds a touch of class and a traditional vibe which sets this restaurant apart from others in the area. Highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a place that can deliver a great steak!

This restaurant was recommended to us by the concierge at our hotel. It was a great choice, as we were looking for steak. My husband had the steak, it was cooked to perfection. I had the rack of lamb, it was delicious. My son had the ribs and chicken and was well served. I think would be good enough to share for two or a satisfying meal for a growing teenage boy. Service as great. We definitely recommend this place for dinner and will try to be back during our stay.

Has good bar food, never eaten inside but am a frequent Uber eats and take outer! In my opinion they have the most American ribs in montreal!! Very very good

Came here for dinner with three other friends. Had the farmers plate and seafood platter for appetizer to share. Most of the items were deep fried and greasy. The flavour only came from the sauces. The French onion soup was greasy and salty, I tried one spoon full and that was more than enough for me. I got the ahi tuna for main course, medium rare. The first few bites were ok, but it got more and more salty as I kept on eating. The ribs that my bf ordered was too sweet. However the baked potato was good with bacon, sour cream and green onion. The bill came out to be $50-70/person. Won't be back again. The service wasn't good either, had to remind the waiter to bring more utensils to us after we got seated.

AVOID, as muslim, i asked for a chicken burger which had NO bacon specified in the menu, to double check i asked very clearly to the waiter and she agreed that there was no bacon in it. While eating it i noticed that, in fact, they added bacon to my burger. This is a big disrespect.

First time we went 2 couples to eat on Saturday night the food was excellent, The place is clean, service was AAA by Katlyn, the only Derangement was our place in an area a lot of young kids disturbing And running around the tables

Service Food 2.5 Had an extremely disappointing experience today. I went with my work colleagues for lunch, ordered the fillet Mignon Lunch menu. Asked to replace the mashed potatoes with vegetables. They charged me an additional $2 for that only to find that I had ONE cauliflower, ONE Broccoli and a tiny slice of pepper. When done, I asked for my coffee which comes with the menu however the waitress told me to wait until all the group were done paying their bills (were about 20 persons) as she could not get it to me before!! Obviously I left without having my coffee since it was pointless to have it after everyone was gone! So bottom line I paid$40 for a tiny piece of meat, two pieces of veggies and no coffee! Service was extremely disappointing as well as the whole experience in general. I do not think I will go back soon or recommend to anyone

A traditional steak house in Montreal. I passed by this restaurent a few times but never tried eating there . Everything was surprisingly tasty and good. Their meat dishes are magnificent. It is my favour steak house in downtown now. Life is just so simply... you can find happiness just by discover new things.

Aw Firegrill... I had good memories of this place. My boyfriend and I went there instead of Soubois and we did not regret. The breads were delicious and warm, the waitresses were attentive and the food was amazing! When we arrived at the entrance, the hostess direct us to a booth. It was incredibly crowded on a Saturday night but there were plenty of seats available and the staffs were quick and efficient. Our first order was fried calamari with mayo sauce. Then, I ordered a barley soup and New York steak with mashed potatoes. I finished my meals with a green tea. Overall, the experience at Firegrill totally compensate from the bad service we got at Soubois. Great food, great ambiance and great service.

The roast beef is to die for. Something truly unique and unlike I've had anywhere before. Fairly reasonable for a 14oz roast as well !

First restaurant I visited in Montréal. Great ambiance and good variety of drinks. Bartender was friendly-she even wrote a list of sites I might be interested in visiting in the city. I visited a few and was not disappointed. Food- mediocre

I love this place, the staff was super friendly the food was amazing..the bbq pulled pork steamed buns OMG!! I wasn't happy I had to share, the ribs were an excellent choice so delish!! I am back in Orlando and still thinking about those steamed buns! Thanks to the supervisor who was super nice, the salad guy and sous chef that was just slaying it in the kitchen! They definitely help create lasting memories on our trip to Montreal!

This was not a planned visit - we wanted to go to another restaurant on the street that was closed - so we picked what was closest. The Firegrill was nothing to write home about. The service for a Saturday lunch was okay - but it seemed under-staffed. The food was alright, but pretty much like any other chain steak house-type restaurant I've been to. Overall, an okay place to stop if you're in the area, but not worth going out of your way to visit.

Fire Grill is a large,classically styled steak house. We ended you here because my child was tired and hungry & it was there. We were greeted promptly, in a friendly manner. Our waitress approached us quickly and was friendly as well. There is plenty of attractive sounding foods on the menu but we went on the lighter side. Let me say, I liked this place quite a bit, up until the time the food arrived. The dishes all looked wonderful. They arrived quickly and hot. Unfortunately the best dish was the kids mini burgers (which were nice). The chicken club was OK but the "Famous" Chicken Tenders" were a tremendous let down, freshly made but not seasoned at all, totally bland. They were absolutely nothing special. The chicken club was good as were the kids sliders, but nothing was great nor worth returning. Montreal foodie town and there are MUCH better places to dine, skip this one.

Fire grill I mean what can I say! Perfection from the place to the decor to the server , class all the way, relaxed atmosphere, friendly server / waiter, which it annoys me I forgot his name, but he has a Greek name hopefully it'll come to me before I finish writing my review, we saw on a benched seat right next to the window and it was a great experience, I loved my meal some type of fish, spinach and Rice and their rice was the best I have ever gotten from A non Caribbean restaurant! My mom got an all dressed baked potato with chicken. The entree of shrimp was great and the drinks were great, we ordered the strawberry cheesecake to share since we were incredibly full but greedy for sweets hahaha but it was watery and not appealing and guess what?! When Spavo ( I think that's his name) asked us how was the desert as he did for each item ordered before and we told him our thoughts about it thinking noting more of it he didn't charge us the item and agreed that it was out of the norm for them to serve the cake like that! So all this to say he went above and beyond and it was appreciated greatly! I say promote him to manager or something he clearly knows what he's doing! And he has a great sense of humour and tact and approach! Hats off

The place is good but its way too expensive if we compare it to the quality of food and the service we receive. Try it once by yourself and you'll know.

This is a great steakhouse with lots of selection, nice decor and attentive service. The location is ideal, for being downtown, very accessible (facing Peel metro) yet it's not busy and there's plenty of seating. People aren't swarming here after work for meetings or cocktails. I've been twice so far and was always pleased with the food. Between my partner and I, we've tried the steak, bbq grilled chicken breast, chicken tenders, californian chicken sandwich, shrimp cocktail and desserts like key lime pie (delicious!!) or choco-banana cakes. Compared to other steakhouses, this place has many chicken and seafood dishes, pasta or sandwiches and a lunch menu. Everything is delicious although I find some options quite pricey. If you order a sandwich, it comes by default with fries, replacing that with a salad costs 5.50$ Their fries are shoestring cut and seasoned, which I found a little too salty. Recommended if you want good food, good service in a classy yet relaxed environment.

Avoid. Ordered the Manhattan steak. Not a great cut but I was looking forward to the Brandy Peppercorn sauce. The sauce unfortunately was bland. The steak was cooked as ordered, but was surprisingly full of grissle - probably 30%. Service was weak. Prompt upon seating and then disappeared. Had to flag down another server to refresh our drinks when the plates hit the table. Focus seems to be on turning tables rather than putting quality on the plates.

I am at this restaurant at least once a week. Love their fresh salads and choices of their drinks. The Tuna salad is super Yummy , you can not go wrong at this place. whats is great is also they have a valet service to park your car.

The food is ok, environment ok. But not wowingly good. The onion soup is a little too salty, the cheese on the fillet minion is a little brunt. But the price is reasonable for the quantity.

Awesome food, the taste of food sticks to your ribs and comes with great service. One of my favourite restaurant. Must try this place.

Just a couple of blocks off Ste. Catherine and a large dining space. I've tried lunch and dinner here. Both were great dishes and fit the bill. Service isn't always consistent but overall friendly and welcoming here. Also pretty good for appetizers and drinks. I recommend the small cheesecakes for dessert!

I ordered a bacon cheeseburger that had, bacon, honey mustard onions , etc. it was so good and sweet! My dad ordered a prime rib cooked medium. Got my food at a reasonable waiting time, when it arrived my dads prime rib was not medium it was a bit tough to chew and cut. Mine was delicious! My dad told the waiter about the problem ad the waiter insisted to change it to his liking, he literally came back a minute or two later with a new prime rib and really impressed my dad! It was as if every time he cut the meat it melted off so smoothly, my dad was so happy after that. Only problem I had was when I asked for a doggy bag they forgot but so did I and I only remembered later on that night. Not a big problem but still. Anyways I loved the atmosphere it felt warm and cozy and the food was great!!
